Aaron Carter's Final Project GROUP to Move Forward, Director Issues Statement
A month prior to his tragic passing, Aaron Carter wrapped filming on an independent sitcom pilot titled Group. With the blessing of Carter's management, the filmmakers intend to complete the project in his honor.
Writer-director Brian Farmer issued a statement:
"I was heartbroken to hear the shocking news about Aaron on Saturday. Aaron was so excited about the show and helping raise awareness for mental health, a topic he was very passionate about. He said being a part of the show gave him something positive to work toward, and I’ll forever cherish that. He was such a kind soul and a pleasure to work with, and he will be dearly missed by everyone who was a part of Group and countless others. My heart goes out to his family and friends."
Set in group therapy, Group’s premise revolves around mental health advocacy. Carter was eager to open up about his real-life struggles by playing a fictionalized version of himself.
The cast also includes Samm Levine (Freaks and Geeks, Inglourious Basterds), Olive Chiacchia, Ari Stidham (Scorpion), Ashley Brinkman, Kevin Clayette (Neighbours), Abdoulaye NGom (My Name Is Earl), Anne Judson-Yager (Bring It On Again), and Mike Starr (Dumb and Dumber, Goodfellas).
Currently in post-production, Group will be shopped around to networks upon completion. It will be dedicated in Carter's memory.
Scorpion 30 Day Challenge • Day 10 ► Sylvester Dodd / Ari Stidham Appreciation Day
Sylvester Dodd is the cinnamon roll of my life. He is probably the one I relate the most with because we both have a long list of irrational fears, needing to be conquered. Up until the last episode, I loved how cheerful he almost always was, always spinning a positive on everything (with the occasional doom-factor included). I also loved how his character is my age so it’s nice to see a show with someone who is the same age as you and goes through the same ordeals.
I love how involved Ari is on Instagram and Social Media, and he seems pretty down-to-earth. I look forward to see any future projects he might be involved in (same goes with the rest of the cast as well). :)
Thoughts: The show was an interesting concept but somewhere along the way they focused far too much on the drama, and far less on what made the show great. Their unique ways of problem solving.
Concept: ⭐️⭐️1/2
Not getting into this as am not one who believes the self proclaimed genius of the real Walter O’Brien. The show on its own had merit until it became a prime time soap opera.
Story: ⭐️⭐️
Storytelling: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ish
Characterization: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Casting: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Entertainment: ⭐️⭐️
Best: Paige, Ralph, Happy, Toby, Sylvester, Cabe, the characters were brilliant except….
Worst: Walter O’Brien: ****SPOILER ALERT**** At first he was innocent jackass that was endearing in a weird way. By mid season 3, I completely disliked the character. Was utterly disappointed when Paige and him got together at the end of season 3. She deserved so much better. By the final episode, it was fantastic when they all left him. To be honest… it was not surprising that the series was canceled after season 4. The only way it would survive was without Walter O’Brien and they made the show wholly dependant on him being the central character. So, the show was better off without Walter, but could only keep going with Walter in it, but lost all its fans because the character was completely unlikeable by the end.
Scorpion 4x21 "Kenny and the Jet" All Sneak Peeks - Paige’s maternal side goes into high gear when Team Scorpion must save an unconscious, hypothermic boy stuck in the wheel well of their airborne airplane. Also, Walter’s white lie to Paige starts to take a toll on him, and Paige realizes something’s up.
Merry Christmas to everyone!! Today is mcm or man crush Monday and I'm featuring The handsome Ari Stidham aka Sylvester Dodd. He is funny and good looking. He also is great at playing his scorpion character who is super smart. He's worthy of my Man Crush today!!
