Collection of Luminaria Staff comments
Okay, so the Luminaria official twitter accounts are still up, and I think I’ve got every comment they made there. I’ve also got a section dedicated to messages from the development team and writing team here.
And this post on the anime I wrote should lead you to every comment made on the anime by the directors, two of the scenario writers, the voice actors, etc.
So what’s left? Well, after the read more, we’ve got a blog post from one of the producers of Tales of the Rays and Tales of Luminaria. We’ve also got two blog posts from one of Luminaria’s scenario writers!
Yasuhiro Ikeno’s Graduation Announcement
On September 6, 2022, Yasuhiro Ikeno, one of the producers for Tales of the Rays and Tales of Luminaria, announced his graduation from the Tales of the Rays team in this Tales Channel+ blog post. His successor is the Assistant Producer who had experience in promotion, events, and production for the “Tales of” Series. She was in charge of Tales of the Rays’ promotion, from pre-service to Book II.
In this blog post, Ikeno talked a bit about his experience as a producer and what he wanted to do when he planned for Tales of the Rays and Tales of Luminaria. He said that he planned Tales of the Rays as a personal expression of his appreciation for the Tales of Series, and he said that he planned Tales of Luminaria because he wanted as many people as possible to know about and love the Tales of Series.
There’s another paragraph on Luminaria, but I can’t trust my own handle on the JP language to not completely butcher the translation. It is comforting, though, knowing that one of the producers for Luminaria has such strong and sincere feelings about Luminaria and the Tales games that preceded it. Ikeno also touched on the topic of the official archive for Tales of Luminaria in this event stream.
Sekina Aoi’s Episode Final Blog Post
After the episode Final was released, Sekina Aoi, one of the scenario writers for Tales of Luminaria, wrote about what material they wanted to include and what material they needed to cut in this blog post.
So, massive disclaimer: I’m not that great at JP translation, so you’re going to need to take what I’m about to say with a pile of salt.
Aoi comments about how the ep Final scenario was based on material they were going to publish in Crossroads ep 3, but they had to cut out or rewrite a lot of the content to make it into an episode Final. One of the things they had to cut out was “the situation with Celia.”
I felt the need to bold that because there was a not so small group of people who accused the writers of “not caring about Celia” or “Oh, I guess Celia’s not special enough” The writers were trying. And if they were given the time they needed, they would’ve developed Celia properly like they had always planned too! Luminaria’s writers honestly treat their characters with a lot of care, so that accusation never had any legs to begin with and always bothered me.
And Aoi says that there was one more reason why Hugo couldn’t tell Leo and Celia about his situation, but since that reason was based on the premise of Celia’s ep 3, they had to cut it out. For those who believed the three should’ve sat down and had a proper conversation, this couldn’t happen due to the scenario’s lack of description. But Aoi emphasizes that the Le Sant childhood friends are trying their best to love each other, and they’re struggling to understand each other.
The staff also tried to include a bit of the Tragedy of Le Sant from Leo’s perspective, which was material for Leo’s ep 4, as well as “the situation with Lisette” in the ep Final.
Considering how pressed for the time the writers and everyone working on the game was, and considering all the things they weren’t able to include, I hope people can have more appreciation for the ep Final. It’s not easy to try and wrap up a story that wasn’t even halfway to its conclusion! But man, did they sure try their best!
Sekina Aoi’s Tales of Luminaria 1st Anniversary Blog Post
Here’s the blog post Aoi wrote on Tales of Luminaria’s 1st Annivesary. Aoi talked about how amazing it was that Luminaria seems to still have so much love and support from fans on various SNS even after the service shut down.
He also had quite a bit to say on derivative works, his roots in said works, and their importance. Of course, they would appreciate it if you comply with the appropriate guidelines for derivative works as set by the official company.
Aoi shared a personal story that happened after Luminaria’s EoS was decided, and he says that they’d be more than happy if the fans continued to love and enjoy Tales of Luminaria for many years to come.
And that’s all the commentary I could gather from the staff for now! I’m sure they and others will have more to say whenever we get updates on Tales of Luminaria.
I’ll do my best to reblog with updates when that happens too!

“Just Because!” is an original anime series that aired in 2017 in the genre of school, drama, and slice-of-life. Written by Hajime Kamoshida and directed by Atsushi Kobayashi, this anime is not based on any manga or light novel. The anime has been produced by the same studio that produced “Gamers!“, based on Sekina Aoi’s light novel. Pine Jam‘s, which is quite new in the anime industry, also produced Gleipnir, a beloved anime series nowadays. The anime, licensed by Sentai Filmworks, originally aired on AT-X, Tokyo MX, tvk, MBS, BS Fuji local Japanese channels. After the first season aired between October 5, 2017 – December 28, 2017, a second season has not met with the audience so far. So, will the series have a second season after more than three years?1 What is the plotline of ‘Just Because!’?2 Will there be a second season of the anime? What is the plotline of ‘Just Because!’?Three students in the last semester of high school plan to shape their future lives, but these plans will change slightly with a new transfer student. This transfer student is a middle school friend of two of our five main characters, Natsume Mio and Souma Haruto. Izumi Eita moved to another city in the third term of the seventh grade and has not seen friends in his old city for four years. Already being accepted to a university, Eita plans to spend a boring few months at the university, but things will not go as boring as expected. After the arrival of this transfer student, Morikawa Hazuki and Komiya Ena’s life will change considerably. The Picture: @Sentai / YouTubeWill there be a second season of the anime? As of March 2021, at the time of writing, Pine Jam or any related company has yet to renew the series for a second season. The anime’s first season aired in 2017 and was later adapted into the novel series. There is a novel series, but it does not contain any further details about the continuation of the story because the anime has completely original content.Disc sales of the anime may provide clues for the new season. The anime’s first season sold approximately 1,700 BluRays and DVDs. This sales figure is well below the targets, and it isn’t easy to see a new season in terms of disc sales. Although the first season of the anime is licensed by Sentai Filmworks and listed on Amazon Prime, it is not certain that the second season will be licensed. For this reason, the decision committee primarily targets disc sales.Hajime Kamoshida is the artist who wrote the script for the series and is currently actively continuing the light novel of the “Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai” series. There is no information that he or the studio has a plan for a new season. When we look at the series’s general popularity, the volume of searches for the second season is low. 24.6K people followed their Twitter account, which has an average follower volume for an anime. With a popularity score of 75.8%, anime still has a good fanbase. We will notify you when renewal is announced for a new season in the future. We see the chance of a new season of the series below 50%, but the anime world is full of surprises. With a possible renewal, we can see a new season of the series in 2022-2023.

Reading Log - January 2019
Tumblr media
A summary of all the light novel volumes I read this month - along with my thoughts on them. I bought all of these volumes from BookWalker. Most of these series will not be available in English but I’ll try to point it out when I know if one of this series has received an official translation.
Note that, obviously, the following text is just my own opinion so please respect that and if you see anything that I got completely wrong (i.e. I accidentally refer to a character with incorrect pronouns), let me know. I will avoid posting spoilers as much as possible but let me know if I accidentally slip up.
Gamers! 1 by Sekina Aoi (Light Novel):
It was a fairly enjoyable read for the most part but, by the time I had reached the second half, I had lost interest and just wanted it to end. The chapters felt so long and dull and I think shorter chapters would have worked better. The other thing that stuck out to me is that the art is very simplistic and sometimes did not match the text for the scene it was for. I didn’t feel like the art added anything to the volume though I suppose it would have been jarring without it, given the genre of the story. That being said, I liked the characters a lot, including the protagonist and I enjoyed it enough that I’ll probably check out the second volume in the future though I’ll probably watch the anime beforehand to make sure that the story doesn’t go in a direction I don’t like.
Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata 1 by Fumiaki Maruto (Light Novel):
After finishing the Koisuru Metronome spin-off manga last month (which I loved, btw), I finally had motivation to read the light novel. It is really good. The pacing is excellent, there are a lot of funny moments and I love Maruto’s writing style. I do think that this series really needs to give the reader more insight on Katou. I get that part of the charm of the first volume is reliant on Tomoya having no interest in Katou but I want to know about her family and friends (because she must have some that she hung out with before meeting Tomoya) and I want to know what she’s like with them. I watched the anime alongside reading this and I think the events flow smoother in that and there is a lot of really interestingly directed parts (I love the café scene in episode 2) but it loses a bit of funny dialogue which is a shame. I have volume 2 already but I’ll probably wait a bit to read it so that I don’t get burnt out on the series.
Monku no Tsukeyou ga Nai Love Comedy 3 by Daisuke Suzuki (Light Novel):
In my mind, this series has two main charm points: the fun dialogue and the relationship between its’ two leads and it’s the latter that is on full display in this volume. Outside of that, it’s a pretty unremarkable yet enjoyable volume from a pretty unremarkable yet enjoyable series. I have to say that the side story that came with the volume on BookWalker is adorable though. As an aside, I recommend this series for people who are learning Japanese. It’s pretty easy since most of it is just dialogue and there aren’t many places that can trip you up.
Otome Game no Hametsu Flag Shika Nai Akuyaku Reijou ni Tensei Shiteshimatta... 2 by Satoru Yamaguchi (light Novel):
This volume is just as entertaining and hilarious as the first but it also surprised me. While the first volume could’ve been described as ‘predictable yet fun’, this volume had quite a few events that I didn’t see coming and, more than that, it was interesting. When I got to the main chapter, I couldn’t stop reading. It was that good. Katarina continues to be an amazing protagonist and the rest of the characters are just as enjoyable. In particular, this volume introduces to new characters and I won’t talk much about the second because spoilers but I loved Maria and I ship her with Katarina so much. I will warn that this series suffers from originally being a web novel will little editing been done during the conversion to being a light novel series in that most of the chapters are  episodic so, when you get to the main chapter, it feels disconnected from the rest of the volume and is way longer than any of the other chapters.
J-Novel Club is currently releasing the volumes in English under the title of My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! so please pick it up if the series interests you.
Otome Game no Hametsu Flag Shika Nai Akuyaku Reijou ni Tensei Shiteshimatta... 3 by Satoru Yamaguchi (light Novel):
Welp, I suppose it was about time that this series had a volume that I didn’t love. The first chapter was pretty good but there wasn’t a whole lot in the later chapters that I liked. The new characters introduced this volume were interesting enough but I’d have rather have spent time with the characters I already love. Plus, I would’ve been fine with this series ending in the previous volume though admittedly the series probably wouldn’t have been as popular if it had and I might not have read it in the first place. I’m not really a fan of romance series and I feel like this volume is trying to steer the series into becoming more of one and I hope that the following volumes bring back the things that make me enjoy this series and I love the cover for vol. 4 so I’m sure it will (Katarina, charging while Jeord and Sora are all ‘slow down, dumbass!’).
Thinking about, if Katarina ends up with anyone, I want it to be Maria. They definitely have the sweetest and cutest interactions but, if I’m being realistic because it almost impossible for this series to go the yuri route, I’d prefer Nicole over the other guys. He won me over in the first volume when he gave Katarina a necklace modelled after one that a character in a book had and he’s been consistently good since then. He really cares for Katarina and I think she’d be happiest with him. Keith and Alan are also good options but I don’t get the appeal of Jeord.
Monku no Tsukeyou ga Nai Love Comedy 4 by Daisuke Suzuki (light Novel):
Sekai doesn’t actually have a whole lot of scenes in this volume which made is boring since her relationship with Yuuki really is the stand-out of the series and Kurumi and Haruko are pretty dull. The last chapter was interesting though.
Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata 2 by Fumiaki Maruto (Light Novel):
This volume seemed to drag on longer than the first but I did really enjoy the climactic scenes with Utaha and I loved the short dialogue-only interaction between Katou and Eriri. There’s a lot that I want to say about this series but I’m waiting and hoping that the series will prove me wrong before I do so. For now, I’m just wanting for this series to show more interactions between the characters without Tomoya. I will say that I think the anime is slightly better than the light novel series so far. It has it’s problems, like it has a lot of times where a male gaze-y perspective is used and it’s unpleasant but I think it succeeds in the most important way: it makes me forget about Katou’s existence. It’s hard to make Katou forgettable in a dialouge-focused text-based series and the manga doesn’t even try to do it but the anime takes advantage of it’s format and successfully uses certain camera angles to make Katou less noticeable.
Monku no Tsukeyou ga Nai Love Comedy 5 by Daisuke Suzuki (light Novel)
Easily the most entertaining volume of the series so far, to the point where I wanted to immediately buy vol. 6 when I finished it (I didn’t because I like to wait for sales but the temptation was there). I can’t talk about this series a lot because the first volume has a twist that most readers won’t see coming so I don’t want to spoil it for them but I will say that I usually find the characters who aren’t Sekai or Yuuji to be boring but I actually liked them in this volume, probably because they interacted with Sekai while usually they just interact with Yuuji. I will also say that I think the structure of this series would have worked better in a eroge or galge. The structure actually reminds me of Asairo’s structure more than anything else and it kind of works in light novel format but it feels like it was meant for a route structure.
Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata 3 by Fumiaki Maruto (Light Novel):
My favorite thing about this volume is that Tomoya was never insulted or shamed for liking otome games. He also gets to cry a bit near the end of the volume and male protagonists showing emotions other than anger is always nice (note that the anime down-playes this and I’m super bitter about it. He hardly cries in the anime but in the light novel, he full on bawls to the point where he has trouble speaking) . Eriri got the bulk of development this time around and I think it was well done. I really liked the scene with her and Tomoya at the end. A new heroine, Izumi, is introduced in this volume and I think she has the potential to be an interesting character. She’s, unfortunately, used to generate boob physics in the anime and the manga (to be clear, the manga is much worse than the anime in this regard) and she’s a middle schooler so that’s… uncomfortable, to say the least. I hope she uses her earnings from Comiket to buy a decent bra... I didn’t care much for Iori in the volume but I thought he was hilarious in the anime adaptation and I kinda ship him with Tomoya tbh.

Misunderstanding as a Comedic Device
Misunderstanding as a Comedic Device
Gamers! vs. Grand Blue
The use of misunderstandings is somewhat refreshing in comedy because they’re usually relatable in some way. Whether you bring your boss something completely random because you misheard what they said and were too nervous to ask, or you throw a half used vegetable away because you misunderstood what your significant other wanted you to do while helping them cook and…

Gamers
Tumblr media
Keita Amano: personagem masculino.
Tumblr media
Karen Tendo: personagem feminino.
Tumblr media
Tasuke Uehara: personagem masculino.
Tumblr media
Chiaki Hoshinomori: personagem feminino.
Recomendo.
Até a próxima, bye.

‘Gamers!‘ was one of the anime that enlivened the summer of 2017 in the romantic comedy genre. Originally based on a light novel written by Sekina Aoi, the story was adapted into an anime by the Pine Jam studio. A fairly new studio, Pine Jam has appeared in front of the audience with anime such as ‘Just Because!‘ and ‘Gleipnir‘ in recent years, and it seems that we will see more of their anime series in the future. Funimation licensed ‘Gamers!’ originally aired on AT-X, Tokyo MX, Sun TV, and BS11 from July 13, 2017, to September 28, 2017. The series currently consists of only 12 episodes and only one season. The story of Keita, who is a game lover, was very much appreciated by anime lovers. Now fans are excited about a second season. So, will the series have a second season?1 What is the plotline of the anime?2 Will there be a second season of Gamers!?2.1 Light novel status in terms of the second season2.2 BluRay and DVD sales2.3 Other factors to see another season3 Gamers! Season 2 Release DateWhat is the plotline of the anime? The name of our main character is Amano Keita. Keita, a sophomore high school student, has only one love: playing games. Plays games from all platforms such as mobile games, consoles, PC. His favorites are RPGs and romantic-themed visual novel games. The lady of the series is Tendo Karen, the most popular school student, with her elite demeanor and high grades. Karen’s greatest passion is playing games too. She even managed to re-establish the school play club and became three people, including himself. One day, Karen approaches Keita. Everyone is surprised by this situation because the school’s favorite girl speaks to the nerdy Keita. Karen invites him to the game club. Keita gets excited but decides not to join after seeing the club. The reason is that the club members compete with each other instead of enjoying themselves. Of course, Karen is puzzled, and maybe she was rejected for the first time. After that, things start to get exciting and more in-depth. Apart from Keita and Karen, the game club’s adventures, in which three more people join, will be interesting. The Picture: @Crunchyroll Collection / YouTubeWill there be a second season of Gamers!?‘Gamers!‘ was released as a single season in the summer of 2017. Over the past more than four years, as of September 4, 2022, at the time of writing there has not been any confirmation for the second season. The animation studio Pine Jam or any related company has not renewed the anime for a second season. Animes may return with a new season after years, so we cannot call this time a cancellation, but we can get an idea by evaluating certain main factors. Factors such as story source material adequacy, popularity, and BluRay sales will determine the possibility of the new season. Let’s check anime’s second season chance.Light novel status in terms of the second seasonThe light novel that the anime was adapted to was written by Sekina Aoi and illustrated by Saboten. The light novel series published by Fujimi Shobo started broadcasting in 2015. This light novel, published in 12 volumes in total, was completed on 19 October 2019. The fact that it is not running anymore limits the number of seasons we are likely to see in the future. However, this is not the case for the second season. Fortunately, the anime’s first season covers the first 5 volumes of the light novel. This means we can see at least one more season. However, stock material availability alone is not a sufficient criterion for a new season. Those who do not want to wait for a new season can also continue the story by reading the light novel’s 6th volume.41%Manga adaptation rateBluRay and DVD salesPrevious season disc sales are important for us to see the next season of the anime. The current season is expected to sell at least 4,000 units on disc sales to reach the targets. When this number is reached, there is sufficient profit potential. But in the first season of “Gamers!” only 1514 units were sold and got ¥34.580.000 revenue. From this point of view, a second season of the anime seems unlikely. Let’s take a look at other factors.Other factors to see another seasonThe original production of the studio, “Just Because!” had seen 1700 in disc sales. This means that we cannot say that the studio’s most valuable product is ‘Gamers!’. If a second season is considered, Gamers will come later. However, the new season for both series is currently not in the plan of the studio. Anime ranked 290th on Myanimelist based on popularity. This score is not to be taken lightly. On Twitter, it has 35.1K followers. Still, we see that “Gamers!” is more anticipated on social media. However, none of the 7 anime productions of the studio, Pine Jam, which was established in 2015, have received a renewal. When the producers consider the current popularity, they still can give a chance to a new season.Gamers! Season 2 Release DateThe anime has not yet been renewed for a second season, but the light novel provides enough source material for the second season. Although anime is popular on online streaming platforms and social media, first-season disc sales were well below target, and it is not the studio’s most valuable anime. After three years, a new season does not seem likely, but we think we will see a new season with a 30% chance. The average production time is one year. If there is a renewal soon, we can see a new season late in 2023. We will keep you updated as official information becomes available.
