The first time I saw the Rig series of gaming headsets -- well before the brand was bought by gaming and accessory company Nacon -- I was so turned off by the aesthetic I didn't even take the headset out of the box. I powered through this time, and although I'm still not fond of the appearance, it's turned out to be one of my go-to headsets in why-doesn't-my-pc-see-my-wireless-headset emergencies.

You get a lot for the money. It's comfortable and relatively light with good 3D audio, pretty decent mic quality, good noise isolation and an inline volume control that's neither too far down the cable or too far up. The mic is both removable and flip-up, which you rarely see at this price.

The last generation of the headset got complaints about build quality, but I've been using it for months with no issues. Its flat rubber cable is a step up from competitors: Flatness makes it tangle-free and less susceptible to damage when I roll over it with my chair. To adjust size, there's a combination of three notches on the headband -- you basically pop out the earcup to move it, so if it comes under stress it just pops out -- and a basic suspension band.

It doesn't come with a headphone/mic splitter cable, a common omission in budget headsets, and the shortish cable isn't removable, but it's a good length if you're going to plug it into a controller for use with the Xbox. You do get a two-year activation card for a Dolby Atmos subscription (at least the last time I looked) for Windows 10/11 and Xbox One or later.

Prices occasionally jump up closer to $60, but I still think it's worth the money.

I prefer the V2 over the V2 X for its extra PC features, like support for THX Spatial Audio, microphone settings in Razer's Synapse utility and a USB dongle. The pricey choice for PC and PS5

If you feel like spending almost as much on a headset as you did for your console, Sony's own InZone H9 (the new PC-targeted line from its electronics division rather than the PlayStation folks) delivers great audio quality in an exceptionally comfortable design that matches the materials of the PS5. It has decent, non-fatiguing noise cancellation, a natural-sounding mic, solid battery life and simultaneous Bluetooth and dongle connections on both platforms. Bluetooth behaved a bit wonkily when I tested it, so if it matters to you, check user reviews before you buy to see if other people have encountered it.

Other notable gaming headsets we've tested HyperX Cloud II Wireless ($132): This is an excellent 7.1 surround headset that features HyperX's signature comfortable fit, which I ended up bumping from the list in favor of the Cloud Alpha Wireless because the Alpha's battery life is a huge distinguishing feature. Razer Barracuda X ($100): The performance, audio quality and design of the Barracuda X make it an excellent choice for cross-platform players. I wouldn't recommend the headset for cloud gaming, though. Razer refreshed it in 2022, boosting battery life to a rated 50 hours and adding Bluetooth for the same price. Razer Kraken V3 HyperSense ($130): Razer's updated haptic feedback debuted in this gaming headset -- it basically vibrates when the signal contains certain frequencies, in order to provide positional information and a more immersive experience. The new version improves upon its predecessor found in the Razer Nari line by being able to work without specific support within a game and the ability to choose from two intensities. It has the same great sound quality as the other Razer headsets with the TriForce Titanium drivers. But I suspect the haptic feedback is an acquired taste, though. Thus far, I've found it more distracting than immersive. And without game support it's too random; for instance, bass-voiced narration rumbles in a disconcerting way and it kicks in when I have mic monitoring on. Other issues I've had include it being a little too tight (especially with glasses), its THX Spatial Surround falling a bit short of other virtual surround technologies I've used, and the braided but thick cable tends to kink. I haven't given up on it, though, and am giving it another shot with its higher-end sibling, the Kraken V3 Pro.

EPOS Audio H3Pro Hybrid ($279): This former top-lister is a somewhat controversial choice overall, but even a lot of people who don't like the Epos gaming headsets in general tend to agree that they have great stereo audiophile-quality sound. Given Epos' kinship with audio veteran Sennheiser -- and unfortunately, the Sennheiser-level high prices -- one expects no less. I really like the H3Pro Hybrid headset, though, for gamers who don't need surround sound. The biggest problem with it is the barely adequate range the dongle gives it (about 16 feet in my testing) which may be a deal-killer for a lot of people. The software's kind of lackluster as well. But it's comfortable, sleeker than your usual gaming headset, has solid ANC and supports simultaneous Bluetooth and 2.4GHz connections.

Porsche Museum Sets Reopening Date

The Porsche Museum will be allowed to open to visitors again on March 16, 2021. As a precautionary measure against the spread of the virus, and above all for the protection of visitors and staff, the Museum has been closed to the public in recent months. “We wanted to be able to offer our visitors an unforgettable experience right from day one, so we made the most of the time during the closure to bring forward changes that had been planned for this year. For instance, we changed some of the exhibits, undertook modernization work and installed new interactive stations,” explains Achim Stejskal, Director Heritage and Porsche Museum.

A brief look back: while nurseries and schools were closed, and many were working from home, the Museum reacted quickly with Porsche 4Kids and exciting online experiences for children on the website www.porsche4kids.com. An equally welcome change to the day-to-day routine of 2020 was provided by the digital live tours on the 43rd International Museum Day on 17 May, where two guides held tours of the exhibition. From July to November, the Porsche Museum presented the first all-electric sports car Taycan as part of the “Start to Drive Electric” exhibition series in the “DRIVE. Volkswagen Group Forum” in Berlin. “We always tried to make the best of the past year. We therefore reacted flexibly to current regulations and always acted in the best interests of our fans and staff. Despite all of the challenges, even during the crisis we found new opportunities, and we are delighted now about the reopening, which promises many surprises, and two special exhibitions in 2021,” says Achim Stejskal in summary.

Porsche design DNA extends across all model ranges – and that of the 911 goes all the way back to 1963. Visitors now have the opportunity to experience the design DNA interactively. The “Consistent” station features six car models on turntables, one derivative for each model line. The exhibit combines classic exhibition furniture with 3D printing methods and optical sensor technology. When a visitor approaches the interactive turntable, all cars stop their pause loop and turn to face the visitor. As soon as the turntable under the 911 moves, the other Porsche rotate in sync. Meanwhile, red illuminated lines appear on all six models, which provide a visual depiction of the Porsche design DNA, and which are explained in detail on the Multimedia Guide. Rarely has it been easier to visualize the relationships between the model ranges by means of design lines. The interactive exhibition furniture will now be an established fixture of the permanent exhibition – in addition to the 80 cars and more than 200 small exhibits.

Every visitor now has the option of using a newly designed Multimedia Guide, which contains extensive information about the individual cars in the exhibition. In addition to a new camera and the Android operating system, the device now also features a larger display with Full HD+ resolution. The Multimedia Guide 2.0 is intuitive to use, and a children’s version is also still available for young visitors. The guide reacts very quickly, which makes it fun to delve into the wide range of content and to learn all about the exhibits through dynamic storytelling. In order to ensure that the information was kept up-to-date, the team produced new audio content for 210 vehicles, since the exhibits in the permanent exhibition are changed on a regular basis. Audio commentaries in multiple languages were added to video clips and existing media. Visitors not only have access to information, audio content and video clips about the different vehicles, but also engine sounds and historic images at the touch of a button.

For those looking for a real racing driver experience, there is good news: with the Porsche Racing Simulators, Museum visitors can now experience the true feeling of motorsport. Visitors can play games and race in E-Sports competitions at all levels of difficulty according to the target group. An extremely exciting experience is guaranteed by the curved screen, which is specifically oriented towards the driver, and the steering wheel from the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. The new Porsche Racing Simulator features high-performance pedals to make the response as direct and realistic as possible. The racing seat offers exceptional lateral support during cornering, while the D-BOX Motion System moves the driver in the dimensions sideways, up and down, forwards and backwards.

One of the biggest dreams of many Porsche enthusiasts is to take a seat in an actual Porsche. For visitors to the Museum, this dream can now come true – and they can even take home a souvenir photograph. Visitors who wish to have their photo taken simply take a seat in the car provided from the current model range. The photo booth was completely revamped during the closure. For example, there are now new backgrounds that place the visitor and car in different scenery by means of image cut-out technology. The desired backdrop as well as any photo filters are chosen at the collection station. You can then take a free print home with you and have the photo emailed to you so that you can share it on your own social media channels, for example.

To ensure that the exhibition is always showcased in the perfect light, the Museum team spent the past few months modernizing the ceiling lighting. The newly installed spotlights are an exclusive new development which consume only half as much energy while doubling the light quality. Moreover, heat emission has been reduced by around 50%, and the air conditioning requirement has also decreased. With a color rendering index of up to 96 − almost as high as that of sunlight, namely 100 − the new system allows the exhibits to shine more than ever before. All 560 motorized architectural luminaires are controlled with a single tablet. For individual events, the lights can be integrated into a staged show lighting scheme by means of a lighting control console. The “grandMA3” lighting control console is also used on some of the great stages of the world.

The new Corona Ordinance of the State of Baden-Württemberg of March 8, 2021 requires that visitors to the Porsche Museum register in advance, depending on the current incidence rate. When the 7-day incidence is between 50 and 100, advance registration is required.

Hypnovember 2020 Master List

Now that I have awoken from my post-Hypnovember nap, it’s time to post my 2020 Master List! in comparison to last year’s entries, a lot of stories this year delved more into either more intense kinks or more of my intense personal feelings than my stories last year did. Seeking voiceover talent for "Rain: Series III," a web-series, created in the video game Halo Reach on MCC via Xbox/PC. "This series will have a total of 13 episodes. I have many characters to cast, 12 specifically. If you wish to learn more about the show, you can check out my documentary series regarding the show. You can check out some of my work here - www.jkprising.com/ I've always wanted to return to my roots & finish a series I was never able to before, but now I have the time to focus on it. This is a paid position. Rates depend on each character as some have more lines than others & vice versa. I am not the wealthiest person in the world, but I will to compensate each voice actor for their performance. My budget per character is between $100 - $300. This again, all varies per character. In this post, there is a video of what the character will look like in the series. I have also attached a single page from a random episode script from the show. The highlighted lines are what the character will say. There will also be non verbal lines highlighted, this is meant to be voiced kind of like an anime, where every movement usually has sounds. Typically, how would you make a sound if you did any of the following, head turn, turns around, surprised gasp, sighs, etc. Since this a paid gig, I am expecting a professional voice audition & if hired, continued professional audio. This means minimum to no background noise. The audio needs to be crisp."

Chloe Moody (Voiceover): Female, 18-35WORK FROM HOME29. Voice type: English/United Kingdom accent, polite, doesn't get mad often but when she does, she loses it, anxious, low self esteem, hopeful. Chloe Moody used to be a psychiatrist, but after the death of her soon to be husband, she spiraled into insanity. She met someone later on in life named Tom Rains, who looked exactly like her dead boyfriend. She became obsessed with him & tried to get with him, which sunk her further into a deep depression. She finally hit rock bottom, which causes her to seek out help from the very people she used to serve. Chloe meets a psychiatrist named Jennifer, who is able to help herself almost fully recover. Chloe eventually accidently runs back into Tom, which triggers Chloe to try one last time. After a final rejection, Chloe comes to the realization that she is not redeemable & decides to take her own life in front of Tom. Chloe's death, triggers a massive event for Tom Rains, which has massive ramifications for the series. Chloe is a major character and will appear in a couple episodes.Languages:

Dark Daryl is very aggressive, sadistic & wants to destroy the people who wronged him in the past. Eventually, he comes face to face with Daryl & fights to stay as the one who remains in control, even if that means killing Daryl & anyone who gets in his way. Dark Daryl is a character who appears in the second half of the show, & becomes the series main villain. He will appear in many episodes.

Nikki is now dating Jennifer & they have been together for almost a year. Nikki eventually gets wrapped up in a major conspiracy, which drags many of her friends in with her. She is in for the story of her entire career. Nikki is a major character and will appear in many episodes.

Terry first got his start in the paranormal radio genre when unexpectedly thrust into taking over for another show. While working as a late-night rock n' roll Disc Jockey for an FM station in Buffalo, NY, in 1992, Reginald Wilcox, the host of the paranormal call-in show that aired after Terry's slot was mysteriously murdered while Terry was in the bathroom... or so he claims. In his unflappable sense of duty, apparently stronger than his sense of legal obligation, Terry immediately took over the role of consigliere for listeners stupefied by the supernatural. And in Terry's words, "that's how a legend was created." Now, after a three-year hiatus, Terry Carnation returns with a new podcast, also called Dark Air, available starting April 1, 2021, wherever podcasts are given away for free. While you may not have heard of him, there will be something uneasily familiar about his voice and visage.
