Thank you for saying Aldo is not good looking at all. Seriously, everyone fawning over his looks (El Cuartel and Luigi) had me thinking we, as the audience, were being bamboozled. The actor didn’t look so bad in other soaps, I think it’s just that he looked much older than Fernando and Lety? Also, I hated his voice lmao and if we include all the red flags of his character, no wonder many of us didn’t like him 😂 he completely robbed Lety of her character development, I will die on this hill. Michel displayed problematic behaviors, but at least didn’t play a huge role on the story until the very end. If Betty’s big proposal to save Ecomoda had been all about Michel’s project, I would’ve been so mad (I know this is simply not possible in ysblf because it’s about fashion and he is a chef whereas in lfmb it’s a production company, so they couldn’t go for the same idea as in the original version, so the door was wide open to come up with something that involved Aldo 😪).

Circa 2006, Vale and Camil were 31 and 33. Soler was 40\41. not very old. but weird that they cast him as the secondary love interest. im certain his casting was bc he reached a certain demographic (older women that like him). bc it certainly wasn't for the youth (women and girls 25 and younger were only in love with fernando\camil).

Aldo's styling is Committed Beach Bum to highlight his flowy, easy, not stressful lifestyle. (the beach jewelry too, ugh). If you notice Michel was not styled that way in Cartagena. He wears light colors, whites and blues (to highlight his frenchy white man blue eyes), his shirts are big and not tucked tightly or at all, he doesn't wear suits or ties. He's easy going, relaxed. (the complete opposite of Armando). Aldo looks like someone who's constantly telling himself to relax. There is something so forced about Aldo's entire character, fm the way the he's written, styled and acted.

It's like Soler himself didn't know what he was doing there, so he just acted like he would if he were a villain in a normal telenovela. There's a huge disconnect. Also, Soler isn't very attractive unless he has facial hair. (see Apuesta Por Un Amor, where he's decent looking.) (he's not my type, feel a need to stress that). (in both Ysblf and Lfmb, everyone fawns over Michel\Aldo and im like 'what am i supposed to be fawning over? men that need to moisturize more???)

I responded to an old ask here about Michel and what happens if he doesn't arrive at Ecomoda to trigger the events of BxA's reconciliation.

But Ocampo and Televisa were like 'well what if we don't let Letty heal and dont give her a make over and Aldo stays forever?'

Congratulations, now you have two protagonists that are stunted and a second love interest who looks like a villain out of a lifetime movie.

Letty was absolutely robbed of her character development when they decided Aldo was more important. Including Fernando.

I had to do some quick refreshing on Aldo and I came across the Fernando and Aldo fight outside of Conceptos.(must be noted that Aldo throws the first punch BTW). I completely forgot they had a physical fight. And after watching it I realized it was the Fernando\Tomas fight redone.

Because Fernando says something like 'he's just using you. he came here and followed you down here bc he wanted to use you for his business'. which is similar to things he says not only about nicolas but also daniel (idr what daniel's name is in lfmb). Anyway he digs himself into a hole and Aldo's like 'yes, bc i want to do business with her'. But he also throws in Fernando's face that he can say\yell out that he's in love with Letty and Fernando can't (And he doesn't). Which again, as we know in Ysblf, Cartagena Arc and after it, Armando doesn't care anymore about his appearance and all he wants is to be with Betty and love her openly.

And then moments before Fernando appears, Aldo tells Letty that he loves her and Letty says 'no, no it's not possible I'm ugly'. Which....I mean do I have to go into it? Do I really need to? She didn't get to heal. She still puts herself down. And now you have some guy she doesn't know saying he's the only one that can love her. (This actually IS a red flag).

If Armando had gotten into a physical fight with Michel, it would show that he hadn't changed. If Armando was challenged to say he loved Betty out loud in some public setting and then didn't do it, it would show he hadn't changed. If Betty hadn't healed and learned to love and accept herself, she wouldn't have the confidence to stand up for herself or run Ecomoda.

Letty and Fernando were robbed of those moments, which is shame because they have decent actors. I would go so far as saying that Aldo\Soler was given protagonist level priority because of his name and fame.

Literally Michel's only job was to give Armando competition and give Betty incentive to leave Bogota. He does display some red flags that, imo, are supposed to contrast with who Betty is now and also contrast with Armando. Betty is much more independent by the end, she doesn't need another man in her life telling her what to do. She needs an equal partner to support her emotionally. Michel wants to fix her, guide her, tell her what do do. ('Let me drive, drink this instead, take this job working for me). Armando wants another chance to show her that he wants what she wants.

Aldo never, ever, ever, should have been given a whole plot about needing Conceptos to help his gastronomy fair or whatever it is that he was doing. It could have literally just been 'I'm opening a seafood restaurant in mexico city. I came to say hi and also, maybe date you?'. They could have kept it at that and let Letty fix Conceptos on her own. There were other ways to make Aldo stay longer without taking away from Letty.

Since Concepto's is a production company in Lfmb, to make a connection\reference to Ysblf, Letty's idea could have been about promoting a suffering mexican fashion company's clothes and suggest to said company that the only way to promote their line is to open their market to every woman and then Letty's puts the cuartel in this said commercial and watch the sales go up. This is not a clear idea but it's better than gastronomy fair because it would give Letty agency.

In conclusion, Aldo should have drowned in the ocean devoured by the Acapulco waves, never to be seen again. And Angelica Vale deserved to showcase her dramatic acting talents instead of....all of that.

'40 españoles en cuarentena', producido por UEtv, se estrena en Telemadrid

UEtv, la productora de Mecanismo Editorial, estrena el documental '40 españoles en cuarentena' este domingo, 31 de mayo, a las 23.30 horas en Telemadrid, un software particular que narra la situación que están viviendo y las perspectivas de futuro de 40 personas, entre las que destacan actores, deportistas, cantantes o escritores.El trabajo muestra las inquietudes y sentimientos de los protagonistas a través de cuatro grandes bloques: nostalgia, dolor, resignación y futuro. Entre los personajes más reconocibles del documental se encuentran los escritores Antonio Muñoz Molina, Reyes Monforte, María Dueñas y Elvira Primoroso; los actores José Coronado, Macarena Gómez y Octavi Pujades; los cantantes India Martínez, Sofía Ellar, Álvaro Soler, Carlos Baute, Ramoncín o Huecco; el chef Mario Sandoval y el pintor Domingo Zapata, entre otros.'40 españoles en cuarentena' recoge las sensaciones y pensamientos de todos los protagonistas de este reportaje de presente, así como sus miedos y sentimientos enfrentados durante la crisis sanitaria del Covid-19.El responsable del Ámbito Audiovisual de Mecanismo Editorial y director del documental, Miguel Toral, asegura que se tráfico de un trabajo basado en sentimientos: "Nuestros protagonistas nos cuentan las cosas que han añorado durante el confinamiento, su dolor y tristeza al conocer todos los días las cifras de fallecidos por la Covid-19 y explican cómo afrontar el futuro tras la pandemia".Asimismo, Toral apunta que el objetivo es "mostrar a través de actores, deportistas, artistas, médicos o escritores los pensamientos que hemos tenido todos durante este confinamiento". Esta pieza croata de título largo es una invitación a participar de una ceremonia, sin estridencias, ni golpes bajos, ni solemnidad, sino con sutileza, sencillez y verdad, y con una mirada que subraya nuestra condición humana. Nos habla de los vínculos, de la vida cotidiana, de aprender a ser padres e hijos, de aceptar la enfermedad y la vejez, y fundamentalmente del amor, pero no de “ese amor de las novelas que dura 120 capítulos”, del amor de enfrentar una realidad que no nos gusta, que no es lo que esperábamos, hecha de imperfecciones, de rabias y paciencias.

Tuve el placer de disfrutar de esta  pequeña joya, que hace poco fue calificada como “un clásico del off”, por segunda vez (la primera vez fue en el Espacio Apacheta, su primera casa, allá por julio de 2015, en su primera temporada). Del primer encuentro recordaba las emociones que me atravesaron. En esta visita, ahora en la hermosa sala del Picadero (donde eligen muy bien qué obras conforman su cartelera), acaso desde otra perspectiva, pude volver a saborear el bellísimo texto, que brilla gracias a la puesta tan original como exacta de Guillermo Cacace.

Las actuaciones resultan extraordinarias, cada una con su aporte al lucimiento coral; se destacan Clarisa Korovsky y Pilar Boyle con sus pinceladas particulares y los toques justos de humor y vulnerabilidad. Párrafo aparte para Juan Tupac Soler y la maravillosa Paula Fernández Mbarak, que tejen el conflicto central con una fuerza y una fragilidad que logran tocar una fibra profundamente  conmovedora. Todo el ensamble se entrega a un intercambio abierto y auténtico de miradas y reacciones con el espectador, que alcanza una alquimia poco común en el escenario.

Sin dudas, cuando se da esta magia, el teatro es una caricia al alma que despierta nuestra sensibilidad, algo tan necesario como comer o respirar, especialmente en tiempos de corazas y armaduras. Esta obra es “una cuchillada de amor” como dice la canción, simplemente imperdible.

Calificación: Excelente

Se desarrolló el Primer Encuentro Regional de Policías Rurales

La Dirección de Prevención de Delitos Rurales de la Policía de Entre Ríos informa que se realizó en la ciudad de La Paz el primer encuentro regional de Policías Rurales que contó con la participación de las autoridades de las fuerzas locales como así de las máximas autoridades de las policías rurales  de Buenos Aires, Santa Fe y Corrientes. 

  También participaron el Secretario de seguridad de la Provincia Crio Gral (R)  Héctor Massuh, el Jefe de la Agrupación "V" Entre Ríos de Gendarmería Nacional el Comandante My. Hugo D. Tabares, el Senador Porvincial  Dr. Aldo Ballestena y el Intendente de La Paz, Bruno Sarubi. El evento fue presidido por el sr. jefe de Policía Provincia Crio Gral D. Gustavo Maslein, y contó con la presencia del Sub jefe de Policía - Crio. Gral. D. José Lauman. Disertaron  el Director General de Delitos Rurales "Los Pumas" de la Policía de la Provincia de Santa Fe, Crio My  Lic. Luis Alberto Magaz; el Jefe de Investigaciones Crio Supervisor Dr. Diego Constanzo, el Crio Supervisor Gustavo Mendoza y el Jefe de Investigaciones Crio Supervisor Darío Bled. 

También lo hizo el Director de la Superintendencia de Seguridad Rural de la Policía de la Provincia de Buenos Aires  Comisario General José Luis Quarleri, el Crio My Oscar Matías, el Sub crio Ezequiel Tonello y el Ofic. Inspector Nahuel Gallardi, también el Director General de Seguridad Rural y Ecológica de la Policía de la Provincia de Corrientes Crio Gral Walter Vidal Luque, el Crio My Claudino Sotomayor, el Crio Inspector Luis Alberto Sánchez, el Sub crio Miguel Ángel Soler y el Director de  Prevención de Delitos Rurales de la Policía de la Provincia de Entre Ríos Comisario General Hugo Claudio Mendieta, el jefe de la División Operaciones y Seguridad, Crio Inspector Gastón Silvetti y el Jefe de la División Investigaciones Crio Romualdo Ramírez. Se abordaron las operaciones preventivas y acciones investigativas del delito en zona rural. Como resultante de las diferentes ponencias, se concretó la realización de nuevas metodologías para la investigación del delito de carácter rural. El BCN Impro Fest, (BIF 17), és un festival que agrupa al col·lectiu de músics improvisadors de Barcelona i els permet mostrar totes les característiques, particularitats i diferències d'aquest tipus de música.

En la edició anterior 2016, hi van participar 40 artistes ben reconeguts, i aquest any tot indica que superarem la xifra en quantitat i qualitat, gràcies a la participació de grups com Jop, Memória Uno, Discordian Community Ensemble, Impro & Draw, OME Acùstic i artistes de nivell internacional com David Jackson (UK) , Llorenç Barber, Montserrat Palacios, entre d'altres.

Totes les activitats son d’ entrada gratuïta.

I read that you have also seen the mexican remake, and boy do I have many feelings about Aldo (and not the good kind) which in part made me appreciate that Michel's role was never expanded. He served his purpose perfectly well which was to give Armando a worthy rival for Betty's affections (even if she never felt that way about Michel). Aldo, however, was given too much importance even over Lety's character growth and development. For instance, her great triumph as the president of Conceptos was completely overshadowed by Aldo's involvement (in fact, the whole Turismo Gastronómico project was all about him) and to make matters worse, they make her, and Tomás, look like incompetents who couldn't notice that they had exceeded their budget beforehand thus officially failing in their roles to keep the company afloat (Betty and Nicolás would never tbh). And they did all of this to make the story even longer even if it was at the expense of the main character. In fact, while she was in a relationship with Aldo, she barely did anything for Conceptos and only remained the president because of Aldo's conditions (he says he acquired Conceptos' debt to set Lety free from her ties to Fernando and his family, but something about this whole thing seemed manipulative to me even if it was a great act).

The extension of the plot only benefited Fernando who did redeem himself and worked hard to get the Conceptos out of debt. Admittedly, Armando also needed a few more episodes of a redemption arc to be more sympathetic with the general public. Although, I do think that we could see his change for the better by the end of the series.

Anyways, sorry for the long essay but it's soo good to finally find someone who has seen multiple versions and has such great opinions such as yourself.

I completely agree with your statement that without all these extra episodes, it could have been an excellent remake.

I've only seen opinions via tiktok comment sections and theyre all horrible. Ive heard instagram and fb are worse. It's like they watched a completely different novela. Like, if you want to talk about who shouldn't have gotten the girl, i can pull out 10 different novelas from the 90's that fit that category.

RE LFMB: i was there. in the trenches. circa 2006. in the forums. helping my sister make lety\fernando fanvids. she using pando to download eps from mexico bc univsion was MONTHS behind what was airing in mexico. i was reading forum fanfiction, which is the worst way to read fanfiction. (Conchi from cuba, i think about ur lety\fernando letters once in a blue moon and im sad i never saved them). i was there when they started adding the filler eps fm the world cup in germany and then when they went Cuernavaca (and still didnt have sex). I was there to see them hire juan soler. I was there when they decided to not give her a makeover and just change her clothes but not really. i was there when they had tiziano ferro on as damage control bc he said some comments about women with mustaches. I was there when i realized that Aldo was never gonna go away. I was there when they did that jessica rabbit thing. I was there when they turned lety and fernando's wedding into a parade\concert special for all of mexico city. I was there for the rise and fall of it all.

I. was. there.

Aldo and his never going away was the worst thing to happen to LFMB bc it ruined Lety for the reasons u mentioned above. They dragged the story out and as a consequence of that they didnt know what to do. Lety and Tomas are economists--logically they never would have gone over the budget.

When Aldo said he would get conceptos out of debt for Lety....the forum went crazy bc now Lety would feel in debt to HIM. It doesn't free her. It was INSANELY manipulative. It was also insane to put him in a relationship with Lety, on top of that. It's similar to how in YSBLF, Armando feels in debt to Marcela and that's part of why he feels forced into giving the relationship another go.

Yeah, making it longer only served Fernando bc everyone felt bad for him bc he was openly pining for Lety and Lety looked like the bad guy bc she was with Aldo, on top of making really dumb jessica rabbit like decisions.

Ocampo and Televisa, for ratings and money hungry reasons, ruined Lety and took away a lot of her agency by making her so indecisive.

LFMB is not that bad, it's fairly good until a point. Lety and Fernando manage to come off as original despite being a mexican version of Betty and Armando. They're cute together. There's tenderness brought about bc they're both kind of immature. (Betty and Armando are the Original Sexy Couple, like that needs to be said and stated. Lety and Fernando aren't Sexy bc they come off as sad nerds who both have been deprived of love )

As I was saying, it's not the worst version. and it could have been so much better had they just followed the original storyline. You can tell they decided to deviate once Lety was in Acapulco, right when they start delaying her healing process and makeover.

I have mixed feelings about Michel (but that's another post) but I'll never dislike or feel the hate i feel for Aldo\Juan Soler, who we called 'Fishface' in our house and now whenever there's a love triangle with ugly guy, we call them 'Fishface'. A meme here for all the wrong reasons.
