We recently had the pleasure of visiting Adrián Fernández Milanés Studio @adrianfernandezstudio in New York City. 

 Due to the pandemic lockdowns, we were unable to attend the ‘Pending Memories’ 2020 exhibition at the Wifredo Lam Art Centre in Havana. But we this time we lucked out, and Adrián gave us a last minute private tour of his current studio in the Big Apple. We are thankful for his graciousness. 

 As always, his work left us breathless and generated so many questions: Is it about the past or about a near/distantfuture? It is history or science fiction? And so many disparate ideas come to mind: Utopia/Dystopia/Heterotopia, melancholy, memory, archives, hope, disbelief, Blade Runner/Planet of Apes, etc.

Zilia Sánchez Domínguez, a Cuban artist residing in Puerto Rico, has made her mark in the art world with her abstract paintings and set designs. Her unique style combines elements of sculpture and painting, resulting in three-dimensional canvases with minimalistic color schemes and erotic undertones. Her "Amazonas" series, a tribute to female warriors, is a testament to her feminist approach to art. Zilia Sánchez Domínguez, a Cuban artist based in Puerto Rico, is renowned for her abstract painting and set designing. Una actualización de la última ilustración en la que sigo trabajando. Mis responsabilidades como profesora de Historia del Arte no me permiten trabajar tan rápido como quisiera pero amo amabas carreras y a ambas le pongo lo mejor de mi.

Dibujo a bolígrafo - El Sr. Papidópilos tras un absurdo viaje de numerosas vicisitudes, llega al interior de una semilla y germina. Aquí florece en una especie de renacimiento metafórico que a todo el mundo sucede alguna vez en la vida.

Los que siguen mi página saben que mi instrumento favorito es el bolígrafo. Aqui una vez mas sigo mi instinto hacia la tinta.
