i think one thing that’s funny about ajin (aside from everything about it) is that if you only know about it from the anime or general cultural osmosis you think that kai is gonna be a secondary protagonist and our yaoi bait but when you read the manga it’s like no he’s. gone. for dozens of chapters. and then they just drop this other guy who looks kinda like kai if you squint into the narrative and he is Always there and fills that role instead. sorry guys the childhood friend is gone here is this kinda stupid random construction worker instead have fun

The motivations for this guy are so fucking funny. Low empathy antagonist. Likely has undiagnosed ADHD. Obsessed with games and gaming. Literally bails on his destroying Japan in its entirety plans because he got bored with blowing himself up with a fighter jet. Finds Kei and then tells him he got bored and he's going to go to another country cause he thinks Japan's gaming scene sucks rn. Doesn't actually really even care about politics or anything like that literally is just obsessed with the action of being at war because it's like a game to him and it's the only way he gets excitement, but he does genuinely like games too, and this is a major motivation for him so he's being completely serious here when he says this. That's why Satou is one of the greatest villains ever made. Literal, actual war crimes gamer grandpa

Got this keychain at anime con last year and finally put someone in it. Sato isn’t my personal favorite babygirl, I just think the look of this is really funny. Like imagine what people who’ve never read or watched Ajin would think when they saw this?

Actually my coworker did see this. He sounded extremely confused and scared when he said to me, voice cracking, “I— why does he have a gun???”

this panel is forever driving me insane. beyond the fact that satou took the time to make a miami vice reference in the middle of a firefight this line had extremely funny implications depending on how you interpret it bc it means that either

1.) he and his ibm share memories/information (most canonically probable)

2.) his ibm just. decided on its own to watch miami vice while he was letting it roam around

or 3.) he expended valuable energy for the express purpose of manifesting his ibm, sitting it down, and making it watch miami vice. while being hunted by the entire japanese government.
