#ALSO most people are genetically modified so they don't have to do normal human things whereas Reaper is organic and has to sleep and eat.

assuming octolings can grow their hair out, how would they cut it if it ever grows too long? like do they never cut or trim it at all? or are they expected to just cut it off to form a new octarian at that point?
Unlike with humans where our hair just grows infinitely, I think inkfish tentacles really only grow until a certain point proportionate to the rest of their body. So their tentacles wouldn't grow eternally unless they had some insane genetics - because the natural length your tentacles definitely varies on something like that.
This ask seems to go under the assumption that new Octarians are created solely when an Octoling's tentacle gets detached from the body. I'd really like some canon clarification for how exactly the creation of new Octarians works, but I don't like that explanation. Because we know Octarians come in a really weirdly large variety of shapes and intellect, if JUST getting a tentacle cut off always created a new Octarian, that would mean if you ever chopped a tentacle off by accident or just... liked having short tentacles, you'd also have 200 children out there. Which is also extremely immoral especially if you combine it with the "octarians grow up into octolings" -headcanon (which is incorrect), because how many people are going to cut off their tentacles and be like "oh yeah, i guess i'm raising quadruplets now". Yeah. No 14-16 year old is, and no one else is either.
My assumption is that tentacles don't just magically become new Octarians, but Octarians as we know them are a product of Octarian biotechnology. I would guess it was initially created to mass produce foot soldiers (or... arm soldiers?) for war, as tentacles are expendable and Octarians are said to be very diligent and extremely simple, at least the single-tentacled ones. Many of them have since been created for other tasks that you don't really need Octolings to do, like factory jobs. The social status of Octarians is kind of weird, because besides all of this, they're also shown to be normal citizens and there's even art book concept art of like, an Octarian mafia, and several other things in the series that confirm that they're also just people sometimes. But then half the time they're just mass produced soldiers that ink the same cubic meter of ground for like 12 hours straight waiting for Agent 3 to trespass. (i think this is canonically what they do too).
So a recently cut tentacle is used to grow the tentacle into a clone of sorts, which is easy and not that resource-intensive, because a tentacle cutting already has a lot of the stuff you need, including brain cells. So the shape of an Octarian really depends on how long it's been "cooked" and their shape can be highly modified to fit a specific battle role for example. But at its core, an Octarian is really a tentacle that's been tricked to try to regrow into what it originally was or at least what it was a part of (that being an Octoling), which is why some Octarians look a lot more like Octolings in terms of their anatomy, whereas others only had time to grow legs and the bare minimum of stuff like eyes and a mouth. They're mostly half-baked clones.
But back to the actual topic of the ask, I don't think a tentacle cutting automatically means you're giving birth to an Octarian. Most tentacle cuttings are likely either trashed or fried (rather fried, that's meat after all). With that being said though, most Octolings probably don't want to, or don't feel like they need to cut their tentacles. Every Octoling tentacle is much more prehensile and generally useful than the tentacles of Squids are, with squids having two longer tentacles primarily for striking and four smaller ones that are rarely that useful at all. Octolings however have naturally longer tentacles, and they can pretty much be used like arms, so many don't like to cut them off for no reason - and it obviously hurts, too. Fashion-based tentacle cuts really only recently became a thing among squids and it's even newer for Octolings.

Yea I forgot the story plays in like 2021, so I just wrote that Avatar comment bc man I love the second movie (I dont remember anything from the first), it‘s like 2am rn I am no night owl so I didnt use my brain much
ANYWAY, I am impressed the fam still believes they will get Donnie back bc I am losing hope lmaoo, also, interesting tidbit about the XXY chromosomes, will that be relevant in the future??
Honestly, the extension of the world of Avatar is smth really great about the second movie. Plot wise, I fear it might become repetitive if they dont think of smth for the next one. The emotions are 🤌🏼✨
Not really relevant to the plot, just something I thought of when I was looking up spiny softshell biology and trying to figure out how all that nonsense works.
Weirdly, Klinefelter's does actually seem to fit Donnie. I know they didn't, like, plan that, but it is funny that it happened with the turtle that had sex chromosomes before and therefore may have weird chromosome things going on already. (Splinter probably also has chromosome weirdness, but he was already past puberty and snipped, so his infertility didn't really matter)(they obviously have other chromosomes and there's other chromosomal issues that arise from mashing two completely different species together, but Draxum's ooze was made to minimize complications arising from that, and obviously the original Yokai who had significant genetic issues didn't pass them on) People with Klinefelter's are often taller with lower muscle strength, which fits his lankier build. They often have coordination and speech issues-check and check. It even fits my personal headcanons, with people with Klinefelter's being more likely to develop auto-immune disorders and having a low interest in sex. (Donnie's bi but he's got shit to do, he doesn't have time for that)
Also worth pointing out that it's not exactly Klinefelter's, because Donnie doesn't have two X chromosomes. He has the XY chromosomes from Splinter and a single Z chromosome from his turtle parents. The Z chromosome just occupies the space a second X chromosome would be and Leo confused it because it looked similar to an X chromosome. I have no idea how the whole 'chromosome mashing' thing works for Yokai overall, but while I can go ahead and say "mutants are allowed to have weird numbers of chromosomes that would normally result in severe health problems in humans because they're really not human anymore," it's a bit different for allosomes. In organisms that use sex chromosomes, aside from some organisms that use X0 or Z0 systems where the heterogametic sex just has the one, they all have two sex chromosomes. And there are issues if there's more than that.
There's some weirdness in the mutation process, some chromosomes get thrown out, some stay against their best interest, and sometimes the resulting mutant is a pile of tumors and meat. Draxum's ooze was modified to prevent most of the catastrophic consequences, but stuff still happens. I chose to say he has three sex chromosomes instead of four because trisomy disorders are generally pretty mild, while tetrasomies are usually much more severe and cause serious intellectual disabilities. Which doesn't fit Donnie.
(I don't mean any of this in a TERF bullshit way, I'm talking exclusively about what Donnie's got in his blood, he can be whatever gender he damn well likes)

Might as well start here- A brief introduction to my rp multiverse
Throughout each of my roleplays and short stories, I like to look at each of them as a different universe. There are infinite universes, with infinite numbers of differences ranging from the miniscule to earth-shattering. However, I have begun to weave specific "canon" narratives within a few key universes. These specific realities often focus on specific characters in each, but EVERY character (outside of fandom OCs) exist in each universe to some capacity, though their differences are often dramatic.
Some characters, like deities, powerful sorcerers, and void creatures are aware of the multiverse and can travel to different universes at will.
The trickster demon, Azrael, was powerful enough to create a pocket dimension bar that can be accessed from any universe- so long as you know the ritual to do so. He also is able to travel from universe to universe, but mainly relegates himself to two key ones.
Two versions of a character CAN meet one another, though that's never been recorded as of this point.
Time works oddly in the multiverse, as some universes will be eternally stuck in time periods that suit their "genre" while others will progress with our own.
The key universes of note are
- New Brookhaven, a Gotham City sort of town where the film noire style is key, but technology has progressed significantly. Monsters and humans have tension with one another and gangs struggle for control over the city. On the outskirts, the Shady Pines Sanitarium holds some of the most dangerous and unhinged individuals from the city, both in cells and on the staff. It's haunted halls are urban myth for those in the city who don't dare go near it.
- Vernia, A fantasy world with a rich history of magic and warfare. The kingdom itself is a beautiful seaside location, bustling with life of all sorts of species. Outside the gates, the enchanted forest leads to a myriad of other kingdoms inhabited by various creatures. This is the universe where the goddesses of the seasons reside the most.
-Cutopia, a dystopian future where the citizens are bound to embrace the "kawaii" culture. What began as a way to distract from the horrors of the outside has turned into a demented toybox for the rulers to play with as they see fit, with the citizens as their toys. Those not complying are hunted down by genetically modified secret police and sent to "cutification" centers, where through several processes, they're brainwashed into the happy masses. Secretly, a rebellion is brewing to usurp the leaders and bring free will back to the people.
- Universe Prime is a Slice of Life universe, where every character lives pretty normal lives. Even monster characters are pretty accepted here, like other races of humans. This universe is mostly used for romance roleplays, and often has very little magic.
Sometimes, event roleplays will shake up the multiverse and make things cross over. For instance, Lady Eleanor, a knight from Vernia, could end up waking up in a universe that is very much like our own, and completely out of place as she looks to get back home. Or, perhaps your character will be whisked across the multiverse to find true love thanks to a helpful deity (or demon). The possibilities for crossovers are endless, and are usually due to meddling from Azrael or another "multiversal being"
Some of the universes I talked about have data entries of their own to be posted at a later date, as well as original character info on those that inhabit these worlds.
Hope to see you in some corner of this vast expanse sometime soon!

Elaborate on the PSO2 races thing. How are they human trafficking victims?
Ok, SO! 👏 Strap in!
Let's start with some background. The races aren't actually "races". Rather, they're different KINDS of humans. Created FROM humans, in fact. There's regular humans, then there's Newmans, CASTs, and Deumans. The last three all stem from humans through experimentation.
So we'll start with Newmans. They are basically the elves of the franchise, with longer pointed ears and have a higher photon aptitude (basically they can use magic better than humans). They were created from experiments done 300 years prior to you joining ARKS. Through these experiments, the humans gained longer ears, which kind of act as "antennae" to gather photons for magic use, or to sense them.
Most of the Newmans you encounter were born as such due to being descendants of other Newmans, tho, and some have consented to the procedure before the start of the game. But their invention was a dark one, as the Photoners (the civilization of researchers who created ARKS) started experimenting on children and unwilling adults to get them.
CASTs are robotic in nature, but they're more like cyborgs. Most of their human tissue and bone has been replaced with state of the art bionics, making them look like human sized GUNDAM machines. The only human tissue left is their brain and their reproductive organs so they may bear children. As a result of their cyborgification, their physical attack power is somewhat higher than a human's, and so's their defense, although it reduces their ability to use photons. Badass, right?
Well... They, too, are victims of the Photoner's bullshit, not to mention their origin is rather sad. The very first one, Risa, was just a baby. But her photon aptitude was so incredibly high that she was at risk of tearing herself apart if she accidentally triggered a photonic reaction. So they turned her into the very first CAST.
Of course, being the first means she was a prototype, so she was... Unstable (in more ways than one). So the Photoners did what any normal scientists would do! Snatch up human babies and turn them into killing machines for research.
And then you have Deumans, who are a special case. They have a more drastically changed look, with their bodies gaining permanent tattoos, their eyes gaining heterochromia, and growing horns on their head. They're much more powerful than the other races, with a much higher strength and photon stat than the other three. Of course, that also reduces their defense significantly.
They're kinda like Newmans, but their creation is a bit more... Violent. Again, they were regular humans, just genetically enhanced with modified Draconian DNA. The only difference between them and the other two races is no one really chose to become Deumans, and the illegal experimentation was still happening behind the scenes by the time you joined ARKS, although not by ARKS itself. A leftover Photoner named Luther, who gained immortality through his experiments, was still carrying out these experiments through a backdoor shadow organization known as Void. And he has people funneling him test subjects, aka human trafficking.
The process of creating them is much more violent and complex, unlike Newmans. Their photonic aptitude is forcibly increased and stretched to a much higher degree, to the point where it's pretty dangerous if you don't have the willpower to handle it. You only know one person who got the treatment willingly, and that's because he went insane from hearing that his best friend died and wanted more power to kill the creatures that took her from him, which is something Luther used to manipulate him into consenting.
But yeah, the rundown of it is that the civilization of researchers known as the Photoners were a bunch of assholes. The entire game has you cleaning up after them pretty much. They literally held a child in a test chamber for all of his childhood because they wanted to know how he could control photons as good as he did, and their research stemmed from that. Newmans and CASTs in modern times are consenting to these operations now, but no one knowingly chose to become Deumans. The majority of these people were taken in their childhood for these experiments, usually through human trafficking.
Half of these experiments were a necessity due to the fact that one of the Photoner's experiments backfired and started consuming galaxies and they needed a way to fight back, but in the beginning and near the end it was a very morbid curiosity that led to continued use of human trafficking.

love how Nimbus was like "10 years probably doesn't seem that long to you" to our Guardian, age 8,
like tbf we've seen a Lot of shit and I guess you could argue they're talking to our Ghost too and he's what, a few centuries old? but still
also I seriously misunderstood all the pre-release info we were given about Cloudstriders. I thought they were genetically modified test tube babies who only lived until the age of 10 bc they had to age super rapidly or st. Instead it seems like people can volunteer for the position? I haven't finished the dlc and maybe I'm misunderstanding st
Rohan looks to be old enough that having at most 10 years left (do we know how long he had left before he sacrificed himself?) seems reasonable, but Nimbus is really young, so choosing to shorten their lifespan so dramatically (since humans normally live to be what, 2-300 after the Golden Age?) seems strange to me. idk maybe they thought it'd be better to fight while they're young and fit or maybe they have health issues that the mods help with and they decided it was worth it or any number of other things. who knows.
What even is the Cloudstrider's core anyway??? I gotta finish the story stuff but I really oughtta go finish work first so I don't get carried away again

On One Piece and talent
I've been thinking about this for a while but one thing I really really love about One Piece is the absolute, complete lack of talent and genius among the characters in the conventional sense of the words.
Don't get me wrong, they're all talented like crazy in their respective depratments but it's never the focus, never the main (or entire) defining part of their character. And more then that, they all worked their asses off to get where they are. And the all have flaws.
Is Luffy an amazing fighter with incredible charisma? Absolutely. He grew up on a mountain fighting tigers and boys 3 years older than him, training every day. He even had to train for 2 years to master his gift of Haoshoku haki and he's still learning. He is also stupid and an absolute dork.
Is Zoro a talented swordsman? Absolutely. He works his ass of every fucking day since he was like 8 or something. He is also stupid and has less then zero sense of direction.
Is Nami a genius navigator and cartographer? Absolutely. She studied navigation since she was a child and did nothing but draw maps for 10 years. She is also "a queen witch" with a money obsession (for obvious and understandable reasons).
Is Usopp a perfet shot? Absolutely. He practiced by himself since he was child. He also has major self-esteem issues.
Is Sanji a world-class, talented chef? Absolutely. He taught himself to cook, got training on a cruiser ship and then a lot more of intense training under Zeff and in Kamabakka. He is also incredibly weak to women.
I could go on with basically everyone.
The closest character to perfection I can think of is Lucci, but even then, the thing that's brought to our attention more than his talent is his ruthlessness and devotion to the world government. Him being a genius is mentioned basically in passing.
(There's also Oden who had been fucking people up since he was pretty much a kid but no one who talked about him cared about his talent. The important part that was brought to our attention the entire time we've known him was that he was completely incorrigible and a human calamity on Wano. He was always a considered a monster (kind of like Zoro is a demon) not a genius. Which is, somehow, both Oden's talent and his flaw.)
And to me, this particular part of One Piece is so so important. A lot--a vast majority, I dare say--of shonen manga/anime have at least one character that is a born genius who excels at everything and anything they do without really having to even try and whose talent is like 90% of their character, their only flaw being that they're too perfect to understand normal people. But Oda puts all the attention on the hard work that's behind the success, even with the ones who were "destined for greatness" -- we know that Lucci got rigorous training under CP9, even the genetically modified Vinsmokes got worked to the bone since they were toddlers. And all of them have flaws.
Actual flaws.
And I think characters like this are so important, inspiring and beautiful and I will forever thank Oda for appreciating characters for working hard to achieve their own dreams, with support from people who love them, instead of praising what was given to them at birth.
Disclaimer: this isn't by any means criticism on talented or gifted characters in media, they definitely have their place. This is simply me putting into words one of the most important aspects of One Piece to me, personally.

ohhhohoh... 1 and 16 for Ms. Donna Beneviento :>c and 21 for an OC of yours! wild card! your choice who it is!
DONNA :') who is both my wife and a character i identify strongly with. therapists please evaluate.
1- Favourites thing(s) about this character?
Back in May 2021, someone (i think trevor henderson) posted a screenshot of her 3d model from the model viewer on Twitter and I didn't even know anything about the game at the time and I was like.....oh......that's gonna live in my mind for the next fifty years. I love her design. Obviously, since i dress up as her, huehuehue. It combines some of my absolute favorite aesthetic elements: strong silhouette, Victorian mourningwear, death imagery, Japanese theater kuroko, and high strangeness. It tells you so much about her & Angie without any words needing to be said. Which, essentially, none are.
I also love what one can glean about her from walking through her house, which, may I add, is house goals. yes even the basement (especially the basement). The little ornaments, the crafting supplies, the two teacups in the reading nook, the mixture of cozy turn of the century elegant homeyness with a folksy twist & this kind of painful, quiet loneliness, this intense aura of dread. The whole time one is there, despite their nice surroundings, you feel this sucking black pit down at the bottom of your stomach and you know terrible things happened here.
A lot of the reason I identify so strongly with her is this sense of hiddenness, this repression, this covering-up.
a lot of folks say the house B section is boring to replay but I don't find that the case at all. The atmosphere is too strong for it to be boring even when I know the puzzles.
and i love that she's pretty and fashion goals shhhhh
16- What do you think would improve this character? Like, character-arc wise?
Honestly...I have no idea. Part of the impact of her segment is that she both is and isn't present, and that it is relatively brief. If it was longer, would it lose some of its power? I have a lot of thoughts about a potential backstory and what she does all day, and the precise nature of her powers/the Angie situation, but...
I don't know, I was about to say that maybe if the hallucinations were more bizarre and vivid, but seeing as the leadup to the baby is one of the scariest things I have ever experienced in my life (I think I yelled NO, NO, NO the first AND second times playing that) I can't really suggest anything better! Maybe a weirder boss fight? idk game mechanics w/e
Okay, self-indulgent answer is "entire game where you play as Donna during a normal day and you must navigate her self-induced nightmare visions where her entire tragic, traumatic backstory is revealed via allegorical hallucinations...while picking flowers", but that's just my fic Burial. shameless plug.
21- Wild card! Talk about anything to do with this character! Anything at all!
So in 2015 a friend and I started writing this astronomically stupid story entitled White House Black Market after the business casual clothing chain, which was intentionally a kind of mash up of X-Files, Gossip Girl, and the film Jupiter Ascending (later also a lot of other things, but that was the OG pitch). It involved a disgraced journalist uncovering a conspiracy regarding the president of the USA selling genetically modified human test subjects to an incredibly bisexual and hot alien king so he could save his people from a plague.
And then it spiraled out into this wild epic story involving ancient progenitor aliens, dead cosmic god-entities, the galactic government getting corrupted by the aforementioned president, archaeology, extradimensional travel, and secrets. And this one assassin character who was shamelessly based on Garak from DS9 and this art I once saw of General Hux from Star Wars as a sniper. His name was Janus Sicarius. And all this to say is I really miss writing this guy because he had the most heartbreaking backstory and worldview and I'm forever chasing that high with creating character backstories. none quite hit the same.
anyway.

You see, I'm perfect, my strength is perfect, and with that I shall bring equally perfect destruction through the rest of the universe."COMBINE YOUR STRENGTH! THE FINAL KAMEHAME-HA!"
Cell (セル, Seru) is the ultimate creation of Dr. Gero, designed via cell recombination[1] using the genetics of the greatest fighters that the remote tracking device could find on Earth. The result was a "perfect warrior", possessing numerous favorable genetic traits and special abilities from Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Frieza and King Cold.
He was one of the few Red Ribbon Androids not directly completed by Dr. Gero, instead being completed by Dr. Gero's Supercomputer in an alternate timeline. He is the main antagonist of the Imperfect Cell, Perfect Cell, and Cell Games Sagas.
Appearance
Some initial sketches of Cell (Daizenshuu 4)As a being with several transformations, Cell's appearance varies depending on the form he is in.
In his larval form, Cell resembles a large four-legged cicada with long, V-shaped horns on its head and a face similar to that of the remote tracking device.
In his Imperfect form, Cell has transitioned to walking upright and has a humanoid shape, but retains many insectoid features from his previous form, including his horns, beak-like mouth, three-toed feet, and segmented armor. In this form, he has sprouted wings similar to those of a beetle, along with a long tail affixed to the middle of his back that ends with a "stinger" used to absorb other life forms.
In Semi-Perfect form, obtained after absorbing Android 17, Cell's wings disappear, and he becomes more humanoid and muscular in appearance. His horns now point upward and form a crown shape, and his face, though possessing a comically large-lipped mouth and lacking a nose, has taken the general shape of a human face. Cell's feet lose their toes and instead resemble shoes, though his tail remains much the same as it was in his Imperfect form.
Cell becomes fully humanoid in his Perfect form gained from absorbing Android 18, complete with a normal nose and mouth. His tail has been completely retracted, only the stinger remaining. This form is somewhat shorter and lighter than the previous one, being 7 feet in height. His wings have grown back, but he retains the shoe-like feet and upward-pointing horns from Semi-Perfect form. Purple stripes now run down each side of his face, similar to those of Frieza in his first three forms.
While Perfect, Cell can take on a Super Saiyan Third Grade and Power Stressed form, each similar to his base Perfect form but with grossly enlarged muscles and, in the Power Stressed state, greater size.
Cell also possesses a Super Perfect State, identical in appearance to his Perfect form, but with the added electrified aura of a Super Saiyan 2.
Personality
You fool! Don't you realize yet you're up against the perfect weapon?!"SAVE THE WORLD"
Cell has an original personality engineered by Gero's computer to combine the character traits of his genetic constituents which would be most useful for a perfect weapon.[2] Because his genetic composition includes DNA from Goku, Vegeta, and Piccolo, he is aware of their weaknesses and is therefore able to exploit them in battle. However, Cell's overall personality changes drastically with each transformation.
Initially, Cell is completely single-minded in the pursuit of his goals and is very cautious, sneaky, cunning, knowledgeable, and calculating in achieving his main goal of perfection. Upon reaching his first transformation, he becomes far more brash and impulsive in his actions, relying less on strategy and more on brute force, often becoming clouded and losing his ability to think rationally when things don't go his way. However, he does retain at least some degree of a strategic mind, as he got the idea to exploit Vegeta's arrogant desire for a challenge to manipulate him into allowing him to absorb 18. Upon reaching perfection, Cell displays a number of traits shared by those whose cells he possesses; Piccolo's cunning, Vegeta's pride, Goku's laid-back disposition, Frieza's smugness (as well as some of his psychopathy), and the Saiyan lust for battle. In this form, he is also shown to be very calm and genuinely polite, albeit arrogant, until he loses the upper hand in combat. Ironically, the arrogance Vegeta displayed to allow Cell to achieve his perfect form was the same that Cell used to force Gohan to awaken his hidden powers, leading him, as it had led Vegeta, to his own downfall. Another of Cell's most distinguishable traits in this form is his uninhibited vanity, which he shamelessly displays by launching the Cell Games, a tournament organized solely to show off his newfound power. It's also obvious during Cell's confrontation with Gohan when he affirms his true purpose: the annihilation of anything he considers imperfect--everyone and everything but himself. When he is outmatched, however, he quickly becomes desperate and loses his rational approach, making several critical mistakes.
As Imperfect Cell, Cell is completely single-minded in the pursuit of his goals to complete his evolution, as he is extremely eager to discover what attaining perfection would feel like. His desire is to absorb both Android 17 and Android 18. Imperfect Cell is very cautious, sneaky, cunning, and calculating; he does not chase after the Androids directly since he knows he cannot beat them before he absorbs enough human energy. Although obsessed with attaining perfection, Cell was willing to temporarily put aside his plans to absorb 17 and 18 if it meant that he had to deal any possible threat to his plans, as seen how he chose to dispatch Piccolo and attempted to do so with 16 rather than immediately going after 17 and 18.
However, despite his usually cautious and savvy nature, Imperfect Cell could still be seen to be somewhat arrogant and narcissistic, seen by how he openly revealed his plans to Piccolo when under the impression that he had won.
After he achieves his Semi-Perfect form, Cell no longer cares about absorbing other creatures, and becomes obsessed with finding Android 18 to complete his quest for perfection. He also becomes slightly more arrogant and narcissistic because of his power increase, as well as rash and impatient. His arrogance is short-lived though; he is easily outclassed by Vegeta's Super Saiyan Second Grade form. After finding that his Semi-Perfect form is no match for his opponent, Cell convinces Vegeta to allow him to absorb Android 18 to attain the Perfect Form (which he is able to do as he appeals to Vegeta's ego and the natural Saiyan drive to fight stronger opponents, both of which Cell is aware of, as he possesses Vegeta's cells). He is also prone to tantrums when things don't go his way. This is best evidenced when he was unable to find Android 18 and proceeded to blow up several islands in an attempt to force her to come out, not caring if his energy blasts resulted in her destruction if she tried to continue hunker down.
According to his bios in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 and Budokai Tenkaichi 3, in his new form, he seems to feel that he is the most powerful living specimen on the planet, and it is suggested that this arrogant attitude may have been influenced by Vegeta's genes (meaning Vegeta's cells may become more prominent while in this form, which seems to be supported by the fact he uses at least two of Vegeta's signature moves in this form, albeit only in the anime: Galick Gun and a modified Big Bang Attack). It may also be due to his absorption of Android 17 and the genes of Frieza, both of whom are very egotistical, arrogant, narcissistic, and intolerant of the idea of anyone being better than themselves. To further support the notion of his superiority, Android 16, who barely survives his brief encounter with this form of Cell, thinks to himself that there should be no one in the universe ready to challenge him at this point (and that it is odd how he is still so obsessed with achieving completion), until this preconception is shattered by Cell's embarrassment against the self-proclaimed "Super Vegeta".
After absorbing No. 18 and becoming perfect, Cell becomes significantly more arrogant and narcissistic in this form, due to the massive increase in power. After attaining the perfect form he had long desired, Cell admitted to Trunks that he had found himself with no other purpose, even killing Goku, which was Dr. Gero's intended purpose for Cell, did not seem to satisfy him. Thus, he saw his Cell Games as the opportunity to discover a new purpose; to test his new-found power. This could also be attributed by his own vanity.
In this form, Cell gains Frieza's polite mannerisms (though without the snide sarcasm) and ruthlessly sadistic personality, relishing in seeing people terrified, as he admitted to Future Trunks when he revealed his intention for the Cell Games. This was further shown in the anime, while waiting for the Cell Games, he chose to terrorize the people of Earth simply for his own amusement. Akira Toriyama himself surmised that the concept behind the Cell Games may have been influenced by King Piccolo's cells which makes sense as King Piccolo also enjoyed terrorizing the people of Earth in a similar manner and both broadcasted their evil intentions on television just to instill fear into Earth's population. Thus he possesses the villainous traits from King Piccolo, Vegeta, and Frieza.
Much like Goku, Cell seems to take on a carefree and laid-back attitude, not losing any form of his composure until he was faced with the prospect of a being stronger than him. Cell has adopted Goku's, as well as Vegeta's, desire to battle strong opponents, which was another purpose of the Cell Games. The fact that prior to facing Super Saiyan 2 Gohan, Cell still chose to hold back his full power, Cell was willing to handicap himself in order to challenge his own limits. Despite this, however, if Cell finds that his opponents were not adequate challenges, he would not hesitate to finish the battle quickly or discontinue it, reflecting his arrogance. Before fighting Gohan, Cell saw Goku as the only worthy opponent and displayed excitement when fighting him. Cell even expressed discontent and outrage when Goku had decided to forfeit his battle against Cell.

Interviewing the Flock, featuring: Comeneth
Zach: What would you like me to call you?
Comeneth: My username works
Zach: Fair enough.
Zach: What do you think about Sister Claire?
Comeneth: Starting with hard hitting questions right off the bat? okay:
Long and short of it, I love it, mostly because of Oscar.
There's not a lot of trans representation, so when I find good trans representation that instantly makes me enjoy a piece of media that much more. When Oscar was my favorite character that just made it better.
Also this comic is queer as hell, which is something I appreciate considering I'm also queer as hell and there's a lot of stuff that's just completely straight and that gets pretty dull.
Zach: That is a good way to put it. Do you have another piece of media you enjoy with good trans representation?
Comeneth: The only other piece of media that I know of with any trans representation at all is a book series called Dragonoak, which I love.
Zach: Sounds pretty fantasy-tic.
Comeneth: It is. It's about a (gay) necromancer who runs away from home because she's shunned for her powers with one of the kingdom's thirteen knights and they go off and have lots of (gay) adventures.
I still haven't read the third one yet, it's sitting on my kindle waiting for me not to be a lazy ass.
Zach: This sounds amazing and I am now interested more. Do you think you prefer High Fantasy or Low Fantasy?
Comeneth: Would you consider urban fantasy to be Low Fantasy? Regardless, I like High Fantasy; mostly I like stories that are far removed from the bounds of normal constraints.
Zach: I'm just happy I'm not a fool for tossing archaic terms at you.
Comeneth: Most people understand the term High Fantasy.
Zach: On this same line of thought, if you could live in a fictional world neither from Sister Claire or your own creation, where might you go?
Comeneth: Gimme a moment to think
-A moment is given-
Comeneth: There's a lot of options but I think the world of Always Human appeals to me the most.
Zach: I am honestly not familiar with that, care to share?
Comeneth: Sure!
Always Human takes place in the unspecified future. It's a time where humans are capable of genetically modifying their bodies. Just a very peaceful world.
Zach: So there's no distinguishing markings that come accompanies with shame or disappointment because anyone can have the body they would like?
Comeneth: Basically. It would also allow a person like me to mod their body into something that suited them. And It's just a very beautiful world.
Zach: It certainly sounds like it.
Zach: Onto a funny question potentially: What is the story behind your username? Does it tie in with your avatar?
Comeneth: My username is the name of a character I created in 7th grade. Initially Comeneth was a god of dragons that was banished to space and would shoot comets from his mouth in fits of rage during his exile. Over the years he's still remained a dragon, but he's very different now.
And it has *nothing* to do with my icon.
Zach: Comeneth was a dangerous dragon, was he now?
Comeneth: well he did lead a rebellion against the other gods so I'd say so. Even in his current incarnation he's still dangerous but less angry.
Zach: His rage seems a little reasonable, then.
Zach: Why did you pick your icon [of Sailor Jupiter]?
Comeneth: Because I like Sailor Jupiter. Honestly she's kind of #goals for me.
Zach: Alright, bam. done. best answer, moving on.
Zach: So saying you get booked at 2am, and tossed in an overnight cell to cool off. What were you charged with?
Comeneth: My only guess would be that it was a bullshit arrest because I'm either on the computer or asleep at 2 am.
Zach: "Trick question officer, I was asleep at the time and my computer can vouch for my alibi!"
Comeneth: "Check my internet history"
Zach: Alright, now I'm going to ask you a question that I don't have prepared. Instead it's randomly chosen from a book of them. Would you be willing to eat a bowl of live crickets for $40,000?
Comeneth: Depends on the crickets
Zach: Let's say ice cream bowl, not salad bowl
Comeneth: If they're camel crickets, no way in fucking hell they are disgusting. But like, regular crickets, sure
-granted the moment I take a bite they ain't going to be alive anymore-
Zach: Good way of looking at it, and a good caveat, I like it.
Zach: You ready for the last question? What did you believe you wanted to be or do when you grew up?
Comeneth: The earliest one I can distinctly remember is the one I'm going to go with. Okay so, have you ever heard of the Kratt brothers? When I was a kid, they had a show called Kratt's Creatures. it was basically Chris and Martin Kratt going all across the world and talking about different animals.
One episode they'd spend it all on elephants, and then another they'd talk about bears.
Stuff like that.
And I thought it was the coolest thing to go out in the wild and see all those cool animals. I wanted to do that.
Zach: Do you think you could do it now?
Comeneth: No, I've regrettably become a creature who prefers a stable environment that cannot be provided in the outdoors. But the show did instill a life long love of animals so it will always hold a very special place in my heart.
Zach: So you're saying that when we can plug USBs into trees of the Serengeti for Wifi coverage, I should give you a call?
Comeneth: More like when I can walk through a tropical rainforest and I won't feel the humidity; I can survive without the internet, but terrible weather conditions just leave me in a foul mood. I get miserable if it's too hot, cold, humid etc.
Zach: *To do list..... Develop personal weather bubbles...
Zach: Well this has been a treat to sit down and talk with you! Thank you very much for being the first interview.
Comeneth: Yay! This was fun. I kinda thought there were more questions than this but oh well!
Zach: There were, I just didn't want to hit everyone with every question. Plus this opens people up to asking questions they weren't asked to each other!
woooo conversation starters woooo
**runs off into the night making woooo noises and occasionally running into trees**
Comeneth: *nods sagely from the porch* They'll be back.
