For ANYONE complaining about the writing of the newest specials, please I am begging you, go back and rewatch the s3 finale. Rewatch The Sound of Drums and rewatch Last of the Time Lords. Bi-generation may be ham-fisted but it's not "Martha Jones wanders the whole globe for a goddamn year and gets humanity to create a psychic link with the Doctor and all shout his name in unison at the specific right second, allowing him to go super saiyan for a minute." It's not "The Doctor was unironically planning on keeping the Master as a pet for as long as they live."

Having watched the finale of both the 60th anniversay specials and season 3 today, I can say The Star Beast and Wild Blue Yonder and The Giggle are no where near as batshit insane as the s3 finale. If you're saying "RTD used to be good, these specials are so campy, that ending was so forced," I'll tell you: RTD has always been like this. RTD erased an entire year of history just so he wouldn't have to deal with the consequences of the monsters he created. RTD made the Doctor float off the ground T-posing like jesus because he couldn't write up another way to get the gang out of it.

If you think bi-generation is bad, just look at what we've already got.

Fire is such an interesting symbol for Donna

We all know that fire symbolizes destruction, purification, and consumption in myths and stories. In S4 already they compare the Doctor to the sun and the metacrisis energy as some sort of flame...My question is—can fire destroy/purify/consume no-thing! Donna? Fire destroy THINGS, and no-thing is...not. They don't have forms, essence... No-thing! Doctor says "when sth is gone, it keeps existing." Does this also refer to the no-things? Or the metacrisis energy?

If we take the metaphor seriously (I think we should, because RTD keeps hinting it) that metacrisis energy is like fire (at the end of this episode, Donna says again "it's like looking into furnace"), letting fire go is not gonna extinguish it. Why does Donna still know what it feels like, as if it's still there? In a sense, 10th Doctor's "wiping her memory" thing is like taking away oxygen and letting it die down.

RTD brings another motif for the 60th anniversay, which is the whole "glass screen??door? motif". Does it have sth to do with the whole fire motif/symbol?

I’m watching Doctor Who for the first time, a bit out of order, read the Wikipedia so I know most of what all happened, and have gotten obsessed with ten/donna. Upside? I get to look forward to the 60th anniversary! Downside? I. Still have to watch the Rose seasons

Welcome to the Ten/Donna corner of the Doctor Who fandom.

I can certainly understand you wanting to know what will happen; especally as the source has been out there for a number of years now. [Okay, I could tell you how long ago S4 started/ended, don to the number of years, but I'm pretending to be 'normal' here].

There are just some character dynamics you fall in love with, and others that you don't. While some make you squirm in second-hand embarrassment - which is a major reason I avoid S2 - but each to their own. And technically, you don't have to watch the Rose seasons. Although I must say, Christopher Eccleston is definitely worth watching as the Doctor, even if you decide to skip through other bits of the episodes.

Oh yes, about the 60th anniversay episodes!! It also means that they are bringing out new novelisations of the Ten/Donna episodes - a thing that was unimaginable back in 2008, because somebody *eyes them* decided we didn't want more Donna. Luckily, they've been proven wrong since then.

Anyway, I hope you continue to enjoy your latest obsession, and you are welcome back here anytime.

Julianna Margulies, David Schwimmer and Debra Messing are among over 260 actors and other industry figures to sign an open letter demanding the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences include Jews in its representation and inclusion standards.

The letter, published Tuesday by the JITC Hollywood Bureau for Jewish Representation and shared exclusively by TheWrap, said that “an inclusion effort that excludes Jews is steeped in antisemitism and misunderstands it.”

HOW FUCKING DARE THEY?! These actors are ALL where they are, because of their heritage and connections. Make no mistake. Anyone with a brain can look at Hollywood and see who is on top.

Most if not all of the Academy board are Jewish.

The Writers Guild aka WGA apparently has so many Jewish members, they were able to bully SAGAFTRA into publicly announced support for Israel.

Not ONLY are many, many actors today, Jewish, we have seen some performers (Think Argentina President and Whoopi Goldberg etc) convert, as though there were some hidden rule that you have to do so. Or, like Emma Stone, hide their Jewish heritage. This doesn't even count the different mob outfits at work.

In addition, this year's Oscars had a definite Jewish theme. Just to give you a taste:

1. Oppenheimer, Jewish guy blows up 1000s of innocents. pre-WWII

2. Killers of The Flower Moon, felt gratuitous as hell. pre-WWII (Read the Talmud)

3. Another Holocaust film, Zone of Interest

4. The Gender Ideology Cult, based on Hebrew Paganism; current state of Hollywood. Weimer, pre-WWII

5. Barbie, based on the Bild 'Lilli' doll from a German magazine. LILITH is the name of a demon from the Hebrew Bible. This also explains the Sam Smith publicity stunt, where he claimed HIS song, represented Barbie. All of the Pink, the color assigned Gay men in WWII. Neat little sneak in.

6. Yorgos Lanthimos, known for Incest and underage Sex films, did Frankenstein. If you're a follower, you'll recall why that's important.

Finally, Mizz Margulies pulled an Antisemitic stunt, to help Israel, just recently AND I found out she did the voice of the alien on that horrible Doctor Who 60th Anniversay which pushed Transgenderism at kids and was Anti-Male. These people dangerous. Something is very wrong, right now.

Faye Wong Cherishes Teresa Teng’s Memory On 18th Anniversay Of Her Death (2013)

On May 8th, 1995, Taiwanese superstar Teresa Teng died from a severe respiratory attack in Thailand. 18 years later, Faye Wong expressed her gratitude towards the signer.

Faye Wong cherished the memory of the beloved singer by posting a short message on her Weibo account. "Thank you for having been there at all. May your beauty continue on," she said.

A memorial concert for Teresa Teng will be held in Beijing on May 19th at the Capital Indoor Stadium. Faye Wong will be performing 4 of Teng's songs at the concert, including "Qing Ping Diao", "Du Shang Xi Lou", "Shui Shang Ren" and "Wei Feng Xi Yu".

The upcoming commemorative concert was put together by Teresa Teng's older brother Deng Chang Fu, the chairman the Culture and Education Foundation. In addition to the Beijing concert, another concert is being held on May 12th in Taipei.

Teresa Teng is one of China's biggest artists of all time. The singer found popularity across all of Asia with her love songs, particularly during the 70s and 80s, leading to the saying "Wherever there are Chinese people, the songs of Teresa Teng can be heard."

Faye Wong sang 4 songs in memory of Teresa Teng: She is my teacher of enlightenment

Last night, Teresa Teng’s 60th Birthday Commemorative Concert was held at the Beijing Capital Indoor Stadium. Many singers such as Faye Wong, Yu Quan, Mao Ning, Peng Jiahui, Zhang Liangying, Cao Ge, Xiao Jingteng, Ping An, etc., appeared to commemorate Teresa Teng. The large screen incorporated videos of Teresa Teng’s life. Memories of many years ago were brought back to the audience in a blend of singing and pictures.

The concert started with two Teresa Teng masterpieces: "Evening Primrose" and "See the Chimney Smoke Again" by singers Wang Jing and Chen Jia. When the third singer Tong Yao appeared, the audience suddenly burst into applause because Tong Yao's appearance, hairstyle and voice were similar to Teresa Teng. The first small climax of the concert happened when Xiao Jingteng took the stage. He sang Teresa’s four songs in his unique and affectionate voice, including the classic song released in 1986: “I Only Care About You".

After Xiao Jingteng, veteran rookies such as Ping Jiahui, Peng Jiahui, Mao Ning, Cao Ge, and Zhang Liangying took the stage one after another, bringing Teresa Teng’s “The Moon Represents My Heart”, “High Mountain Green”, “Do Not Pick Wildflowers by the Roadside”, “If You Can”, “One Wish", "Naihe", "Haiyun", "Yuanxiangren", "If I am Real", "Yunhe", "Sweet Honey" and other works. The emotions of the audience followed these memorable melodies. The atmosphere in the venue was sometimes somber and sometimes lively. The singing made the space and time shuttle between reality and memories. Teresa Teng has been gone for 18 years, but people have never forgotten her name.

Faye Wong, the penultimate performer, was the biggest attraction of this concert. Before Faye Wong even appeared, the audience had already burst into applause in anticipation of her appearance on stage and people shouted her name. At this time, the venue was filled with the singing voice of Teresa Teng’s unfinished work "Qing Ping Diao". When the song was halfway through, Faye Wong slowly came up from a rising platform in the middle of the stage in a bright silver dress. It was somewhat similar to Teresa Teng's later style. The Chinese singer fulfilled her longtime wish of singing with Teresa Teng through a virtual performance at the late idol’s memorial concert

Faye Wong paid tribute to her late idol Teresa Teng at the latter’s memorial concert held in Beijing two days ago.

During the concert, which marked the 60th anniversary of the birth of Teresa, Faye appeared on stage while a video of Teresa performing her song ‘Qing Ping Diao’ played on the big screen. Facing the big screen while singing ‘Qing Ping Diao’, Faye fulfilled her longtime wish of singing with her idol through the virtual collaboration.

According to the Taiwanese media, the Chinese singer used to be in the same record company as Teresa and saw the Mandopop legend as her idol. It was said that Faye was initially supposed to collaborate on a new song with Teresa, but the plan was disrupted by the latter’s sudden death.

While performing the song ‘Du Shang Xi Lou’, an emotional Faye told the audience, “Teresa was my mentor who brought me into the music scene.” After the song ended, Faye accidentally missed a step and almost fell down while walking down the stairs; the singer picked herself up and laughed in embarrassment.

Other artistes who performed at the memorial concert included Taiwanese artistes Jam Hsiao and Peng Jiahui as well as Chinese singer Wang Jing. The artistes relived the memories of the well-loved late singer as they performed their own renditions of Teresa’s classic songs. Wang Jing, who has been dubbed the “little Teresa”, impressed the crowd with her beautiful and sweet voice as she performed one of Teresa’s most well-known songs ‘Ye Lai Xiang’.
