#saw a post about clarissa from the new pjo show and top comment is like ‘why does she have RINGLETS she would not be doing all that’#*clarisse #i dunno girl maybe it’s just naturally curly #like people post these ELABORATE hair care routines they do to make their hair look curly #so people watch and assume everyone with curly hair that isn’t 4c does the same #no curly hair doesn’t automatically mean you painstakingly style it every day. i’m on day two hair rn it looks wonderful #and i only put non frizz stuff in #i also dislike calling it ringlets it’s just curls call it curls #this is unrelated but once a girl told me she thought i was jewish bc i have curly hair. bizarre

It was so funny growing up in a time when anything but perfectly flat straight hair was considered ugly as sin and constantly being pestered about it only to realize as an adult that my hair really isn’t even that curly.

#partially it’s just because it’s so short nowadays and partially because my girlfriend has 4c curls but still #they couldn’t even handle my white ass curls

saw this video by an "influencer" saying shit like "it's ok if u hate your curly hair :)" and. it didn't feel right to me. I'm sorry but if you hate your curly hair first of all I think you should think WHY in the first place you hate your hair this much cause I don't think it's a personal preference at all... especially now with Y2K trend coming back, I've seen a lot of people using straight hair again and giving up on hair transition saying it's hard to maintain a curly hair (as if using a curling iron and keeping it straightened isn't a difficult thing to do every day lol) and honestly it feels so :/ to me.

I used to think like this as well but I don't anymore cause I realized the reasons why I disliked my hair and how easy it is to keep it pretty after I accepted it and I really wish there weren't ppl saying it's ok to hate it cause I don't rly think it is...

#its a complicated matter but if anyone has different opinions I'd like to talk about it #y2k trend it's the worst.. veeery skinny body + straight hair #i just wish my girlies liked their amazing curls from 3a to 4c they're all stunning <3
