Sometimes I remember that Logan Sargeant, Robert Kubica, Nyck de Vries, and Fraco Colapinto all did the same 4 Hours of Red Bull Ring race in 2021 and all were in the same category. Plus all 4 were on a podium of somesort and it was Logan Sargeant's debut race where he got pole.

Rebounding from two laps down early, the N°33 Chevrolet Corvette C8.R fought their way back to the front of the LM GTE-Am field to win the 2023 WEC 24 Heures du Mans for Corvette Racing.

The race is going on and after 5 hours I have to say that I was looking forward to this race this year and thought it will be great, but really? It isn't great, it is the best race I've seen in... I don't know, since the 90's? The best Le Mans ever? Something like that. So many lead changes in the Hypercar class (and so also the overall classement), cars from Toyota, Ferrari, Porsche, Jota Porsche, Cadillac, Peugeot, all of them were already leading the race for a longer time and it is so close that it is unpredictable who will win. Unfortunately, a few minutes ago the leading JOTA Porsche crashed into the wall in the Porsche corners and is now getting repaired at the pits, so Ferrari is in front now. The weather also was very... let's say interesting. With heavy rain around 18:45 local time. Unfortunately it led to a safety car priod that lasts almost one and a half hour and was way too conservative, because the slicks were already the best tires again as the Safety Car ended.

Carroll Shelby was born #OnThisDay in 1923 in Leesburg, Texas. As a driver, Shelby won the 1959 24 Hours of Le Mans (with Roy Salvadori). As a constructor, he returned to the Circuit de la Sarthe to shepherd the Ford GT40 victory in 1966 and 1967. With his big grin and black cowboy hat, Shelby brought a touch of Texan good ol' boy to every deal he made... and he made quite a few deals. According to his autobiography, "[W]inning the Twenty-four Hours was probably the greatest thrill I ever got out of racing. I can think of plenty of other races that carry their quota of thrills for the winner, but when you win this one it kind of gives you license to go out and tell people you're good, and that often helps get some other deals together." Some of those deals gave the world the Shelby Mustang and the Cobra. In 1965, the Shelby American Cobra won the International Championship for GT Manufacturers. Mick Schumacher races for Alpine!

Alpine announced on wednesday that Mick Schumacher will get one of the seats in their Hypercar in the WEC season 2024! That means, he will also start at the famous 24 Hours Of Le Mans.
