Alright RAM and headset have been ordered. They won't get here in time for this weekend's game of Enshrouded but next weekend should be good.

I don't know a whole lot about RAM. I ended up getting the Corsair 64gb modules. It has 3600mhz. I'm not sure how great that is for DDR4 but it's faster than the cheaper memory sticks that were 3200. I see DDR5 is up to 6000mhz but that requires a new motherboard.

As for the headset it has 3 input modes. There's a bluetooth option which I'm going to avoid since I'm sure that's what's causing my current audio problems. There's a 2.4ghz USB dongle for non-bluetooth wireless. Finally if all else fails there's an option to use an AUX cable.

My next weak point in the system is my video card. I have a GTX 1660TI with 6gb of V-RAM. Since I don't care about ray-tracing and I hardly ever play any new games it shouldn't need to be replaced anytime soon.

Sure, here's the parts list I used for my current PC, which I've been using for about a year now.

Note that I was not a computer engineer at the time, I just built my PC by doing some online research and making some educated guesses based on what I knew at the time. It was all a bit approximate, so keep that in mind. I was also really bad at some things, like assembling my PC, installing Windows, etc.

This is the last build I did, but I didn't really mess around with that one, and I'm not going to be changing it now either. It was basically the same as my other PC, with some changes to the processor and graphics card to accommodate the new motherboard design. This motherboard doesn't have the same kind of dedicated cooling setup the others do, but I didn't really like having it open, so I think this is how I want to continue with these systems.

I'm not exactly sure how many of these were actually "used" – like I said, I wasn't really using my old PC for anything, so it was kind of like "ok I guess that'll be the new PC" – but I think these are all the actual parts?

Also if I had known how much space I'd need for the new PC sooner, I would have ordered the SSD's and HDDs in larger sizes. I had planned to get a 1TB SSD for the OS and OS updates + large files (music, etc.), and I went with a 1TB SSD for everything else (including games), since I was worried I might not be able to fit everything on my current drive. I'm not sure if there are performance differences between 1TB vs 2TB drives, and I'm not sure if that will really be an issue for me for now given the relatively small size of my OS and data files.

I'm also supposed to play Armored Core but my PC, as you all know, is Windows 10 machine with 32 gb of ram, an i7-6700 4-core CPU, with a 1660Ti rammed into it's poor screaming H170Pro Asus MB so ... unless I play potato-mode ... that's one I'll have to watch online.

So ... looks like I'm downloading Fallout New Vegas before I edit the VOD from last week. This means exporting will once again force me to touch grass for 2-3 hours as my PC becomes unusuable.

I haven't heard much about this company, I wouldn't be worried about it being a scam they have enough recommendations they are legit. My only worry would be if you had a problem with a pc being damaged through shipping, I don't know how they would handle that situation. (just a warning, they could have great customer service and this is a non issue)

For about $1100 this is by far the best pc I found with a ryzen 5 5600x cpu, nvidia rtx 3060ti gpu, 16 gigs of ram at 3200MHz and terabyte of storage. It also has a full mesh front panel so I wouldn't be worried about cooling. I'd also like to note it doesn't mention any bluetooth or wifi support just warning you. I'd expect around 130 fps in cod warzone no problem maybe even more if you lowered your settings.

This pc is the most budget friendly at only about $800. It has a 10th gen i5 processor which isn't bad but older than the ryzen 5 in the nebula, also has a 1660ti which is much older than the 3060ti but still a great card, it has a terabyte of storage and 16 gigs of ram. Honestly I'd expect around 80-90 fps on average in cod warzone depending on the settings.

Now here's an Nzxt build for about $1050. Nzxt is a huge prebuild gaming pc company. I would not be worried about quality control or even if there was an issue I have no doubt they would take care of the issue no problem.

This build while being almost as much as the nebula doesn't quite have the same bang for the buck. It says It can get 75 fps in cod warzone, I wouldnt be surprised if you could get more messing with the settings a bit though. It has a 12th gen i5 so newer and definitely a great cpu with a nvidia rtx 3050. Not as good as the 3060ti in the nebula. Also 16 gigs of ram at 3200Mhz. The biggest issue I see though is it only has 500 gigs of storage, enough to play cod warzone but not much else after that. If you play more games you'll be downloading and deleting a lot. It's of course possible to buy more storage and install it yourself (It's not very hard but a little complicated. I know of a good youtube tutorial that can help you). This pc case is also completely mesh front so I don't see an issue with cooling and It does mention wifi support if that's important to you. Although I'd suggest using an ethernet cable.

These are brand new prebuilds that should work out of the box. This is with about 2 hours of looking I think it's important to note that if you were willing to buy used I'm sure you could find a pc with better specs, of course that comes with it's own issues that buying anything used always has. Let me know if you want me to keep looking (although I really don't think I'll find anything better than the nebula that thing is a great deal)

I've been getting interested in Metro again so I decided to give Exodus another run. I have it on Epic because it got taken off the Steam store to become an Epic exclusive for about a year and I didn't realize it was coming back. I don't use Epic for anything else and one of these days I want to get it on Steam for cheap.

Anyway on Epic I saw that a PC Enhanced edition had been credited to my account for free. After waiting for over an hour for it to install it wouldn't work. Just kept crashing and not a crash to desktop either. Trying to Alt+Tab my way out was a massive pain in the ass each time. After the second crash I actually paid attention to the error message it was giving me and it said my GPU didn't have some kind of compatibility. I suspected it meant ray tracing support so I looked into the PC enhanced edition and I was right. Ray tracing is mandatory which seems dumb if you want to market your game to a wide audience.

When I built this PC I settled on a GTX 1660TI card. The guy at Frys told me it was pretty close to a 2060 except it didn't support ray tracing. At the time there were only like 3 games that supported ray tracing and the original Exodus was one of them. I figured as long as it was optional it was worth skipping to save like $100 or whatever I was saving.

So the bad news is I can't play the enhanced edition. Fortunately it's still optional on the original which is still available. I just need to wait another hour for it to install.
