like clara has to grow to accept that the doctor isn't young anymore and it takes her a while but she loves him anyway

Anywaysss, so does the Master regenerate based on what the Doctor's current love interest looks like? Or does the Doctor subconsciously fall in love with someone who vaguely resembles the Master in that current part of their intersecting timelines?

And is it because of their inactive/ dormant? telepathic connection? Or is it bc of the knowledge revealed during the events in the Timeless Children or is it both ?

It really annoys me when ppl treat Clara's death in the trapstreet as some kind of "punishment" that they chalk up to resulting from some kind of corruption or someone else's bad influence on her.

Even though they basically have Ashildr spell out that it was supposed to be like a beautiful tragedy, not an error to be fixed. She wasn't punished for anything, it's just that eventually, everything ends.

In one interview Capaldi describes it as the Doctor being protective of her because he feels indebted for everything she did for him, but Clara is too independent & take-charge to be protected. She doesn't ask for that & is choosing a dangerous life of her own free will, much like he is, & perfectly ready to accept the consequences.

(Which has more or less been the core of their dynamic since "Bells of Saint John" - he's grateful & feels indebted)

He could only sort of move on & be released from his exaggerated sense of responsibility after he finally felt he had repaid the debt.

She pulled a bajillion self-sacrifices for him, stuck with him on his darkest day, and secured him some extra time to go gavillating 'round the universe (perhaps he still eventually ends up buried on Trenzalore, but not yet, not without taking the long way), and in the end, he does exactly the same for her.

Not enough ppl catch the parallel between Ashildr's line about how she "fell where she stood, for who she was" & the Twelfth Doctor's final speech - I like to think some part of him wanted to make her proud, even though he didn't remember her at the time. Or it's just another proof of how similar they are.
