Just the fact that I know too much about specific parts of the Titanic but not any of the important stuff. Like I can tell you all the languages Michel Navratil spoke or exactly what happened to Karl Thorsten Skoog in one day in 1908 or why Harold Bride messed up the whole story of how the orchestra played 'Nearer My God to Thee' going down or Alfred Rush's birthday but half the time I can't remember the year the ship sank

by any chance, would you be able to link me the different versions of tell your tale that got their voice actors replaced/are suspected could be using AI? i tried searching myself but for some reason wasnt very successful. it feels very likely to me that it could be AI considering how often hasbro/wotc has been in the news for such a thing lately.. thank you!!
At time of writing, "Icy Prints" has only been released in English, Arabic, French, German, Greek, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Malay, Mandarin, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish (Latin America), Swedish, Thai and Turkish, and today's episode "Heavy is the Mane that Wears the Fruit Crown" has only been released in English.
For the record, I'm not aware of any actual attempts to prove that the new voices are AI, and some dubs such as Thai already have some actual people confirmed to be working on them due to the staff members' social media posts, so I think it's more likely that all of the voice actors are still real people.
Also, here are the links to all of the official My Little Pony YouTube channels I'm aware of.
My Little Pony Official: English, Arabic, Cantonese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Lithuanian, Latvian, Malay, Mandarin (Taiwan), Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Spanish (Latin America), Swedish, Thai, Turkish, Vietnamese
Tell Your Tale: English, French, German, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish (Latin America), Spanish (Spain)
Friendship Is Magic: English, French, German, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Spanish (Latin America)
Equestria Girls: English, German, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish (Latin America)
Suspected to be run by Hasbro (English only): Flutter525, Izzy Moonbow🌙🦄, Letupita
Other (English only): Official Music Channel
Notes
Tell Your Tale episodes have never been released in Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian or Russian. The Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian channels have only uploaded short clips related to My Little Pony: A New Generation. The channels in Russian have been inactive since April 2022.
My Little Pony: Tell Your Tale Season 1 episodes 1–40 in Mandarin (China) and Portuguese (Portugal) are on Netflix only.
Some episodes of My Little Pony: Tell Your Tale Season 1 still haven't been released in some languages. In particular, several of them don't have episodes 57–70.
The Mandarin (Taiwan) channel uploaded "Icy Prints" with Simplified Chinese hardcoded subtitles, so the Mandarin dub of Season 2 was probably produced for a generic Chinese-speaking audience and not Taiwan specifically.

AO3Language Vitality Index in Europe by me
Tumblr media
Ladies and Gentelmen, I am honored to present "AO3 Language Vitality Index" by me. The Index shows the amout of works in a certain language, available on AO3, per 1 million people of certain national population that speaks this language. Research on European languages only.
Equation: Number of works in language A / divided by number of population in a country A * 1 00 000 = Index
Data comes from AO3 and Wikipedia -populations (access Feb 27 2023)
Here comes lenghty explanation how AO3 activity might be used as a tool to measure vitality of a language.
HERE COMES THE RESULTS
COUNTRY - INDEX RESULTS
French - 738,22
Italian - 542,41
Polish -  455,17
Czech - 436,64
Finnish - 375,34
German - 217,36
Hungarian - 213,71
Ukrainian - 198,99
Norwegian - 90,54
Swedish - 90,54
Latvian - 62,05
Estonian - 48,95
Belarusian - 40,16
Slovenian - 36,54
Slovak - 34,13
Dutch - 23,50
Danish - 25,76
Greek - 21,28
Icelandic - 18,99
Bulgarian - 18,13
Croatian - 14,46
Romanian - 11,21
Lithuanian - 9,64
Bosnian - 7,41
Serbian - 1,58
Here comes even more lenghty explanation of the research drawbacks. Drawbacks:
i simplify the data and assume that national polulation is the equivalent of the language users. While a lot of european countires are more of a uninational countires, results for the multiethnic countries / with big minority gropus might not be accurate.
some language are of a more international usage, inclusive, some languages are restricted only to the natives. This issue led to elimination of English, Spanish, and Portuguese from the reseach, yet French, Italian, German still benefit from their "international" role
data quality on population: source - Wikipedia, data come from different years.
possible different reasons why certain nations use AO3 more often
AO3 users as a specific group of people that don't reflect the general population
Here comes suggestion for the further study.
Here comes you expressing your awe.

I can put in any phrase in the app, and get the written AND spoken translation from English to more languages than I knew existed. Language Difficulty Ranking
Languages… there are many. There are TONS of languages in the world.
Natural languages alone add up to thousands (around 6 thousand). Conlangs (constructed languages) are everywhere too. Any alphabet, sign system and secret language, they are out there being used by people that might want you to learn them or not. We will focus on natural languages and see what makes them easier or harder to learn as a second language.
The Foreign Service Institute —the U.S. government’s main provider of foreign affairs training —, made a chart with five categories to determine how fast one could become fluent in said language.
Category I: 23-24 weeks (575-600 hours). Languages closely related to EnglishAfrikaans, Danish, Dutch, French, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Romanian, Spanish, Swedish
Category II: 30 weeks (750 hours) Languages similar to English German
Category III: 36 weeks (900 hours) Languages with linguistic and/or cultural differences from English Indonesian, Malaysian, Swahili
Category IV: 44 weeks (1100 hours) Languages with significant linguistic and/or cultural differences from English Albanian, Amharic, Armenian, Azerbaijani, Bengali, Bosnian, Bulgarian, Burmese, Croatian, Czech, Estonian, Finnish, Georgian, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Icelandic, Khmer, Lao, Latvian, Lithuanian, Macedonian, Monglian, Nepali, Pashto, Persian (Dari, Farsi, Tajik), Polish, Russian, Serbian, Sinhala, Slovak, Slovenian, Tagalog, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Urdu, Uzbek, Vietnamese, Xhosa, Zulu
Category V: 88 weeks (2200 hours) Languages which are exceptionally difficult for native English speakers Arabic, Cantonese (Chinese), Mandarin (Chinese), Japanese, Korean
What are the takeaways?
First and foremost, languages take time and dedication to learn. A diplomat stationed in a foreign country will have many resources planned just for them to learn the language, including personalized classes, exclusive time, money, cultural immersion…  A regular person might find it is taking them longer than the time listed here to learn a language and that’s because the circumstances are different.
Second, culture is a very important part when learning a language, and it is often dismissed in favor of more technical aspects such as correct grammar and spelling. But proficiency means one can use the language just like a native would, and that includes knowing if offering something comes off as rude or too forward.
Third, languages have families, meaning they share some aspects, like similar phonetics, grammar, and words that are very similar if not the same. Knowing this, one can decide to learn a language that’s similar to our first language, or one we already have some experience with.
Fourth, some languages will be easier or harder to learn depending on other factors like how easy it is to access it. This list only compiles 62 languages from the thousands we mentioned previously. Languages that are specific to a small place or with fewer speakers will be more difficult to learn because they are not as available as any of the ones in this list, but that doesn’t mean those languages are impossible to learn.
Of course, this is just an estimation. A category 4 language might come off easier to you specifically, or a category 1 language might take you far more time than expected. And of course, this is based, again, for a person who speaks English, so if your native language is Korean it might seem weird to see it as harder than others.
Is this list accurate to your own experience?
 Your bilin-gal Regina.

So, I was wondering, since “Jaskier” got translated in many languages, but I know from the English translation that it isn’t necessarily the same flower, I decided to look into that and compare flowers! (Please note that I am neither especially good with plants, nor do I speak all these languages. I’m just making a compilation of the google searches I have done in the last hour.)
First of all, Jaskier, according to my very elaborate *cough* research on google is this little flower:
Tumblr media
What we need to know about it for this post is:
1. It’s yellow
2. It’s little
3. And it’s part of the buttercup- or crowfoot-family, also called Ranunculaceae
Let’s start simple:
1. Languages without translation
• French
• Portuguese
• Spanish
• Romanian
“Jaskier” it is for them!
2. Family name
• Dutch (“Ranonkel”)
• Italian (“Ranunculo”)
Apart from the fact that they sound a bit like dragon species in the How to train your Dragon universe, they don’t vary from the yellow flower up there much. They just use the plant family, but since these small yellow ones are usually the prime example for that family, this might be what they are getting at.
3. Mean the same flower
• Russian (“лютик”) - I like that it sounds like “lute”. A+
• Bulgarian (“Лютиче”) - theoretically a more distinct version of buttercup but it’s practically the same thing
• Lithuanian (“Vėdrynas”)
4. Lookalikes and passables
• Czech (“Marigold” - Yes that is going to get confusing with Triss) - whatever, it’s the same family, looks nearly identical, passes
Tumblr media
• Slovak (“Blyskáč”) - it’s yellow, it’s tiny, same family, passes
Tumblr media
• Serbian (“Neven”) - that one is actually mostly orange, but there are also yellow ones. It’s also not that tiny and it doesn’t belong in the same family, but I’m still going to let it slide.
Tumblr media
5. Dandelions
• English (obviously)
• Turkish
• Japanese (“ダンデリオン” which should mean dandelion)
It’s yellow, it’s mostly not tiny and a different family, which makes it more related to the Serbian version but it still got its own category. But even with that it still works, I think. I like “Dandelion”.
6. What
• Let’s start this category with the reason I even started researching all this: the German translation!
“Rittersporn” - I actually really like this name. I think it sounds great. It translates into “Knights spur” or “Knights thorn” and even though I knew “Jaskier” first, I still love this version.
Still, the flowers, which bear this name look next to nothing like that buttercup up there.
Tumblr media
Is it yellow? No it is not. Is it tiny? It probably reaches higher than I am tall. What it is, though, is being from the same family, but that’s not going to help it to look like a tiny yellow flower.
Putting that aside, I’m glad they didn’t translate buttercup directly, because in Germany these are called “Rooster feet”, which would not be flamboyant or flattering at all! They also could have just followed the English translation and used Dandelion, hence “Löwenzahn” in German (meaning lions tooth), but that flower is not really... that much of a burner in here? I can’t really describe it, but it would not fit that well.
• the Swedish version (“Riddarsporre”) is basically the same. I think even the translation might mean the same.
• Hungarian (“Kökörcsin”) - is it yellow? No. But is it tiny and belongs to the same family? Yes. Nevertheless, this does not look like a buttercup! Also, the German translation for this plant is “Kuhschelle”, which means “cows bell”, which is not surprising, considering the form or the petals.
Tumblr media
• Ukrainian (“Любисток”) - it’s not yellow, it doesn’t even really have flowers, it’s also fairly big and it also does not belong in the buttercup-family. From what I gathered, this plant, in German is called “Liebstöckel” or “Luststock” which is.... interesting since that translates into “Love stake” or “Lust stick/stake”. Maybe they just went searching for a plant that respresented Jaskiers bedroom adventures. In which case the choice would be fair, but judging from the plant alone, this one doesn’t get a pass!
Tumblr media
In conclusion, some translators look for fitting names within yellow tiny flowers, some just make shit up. But they are all interesting and very pretty flowers nonetheless! I think I like all of these. This has actually been really enjoyable. Even though I stayed up until 3am because of this.
Petition to give Jaskier a bouquet with one of every single one of those flowers in it. All his flowers in one place.

You wrote chapters too fast but I'm working on the comments right now! I'll just start with this, which I think it should be separately. Vera is unfortunately, and italian name, but I checked on wiki's page. The english one is wrong. I'm sorry to inform you the name is not original russian as they stated (-_-) but it's italian, from latin. It had two branch: Vera, which comes from 'verus', 'truth', or Vera based on the russian 'Bepa' (faith), prounced 'vera'. So your choose could still be right
I’m gonna put this under a cut because of length. :)
But it differs in pronounce/writing. Also I don't know if 'Bepa' pronunce 'Vera' is the russian one or an italian one.
I'll start from the last because I reread them backwards xD I'm still getting a bit confused about the children, but I starting to focus some of them at least. I loved a lot Kotori's child moment! But Vera is my best I think, and I like Isla too but I'm not getting over she's Hanayo daughter. Not because Raven, but because how Hanayo is doing right now. That phrase was really uncalled for "This isn't my fault!". If this matter involved Eli I'm sure she'd already punched her. (1)
I like how much Vera resemble both Eli and Honoka in character too. And Kikyo! She inherited so much from Umi t_t She's such a good kid! I'm really sad how they were separated. Hope they still can work together and consider themselves as sister..! And also I think all this Rin-future plot is bullshit. It's true she saw many timelines, but I think she still believe her timeline is the one Right. She's trying to edit timelines but on hers judjment. (2) (don't kill me I made too much ask)
Also this protect Vera a-la Elsa it's dumb (and it's Eli's will -_-!!!). But Rin should really take it down a notch in general. And I really hate how F2Rin talk and refers to Eli (before the meeting). Other thing. FHonoka. While she likes Umi and all, and sure it's nice to have all of them alive, I think it should be time to remember they're all dead in her TL, apart from Nico and Yukihko. While she say they are hers F ones, because it could be, things are different and she has only Nozo. (3)
Last one half I swear. I loved how the focus is returned on Eli and on consequences on Honoka and Umi too. We need to know exactly why Honoka died. It was something genetical? Power's related? Medical related like a illness? So they could choose what to do or not. But in general I think this Honoumieli is stronger than their Fvers. They were together from longer, they accepted themselves, Umi is very protective on Eli and need her too. (4)
They passed throught Yukikho (which the others didn't), Eli sacrifice for Umi. If they can work this Yuki's matter they are well. And even with Hono dead, I think thing would go differently. Honoka's dead would united more Eli and Umi..! They both said it before, and you show how much Umi cared deeply for Eli. Eli still didn't show a lot but I think it's there. It's not only Honoka that matter to her, even if she always there doubting Honoka's love for her.///In terms of the name Vera, the information I get is from a few websites which say that Vera is Russian, meaning faith. Like this:Both the origin and meaning of Vera is inherited by all variant forms.2: Vera's origin is Russian. It is from the word viera meaning 'faith'. The name can also be derived from the Russian 'viera'.3: Vera is mainly used in the Ukrainian language and it is also of Ukrainian origin. Meaning: faith.4: Vera's origin, as well as its use, is in the Albanian language. It is derived from the word 'verë' which means summer. (https://www.babynamespedia.com/meaning/Vera)And this:VeraPronunciation/ˈvɪərə, ˈvɛrə/GenderFemaleOriginWord/nameRussianMeaning"Truth" or "Faith"Region of originEuropeOther namesRelated namesVeronica, Verena, Olivera, SeveraPopularitysee popular namesVera is a female first name of Russian origin, from verus meaning verity and coincides with the Russian meaning of faith. [1]Gender: Feminine[2]Usage: English, German, Scandinavian, Slovak, Czech, Italian, Greek, Dutch, Slovene, Bulgarian, Serbian, Croatian, Macedonian, Portuguese, Spanish, Russian[2], Albanian, French, Polish, Armenenian, Hungarian, Romanian. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vera_(given_name))And this: Means "faith" in Russian, though it is sometimes associated with the Latin word verus "true". It has been in general use in the English-speaking world since the late 19th century. (https://www.behindthename.com/name/vera-1)And this:Etymology : Means "faith" in Russian, though it is sometimes associated with the Latin word verus "true"Saint :Origin : Russian (http://www.first-names-meanings.com/names/name-VERA.html)I’m really glad you like the kids! Kikyo is super sweet to be honest. In terms of Rin she’s trying to keep the timeline from changing which I guess, in a sense, is putting the control of the timelines in her own hands like you said. She does have a lot of knowledge about it though and does see herself as it’s protector. Could seem to be a bit like she has a god complex or something though maybe. Future Rin is definitely not as personable as younger Rin. She has a mission and that’s basically the only thing she’s focused on. Her mission comes before pretty much everything. I’m not sure if Honoka died that Eli and Umi would stay together exactly but they would still be really close. In the timeline now where they’ve been through all of the stuff you mentioned, it’s not entirely impossible that they would stay together if Honoka died though. Actually yeah, I could probably see them staying together now that I think about it a bit more. I agree, HonoEliUmi are stronger in this timeline because they’ve been through so much together. Definitely. Thanks for the comment! :D
