Credit where credit is due to James Cameron, at least he went down to the Titanic wreck in an ACTUAL submarine with an actual trained crew who spend their whole lives doing deep sea dives, the man did his research and wasn’t just throwing away $250,000 to look at a shipwreck

History fans be like: "Yeah that's my scrimblo babygirl blorbo"
And the "babygirl" in question is a decaying, sad, middle aged man who's lived through the horrors of the world.

Before the wreck of the Titanic was found on September 1, 1985, it was widely accepted the ship sank in one piece. When Robert Ballard started his search for the wreck in 1985, artist Ken Marschall painted this painting to submit to the National Geographic.
"Proposal painting of a sunken Titanic submitted to National Geographic in May 1985 in hopes that if the wreck were found that summer they might hire me to illustrate for the magazine. I was not."

Later, Ken drew several pieces of artwork of liner that was used in several publications.

Sorry but if I was paying $250k, I’d want the full Titanic experience, including being railed in the back of a 1912 Renault Type CB Town car by a young 90s era Leonardo DiCaprio until my hand leaves a print on the window

112 Years Ago: Titanic was dressed in her signal flags to greet the people of Southampton on her first day in port. This occasion is often assumed to be a celebration of Good Friday but has since been confirmed as taking place on Thursday, April the 4th.

𝑻𝑰𝑻𝑨𝑵𝑰𝑪 (𝟏𝟗𝟗𝟕)
1500 people went into the sea when Titanic sank from under us. There were 20 boats floating nearby and only one came back. One. Six were saved from the water, myself included. Six out of 1500. Afterward, the 700 people in the boats had nothing to, but wait, wait to die, wait to live, wait for an absolution that would never come.
