Where did you go to see the eclipse?? Was it far? Sand dunes?

I went to Canada, on the north shore of Lake Erie - it was about a three-hour drive (with surprisingly little traffic). Technically speaking, I think it would just be one sand dune, or maybe one small complex of sand dunes - I didn't even know such a place existed along Lake Erie.

It was work. 😅

#I had seen the 2017 eclipse #in the middle of a farm field in Illinois #it was a very last-minute notion #I didn't even have the glasses #so I couldn't look until totality #I knew the 2024 one was going to cross over Lake Erie and Lake Ontario #and I had the notion of seeing one of the most incredible things you can experience #(which an eclipse *is*)#in one of the most beautiful places I know #(which the Great Lakes are)#I had visited Long Point in 2018 or 2019 #and was planning to go there #but they sold out of passes (which I didn't know were preorderable 😅) the day before #so I was making contingency plans #this place was Plan B #and honestly even more incredible a spot to see it than Long Point #(which is saying something because Long Point is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve)#thank you for the questions!#asks
