I'm new to hunting and your post about suppressors made me curious, if you don't mind divulging: what sort of cartridges do you guys use for all the stuff y'all hunt up there? Particularly moose? I'm definitely only hunting whitetail for a long time yet because I'm quite inexperienced and cartridges are so confusing.
Alright so I have good news and bad news.
Good news: Cartridges are not nearly as complicated as they seem.
Bad news: The organization of rifle and handgun cartridges is a fucking nightmare because they use Metric, Imperial, and i/another/i measuring system. All at the same time. On the same damn box. And that's why the whole thing seems complicated.
So let's start with a simple bit first, and we can work our way up to the complex nonsense.
So, your cartridge, also called a round, has four parts.
The bullet itself
The shell, also called a casing, also referred to as brass
The gunpowder
The primer
We're going to pretend that's a bulleted list and the rest is going under a readmore
General mechanics: trigger pull makes the firing pin hit the primer, which works more or less like one of those stomp rocks fireworks. The primer ignites the gunpowder which explodes and sends the bullet down the barrel of the gun. There are different ways to clear the action and reload, I'm going to assume you have a bolt action rifle, and that you know how that works.
So the shell is what defines the caliber of the cartridge and what gun it can go into. Some are measured in millimeters and some are measured in thousandths of an inch. Why? Because fuck you that's why. It is not even as simple as American companies sticking to Imperial and everyone else using metric because specific sizes have been standardized over the years and now everyone produces everything. Some shells are just old designs that have been modified, I think it's the 6.5 which is just a .308 cartridge that's been cut down.
(Remember that hyperfixation by association i mentioned earlier? Sunshineman took over the living room and is resizing .223 shells into 300 blackout. By hand.)
But the shell is just the bucket that holds everything together and fits in the chamber of the gun. The thing that controls the energy output of the gun is the amount of gunpowder and the amount of bullet you are using. If you have a tiny bullet and a lot of gunpowder that bullet will go very fast. But it doesn't have enough mass to really transfer that energy into whatever it hits.
Both the bullet and the gunpowder are measured in grains. It is a measurement of weight, and I don't know what it converts to, but I don't actually need to because gunpowder and bullets are only ever measured in grains. If you are buying bullets, like a normal human being, the grain listed on the box will be the weight of the bullet. The box will also have a muzzle velocity listed, the speed at which the bullet comes out of the gun. This is more useful information than just telling you how much gunpowder is in the round, because different casing shapes and bullet compositions will make that powder react differently.
I am going to talk about wound channels and bullet expansion now, so if you are squeamish this is the place to tap out.
So, a bullet hitting a living body does more than just poke a hole. The energy transferred to the tissue by the bullet creates a hydrostatic shock, basically a ripple through the water inside the cells. As you might imagine this is bad for the cells and turns them into goo. The goo is referred to as the bloodshot meat, and depending on your processing standards of the meat, it is generally discarded as inedible.
However, if the bullet remains perfectly intact and transfers no energy and only pokes a hole, unless you had a perfect shot on a vital organ, the animal will usually just walk away. This is why bullets are made out of lead and copper, anything harder would simply go through. The lead squishes or "mushrooms" and the copper which is just slightly harder, controls where the expansion of the bullet goes.
OK, so now that I've rambled on about cartridge mechanics for several paragraphs, I'm actually gonna answer your question. The cartridges I used to hunt vary wildly based on what I am hunting. General wisdom is You need a gun and a cartridge big enough for the biggest animal you would need to shoot. For me that is a grizzly bear which is not unlike shooting a bus if a bus had claws and teeth and a million years of predatory instinct and the ability to just sit on you and squish you to death if they got annoyed.
But I am usually not hunting bear. So usually what I do is I have a Glock 29, which is a sub compact 10 mil, in a chest holster and a rifle more suited to whatever I'm hunting. The glock honestly sucks to shoot and it is a break glass in case of emergency situation, because it is literally the least amount of gun for the maximum possible bullet.
I also have a 6.5 Creedmoor which is too small for bear or moose, but it is the only other gun that is actually mine and not borrowed from various family members. It works for caribou if I use a solid copper 140 grain bullet and it's great for varmint. My original idea for the gun was goat hunts but I can't convince anyone to go with me and I'm not dumb enough to try a solo hunt.
The 6.5 Creedmoor also has the virtue of being a very well marketed gun. The 6.5 swede has been around for 120 years and is not markedly different than the 6.5 Creedmoor, but a handful of years ago somebody got the right idea to market this thing as a target round for a high precision gun with a mild recoil. So now every bro who thinks he's Chris Kyle has one, which is annoying, but you can always find ammo for this thing because its so popular. It is a small and relatively underpowered gun, but I am a small person and as long as I am hunting small things I feel no need to drag a cannon with me over hill and dale.
As far as hunting for bear and moose go, the rounds used are .308 and .223. I'm sure other people use other things but that's what I'm used to. I would have to check on grain size, but I'm inclined to guess it's up around 200. Those are almost never solo hunts, simply because there's so much work associated with butchering and processing the animal, but also because you really want backup if things go sideways.
Oh, and I use a .22 for birds. And biathlon. That round is so tiny that the entire cartridge is the size of my pinky fingernail and the primer is built directly into the shell rather than being its own thing.

@freedom-aviators asked: "So, I don't know if you know this hoe but Skyrim yandere Elenwen with a High Elf vampire Darling? It could be a concept or darling somehow snuck into one of her parties and the two had a deep conversation that lasts the whole party before they disappear."
A/N: I am still very new to Skyrim so I researched what I could on this character! I apologize if anything is wrong :( I sort of combined the two of them for plot. This is short as I'm still a bit new.
Yandere! Elenwen with Altmer Vampire! Darling
Pairing: Romantic/Platonic
Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Obsession, Implied stalking, Drinking, Implications of coercion with alcohol, Slight prejudice against vampires, Dubious feelings.
Tumblr media
Sneaking into one of Elenwen's parties is actually not as hard as you'd think while a vampire.
Vampires in Skyrim have access to the spell Invisibility.
You'd just need party clothes and would have to sneak in through the shadows.
So meeting Elenwen isn't too hard.
Vampires vary in appearance, but you'd be more pale with piercing red eyes.
It's difficult to hide this from others so many if they look too close can see your condition.
It's either you sneak in with invisibility or you follow a similar situation to the Diplomatic quest where you head to the Embassy.
The whole invitation thing to gain information or not.
Either way, this concept primarily focuses on your encounter with Elenwen at her party.
As I am still new to Skyrim, I am guessing Elenwen's personality through dialogue.
Elenwen is confident and authoritative.
She seems cold at times and naturally distrusting towards others, especially if you're a vampire.
When she meets you at the party she keeps an eye on you for suspicious activity.
However, you only appear interested in the alcohol and conversations.
Guests appear a bit uneasy at your appearance but it's not like you have tried anything yet.
A conversation between you two most likely starts just to see if she can trust you.
Elenwen starts friendly, telling you she hopes the party provides for you well and that she wishes you'll enjoy the hospitality.
Although Elenwen will have a threatening tone when speaking with you, maybe even outright asking if you plan to drink the blood of her guests.
Elenwen is quite perceptive, as shown in dialogue between her and the Dragonborn where she says she recognized them sneaking in.
She knows you're a vampire and is a bit distrustful of that.
Despite this you try to reassure the other Altmer that you won't do such a thing.
Not unless you were given permission.
Elenwen would then continue the conversation out of interest.
Not only is she keeping you in check this way but she's also learning more about her "guest".
Elenwen may even offer to serve you a drink or two.
Elenwen probably takes interest in you as she hopes you also follow her beliefs, plus she wonders about your life as an Altmer vampire.
If you seem too uptight when it comes to your origins, she'll offer another drink.
Who are you to pass up another swig of fancy alcohol?
It's a luxury delight you just can't resist, even if blood would be much more to your tastes.
It's sinister of her, sure, but she tells herself it's just to make sure you won't cause any issue.
The last thing she needs is anyone getting bit.
Plus she's curious.
The more she listens to you talk the more she wants to learn more.
She wants to know your thoughts on the war, your thoughts on people, for some reason she just likes to hear about you.
In exchange she drops some information about her.
Your inebriated talks at the party certainly make you two bond in a way.
You and her have been alive for a long time, more than most, so she's happy to have someone she can relate to in a way.
As this wasn't specified, Elenwen could see you as a potential companion or a romantic interest.
The party would just be the start of it.
The moment the party dies down, you tell her goodbye.
Elenwen doesn't want this to be the end and asks for your name or even some sort of title.
You could give it to her, or you could not, Elenwen probably ends up losing you in the crowd.
Internally she curses the fact vampires have invisibility spells and her thoughts drift to you.
She wonders if she'll have a chance to see you again?
In fact... she hopes she will.
You are a face she can't forget and she wishes you stayed a little longer.
Regardless on if she has a name for you or not, the reality that you'll be hard to track sets in.
She tries to reassure herself she can find you again.
She's a powerful women, she could ask for help to find you for one reason or another.
Elenwen makes it a personal promise to find you again, even if it's just for another chat.
After your encounter at the party... Elenwen begins her goal.
She'll find you again...
One way or another. No matter what it takes.

Loving your au!
The thing you said about allowing yourself to stim resonated with me a lot. Like, I've been pretty loud and emotional as a kid, but was forced to bottle up my emotions. Which lead me to self-harm, yei! (btw, Im pretty sure I'm neurotypical, but moving my body in repetitive movion tends to calm my nerves. So I guess it counts as stimming? Unless there is another more appropriate term for it. It's a good thing I got out of rottmnt fandom, lol.)
So, I've wanted to ask about your Donnie's experience with autoaggression. You've mentioned that self-harm is one of his coping mechanisms. So I am curious. What triggers the action? It has to be an intense emotion, right? What does he tend to do? Is it like cutting, biting or burns? A mix of everything? If I'm not mistaken, he does tend to wear more clothes, possibly to cover the scars and such. Also, what would be family member's reaction to his self-harm scars? Would they lash out, ignore or try to lecture him? (The last thing happened to me and it was weird. Like, my mom brought my little brother to my room and told him to ask me to stop. I'm afraid I might have unintentiinally traumatized him there, whoops.)
Also, sorry for long rant, but I adore your Leo having gender issues. Like. I feel it. I tried to copy one of youtubers who sometimes used she/he pronounce and had fun with it until other people started questioning it so I stopped. But my fuckery with gender came to bite me in the ass afterwards. I've only recently realized I fall under demigirl term, so that was a relief. I wonder how Leo's gender adventure will play out. :)
Sorr for grammar mistakes, I'm not a native speaker :'D
your grammar's fine :)
aight so a lot to get into here. SO Donnie's experiences with self harm are heavily based on my own ones, which means overwhelming emotion. That can be either too much anxiety/stimulation, or feeling so empty and numb that you just need to DO SOMETHING that feels real.
you're spot on about his clothing hah, he covers more skin than the others cause he knows it'd make himself and everyone around him uncomfortable to see.
so the thing about his family's reactions is this: Leo is in denial about it, and Splinter doesn't even know. These are both because Donnie has a lot of naturally occurring scars from unsafe metal work. frankly its a miracle he didn't blow up one of his fingers when he was younger.
nowadays Mikey and Raph just try to support him so that he won't feel the need to self harm. I think Raph used to be really mad about it when they were WAYYY younger but. That doesn't really help the situation so he just, tries to help any way he can without directly talking about the issue.
anywho, congrats on the cool gender! Leo will realize his bigender ways eventually (but not soon enough hah)

I've looked and I haven't seen you talking about Helaena so I'm curious what's your thoughts on her?
gonna be real with you, I considered not answering this one at all 😭 But I felt bad, so here we go.
Short answer: mixed feelings
Longer answer: Originally I wasn't fond with how they made Helaena in the show. Especially the prophecies and her being alledgedy a "dreamer". How do you toss a female character like that is beyond me and the fandom is so so so dumb.
I've seen some ppl from team black arguing Rhaena should have been the dreamer for multiple reasons but babes, nobody should have been a freaking dreamer. there's a reason we didn't have another Daenys the dreamer in canon, there's a reason Daenery is the first character to come close to experiencing prophetic dreams in asoiaf.
So my stance on that discourse is that no character from the dance should ever have the skill of prophecy.
My biggest grudge with it is how there's no freaking way they'd just... ignore a person who is supposed to be a dreamer. Sure, the faith would demonize them in a heartbeat but why would the Targaryen family think one of their own as "mad" given how close they are to their family history?
The dance was what triggered the bigger downfall and oppression for targaryen women. If we had a targaryen princess who could predict the future in let's say Robert's rebellion timeline, then sure, she's a weirdo, she's mad, she's an outcast blah blah.
But the treatment show Helaena got was nothing more than another case of misogyny.
I know her canon self served no purpose other than being a a tragic figure, but the show had the opportunity to make us care more. (the fact that she and Rhaenyra had 0 scenes together is also a crime btw)
So yeah, as you can tell, I passionately hate the dreamer aspect they tried to give to her and Viserys.
and the reason I don't talk much about her is because her fans don't exactly give the warmest welcome. Book Helaena is my baby, I love her and I have so many headcanons about her, her relationship with Aegon, Rhaneyra etc but I don't pretend my ideas are canon.
Many of her fans on the other hand, seem to pretend the opposite. Because Helaena is an empty canvas as a character it gives the opportunity for fans to add their own ideas. That would be very much fun if people didn't delude themselves into thinking their fanfic and self insertion are canon.
Conclusion:
show Helaena? indifferent the writing is atrocious and I ignore it
book Helaena? potentially interesting tragic character you can toy with in fanon.
fans? avoid them like the plague unless I can come across some normal one

Grey, as someone in the medical field, I would really appreciate your opinion on this if you wouldn’t mind.
My family has a pretty rare genetic condition in which the care and diagnosis is not common knowledge, and even among specialists, unless they have specifically looked into it, they don’t always know.
I had an MRI the other day to help look for this condition and… straight up…. I’m pretty sure they did it wrong for what we’re looking for. But I was too scared to say anything.
Anyways, my question is: is there a polite way to go about telling people with specialized degrees (and sometimes have an ego to match) that they are doing it wrong and/or don’t know what they’re talking about without coming off as a “problem patient” or “nuts” ?
Hi, friend! I know you said you wanted advice from someone who's worked in the medical field, but I think I'll come at this instead from my experience as a patient with chronic illness because I think that will be far more helpful.
Honestly, it's hard. In my experience, the good doctors will be perceptive to conversation, to at least explaining to you why they do things the way they do. I had doctors explain every step of a process to me because I said it was new, or because I even looked nervous about it. I've also had doctors tell me I'm not qualified for a vaccine even after I mentioned that I'm immunization certified and know I'm listed on that table.
But honestly, just ask. You could even word it like "In past appointments, they've always done X thing like this, I'm curious why it's different now?" or like "Could you tell me more about what we're doing? I want to be able to understand the process."
If you're talking symptoms, I've found it helpful to ask very specific questions. For example, I had a provider tell me they were ruling out pancreatitis when it's well known I have a really shitty pancreas. So I just asked why they could rule it out, and then they told me and said they were documenting it in my chart, and that was that.
That's the key. If you're unsure about something, make sure it's getting documented somewhere. Another example, an old provider wouldn't do a procedure to diagnose a thing because I was overweight, so I asked them to document that they were doing so for that reason.
Also also!! I don't know about other countries, but if you're in the United States, if you're nervous or uncomfortable about ANYTHING, ask for a medical advocate. I've had them in provider rooms during uncomfortable/triggering procedures/tests, and also when a provider had a history of not listening to my concerns or talking down to me. Medical advocates are there to make sure your needs are being met, that's their whole thing!
I hope this helps, and you're always welcome to DM me anytime <3

Hi!
I just caught up with your recent Bonds chapter and am loving that’s it’s picking up so fast. Absolutely can’t wait to see how this goes!!
The very first chapter did make me slightly curious about something tho, and trigger warning just in case since this is a really sensitive topic: —if birdie had for whatever reason killed herself later after re-joining the marines, how do you think Kid or the marines would react? Not necessarily just because of the capture, but also just the general mess of not fitting in, losing Aokiji, then Kid, and all the trauma, etc.
I imagine Kid would be shocked, but do you think he’d blame himself/feel regret or get angry at the marines?
For marines, I think they’d all assume it was due to the captivity? Or do you think it’d be enough to recognize that their system/structure/methods need to change? Other than like Smoker and Coby, anyway. Because one thing I always found intriguing in your stories was that birdie was straight up abandoned by her comrades (when pirates were willing to jump in to save her during the fishmen attack after only knowing her for a couple weeks), and Coby was the only one who cared enough to try and save her. It makes the marines look really scummy, and there has to be many many others just like her that the marine structure has tossed aside like trash
Thank you so much! I'm happy you like the pacing. Killer was originally supposed to appear in the third chapter but I decided to include the scene in the second one, I know everyone is missing the Kid Pirates (including me ❤️).
Let's now get to your scenario, although a premise is in order: killing herself for these reasons would be OOC for birdie. She did show suicidal thoughts at the beginning of Captive, but that was on the perspective of being tortured and murdered with no way out, and even then she backed down. Call it strength or cowardice, but she wouldn't kill herself out of her losses.
Anyway, for speculation's sake, let's say she does, after re-joining the Marines. The bitter truth is that Kid would probably never know, unless he ran into a vengeful Koby or something. After all, it's not like the Marines would publish a notice or anything. Even if at some point Kid decided to look for her for any reason, it's difficult that he would actually find out the truth about what happened. In case he did, he'd be filled with murderous intent. First against the Marines, then himself. Especially after losing Victoria in the past, it'd be devastating for him to lose another love interest to the powers of the world. I see him becoming much wilder and merciless, especially against Marines and the WG, although it'd partly be to redirect the hatred he feels against himself.
As for the Marines, sadly I don't think birdie's suicide would shake anything. I would be surprised if she were the first, I don't think they care too much. Like you said, there must be many more the organisation tossed away. Some people would be traumatized and probably have a strong reaction, sure: Koby, Tashigi, Helmeppo... But what would they do? Overall, birdie's departure would be ruled out as a personal tragedy, a girl who had one too many traumas and wasn't able to cope with this strong world. You know who's the only one that may really do something? Aokiji. At some point, he may look for Sakazuki and present the bill. Although he knows he has a big share of fault by himself.

Shining Force (Sega Genesis)
Tumblr media
Back in the day, when I had a Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis was just a console I played at other kids' houses sometimes, I would often be curious about the RPGs that Genesis offered. SNES was going through a golden age of RPGs, thanks largely to third party developers like Squaresoft, Quintet, and even Capcom to a degree with the Breath of Fire series.
So I'd read about games like Shining Force, Beyond Oasis, or Phantasy Star on the Genesis, and always be curious if they measured up to the likes of Final Fantasy III (aka 6 - I'm just gonna call it "3" for the sake of this review), Chrono Trigger, or Secret of Mana.
Well, I can say when it comes to Shining Force, at least, it comes very close... but falls short a bit. In the game's defense, it was developed in 1992, which a couple years before Squaresoft would really raise the bar for RPGs with the release of Final Fantasy III. One might argue they had already raised the bar with previous entries into the FF franchise, but FF III is the most ambitious and cinematic in scope by far.
But this isn't a review of Final Fantasy III... but we'll get there eventually, oh yes.
So the Shining Force's failings are forgivable, and to be honest, I probably would have overlooked them even back in 92, because the gameplay is so darn fun... for the most part.
The game is a tactical turn-based RPG, a genre I have great affection for, where you move your party into position on a map, with the objective of defeating the enemy units. It's about as simple as that. For the most part, it's very entertaining, however...
Okay, so let's get to the problems: first and foremost, the story. It's your boiler plate, formulaic, boiler plate fantasy story about an unassuming hero who is called by destiny to stop a dark force from being unleashed, blah, blah, blah. Whatever. The story could have been easily enhanced by developing the characters a little more, because lord knows there's a bunch of them that join your "Shining Force" by the game's end, but usually when they join your team, that's it for them. They almost never utter a peep again, unless you talk to them at heardquarters, but even then, they just say the same dialogue over and over. There's never any contextual changes as the story progresses. It's minor, but it can make a big difference when it comes to making the game a little more engaging. It's a shame, too, because the character design is so good.
Another issue is the menu system is clunky as fuck. We're talking Earthbound levels of Mclunky. Dealing with inventory or equipping everyone with weapons is such a tedious process. When buying weapons, the game lets you know who can use what type, but good luck figuring that out if you find one and try to figure out who to give it too (sometimes it's obviously, but other times, such as when a werewolf joins your party, it's not).
Finally, the gameplay. It's fine, as tactical RPGs go, but the game is lousy with cheap bullshit such as how often your characters miss when attacking the enemy versus how often the enemy lands BRUTAL (often deadly) critical hits. The game will also often start battles with your party on the complete opposite side of the map from the enemy, on terrain that inhibits your mobility, making it taking FOREVER to close the gap. This is particularly punishing, because one of the worst aspects of tactical RPGs is how time consuming each battle can be, which can be annoying when you get close to finishing it, but lose because your character missed but the enemy wiped you out, and now you have to start ALL OVER. UGGGGH. And mark my words, unless you play this on the Switch's Sega Genesis Online, where you can use the save state or rewind feature, you're going to be dying and restarting battles a lot.
Honestly, even with the rewind feature, I almost quit my playthrough during the final boss, because he has three heads that are capable of devastating long range area attacks and minions that endlessly respawn. It's a nightmare, but pro-tip - if you stick a useless party member at the spot where the minions spawn, they can't respawn. This makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE.
Anyway, I complained a lot, but I mostly really enjoyed Shining Force, and I will give it this much - it was a unique direction to take an RPG in a time when turned-based JRPGs were flooding the market.

Thoughts and headcanons for the five dragons?
Hmm well let's go through the list-
Also btw dragons are bastards so trigger warning fatal vore mention
Lychee Dragon Cookie: They're very rude and cynical to their prey honestly. They find the fear not only amusing but delicious as well. What better way to drain life force than then to swallow their prey whole?
Their stomach is very dark unless you have a light then you can see the true colors around you. Honestly it's not a comfortable stay either, their stomach is rough and loud and most likely they would be a fatal pred.
Also they enjoy flying which means a weird weightlessness for the poor prey trapped inside.
Another thing- they can and will snap prey up from the ground.
Lotus Dragon Cookie: this pred is a little better, but still on the apathic side. The cookies around them are more like playthings than anything else.
Still enjoys fear because it's entertaining but also enjoys any other interesting reactions.
Loves floating in water with their prey, or dicing underwater which can be weird/uncomfortable for prey.
Sees prey more as silly little pets than anything else.
Stomach is a lot more slimy than anyone else's and smells like a lotus and spring water.
Will glow a light blue and prey and see magic darting around on the inside.
Longan Dragon Cookie: Yikes let me tell you this Cookie isn't exactly the safest to be with either
They are all knowing and can and will tell you all details of how they can defeat you.
Prey is often unknowingly taunted due to this fact.
Sense they have many eyes trying to sneak away is impossible and will only annoy them further
His stomach is the worse to be in because it is *blinding* and not comfortbale at all. He does enjoy squirming so there's not exactly a quick death in store for prey.
Very efficient and finds a long battle to be annoying. Totally enjoys riddles though.
But for augments sake for them to be soft-
They will tell their favorite prey fondly about a 'better time' and show them what things were like.
Will constantly make sure their prey is up to date on information.
Pitaya Dragon Cookie (yes I know I used pink again-)
Starting off strong their stomach is *hot* and very humid. For cookies this isn't exactly an issue just a fact I'm throwing out there.
They find cookies amusing but untimely if you're respectful/curious they will absolutely sit down and tell you about everything.
They will have a soft spot for crumblings because babies are meant to be helpless its not their fault.
Has a very hot temper however.
Prey has to be very level headed and cautious to survive.
Ananas Dragon Cookie: this is literally the only Cookie that wouldnt kill their prey I'm not going to lie.
Respect is needed obviously but other than that why spend energy on destroying something so helpless?
Enjoys fighters and will keep them safe just to see them fight again.
Absolutely will gorge themselves on crumblings, they love the feeling of feeling full and most of the time the little ones are delightful.
Enjoys fear and awe.
His stomach is a bit rough but very earthy, so think of dirty.

Hello! Can I call you JD? I dunno why I feel silly asking but something about it feels intimate. I had a few questions, just so I can make sure I’m treating you with respect bc I’d like to talk with you more. Also I sincerely apologize if this information is somewhere, I couldn’t find it on either of your blogs. Also if you don’t feel comfortable answering any of these questions feel free to ignore. First off, preferred pronouns? Any triggers that shouldn’t be mentioned? And I was also curious about what you do as a profession. I know that’s a little too personal but the reason I ask is more directly related to, do you get paid for writing in any sense? I really truly think you should, you’re honestly just amazing. Like I am literally in awe any time I read your work. You’re an inspiration. Would you be able to link your KoFi? The one in your profile takes me to “url not found”, and I’d really love to send you a little something or set up a monthly donation out of appreciation, unless there’s another method you’d prefer(PayPal, Tumblr tipping etc)? -🩻
hi there!! I actually just changed my bio on mobile so there's no more kofi (cause it was being annoying) and it has my pronouns there too: he she they! in no particular order. I'm agender/nonbinary so I just like don't really think of myself in terms of pronouns ig?
as for triggers, none big enough that I feel like people need to know them, I can handle ALMOST anything as long as there are warnings first so I know what I'm getting into and can choose to read/see it on my own time. discussions of eating disorders, restriction/binging, and body checks can be triggering for me so just like a heads up on those would help me a lot but honestly that stuff rarely comes up.
as for profession, I've had a lot of careers in a rather short life, but I'm not a professional writer! I would love to write for a living, and I've had jobs before where I did technical writing (aka grants, research papers, other nonfiction) which is part of where I developed my skill but sadly no, as of yet I've only made money through fiction writing from tips! which, by the way, the best way to do that if you're so compelled is with the tumblr tip button; I'm extremely honored when people want to give me money for my stuff so if you choose to do so, thank you so so much! please never feel obligated to of course.
I am working on several original projects and maybe I can publish a book or something! that would be so fun c: but you know me, it's hard to stay on one idea that long...

Introduction
Hi, hello! How are you doing at this fine time for you? <33
My pronouns change from day to day because I may or may not have a fluid gender, but if you ask what it is specifically, my answer will have to either be "yes" or "potato" and there is no in-between.
My preference of pronouns: They/Them or He/Him, just because I wear skirts, makeups and dresses sometimes it doesn't fucking mean I'm a girl, okay? :)
I am on the asexual and aromantic spectrums! But I have no gender preference, just, not really interested in humans romantically or sexually lol.
I am but a humble, young writer.
And by young, I mean young, I am a miner, in Minecraft obviously ;)
Anyway, I love to write stories, poems, and random things. And I will be sharing them on here!
Feel free to give me a word and I'll try to make a poem out of it :DD
I'll probably also talk about my slow journey of attempting to write music and even show my photography! I love taking pictures of landscapes and nature, and sometimes they turn out really well! (mainly when water is involved, you'll see when I decide to start sharing)
I am a DSMP fan, and I like anime, and I'm a music lover.
I love reading, nature, blah blah blah.
This will be like- an area for me to just talk! And if you want to talk back, you can, I would love to talk to you if you're interested!
Feel free to do so, I'm pretty open, apart from my major social anxiety.
But I'm good at ignoring it if someone talks to me randomly cuz, why not? I mean internet is less social anxiety.
Oh and if you're wondering, my favorite streamer atm is Dream, though I watch Ranboo and Wilbur (and Eret...) the most normally. (This has changed it is Eret as of now 12/11/22)
Though I definitely watch Tommy's and Dream's videos the most...Even more than Jacksepticeye and Markiplier nowadays!
I love a lot of different streamers/youtubers/content creators, I just randomly have the habit of clinging to one random type of content for however long until going to another kind. It's a bit more complicated than that, but yeah.
My favorite bands are Lovejoy and lovelytheband <33
And um, if you're curious my birthday is 02/07 ?? (Jacksepticeye birthday twin yooo)
Um, I think that's all you need to know?
Idk lol.
Fair warning, I vent and complain a lot, and I may talk about a lot of depressing content. Sometimes I might miss adding a TW because I won't know if something I saw will be triggering unless I know for a fact, like, that's obviously a trigger. So keep that in mind! I also casually cuss, especially when I feel strongly, however that may be.
And yeah! I like calling people supremo pringles or potatoes, or my darlings ;) (platonically)
Sooo...Thank you for reading you nice potato <33
Hope your day/afternoon/night goes well!
Remember to take care of yourself!!!
You are loved, valid, important, and you fucking matter lots <33

hi so sorry if this is awkward 😭 i also think i might have a porn addiction. sometimes i can't even get in the mood with my gf or its hard for me to finish without thinking of porn... how do i stop this? i stopped watching porn and I've been clean for like a month. although it hasn't been that hard because I'm preoccupied with uni, I'm afraid that when i get together with my gf it won't get any better. sorry you're just the first person i saw that had a similar experience and i just wanted to know where to start? its honestly so frustrating bcus it started when i was so young and didn't know how fucking harmful it was and now it fucked me up. i feel so bad when i have sex and i just want to fully enjoy it and now fucking overthink all the time.
Hey, definitely not an awkward question at all, I love doing write-ups about this stuff!
The first part we need to understand is why did you start to watch porn in the first place? Was there a trigger? Were you curious? and or did someone introduce you to it, also possibly doing things to you whilst you were watching it?
How old were you when you first started watching porn?
I used to have the same problem in pretty much every single way possible 😅, I couldn't get wet nor could I finish. Is what I used to do instead of porn was to get stoned (which isn't recommended either, do this whilst sober or have a bit of weed because it can relax you but it's better to learn sober) and I would put on some music and keep my clothes on and just touch myself like that and until I felt myself genuinely get horny that is when I would do it skin to skin yk not over the clothes (I'm trying to not make this sound weird af) but another thing I struggled with is ADHD, I have severe ADHD and I constantly needed dopamine, and it always hit me in the ass, (the biggest misconception about ADHD is that we are always horny , which that can be true I'm usually never THAT horny unless I'm high or incredibly attracted to somebody . Most people with ADHD need that dopamine hit which is why people with ADHD are known to masturbate more often) also with ADHD came sexual frustration which is when your so desperate to finish that you stress your body out and your brain won't let you finish. If this would happen, I would stop what I'm doing and breathe and allow my body to relax and get horny again .
1. Get off porn, don't watch it, if you see a video click past it and do not click on it.
2. Make sure you're hydrated my dude, because if you're trying to masturbate with no water in your system it's gon be very dry up there
3. Use lube if you need to.... I don't get why people are so scared of lube, like I could have sex without lube if I wanted to and I wouldn't be in pain but other times I do, like just have some lube there if you need it
4. Make sure you feel safe and comfortable in the environment that you are in, because if you don't feel safe you won't be able to orgasm.
5. Make sure to communicate with your girlfriend, because if you're not able to she won't be able to help you. If she will react badly to it, get yourself a new girlfriend haha.
6. Get yourself a vibrator, or just any toy really. Don't listen to people when they say vibrators will make you less sensitive or break your clit that's just a myth people came up with to make women feel bad about liking self pleasure lmao, is what a vibrator CAN do is make you "numb" to the sensations but your fingers can also do this(don't worry it's not just a vibrator), the clit gets used to certain sensations, movements, speeds and eventually becomes more "numb" to it.
7. TOLERANCE BREAK!!! Exactly the same as number 6, don't be masturbating every day. You will most likely become numb to it and then become sexually frustrated, make sure to switch up what hand you use . If you use your left hand most, every now and then switch to your right and that's the same with if your right handed use your left hand instead. Depending on the person sometimes one side of the clit is more sensitive than the other as well so you can defo check that out lmao
8. Make noise, moaning I'm pretty sure (my sister told me this so it may not be true but she's always right 😂) relaxes the vagina muscles which is why when women give birth they moan a lot, you don't have to go full on porn style mode but just a comfortable amount. Also flow with your body, lifting up your hips slightly when it feels good also can help because it stimulates something idk .
9. (Edit on real quick) If you have any kinks also speak up about that to your partner because that can help a lot
Also make sure your diet is good overall, being on birth control can fuck with your libido or anti depressents (anti depressents from what I remember is they block the serotonin receptors so if you try to masturbate it won't work coz there blocked, I had this problem with ritalin and that shit made me horny AF) make sure to be patient with yourself and don't try to rush it. I prefer to do sexual stuff closer to when I'm getting my period and I'm ovulating because those are the only true times I'm genuinely horny but everyone is different.
Anyways , that's the best I could give at the moment . Always welcome to message me or use the anon I don't mind but I never judge because I've probably been in the exact same situation before 🫶🫶 good luck xx

Alright, I just started Chapter 2 of Danganronpa Another Episode. I hadn't played the game in a really long time - although I had fond memories of it being the type of dark that tickles me, it was really weird claiming I still liked it when I know the other games in the series so much better. So I was seriously looking forward to replaying it.
For now I'm finding the pacing a little weird, but since it's only the beginning, nothing very shocking. The character who has my attention is... you guessed it, Fukawa. (What? You didn't? Shut up.)
In my years since first playing the Danganronpa games, I have learned a lot about that quirky little disorder she has. When I replayed Danganronpa 1, I looked at the details of how her DID was written - and my conclusion was mostly that "ignoring the horrid and tired serial-killer stereotype, because if we don't we're not gonna get anywhere with this, this isn't the worst instance of DID in fiction, because it seems that it used some basis of real elements of how DID works, contrary to other media which completely makes up how the disorder works because it thinks "knowing that there can be two personalities" is enough. Also the localisation is really bad." Of course, the bar is on the floor. What I'm getting at is that I'm wondering if Danganronpa Another Episode does better, worse... or about the same.
With Fukawa as a main character, it puts her and her disorder in the front line. The stun gun thing is pretty violent, but... all things considered, pretty on-par with the mythos that was already established around her switching. It's just. Inaccurate in the first place. But for the purpose of a game mechanic, maybe we can look past it?
The problem is that it comes with other issues. The localisation might have gotten worse... unless that "schizo" thing in 1-2 was its worst. I am genuinely curious whether the original text uses proper vocabulary, or whether it's equally nebulous. For example, in 1-2, what NISA localised as "schizo" was, in Japanese, the proper term for DID. I wonder if all, or some of the instances of "split personality", "changed personality" were phrased better in the original text.
Believe it or not, this is not my main gripe with the current state of Fukawa's writing. Although she is very entertaining and relatable (she remains literally me at times I fear) there is something pretty fucking weird about seeing the girl who developed a dissociative identity disorder due to neglect in childhood call a triggered Daimon "crazy" to the point "nothing can be done for him" or whatever. Although I know Fukawa is not above being a hypocrite, an acknowledgement of sorts is seriously missing in my opinion. Komaru calls her out on other things. Hell, I believe she could even say something along the lines of "he's an unsalvageable psycho like me". A game about child abuse with Fukawa as the deuteragonist would be a perfect occasion to have her give extremely appropriate commentary, and talk about her own backstory.
You're crazy too! And it's your opportunity to become proud of it! Not just because you can "tame" or "control" your alter - you're both the wacko!!! This vocabulary is what I genuinely think a Fukawa who's growing to accept herself could use.
Of course, I know more is to come, and that Fukawa will continue to reveal herself to Komaru. I have little hope that the game will begin to acknowledge Fukawa's ability to relate to childhood trauma (a theme that is constantly present - a single off mention would be unnatural and not enough, and as such not what I'm hoping for) but it's very likely that her relationship to her disorder or trauma is mentioned sensibly in future chapters.
Still, I really appreciate her as a character otherwise. The way she's always on her guard, her reluctance to help and her internal turmoil as she totally-doesn't-have-a-plan-that-could-hurt-Komaru-and-I-mean-why-would-you-as-a-player-expect-that-when-you've-previously-known-her-as-a-"hero"-in-the-story are written really realistically. I wish her DID were less of a game mechanic and more of a part of her turmoil as she walks around Trauma City. I mean Towa City.

Hello there, call me Dr. Hypnos (Or Dr. Fang if you prefer.)
Tumblr media
A brief introduction ;
I am a DID introject, if you do not know what that entails I suggest reading this carrd. But TL;DR, I am a version of the character Dr. Hypnos that was inserted into a human body's brain due to childhood trauma. By the way, our whole system has a Do Not Interact List.
I do technically use any pronouns, but my preferred ones are It/Its, Si/Sins, Moon/Moons, Fe/Fears, Fang/Fangs, Voi/Voids, and Night/Nightmares. Though, He/His has a soft spot in my heart.
I reclaim the f slur. If that is a trigger for you I suggest you leave. /lh
The way I talk can be quite lengthy and eccentric, and I do NOT enjoy brevity unless it's entirely necessary or amusing.
Finally, my interests are mainly Pokemon and Sailor Moon but I also enjoy my source, as well as studying other introjects and various multiverse related things. There's more info below if that interests you, but other than that, take care! -Dr. Fang.
Tumblr media
Ah! So you've chosen to learn more about me. Congrats, you win another Spiritomb gif! Lucky you...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A more extensive introduction;
I guess the beginning of my previous introduction was a bit of a lie. I am not Dr. Hypnos as you know it. My timeline was quite an anomaly all things considered, being a version of Chapter 3 that was formatted like Chapter 1, admins and everything! G-d I could talk about all the differences all day... But I won't waste too much of your time with that. By the way, I have made an edit of myself if you'd like to see, don't worry it's hosted on a carrd that isn't eye-bleeding.
Curious about my gender? I concocted it myself, I call it "Screw the Cis People my gender can be a chair if I want it to be!"... The name's a work in progress but that gets the point across I think.
Oh my dearest Forzy- I mean Dr. Sleepless. Oh how I miss them every day, and his... Oh, there goes my memory again.
If you couldn't tell I'm quite a big fan of Spiritomb, hell I've even based my appearance and name on it! (The name part being from the moveset I used, Hypnosis/Dream Eater/Shadow Ball/Feint) There's really no other pokemon I love more than my dearest Spiritomb. The only other pokemon I enjoy a sliver as much would be Hydreigon.
If you cannot tell I do love to fucking talk now don't I? I just cannot force myself to shut the hell up.. :J /lh /pos Oh well, I guess you have to deal with that don't you? You made the choice to keep reading haven't you? You could have left by now! Not that I want you to. I could talk until the stars go out about anything in the world, but I'll spare you... For now.
Chronomates? Ah yeah I have those. If my memory serves me right there's a fellow Evil Scientist who has a robot fetish and a Pink 'Weasel' with an affinity for movie theaters. I'm sure xey've missed me quite a lot, I mean who wouldn't miss this gorgeous face, hm?~
Wow, you stuck around? Thank you kindly. Have a waffle! 🧇

i draw too much from real life (autism go brrr i guess) but how do lurien’s wings fold?? like he usually has them pinned against his back but how does that. work. irl butterflies cannot do that so my brain is like ???? does not compute and im curious to know what you think
Oh big same?? Biology is my special interest so it makes everything even worse for me ksjdhfbgjsdf
The answer lies in specbio! Many of the lepidoptera genus in Hollow Knight appear to be able to fold down their wings/make them go limp in a manner that would be incompatable with irl butterflies and moths, so my hc is that to prevent tear for a bipedal lifestyle, they only pump hemolymph and other fluids into their wings when they're ready to fly, leaving them limp against their back otherwise. This means that being to fly quickly away from danger is nearly impossible, yes, but it also makes their wings harder to tear and less dangerous to them if they are damaged, which is essential when walking upright means that they'd be either folded behind their backs, where they can catch on things (butterflies), or to the sides where others can walk into them (moths). So instead of them pumping out their wings once after pupating and being ready to fly all the time, they are capable of turning them back and forth between being limp and fabriclike to being taught, strong wings for flight. This is either triggered by a conscious desire to fly, or arousal of some sort (fear, anger, etc) that gets their subconscious mind convinced that they either need to fly, flare their markings to one-up another in a dominance contest, or flash their wings to lure in a mate.
(For sanity's sake, and bc Markoth, Seer, and Thistlewind seem perfectly fine letting their own wings drag about, we're going to assume that the wing structure of anthro moths and butters is far stronger than actual insect wings irl, and that their scales function more like the feathers/featherdust of cockatiels vs irl. There's always some scales being rubbed off of the wings, but most of them are firmly fixed into place and can be regenerated if lost, unlike with real butterflies/moths. I'm going to attribute that to anthro bugs having far longer lifespans than irl bugs as well, who are very much 'PUPATE FUCK AND DIE')
For Lurien, his wings are especially crumpled because he never saw any reason to fly, and his position in his spire keeps him from going out and getting freaked out much. Butterflies are distinct from moths in that they fold their wings against their backs instead of laying them out to the sides, so he can't drape them around them with the same ease that the moth tribe does, which means they just kinda get mushed beneath his cape most of the time. The lack of use combined with the fact that he hates being looked at/he's pretty much convinced that PK would never throw a glance his way means that, for the most part, he never pumps out his wings, so they're just kinda. hanging there uselessly unless he gets especially pissed off at something. Think about crinkled clothes in a closet- technically you can iron them and put them in those protective thingies, but they're really more convenient to just stuff into whatever space is available and deal with the crinkles if you don't use them often enough to warrant such a loss of space

Comics this week (10/13/2021)?
Anonymous asked: Non-Superman and the Authority comics this week?
deathchrist2000 asked: So… Thoughts on Strange Adventures? Was it everything you wanted it to be?
adudewholikescomicsandotherstuff asked: So between the immortal hulk finale and the strange adventures finale AND the Superman and the authority finale, this was a pretty stacked week for comics, huh?
pretenderoftheeast asked: Sooo, Superman and the Authority *and* The Immortal Hulk concluding today. Thoughts?
Strange Adventures #12: These beautiful men have composed a 12-issue testament the soul-quaking moral horror of realizing that you fucked Adam Strange. Full offense, if you've ever wanted anything more than this in comics you are the living embodiment of greed.
Wonder Woman #780: Wondering if I should drop off here - this is actually a really solid issue, but it's such a clean breaking point and for some reason I have a feeling it's gonna be weaker going forward.
Hardware Season One #2: I still like this pretty well, and I want to support Brandon Thomas as a rising name who's doing things I like, but I'm only vibing with this so much and now it's expecting me to be reading the other Milestone titles, so I'm not sure I'll keep with it.
The Joker #8: Solid but probably the weakest issue of the title to date, also this extremely casually drops a TITANIC reveal unless I missed something previously and I don't think I'm a fan.
Batman: Urban Legends #8: Another one I'm on the precipice of dropping; this time it's Thomas who's got me holding on, but even Watters' input here isn't grabbing me.
I Am Batman #2: All due respect to Steven Segovia, but without Coipel here anymore and now that I'm finally satisfied in that I've seen this dude become Batman, I think I'm about ready to cut my losses. Lots of potential dropped books this week! Which is probably a good thing given how much I'm obviously dropping, though at least next week's a small one for me to compensate.
Batman '89 #3: This is growing on me fast, and I'm really curious where they'll go with this take on Harvey with the latest curveball.
Justice League: Last Ride #6: I don't know whether I love or hate the twist here. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't looking forward to the last issue, but this remains a disappointment.
Superman and The Authority #4: Yes I *am* smug that I predicted a few things, thank you for asking. Final mini-annotations incoming.
Second Coming: Only Begotten Son #6: Rapidly burning out on Russell in general but this particular book continues to work for me, I'll stick with it as long as it's around.
No One Left To Fight II #1: Was so excited to hear this book was coming back but didn't see any release date, then only saw last night it was today! Lucky me, it's back in fine form and I'm really happy to see a title I wanted room to grow into itself get that chance.
Mamo #4: It's clear now this is meant to be read in trade to the point I kinda wish I'd waited, but this is really, really lovely and I'd fully recommend grabbing it yourself once it drops as a full collection.
6 Sidekicks of Trigger Keaton #5: God this book rules.
Avengers #49: Huh, I thought the current plot would fully wrap up in this issue. Well, it's still dumb as all fuck and I still dig it.
X-Men #4: Avengers' cleaner, less dumb as fuck cousin, I dig it too.
Iron Man #14: A mix of the by-the-numbers dry execution that's often made this run frustrating and the moments of inspiration and joy that make it hard for me to look away.
Darkhold: Iron Man: Damn, Ryan North. I haven't seen Guillermo Sanna before, but he's also real real good.
Gamma Flight #5: This book felt like a quick little sideways glance into a universe where Al Ewing wrote Hulk and it was roughly regular Al Ewing good instead of what we really got, but that still means this is good.
The Immortal Hulk #50: It's unfortunately sort of the perfect capstone that there's a truly beautiful moment in this issue, a testament to all this series has accomplished, that is made specifically, viscerally uncomfortable due to Joe Bennett (who does infuriatingly spectacular work here as his final bow of nominal respectability before going to do comics for fucking Vox Day). This is the best longform run Marvel has ever published and it's not close, and I cannot in good conscience ever recommend it. God willing Ewing gets an opportunity of equivalent profile and scope in the future that doesn't have the foundation torn out from under it like this, nevermind at the last minute.
