These 2 panels stand out to me a lot not just because they are stylistically cool but because of the meaning in every detail of them. The violet and jade fighting for dominance in the background mirroring the way Kanaya and Eridan are fighting. Kanaya in black and Eridan in white, partly to represent his aspect of hope and having the villain in white which is generally a “heroic color”. Then the background turning black as he kills her representing the kind of finality in this blow. Both of them are now silhouetted in their blood colors. Could be interpreted as a larger commentary on how highbloods treat those loser than them on the hemospectrum, lowbloods don’t even get the dignity of a more sure (?) decision they are killed with no hesitation and no remorse. The white cutting through the darkness. The blood splatter. Kanaya’s hands going up in shock as she is killed whereas Eridan doesn’t move at all. It’s all insane. I’m insane about this webcomic.

@circus-clangen has been one of my favorite clangen challenges to follow. If not my favorite. (I follow on my main, Snailldragon btw. Just to avoid confusion)

The puzzles are really cool and unique, and the humanization of the design while them still being cats is really cool. So I wanted to do a piece of fan art for it.

I hope I captured the vibes right. I thought about going in with some intense shading, but didn’t want to overcrowd it.

Also, not an original character for Circusclan, but bonus art of Bravestar in the sort of designs they do/circus-clan vibes because I haven’t drawn her in forever and I really miss her.

I’ve been calling this version of her Braveact :). She likes bells.

I also made her red instead of orange so she didn’t look too much like Tigertoe lol

“I have my poetry” and “I’m not a parasite”

I started this piece over a month ago and multiple times almost gave up on it :’) BUT I have finally finished it! This piece tested the phrase ‘trust the process’ so hard, mostly because I was making up the process as I went. The lighting particularly was tricky, but I’m slowly getting better with it (and two for one, I get to practice painting techniques and draw these two!)

okay, I’m going full red string over the last episode. mainly because if queen amangeaux (put some goddamn respect on her name) had a child with her husband, wouldn’t that have solved all her problems? Sure, it would make her a target but the bishop was already warning her to lay low at the festival, and at least this would’ve secured her place on the throne until her child came of age. Unless she knew she was pregnant and then she decided not to say anything in trying to follow the bishop’s advice? Or she didn’t know at the time and then everything popped off. But that makes the baby at least a year and 3/4 months (if we use human pregnancy as the timeline??) and the baby read more as a newborn to me? Also in the adventuring party when they discussed the bishop’s secret, Anjali pointed out that he could’ve been poisoning her or her husband with the tea leaves to stop her from producing an heir. which could be a red herring, or could mean that the baby belongs to someone other than her husband, hence why she’s hidden him away. which would make sense since the coloring is a little different. So either the baby isn’t hers biologically and is just in her care, she had an affair while her husband was still alive, the baby is the true heir, or she got pregnant in the two year time jump.
