the major reason i dont like ange having a witch outfit is that its never written in the text that she does. and like. umineko is a visual novel, right, so a lot of things aren’t elaborated in that way sometimes, but i DO think that if she had a magical girl transformation that it would be addressed. battler’s cape was addressed, why would ange walk in with a whole ass new outfit without a word.

anyways i also dont like the design of her witch outfit, or any of the beta designs either. not sure if ryukishi conceptualized them or anything but i am not a fan of any of them regardless if he did or not.

tbh i just think ange should have a cape like battler, or NOTHING. nothing preferably, she was the witch of the future basically since her introduction, she had no need to be transformed into a witch, she always was one.

#shitpost #and like...other than battler and maria we don't see any other witch transformations like that #//not addressing yaus's various symbolic forms as they are symbols even moreso than battler/maria's witchforms #i would argue that yasu actually doesn't have a main form b/c the whole point of the story #is that her identity is so fractured that she is formless #she has so many forms that theres nothing that #i would ALSO argue that the most 'yasu' of yasu would be. 1 obviously what we get ni ep7 with her entire backstory #aka where she doesn't have any solid form herself and is surrounded by her delusions (gaap/zepar/furfur/etc)#(even shannon in that form)#and 2 claire who exists only to be yasu's corpse #3 the man from 19 years ago #who...you know. is a voice on the phone and not a physical presence #(*correction on 2 beatrice in ep7 exists as yasus corpse while claire is sort of her living corpse that exists to be properly killed)#beatrice is yasu but her form is not yasu #ok also for my ange arguement: Erika was always a witch and was given her outfit that she didn't 'transform' out of #she had a swimsuit as a piece too but her metaform always had jessica's dress #ALSO her wedding dress wasn't a new transformation or anything so meh #also evatrice is more like yasu-esque rather than a true witch-form of eva #also note that rosa who is ALSO textually referred to as a witch DOESN'T HAVE A WITCH FORM #IM JUST SAYING.
