Phil: (maybe) deliberately delays the trip so that when techno comes to the manor, his parents might be mad at him and present an opportunity for him to drive a wedge between them so he can get more trust / use it as a “well they were dicks so really I’m saving you” excuse before adopting tech

Phil: “This will work out perfectly and techno probably won’t even realise what I’ve done until too late!”

Techno: gets scratched on the cheek pretty badly, gets his hair shaved off and then gets locked in his room ignored and alone just to top it all off.

Phil: 👁️👁️

Phil: “I may have miscalculated just a tiny bit. Slightly bigger wedge than I was expecting but I’m used to improvising at this point”

The real magic behind this royal family is the way they’re constantly able to fuck up literally ANY plan Phil has with them. Purely just a “oh you think you’re bad?? Watch this!” And then they just accidentally neglect their son.

The royal family: “We have 2 perfect children. It’s not really our fault when we compare the normal one to them and punish him harshly because if it!”

Phil: “You’ve fucked up a perfectly good sonboy is what you did! Look at him. Now he has self worth issues ON TOP of anxiety!”

That and just:

Phil, finally coming face to face to renegotiate the deal: “You’re not leaving until I get my son.”

The royals: “Don’t you mean daughter??”

Phil: “I know what I said”

Or:

The king and queen: “We want nothing more than to have our children happy and safe which is why we’re going to the queen of fae to negate this deal”

Techno: Would genuinely intimately be happier and safer if he was adopted by Phil and Kristin. He gets to experience everything they deprived him of ON TOP of becoming immortal and having 2 of the most powerful fae in existence willing to go to battle for him in a HEARTBEAT

The king and queen: “No not like that-“

As well as:

The king and queen: “Wow we’re such good parents!”

Phil: Provides a better parenting experience in a single evening than they did in their entire lives of having 3 children

Phil: Steals the one child they never truly appreciated and gives him the best life POSSIBLE to make up for all that he missed and went through

Phil: “And I’d do it again BITCH”

I genuinely just adore the thought of Phil having just CONSTANT beef with them, like it’s not even about the deal anymore he’s just mad at them over their parenting skills. Just doing ANYTHING he can to fuckin upstage them, bro has beef with them down to the BONE with how mad he is.

Phil: Deliberately has Kristin make winter colder just so the king and queen like have problems heating the castle and their kingdom struggles

The king and queen: “Damn it’s fuckin way too cold this year”

Phil: “And that’s what you deserve! I fuckin PRAY you freeze”

Techno: Shivers slightly

Phil: “Oh my baby, my poor sonboy. Do you want some enchanted blankets to keep you warm? What about some Totally Not Magical stew to make you extra toasty?? Maybe even a heating enchantment on that earring???”

Bro will forever be their BIGGEST hater. He wakes up every day and tries spread as many bad vibes onto them as possible. He literally worked out a way to magically make sure both sides of their pillows would be warm. That’s the level of hating he’s been on.

Or that meme with I receive vs you receive:

Phil: “Here’s the deal, I receive a perfect sonboy who I can dote on and adore with my wonderful wife for the rest of forever”

Phil: “You receive me not obliterating your entire bloodline and taking the kid anyway”

The king and queen: “I can’t help but feel this real might be a little bit uneven”

Techno: “Do I get a say in this like at all??”

Phil: “No ❤️”

That 1 sentence just spurred on so much brainrot for me I couldn’t help but share! My brain created like 50 different pathways just to brainrot and come up with more scenarios. I’m like going back and checking for spelling mistakes and I’m literally only just realising now how much I’ve written lmao

🌯🗡️ back again just to say once more, FUCK MIELLE. I reread the chap again and I cant believe I forgot to include her forgetting Techno fucking exists in the novel. Sis he is only 4 fucking years younger than you and he's achieved what you were literally MADE to do!

Your whole existence hinges on Phil deciding one day "hmmmm me want baby for wife" and you were so unlovable that the second he saw you he stood in the middle of the fucking road for like 5 hours because of how rancid your vibes were until the perfect sonboy known as your baby brother came up and fixed the vibes!

I just wanna see Mielle get her ego ripped to fucking shreds at this point. She's had it too good for far too long.

Felix isn't off the fucking hook either Mr."I should turn you and your horse into fucking glue" isn't nearly as innocent as like I first read him as. Like I tried give him just a smidge of wiggle room and he decked me in the face for it. I hate the both of them so much, Techno will need so many snuggles when the custody battle is over.

I have no idea how I missed that shit, I must've been in fucking shock at these egregious actions against the perfect baby boy. If they act like this here imagine how they acted at fucking home. Techno trying to copy his brother?? And then being mocked for it????? I'm in shambles. Shattered.

Both Techno's siblings are utter dogshit and its a CRIME that they even have a similar appearance to Tommy and Wilbur. Brown fluffy hair? Wilbur Sootification. Blond hair blue eyes? Tommy Innitification. I don't make the rules. Would Wilbur lose an archery contest to a 12 year old while he's like 20? ABSOLUTELY. Would he ever be anywhere near this mean to Techno?? Never in a million fucking years.

Simply cannot wait for the boy to get got. Yoinking needs to initiate immediately. SOS as Save Our Souls? Nah bro its Save Our Sonboy. Save him from these crimes committed against him, Philza Minecraft, patron saint of son stealing.

The similarities between Tommy and Wilbur were not intentional lololol. But it is a very funny parallel.

Me: Damn I wonder how many times I've reread TBTF

The grip your writing has on me is unholy, you have me by the neck at this point. I'm crumpled. Curled up on the floor. There's a weird difference between knowing you like certain fics a lot and then seeing just how much you like them in your stats.

If anything those numbers should just prove to you that you don't need to ever worry about the quality of your writing. You've gotten a complete stranger to return to your fics and reread them a collective 396 times. One stranger. 80,897 INDIVIDUAL people have read both TBTF and STH combined. Imagine how many times that's added up. The maths is fuckin nuts.

(Oh also STH by chapter 5 will have passed the minimum length for a novel (also also TBTF has PASSED the maximum average length for a novel, not counting a taste of freedom))

Anyway though, that's my little tidbit that I decided to share, I hope you have a wonderful day, as always I hope I didn't overstep and I'm sorry if I've overwhelmed you <3!

🌯🗡️ anon here! Just woke up and the new chap and jesus christ I feel so fucking bad for Techno!

Like Phil genuinely can't come soon enough, when he next see's Techno I know that mans gonna be FURIOUS. God I don't even know what to start on there's just so much to like go over!

First with the people staring, of course they'd start getting eyefuls the second Phil isn't around to guard his sonboy and make them scatter away; It just sucks that Techno's gonna have to deal with it for now, don't worry Tech you have a very murderous father waiting for you, just wait a couple days and all will be fixed!

And then we move onto Mielle. Fuck Mielle. All my homies hate Mielle. Like I understand to a point that its fae nature to be an asshole since they're such self centred creatures but like, she's an asshole even for a fae. No wonder Phil rejected this little bastard, her vibes are simply too rancid to be allowed near his wonderful perfect wife!

She's gonna handle Phil not wanting her WONDERFULLY I can just tell after her totally reasonable response to the cookies. Also her wanting to yoink Phil's earring??? I already know that would've ended horribly for her, bros probably enchanted that to be a nuclear bomb for anyone else to wear. Nuclear bombza dare I say. I understand to a degree that the others are affected by whatever fae magic she's unconsciously / consciously using but honestly so far the only redeemable one is the queen.

Mielle: "I know you wanna adopt me SO BAD but I wanna stay with this family"

Phil: "Ew?? Who even are you??? Move aside so I can see my real baby"

Techno: 🧍‍♂️

Phil, practically vibrating with joy: "There he is!!! There's the boy!!!!" :D

Mielle: "HIM????"

Like with the cookie scene. "Techno’s grip around the bag loosened for a moment, habitually giving in to Mielle's request" Techno I don't think that's entirely habit. Mielle really wasn't prepared for her personal punching bag to gain a bit of magic resistance against her huh. Like I know Phil absolutely like enchanted the promise because that's technically a deal and since he's more powerful than her, he won that little battle but like bro accidentally threw Tech into like boiling water with that one.

Mielle: No fear

Phil: "I heard you gave Techno a bit of a scratch m8, lets have a little chat"

Mielle: 1 fear

Mielle after Techno spills what she did to Phil: "Why do I hear boss music??"

Also the scratch??? Phil was already gonna be mad about the hair but his sonboy being hurt?? In a custody battle they don't even know they're fighting??? If Kristin was already trying to deny him it'd take 1 look at the little skrunkle for him to just steal her Entire Heart away. Instantly.

Kristin: "Phil as much as I'd like to give into you, this is a very big commitment and I don't know if you're ready for it! No matter how wonderful he might be."

Techno: Walks in with a massive scratch on his cheek and his hair shaved off, visibly miserable. Very much looking like a sad wet cat.

Kristin: 🧡👄🧡

Kristin: "Oh. Oh he is a little baby isn't he? A sweet baby boy. A sonboy. Isn't he cute? He's kind?? Talented too, you say??? Our sonboy now. I want full custody and I want it NOW"

On that note though. Felix. Fuck Felix. All my homies hate Felix. Bro pretends to like sympathise with Techno but like very clearly sees himself above him. I wanna think he TRIES to be a good brother but if I'm completely honest I doubt that. Bro was obviously mad that Tech like started making his own way in the world. Watch it come up that the king and queen didn't order the hair thing at all. Purely just him bullying Techno for daring to say no to his spoiled brat of a sister.

He's still a bit of a magic baby anyway due to like Phils original deal so I think he'd have a bit of magic resistance too since the whole magical conception / womb deal. I could absolutely be wrong but like he clearly has some magic to him, meaning he in theory SHOULD be more resistant to Mielle. He probably just decides to give into her so he can feed his ego more.

You're like 21 bullying a 13 year old, get a fucking life Felix. Maybe get a hobby. I heard Getting Ripped Apart by Philza was about to come into season real soon; maybe give that a go! Oh also! I'm gonna cast my little guess for how this is gonna end out here to see how far off I might be when the end gets revealed. I have a feeling that it's gonna end in Mielle and Felix maybe getting punished rather than the queen and king.

Like yeah they're the ones that broke the deal but the kids ARE the deal and they have been fucking with Phil's new baby boy. So maybe the punishment will just be "You wanted kids?? I you had 3 but you refused to give me the 1 you promised so now I'm taking 1 by force and killing the other 2" type deal or more of a "You broke the deal but gimmie the one kid you had outside the deal and I'll call it even".

Oh and back to the hair! I'm not entirely sure how long it really is since Tech refused to look in the mirror so mentally I'm thinking of more of a classic Wilbur Soot type hair rn, does that mean Phils faerie knot got cut out?? If that's his tracker / the way he can get to his sonboy then that's even more angst for Tech. He's really just had an awful day. First he say to say bye to Phil, then Mielle is a bitch, then FELIX is a bitch and finally Phil doesn't come to visit him?? So much more skrunkle for the skrunkle boy!

I know I've like brushed on it a bit twice but like Phil is gonna be SO fucking furious when he see's what they've done. He leaves his baby boy in their custody for like 14 hours TOPS if he doesn't come visit Techno in the manor and they fuck up THAT much??? Like its good since that's gonna push Tech even more into Phil but also Phil wants Tech to be fucking happy for once!

Phil: "He's gonna come in any moment my love, you cant miss him, he's the boy with the long pink hair and adoptable vibes!"

Kristin: "I mean I see a kid with pink hair but his hair is far shorter than you said and and he looks miserable; He's kinda like a sad wet cat, I can see how he's perfect for us!"

Phil: :) "Ikr! He's so wonderfu- WAIT HOW DID THEY FUCK HIM UP THAT BAD SO QUICKLY????" >:O

Phil shaking the king and queen by the shoulders: >:( "WHAT DID YOU DO??? WHY DO YOU KEEP RUINING THINGS????"

I just love the thought of Phil having to like sales pitch Techno to Kristin and her having been on board ages ago or like her getting a single look at Techno and him just YOINKING her heart. Simply doing what Phil spent literal DECADES trying to do in like 2 seconds flat.

Phil: "Hes super good at archery, very kind and so SO skrunkly"

Kristin: :/ "Idk Phil I'm just not sure"

Phil, sighing: "I guess I have to pull out the big guns then"

Kristin "oh?"

Phil: "I saw him eat an entire hand pie in under 30 seconds. He unhinged his jaw like some kind of snake and nearly swallowed it whole. It was awful. I thought he was gonna choke like every bite!"

Kristin: :O

Kristin: "Terrifying. When can I meet him?? He sounds wonderful!" :D

Techno's gonna get so many pies when Phil wins the custody battle I can see it now. They call him the blood god because he's always 'covered in blood' but it's actually all the filling of the pies Phil gives him. He just shoved too many in his mouth at once and it got all over his shirt. He's too embarrassed to correct anyone so he just lets the rumour continue. Phil and Kristin find it HILARIOUS. Whenever Techno's upset in the future, post adoption, they always give him cookies or pie to comfort him. He deserves it.

Techno: 👁️💧🐽💧👁️

Phil: "I'm gonna give this boy so much fucking pie you don't even know"

Phil eventually teaches Techno how to bake, Techno immediately uses it for evil. The Potato Pie Incident will forever be feared in the fae court. That on top of many more disasters he begins through baking; he becomes as infamous as Phil because of it. Phil is so SO proud.

Fae courtier: "You suck! you're just Phil and Kristins pity project!!"

Techno: "Say that again and I PROMISE I'll go into the fucking kitchen and start baking ON TOP of telling mum and dad!"

Fae courtier, shaking in fear: "I'm so sorry young prince, I don't know what came over me! Please don't punish others for my actions!!"

Phil: "Hey Tech! How's my little piggy doing? What are you baking??" :D

Techno, in a frilly apron: "Revenge" >:(

Phil, crying: "I'm so proud!" :,)

He's a very special boy. Who wouldn't want to stare? But, to be fair, most of the people staring were humans. The fae scattered. They know better. Mostly. Some snuck back to stare once Philza skipped off. How could they not? Gossips, the lot of them.

Mielle is very much not a good person, nope. She is a bad apple, for sure. Kind of hard not to be when you are raised thinking you are perfect. She's selfish. She's vain. She thinks she is the only person and everyone else is just side characters. Techno saying NO???? Literally, hacks. No way. Couldn't happen. That is IMPOSSIBLE???

And yeah, Phil absolutely threw Techno into a very bad situation. Though, I think you might need to be wary of the "accidentally" in that sentence. Granted, I doubt he realized how hot the pot really was when he threw Techno into it.

As you said, he will NOT be happy with tbe scratch. His sonboy? Scratched? SCRATCHED?

I love how you describe Kristin seeing the sad skrunkle of a Techno for the first time. It had me cackling all day.

Yeah, Felix honestly thinks he's helping. He isn't, but he isn't being an ass just for the sake of being an ass. But he absolutely pulled the soup trick, and the exploring around thing to soften Techno to get him to cut his hair. Like, that was an intentional move. It wasn't a coincidence.

And Felix IS less affected by Mielle's magical pull. But, it's also a little sister who he was raised to be incredibly protective of and honestly hold in higher regard than his own country. His devotion is less magical and more that he was raised to view her as the most important person. Like, he was 4 when she was born. Imagine being told over and over again from the age of 4 that you HAVE to protect your sister. That your sister is delicate and special and we are putting everything on the line for her. Like, that's also a factor. He has more of a resistance, magically. But he was still raised to act that way.

Techno's hair is very short. One inch of hair is not very long. My sister cuts hair, and I asked her how short 1 inch of hair is, and she said it was a clipper guard 8.

Heads up that I've only been up for like an hour and most that was just reading this chap so I might be a little more scatter brained than usual lmao!

First, Tech being an adorable sleepy boy in the morning! Phil was fucking loving that lmao, every time he decides that Tech couldn't possibly become more endearing, BAM, Tech throws even more at him. Oh! Also I love Techno's dynamic between him and Skeppy! It genuinely feels like proper banter! You're an absolute god when it comes to writing character interactions that feel organic, that shits amazing!

Oh! And the porridge!! Tech call it a hunch but I don't think that your sense of taste is suddently gonna get better when you eat the cooking they'll serve to the royal family. Oh and Phil just sneaking in more bits of Totally Not Magical food to Tech when no one's looking? Delectable! He is making sure his new sonboy eats GOOD if he has any say in the matter!

Also the hair scene?? Perfection! Tech freaking out a bunch when they threaten to cut his hair?? I'm sure that doesn't stem from some deep seeded trauma from younger years at all and with Phil stepping in? Bro saw how upset his new baby got over that shit and wanted to put an end to it IMMEDIATELY!

On a side note, Skeppy and Bad are absolutely onto him but like they keep accidentally demonising themselves in Techno's eyes! Sure they probably don't think (know) Phil is the Queens hubby but like they just keep accidentally pushing Techno into his comfort!! Phil was absolutely LOVING Techno coming to him for like feelings of safety I absolutely know it.

Like Skeppy Techno doesn't understand fully why you keep being a dick to his Totally Human Friend Phil, you're being so overprotective! yeah he feeds him strangely delicious and weirdly perfect food but that's what other peoples Totally Human Friends do! Don't be such a worry wart! Oh and Techno being like a dog when they eat something they shouldn't be eating?? Delicious meal for the brain rot!

Oh also the hair tying scene! Wonderful, Techno I'm sure those hair ties disappeared out of Totally Normal Ways and I'm sure that funky buzzing you feel whenever you're in contact with Phil is Not At All Magical in ANY way! Also father matching son?? Adorable! Phil is way softer for this kid than he thinks lmao!

Phil: "Now that his guard is distracted, I can sneak him more magical food and tighten this magical bond I'm building with him!"

Techno: Shoves the whole thing in his mouth like a feral dog and nearly chokes several times

Phil: "Maybe less pie in the future"

The joys of fatherhood! Phil's gonna absolutely have a heart attack when Techno inevitably chokes on food!

Skeppy: "Techno that could've been poisoned! You know better!!"

Phil: >:0 "First you think I'd let my new baby starve and now you think I'd poison him??? How dare you!!"

Phil literally 48 hours ago: Would've absolutely poisoned him with 0 remorse

I also love how like Techno being sheltered shines through in the way he interacts with Phil a lot too! Like when he said "see he said its dumb to poison me!" after eating Phil's secret magic pie lmao, like Techno I hate to tell you this but that's absolutely not how the world works lmao. Oh and Phil's slip by nearly calling the Queen Kristin?? Bro's probably not as sneaking as he things. He thinks he's yoinking the child but the child is also unknowingly yoinking him back too!

That along with the whole ferry ride in general? Scrumdiddlyumptious! Also the ferry tailoring itself basically entirely for Phil? Decorating itself in bells as if to ring out and announce the arrival of something or someone very important?? On top of favouring Techno to the point of giving him special little sparkles that trail him??? How strange, I'm sure that's just a coincidence! That along with Techno now subconsciously crediting most help he receives to Phil? Consider the sonboy primed and ready for adoption at this point!

"He knew better than to eat faerie food." Techno I hate to tell you this but Phil's magical cookies and pie might've been a bit more dubious than you think. Along with the wings scene?? I KNOW Techno nearly gave Phil a heart attack with that one, that on top of Techno saying it'd be cool to have wings?? Bro is like quite literally giving Phil all the adoption papers necessary!

Techno: "Damn it kinda sucks I'm probably not gonna live to 14"

Phil: Literally in the middle of yoinking him

Phil: "Yeah for some reason I don't think that's gonna be your biggest problem soon m8, now help me pick out the colours of your new room!"

That and Phil giving him his earring?? Absolutely wonderful! Techs gonna be sat there in that mansion wondering why all the fae servants there are treating him like a KING meanwhile Phil's Totally Not Magical earring just hangs all innocent from his ear.

That on top of when they were getting off the ferry? The Fae trying to do a shit tonne of mental math to figure out why the Queens hubby is hanging around a human child while said child freaks out and snuggles into Phil for comfort?? Word is gonna spread about this so fucking fast it'll be a wonder if Kristin doesn't already know about it before Phil magics his way there!

Can you tell how much I liked the whole ferry segment yet? lmao!

That along with how protective Phil is while Techno is just completely oblivious, like yeah Tech I'm sure that crowd left willingly and not because Phil looked 2 seconds away from murdering them for making you so uncomfortable! Oh and Phil being sentimental with the cart was so cute; At least he got over the loss quick with the prospect of seeing Kristin, just him coming home and being like "Hey babe, I know I was gone for a bit but that's because I fucked up an adoption; Don't worry about that tho since I've gotten a newer, better child instead. BTW about that first adoption, that's what this whole shebang is about with all these humans coming over so maybe if you can twist the deal to get us our new baby that's be super sweet <3"

I also adore the thought of Phil just being so easy to distract the second Kristin is ever mentioned; Like just him scolding Techno post adoption after he's done something bad and Tech just being like "btw how did you and mum meet again?" while Phil's mid sentence and Phil just completely derailing to talk about how they met for the 1000th time and forgetting why he was mad.

Oof that was a long brainrot but I hope you've enjoyed, as always I'm sorry if I've overwhelmed you and I hope you have a nice day! Also don't feel so bad for writing what you brainrot about! These things happen, I don't understand why people would be like "ugh Lenn has given us yet ANOTHER fic that she's completing??" as if that's not like a net positive? He's a sleepy boy :) so sleepy. And Phil is loving it. Have you ever seen the pure bafflement on someone's face that wakes up and has no clue what's happening? Its adorable. And Phil is, of course, LOVING IT.

I'm glad you like the character interaction! I love writing characters teasing each other, its so fun. And this is my first time writing Skeppy and Bad, but the constant sniping at each other is INCREDIBLY fun lol.

I'm sure the porridge just tasted bad, right? There are no consequences to eating dubious food from a magic guy, right? It's fiiiiiiineee. Lol.

And, I mean, if said dubious food DID have effects, well, Phil is going to make sure that Techno doesn't get sick from hunger while he's apart from him, right? A little pie to tie him over. Make sure he keeps those cookies on him in case he gets a bit hungry. Not a perfect solution, but its better than nothing.

Yeah, Techno is protective of his hair. He likes it. It's something that's solely his. It looks nothing like his brother's hair when it is long and pink, so he doesn't get any comments about comparing him to his brother. I mean, he DOES, but not about his his appearance.

And yeah, Phil had two reasons for them not to cut it out. First was he put it there, and he doesn't want his little protection (and possibly tracking) charm gone. But the second is because Techno was visibly upset about the fact. Like, the kid is not dumb. He knows whats at stake. And he would rather risk it than cut his hair? Yeah, no cutting his hair. Shoo. Let him keep it.

I love the hair scene! And I'll be honest, that scene is almost completely inspired by Fairy-locks by Marsalias. Not a SBI fic, its a Danny Phantom fic but if you enjoy eldritch time deities adopting tiny unaware that he is an eldritch being teenage boy, I definitely recommend the whole Grandfather Clocks series they have written. And, of course, Mortified that goes with it.

Then again, the main premise of the fic is inspired by their Changeling fic, but I can't help that Rivers is an amazing author.

Anyway, yessss the hair scene!!! I love the hair scene!!! I very very important scene.

Bad and Skeppy definitely think Phil is sus. But it's also kind of their job to think he's sus. And they also DON'T like that Techno is getting so close so fast. Techno immediately latching onto palace staff? Fine and good. They already know the entire background of every person in the palace that can come in contact with Techno. They even know a large amount of people's backgrounds who even get NEAR the palace on the regular. They don't know Phil. This is Techno's first real trip outside the palace and they are trying their best not to make Techno be paranoid around people by seeing them act paranoid about people. They don't want him to be afraid of the world. But its their job to be paranoid and to keep him safe. And Phil is just so so sus.

Also, Techno's veracity in eating sweets is absolutely inspired by my time as a middle school substitute teacher. Teenage boys are so fucking weird /pos. They have so little impulse control. And they eat everything SO FUCKING FAST. So many times I have worried they were going to choke. There is a reason I never upheld teacher rules about not having food in classrooms. One because fuck making kids sit and be hungry. I'm not doing that shit. I'll just sweep if they get stale cookie crumbs on the floor. And two, because I have watched enough teenage boys inhale whole packages of chips while standing at the door. It can't be healthy. They need to chew. Please, if you are a teenage boy and you are reading this, know that I desperately am begging you to chew your food. Please.

Yeah, Phil stole all his hairties. He saw an opportunity, and he took it. Literally. Also, Techno had SO MANY HAIRTIES. The boy was prepared. (Honestly, overprepared). Phil was pulling out hair ties like those clown handkerchiefs. They just kept coming. More reason for why Techno is irritated he couldn’t find them. He packed like 50???? Where did they go???? Even the ones he planned to put in Carl's mane are gone??? This is ridiculous.

"👁👁Maybe less pie in the future" had me nearly sick from laughing so hard. Very accurate to his thought process.

Phil may have been totally down with letting Techno die 24 hours ago, but that was then and this is now. And how dare Skeppy insinuate that Phil would harm Techno. He's a changed man. A father now.

And yeah, Techno's been a bit sheltered. Or maybe a lot. He should really be more worried about things.

And yeah, Phil is used to being sneaky but he just wants the sonboy. He doesn't want to be sneaky, he wants the sonboy. He could probably just grab him at this point and book it, but he doesn't want to SCARE him. Also, he has machinations in the work so grabbing the sonboy would kind of ruin that. He's balancing revenge and sonboy.

Yes, I had a lot of fun with the Faerie Ferry. I had to do that for the pun. And also for the little bit of reference to Charon's ferry. Like, this is a Fae AU, but I'm gonna make as many references to the realm of the dead as I can because its Kristin. Like, Charon's ferry. And the fact that it changes shape to fit the person being a really weak allusion to Anubis weighing the heart before entrance. And the Faerie Realm being an island as a reference to Avalon, where King Arthur was taken when he was mortally wounded. And there are a few more as well in chapters that haven't been published. Because it's fun to reference death in regards to Kristin.

Phil's food is so delicious because he is a good cook! It can't POSSIBLY have a magical purpose at all, right? Techno knows not to eat magic food. To be fair, who expects some random guy to give you magic food? Poison would make far more sense.

Phil has never been on the ferry because he can fly. He had no clue if it would fuck with his disguise. Techno just straight out saying he had wings while Phil had been kinda sorta hiding to make sure nothing slipped gave the poor guy a heart attack. That would have ruined his plan.

Nope, the boat didn't reveal you, Philza. The boat just has a funny sense of humor.

Yeah, Techno is incredibly pessimistic about the odds of his family breaking the deal. Its not really spoilers, I guess, but the royal family is all very split on their chances. King Baethan, Mielle, and Felix think they have a very good chance of winning the argument. Queen Chesil and Techno are much more skeptical. Phil wants to comfort Techno on that, but its not like he can outright say "yeah, no worries mate. I'm gonna keep you. You are going to have SO MANY birthdays :)"

And yeah, that earring is pretty distinctive.

Fae are terrible gossips. That info didn't last 20 minutes before every fae on the island knew. And this is JUICY. Because Mielle got there first and the fae made SO MANY ASSUMPTIONS when she got there. Now, here comes the shit stirrer, chaos bringer, Philza himself with a DIFFERENT CLINGY KID? Oh, this is some juicy gossip. Wtf is that man doing this time???

Kristin knows some of the stuff that's going on. Like, she knew that Philza's adoption scheme had backfired pretty spectacularly. The humans had been petitioning for a meeting with her for like a decade. But gosh, she is not going to see this twist coming. At least it will be funny.

And it will NOT take Techno long to figure out how to push the Philza Talking about Wife button. He's smitten. Has been for centuries.

I was like too excited and I was worried I'd forget about it when the next update comes so I just decided I'd put the little detailed I noticed in here too because I just like NEED you to know that like I've noticed these little treats you've scattered in.

Ok so the first bit I noticed was Tech saying "I'm getting what I wanted so should I really question it?" that's gonna bite him in the ass so fucking viciously. Like yeah bro, you're gonna get that life of freedom in the woods you'll just get a whole new dad along with it and a change in title!

Oh also the smaller things with Phil that like mix in with like fae folklore!! I love them!! I am eating them up at the speed of light like the small things that get dotted in there. "You can call me Phil" instead of "my name is" since bro cant lie, him wording things differently / weird because because he doesn't wanna tell the truth but he also cant lie so he puts in little half truths. The honey stick!! bro loves honey (as most fae do) and then immediately popped in a tiny little deal with Tech.

Oh also the exchange when Tech first saw him by the cart, where like Phil was talking about the deal and stuff and saying that it's all gone to hell and like Tech tried reassure him with the pear bit and like taking what's left and then turning it into something to benefit him better. Tech might as well have just handed over the adoption papers and a pen for Phil unknowingly lmao

Oh and Tech like nearly slipping up a bunch with the names on top of like unknowingly giving the trophy hubby of the queen of fae like gifts and then happily accepting gifts in return! OH and Phils little ominous like responses when Tech mentions his family and then having lots of things to worry about!! Its all gold and I love it all!!

As well as Phil being like 'dont share my totally not magical cookies' while i like to imagine Tech already plotting giving one to Carl; I just have a feeling that Carls gonna be like a hidden big plot point or something, good for him tbh. Oh and like the crows turning up along with phil a bunch!

I also LOVE how naïve Tech is, like "huh this guy looks super familiar, I feel like I've heard about him before, oh only the queens husband really hangs around birch forests? shame I haven't bumped into him in this birch forest you've been hanging out in! That's a super cool crow I saw earlier, what a coincidence it is that these 'special' cookies you made me also have a crow on them! They're special because specifically YOU made them and you don't want me to share them? that's wild, thanks for the gift bro I really appreciate them! damn I'm super tired after you told me to go to sleep, guess I didn't realise how tired I was!" Like Tech when you finally connect the dots you're gonna be so upset with yourself lmao.

I love that it feels like super real too! Like when you already know Phil's a devious old man its so clear but like if you sit down and think about it from Techs perspective, its so clear that he just wouldn't connect those dots! Like bro Phil could've probably told me he was the queens hubby and I would've thought he was making a weird joke so like yeah ofc Tech wouldn't immediately clock that Phil is the queens hubby because why would he? he's just a strange guy who was stranded by the road!

Anyway I'm sorry for writing you like a bonus novel of my thoughts but like I am just gobbling all these little scraps of lore and worldbuilding up! I feel like a lot of readers will enjoy stuff and then never like tell the author like how fucking good that stuff is so I'm making up for all those people who will enjoy things and notice things but never say it! Techno is 13 and incredibly sheltered. He just wants to go out and look at some trees. Maybe some squirrels. Giant birds. The kid is not going to look the gift horse in the mouth, he just wants to SEE things. And yeah, definitely gonna come back to bite. The gift horse might have been a trojan horse. But he's having fun. He can't be bothered with being safe.

He can call him Phil until the time comes that he can call him Dad. Very simple. And yep, Phil does not lie. It is so fun writing a deceitful character who doesn't lie.

Honeystick idea came from my friend @l1m30. I was originally going to have Techno and the guards drink tea, but have Techno not like tea and just pour sooo much sugar in it. And then offer Phil some of his sugar instead of honey. But Limbo talked about eating honey sticks and I thought "😀 That's much better!" And yeah, Techno is agreeing to so many deals without realizing it. Phil is sneaky.

Oh yeah, Techno was just trying to comfort Phil. And he did. He just signed himself up to be PEARed with Phil for all eternity. The pair isn't perfect, but it still Jams well together. :D but yes, that whole part is fun to write. Techno is just thinking literally, Phil is complaining about the difficulties with the broken adoption system.

Yep. To be fair, he was only going to use their nicknames. But he is only supposed to use those WITH his family, not to others. It wouldn't have been catastrophic, but he HAS gotten in trouble for that before so he is a bit more careful.

Gift giving! Like a real family!! 😀 How much of yourself are you willing to give, Techno??

Oh, had Phil not said anything Carl would have ABSOLUTELY gotten a cookie delight. 100%. Carl is spoiled. He deserves to be spoiled. But Techno would have probably shared them with other people without that promise, and Phil gave those to TECHNO. No regifting.

I've tried very hard to make Phil's fae nature obvious for readers, but plausibly deniable for Techno. Like, c'mon, how many people are blonde with blue eyes? It doesn't mean anything. His ears are normal and he doesn't have wings! And so what if he is hanging around an unnatural forest! I am also going through an unnatural forest! And I'm not suspicious! And it was like 2am, I guess it makes sense I would be tired. I mean, Skeppy is over there drooling on Bad. Probably just didn’t notice. Sugar crash or something.

I loved every moment of this. Please do not apologize. I loved loved loved it.

🌯🗡️ anon here! I just woke up to find Sweeter than Honey got posted!! Positively vibrating at this development, my excitement cannot be contained! I’ve already read it like twice and I’m probably just gonna read it again and again throughout the day before rereading TBTF for what must be the 1000th time by now before you bless us with a new chap for that!

I genuinely just love how things are starting off in Sweeter, Tech being genuinely just a kind little skrunkle and excusing how his siblings and parents are kinda dicks to him sometimes purely because he’s been told like all his life (intentionally or not) that he’s the “meh” one is peak writing.

Also Phil!!!! I LOVE how devious he’s been, bro went from “who’s fucking kid is this >:(“ to “who cares, mine now” over the course of like a single evening and I love it. Of course there’s the whole revenge factor and everything else but I just love the thought that Techs vibes were simply so good that he decided he needed to snatch this kid up!

Phil seeing the magic kid he made and has been screening to have for years has a single (yet to be revealed) flaw: Fuck this child, all is lost, I hate this deal and now I don’t get a nice surprise baby for my wife >:(

Phil after spending a single evening with Tech, the ‘meh’ son of the royal family: Sweet child, new baby boy, have my TOTALLY not magical cookies which will DEFINITELY not ultimately lead to you becoming my new little so boy. Skrunkleblade is so underrated and I wish I saw it in more fics also Carl!!! I would kill for Carl, that horse is spoiled as shit and he absolutely deserves it! Oh also! That part where Tech says mentally that he gave his actual bake to Nicki ans Steve?? Wonderful, I ate that shit UP. Techno feeling generally disconnected from his family so he finds family in the staff they assign to him? Delectable, a delicious meal indeed.

Oh and the drama that’s gonna be revealed when Philza finally like rolls up behind the royal family with a very attached and a probably slightly more magical than before Techno is gonna be perfect. Techs gonna be so attached by the end of this journey because Phil showed him like scraps of human kindness (fae kindness?) it’s gonna be absolutely wild.

Kristins gonna have a whole lot of a show when they finally end up there, I doubt Phil’s ever caused the sheer amount of drama he’s about to cause now before. She’ll end up with a new sonboy by the end of it so alls well that and well I guess lmao.

Lol, I'm so glad you liked Sweeter Than Honey. I felt bad about not finishing the new TBTF chapter in time, so I decided to post at least the first chapter. 💚💚💚🥹

Techno is a very normal Thirteen year old. He's a little bit skrunkly, as thirteen year old boys are. He just has the bonus benefit of growing up with two siblings that are very not skrunkly and that is not all that great for self esteem. Like, he's a good kid! A really good kid. Excellent sonboy material. He just gets a little overlooked. Or a lot overlooked.

Philza is a plotting. He saw the good sonboy material and wanted it. But yeah, first he was like "wtf? Where are this child's parents? I'm having a moment over here. Aww, he's sweet...and I have beef with his parents...and I mean, I DID want a child...😀" Philza just has the BEST LUCK.

But he is always plotting, the little chaos stirrer that he is. He has no children to play the straight and narrow for, so he is going to be a problem. He is not lying when he says that he does not do politics because he can't resist making things worse because it is funny.

Yeah, Phil is really upset with what has happened with the Princess. He put a ton of effort into that spell!

Techno is a very 13 year old boy. He sees the rules and sometimes his brain says that he doesn't have to follow them. And it's not like his parents paid attention enough to RIGHTFULLY FREAK OUT that he did that. They don't know he has made that very dumb decision in the past. He would be in SO MUCH TROUBLE if they knew.

Oh, when Phil eventually comes eye to eye with the royal family? :) :) :) That is going to be... so so fun.

Phil has ABSOLUTELY caused this amount of drama before. Not this KIND specifically. But there is a reason the Faerie Realm is surrounded by a fucking massive magic lake. And there is a reason there is now only one faerie court instead of two. And there is a reason that no faerie complains that Phil has zero interest in playing in politics. He is having FUN. And sometimes that fun gets a little out of hand.

"What do you MEAN Atlantis sank? What kind of idiot would cause Atlantis to sink?"

"Well, my Queen, the Faerie in question thought it would be very funny if he could try to sink, and then unsink it. Except he failed at the unsink part."

"What the fuck????Which bozo did that???"

🌯🗡️ anon here! I just finished my 5th reread of the chap and let me tell you it was absolutely delicious. I do love me some dadza and techno interaction and this chap was so FULL of it! God I don't know where to start, dadza being all cunning while leading Tech into the realisation that like he knows about chat before giving him a hug. I love how he's like all calm and like being all devious while doing it but i can just imagine the absolute crab rave going on in his head about getting a hug from his new sonboy! Phil: hugging techno all sneaky while chat is rioting Tech: wraps an arm further around Phil so chat calms down more / subconsciously seeking comfort Phil mentally: !!!! SON!!!! YESS!!!!!! Phil outwards: Ah yes just as I planned Oh and also the talks about royalty they had with each other Techno: "Yea I don't really like the whole vibes of royalty" Phil: slowly sliding away a crown he had made for his new baby Phil: "That's nice m8" (Can you tell i love their dynamic yet lmao) Oh also that scene with Tommy and Techno bickering about braiding the hair was so good! I love that like this is all part of Phil's plan if you get what I mean, let Wil and Tommy continue to be a bit overbearing so that Techno is kinda forced to take refuge with him but you can also see how like there's very clearly gonna be a war eventually about who becomes Techno's favourite in the family! Purely gonna be Wil and Tommy going for each others throats meanwhile Phil has stolen Tech away in the scuffle and is now having some very nice bonding time talking about war strategies or something! Oh also! The carriage!! Techno is not gonna do well in such close proximity to his two goblin brothers for god knows how long I wouldn't blame him if he just starts trying to wreck shit. Like a family road trip with a bit of bonding time between Techno going absolutely feral and just being a complete demon for them the whole trip. Phil and Tommy at like a checkpoint talking to the guards for whatever reason while leaving Wil to watch Tech in the car Guard: "Uhh I'm sorry but is he gonna be ok?" Phil: looks at the carriage and see's Techno absolutely mauling Wil Phil: "Yea he probably did something to deserve it" Tommy: all jealous because Wil got to hang out with Tech or for whatever reason all the royals have to leave Tech unattended in the carriage for a bit Wil: "Dad how do you think Tech's doing in the carriage, you sure he's not gonna escape again" Phil: "M8 he's been watching us from the window this whole time" Techno: 👁️👁️ Tommy: "Why is he watching us instead of trying to escape, that's what he usually does" Phil: locked Tech in the carriage Phil: "He's probably finally settling in :)" or alternatively after a bit of family bonding time Tommy: "Why is he watching us instead of trying to escape, that's what he usually does" Techno: Talking to chat "Istg if these guys get hurt somehow while they're out there while I'm trapped in here I'm gonna kill them" Anyway that's enough of my brainrot for one update there's only so much one person can take, as always I'm sorry if I overstepped and I hope you have a nice day :-)

Like, I wrote them, I know its a lot of words. It's really nice to hear someone enjoyed them enough to reread like that.

I didn't get to write Philza for the first, like, 9 chapters. I'm making up for lost time, now. Needed some Em Duo, STAT!

Oh yeah, Philza is scheming. He's steepling his fingers, petting a cat in his lap as he turns around in his swivel chair. He's making STRATEGIES. He keeps telling his kids to be smart about their new brother, but they aren't listening. And, like, he's not exactly ENCOURAGING Tommy and Wil to continue to be little shits with no boundaries, but he's going to take that advantage while he can.

To be fair to Wil and Tommy, they don't really know how to NOT be clingy. Tommy just had to get used to Philza. And Wilbur's induction to the family was a little more...urgent so there wasn't the awkward dragging him back home. Also, both of them were just Clingy as humans. They might know the definition of Touch Averse, but they don't really get what that means.

I had a lot of fun with Techno making digs at the notion of royalty. It made me cackle, considering the irony of those statements.
