It was a foggy night.

Gyutaro stands in a pool of blood. Having followed a demon slayer out of the district and into the nearby woods. Ending his life as soon as he turned his back.

Nothing out of the usual for Gyutaro. But everything felt off somehow. The air was thicker, the dew on the grass felt damper, and the wind seemed to whisper to him. He could feel each individual speck of moisture hit his skin as the fog traveled through the air.

He stands there, feeling something similar to dread but also somehow comforting at the same time. Unmoving as he stares at the corpse before him, too overwhelmed by the environment to enjoy his meal.

He blinks.

He follows you until his feet no longer touch the bottom of the lake. The only part of him above the water is his head. He watches as you slowly descend into the water, it envelopes your face but you remain keeping eye contact with him.

Gyutaro and Ume are renowned ballet dancers in the industry. Constantly working on their technique and being booked for shows. They take their profession very seriously.

The duo is known for their lean bodies and long legs. Always moving gracefully across the stage. Ume is also well known for her beauty, while her brother is known for his unconventional yet appealing appearance.

Typically his face would be an issue, but all is forgiven because of his unique body shape. His body is like no other, making him an exceptional choice. His body is incredibly slim but he has the upper body strength to perform lifts with other dancers. He's very sought after for this reason.

Gyutaro is incredibly flexible, and even double-jointed in many areas. He can do the splits with ease and is a master at fouettés.

The only people that seem to understand are other dancers. So sometimes he will pursue something with another dancer, but eventually dance consumes their time and they no longer have time for each other.

He will never admit it, but he often wishes he could have a romance like the ones portrayed in his ballet performances. But at this point he's given up on romance and spends most of his free time practicing in the studio with his sister.

Though he would never hurt a pet, it's an instinctual thing.

So you asked for more asks about mantis-taro and while not an ask i just found out something interesting about mantis's and wanted to get your thoughts on it. So apparently preying mantis egg-sacks can frequently be found on christmas trees, so imagine (if the reader actually manages to befriend our resident mantis and get him inside) during the holidays he just finds one on the tree and starts chirping at it, and the reader doesn't realize what he's chirping at until she see's it.

This was such a cute idea, I had to write a little something for it (⑅˘͈ ᵕ ˘͈ )

𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐬 𝐆𝐲𝐮 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐞𝐠𝐠𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞

It was getting so cold outside that Gyutaro had started begging you to let him in. You were hesitant at first because he acts like a wild animal and belongs outside. But when he came to the door whimpering and shivering you gave in.

He was very curious about everything you had in your home, but the Christmas tree intrigued him the most.

When you turned the Christmas tree lights on that night, Gyutaro lost it. Something about the brightly colored lights attracted the mantis. And he leaped straight towards the tree. Knocking it over, ornaments shattering on the ground as he seemed to wrestle with the tree.

"Gyutaro! No!" You shout. But he doesn't listen. He holds the tree down on the ground and starts inspecting it. Sniffing its limbs and testing the taste of the leaves with his mandibles. It seems you can't have nice things when the mantis is around.

Suddenly he stops his erratic behavior, shoves his face into the tree, and starts chirping.

"What is it?" you say as you kneel down beside him to get a look at what has him so curious.

He looks up at you, then back to something on the trunk of the Christmas tree. Parting the leaves you see that there is an egg-sack attached to the tree.

"Oh! Look at that Gyutaro, there are mantis eggs! Is that what you were chirping about?"

He nods and repeats after you, "E-egg. Protect."

It's cute seeing him want to protect these eggs even though they obviously aren't his. It makes you wonder if he has some kind of paternal instincts or would even want children of his own one day.

"Don't worry, we can incubate these eggs and keep them safe in my lab."

He follows you closely as you carefully remove the egg sack and move it to a safe spot in your lab. Incubating them in a clear plastic container so you can watch them.

Gyutaro makes sure to visit the eggs every day, face inches away from the container as he chirps to them. He grows attached to them and helps you care for them until they hatch.

Never in his life has he outwardly approached someone he felt attracted to, but he felt like he had to with you. Your aura was so inviting and warm, he felt safe enough to do so.

Instantly there was an obstacle. Gyutaro didn't know any sign language. But he wasn't going to let that stop him.

At first, he would mostly communicate with you through text. And once you talked enough to the point where he felt like you liked him as much as he liked you, he'd invite you to hang out in person.

Even though you liked Gyutaro, a part of you wanted to decline. You were afraid of what it would be like since he didn't know any sign language. How would you communicate? Would it be awkward? Would it be so bad that he wouldn't like you anymore?

You texted Gyutaro back, telling him your concerns. And all he said was, "Then teach me."

And that's how the two of you got closer. You'd meet Gyutaro at a coffee shop, or at a park if the weather was nice, and teach him sign language.

He had a difficult time picking it up at first, but he was determined. After your sessions together he'd go home and study for hours. He'd even practice signing curse words to his sister when she'd piss him off.

And if anyone even so much as looked at you wrong, he'd tell them off. Sometimes even threatening them, especially if he hears them talking about you, thinking that he can't hear them because he's signing with you. He's extremely protective of you. And he will not hesitate to fight someone who disrespects you.

It's interesting to you how violent he can be towards others. Yet he treats you like a delicate flower, always so sweet and kind towards you.

As soon as he learns how to ask you to be his partner, he asks. And that same night, Gyutaro secretly learns how to sign "I love you," so he can say it to you when the time is right. He practices signing it every night, thinking about that day, hoping that you'll sign it back.

Do you think all of the Gyutaro's would get along? Or would it be a lot of awkward staring?

It would be chaos.

AAO Gyutaro would be so confused, especially when he sees a human version of himself. He'd be kind though and try to talk to him. He would end up becoming the "dad" of the group that keeps all of the Gyutaros in line.

YBF Gyutaro would freak out because he has terrible nightmares about being a demon. It actually haunts him.

Nurse au Gyutaro wouldn't even bat an eye because he is insane and he wouldn't care. Everyone would be scared of him.

Pet au Gyutaro would be curious. He wouldn't understand why the other versions of himself act so boldly and he would think they are his brothers at first.

Mantis Gyutaro would just act like a wild animal. He wouldn't even care that there are other versions of himself, he would just be super aggressive.

Dragon Gyutaro would also be aggressive but he's not completely blinded by animalistic urges like mantis taro is. He'd think that this is some kind of sorcery to trick him.

Imagine this. AAO Gyutaro petting Pet au Gyutaro on the head because he's a good boy. YBF Gyutaro is scared but is comforted by the sweetness of Pet Gyu. But then Mantis Gyu is trying to attack people so Pet Gyu and YBF Gyu hide behind AAO Gyu while he holds out a stick, trying to hit mantis Gyu with it. But then nurse au Gyu is just standing in the corner being creepy. He pulls out a knife and everyone freaks out. Even mantis Gyu is afraid of him and he hides behind AAO Gyu too. AAO Gyu is like freaking out because he was apparently designated as the protector. So now he has to fight the crazy Gyu who has a knife.

𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐧

Gyutaro wouldn't react to your scars how you might expect. He would find them interesting and will often stare at them when they are visible. Even if he learns the reason behind them, he wouldn't feel bad for you like most people would. He would actually understand, especially since he does something similar. If you still do it he wouldn't try to stop you or try to convince you to stop. He would be understanding. Though he would offer to turn you into a demon so you could heal quicker.

𝐌𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐚𝐮

Again, Gyutaro would be understanding of your scars and why you self harm or used to. He would be the last person to judge you for them. Though he would be concerned if you still partake in self harm. He's not very good at expressing himself though so he would have a difficult time expressing his care and concern for you. He would just try to talk to you about it but wouldn't directly tell you to stop. He would try to figure out the root cause of your actions and try to help you that way. But if he sees a new mark on your skin he will have a heart to heart with you. Seeing you hurt, even if it's self inflicted, breaks his heart.

𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐚𝐮

He doesn't care. Even if he knows the reason behind these scars he won't feel any sympathy for you. He might enjoy looking at them and he will think they look pretty on you. He wants to give you more. He wants you to have a permanent reminder of him etched into your body. Your self harm scars (or really any scars for that matter) will inspire him to create more scars on your body.

𝐏𝐞𝐭 𝐚𝐮

Gyutaro won't understand why these scars are on your body and he will assume they are from another human or maybe an animal. When you tell him that they are self harm scars he won't understand. No matter how much you explain it to him he won't be able to grasp the concept. He will feel very sad seeing these scars on you and he will nuzzle against them and even lick them thinking he is making your pain go away. And even if the scars are years old he will insist on wrapping them up in bandages. He just wants to help and hates seeing his precious owner in pain.
