'24.1.26 大さん橋付近、赤レンガ倉庫、馬車道にて

横浜出張最終日、仕事が終わって晩飯の家系ラーメン食べた後に少し歩きました。せっかくの横浜、海も眺めておこうと港の方角へ。

大さん橋は冷たく強い海風が吹きわたっていて、立っていると体がよろめくほどでした。･･こりゃたまらんと赤レンガ倉庫を経由して宿のある馬車道に戻ります。

ダイヤモンド・プリンセス。

ロッド・スチュワートの曲「セイリング」を繰返し流しながら、間に一度、国歌「君が代」を挿れて、次の目的地へとゆっくり進んでいきました。

「船が見えなくなるまで見送りましょう。」の言葉なのか、曲なのか、それとも少しずつ小さくなっていく船のせいか。

自然と涙が浮かんできました。

いつまでも思い出に残る最高の船旅を！

The ship was playing Rod Stewart's song "Sailing" over and over, with the national anthem "Kimigayo" inserted once in between, as it slowly made its way to its next destination.

Let's see her off until we can't see her anymore. or perhaps it was the song, or perhaps it was the gradually shrinking size of the ship.

I naturally started to cry.

I wish you the best boat trip that will remain in your memories forever!

This shot of the Minatomirai waterfront district features Yokohama’s most well-known high-rise towers and hotel: Landmark Tower (left), Queen’s Tower A and B (center), The Yokohama Bay Hotel Tokyu (center-left), and the InterContinental Yokohama Grand hotel (right), which “evokes the image of a white sail against the blue sea.”

I went to work on the sea of the Yokohama Fireworks Festival. Originally built as a lighthouse in 1961 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Port of Yokohama’s opening, the tower was the largest lighthouse in the world until 2008.

After falling under the control of Yokohama city, the tower was refurbished and reopened in 2009 to celebrate Yokohama’s 150th anniversary. The observation deck is currently 106 meters (348 feet) high and offers fantastic views of the port and Mt. Fuji.

My first visit in 1984 impressed me with the large collection of exotic birds freely flying in the aviary located near the top of the lighthouse. Sadly, the aviary was closed in 2005 and converted into a restaurant.
