Context :
Saijo Momosuke (Murakami Nijiro) grew up in a dysfunctional family where he was neglected since childhood when his parents went through divorce. He finds solace in boxing to vent his frustration and loneliness. He trained tirelessly for three years becoming a strong boxer and looks forward to the competition.
But one day, he fought two bullies injuring himself in the head and the doctor advised him to stop boxing or he will die of injury. He feels lost as boxing was the only thing which make him feels happy, strong and alive when everything else in his life is failing. He ask himself, “Why me? Why does it have to be me?”
Kirisawa Shogo (Kimura Takuya), his boxing coach got reminded of his own suffering when his injury ended his boxing career around the same time he lost his wife to illness. He quit teaching as he lost his heart in educating others. He start his own restaurant to start over but it closed down due to Covid-19.
He feels like he can’t be happy and no matter what he do, things always ended badly and so sleepwalk through life becoming a part time pizza delivery just to have enough money to survive. Until his friend forced him to take up a part time boxing coach in a bid to get him back to his feet doing what he loved.
