Reset 开端 1-15 (end)
I love me a good scifi time travel/loop, and it was put together well enough that I watched the whole thing! I will say that the plot, pacing, and motivations were a bit uneven, so temper your expectations (vs the full blown praise I’ve been seeing in other reviews). Random thoughts with SPOILERS:
I was genuinely surprised by the whodunnit revelations each episode and how each loop ended
It felt like an ode to a police state and constant surveillance tech. So propaganda-y.
Lead actress is a cutie pie. Lead actor has really found his niche as a weak-on-the-surface but secretly dependable guy, I find him very appealing to watch in various dramas
Every activation of the cat apostle secret agent cracked me up
The three older actors were amazing (bus driver, lady with red bag, older police detective)
I felt violent urges towards the younger detective character, ugh, whyyyyyy so annoyingggggg
Had been hoping that a police officer would be pulled in, and they could work together alas
The resolution at the end was really unsatisfying to me and the student’s death made no sense. I mean really, let off in the middle lane? (Though I appreciated that they foreshadowed/tied things in with why main girl was let off the bus in the first episode.)
Those police building interrogation scenes were too long and slow. Also I did not know interrogation chairs in China looked like that — totally seems like a modern version of those interrogation torture chairs you see in historical dramas where they’re getting beat up in the courtyard.
All in all, I’d recommend, with use of skip/fast forward! Here’s the whole show with subs on Youtube.
