Albumtober Day 11: Changeability of Strange Dream
(Prompt: An album you associate with Spring)
上海アリス幻樂団 - 夢違科学世紀 ～ Changeability of Strange Dream (2004)
I was going to go with Close to the Edge for today's prompt, but I've already used it, so instead I'm going with one of the music CDs from the Touhou Project. If you don't know what Touhou is, it's a video game series that takes place in a closed-off fantasy world in Japan. The music CDs, although entirely instrumental, tell the story (in the liner notes) of two college students in the outside world who investigate paranormal and otherworldy phenomena. Changeability of Strange Dream is the third entry in the series.
A lot of the Touhou games and CDs have a strong seasonal vibe, with the stories, graphics, and even the music all contributing to the association. This album has less strong of an association, but some of the tracks (particularly the more hopeful-sounding ones) do make me picture Spring. "Evening Star" and "Doll Judgement" are a bit more intimidating-sounding, but they're the themes of characters who initially appeared in the game Perfect Cherry Blossom, so maybe I'm associating the characters with the season.
Touhou is a series that I've been a fan of for quite a while, so it's only natural that it would be represented this Albumtober.

PCB stages were supposed to have titles just like EoSD stages
You know that EoSD stages have titles.
If you extract files from the .dat files of the game, you will find those .std ones. They contain the stage titles as well as what songs are supposed to play during the stage.
These are the .std files from the first 3 stages of EoSD. Notice the “bgm/th06_...” thing. They’re from EoSD.
The interesting part is that if you extract the files from PCB (even the 1.00b version) you will find those .std files that contain some stage titles. But PCB doesn’t have stage titles, right? They have leftovers of stage titles, stage songs, as well as unused content.

It looks like ZUN wanted PCB to have stage titles but abandoned the idea. Also, there are some leftovers from EoSD, but is quite common from one game to another to have some leftovers from the previous game in the sprite sheets.

中式婚禮宴會Chinese Banquet
We have provided wedding photography and bridal hair makeup service for this beautiful and friendly Hong Kong couple to capture their Chinese wedding ceremony and banquet.
In Chinese banquet, you can hear a lot of cheering during the ‘toasts’ – couples and the immediate families would go around the tables to toast to their guests. In tradition, wedding guests and the couples need to ‘down’ the whole glass, as a challenge sometimes. When this happens, the best man and other groomsmen would drink instead of the grooms and brides.
The wedding was held in Imperial China restaurant in Watford. Except photography, we have provided hair and makeup service. We wish the couple a happy married life.
Although it may not be a big celebration, for Chinese, gather together for meals with family members is an important part for weddings. It is because Chinese believe wedding is more than two people coming together but two families coming together. Normally there will be tea ceremony as well for the couples to show respect to their parents and all senior family members. Of course they get a lot of ‘blessings’ too, kind words, red packets and gold jewelry. Although we are in the 21st century, we still keep this culture alive.
A wedding date is not picked easily. It has to match with the Lunar calendar and see if that is good for wedding.
