Dating Kiba Inuzuka (Kiba x Reader)
First Date
Your first date with Kiba was at the Konoha Zoo. You dragged him by the hand, excitedly taking him to the tiger exhibit. He wanted to see the wolves first, but he just couldn't resist your enthusiasm. He didn't want to admit it, but the big cats looked pretty fucking cool. He was also very impressed with your knowledge of zoology as you fervently prattled off the scientific names for every animal you visited that day.
A Lazy Saturday Afternoon
You and Kiba always argue about whether dogs or cats are better, but you find some middle ground by alternating between the dog and cat cafés you frequent. Sometimes you even see Kakashi visiting the Shiba Inu café, he does have a lot more free time since his retirement. You each have a fondness and appreciation for your partner's café of choice.
A Yearly Tradition
Once a year there's a Ninneko show that visits Konoha. You're always interested learning more about ninja cat breeding, so you make sure to clear your schedule weeks in advance. Kiba doesn't have much PTO, but he knows how important this show is to you, so he tells Kōtarō in no uncertain terms that he won't be responding to his pager that day, at all.
Guilty Pleasure Date Night
Although he'll never admit to it, Kiba likes it when you take silly selfies together while visiting your favourite maid café. You always pick the cat ears as your accessory, for both him and yourself. He begrudgingly makes a spectacle of putting them on, but it's impossible for him to say 'no' to you. Maybe it's just the atmosphere? He can't help but smile when he sees how happy you are shooting a "nya~" in his direction.
When you get back home you ask him for "Service with a smile, awoo?" and he eagerly obliges. He can't resist fulfilling all of his princess's desires. 💖

"You don't look alright." Kiba points out, rather obviously. He's wary - he knows better than to trust in appearances, injured or not - but Akamaru doesn't seem to be particularly on edge, and he will always trust in his companion's instincts.
The kid - they seem to be of an age with him, he guesses, though it's not easy to tell - has a peculiar maturity to them, something he's only ever seen in those who have lived a hard life and seen too much for their limited years. Given the way they're dealing with their current situation, this is definitely not someone inexperienced. He needs to be careful.
But he can't just walk away, not when he can do something to help. "Here, let me help..." He takes a few steps closer, carefully, trying to both respect the boundaries of a stranger and maintain a healthy dose of wariness regarding an unknown person. "Two hands are better than one, after all. And I've got some supplies..."
He reaches into the pouch at his waist, keeping his movements slow and easy to follow or predict, just in case this injured teen misunderstands and reacts accordingly. He pulls out one of the medical kits Hinata prepared for him prior to his leaving Konoha, and tosses it down between them. "What happened to you, anyway?"

★ ━━━━━━ The night was his time, Kiba could be himself with most of the Humans asleep. Though his Human form had advantages given most people thought he was an orphan or runaway which didn't bother him.
Prowling the streets, he was tired, and hungry after a few days separated from the other wolves he called his pack, family. His nose picked up the scent of smoke and he recoiled. It wasn't a favorable smell to any wolf.
Rounding a corner, Kiba hid in some shadows, his eyes zeroing on a man under a lamppost. Kiba's defenses were up automatically, and he never moved from his spot, just hoping the man would walk away.

Kiba babysits Himawari and Boruto while Hinata and Naruto are on vacation. Himawari introduces Kiba to K-Pop and he becomes enamored with how energetic and catchy it is. Naruto and Hinata come home to him dancing to Mr. Taxi with the kids.

thinking about introducing kiba to your pet cat after you invite him inside your home for the first time ever since getting together.
he’s all unenthusiastic about it because of the whole dog person thingy that he has going on, of course, but he is still trying to appear interested just to appease you, his girlfriend.
so being the good boyfriend that he is, he crouches in the hallway after he kicks his shoes off and lets the cat sniff at his hand, grumbling something about how you should get a dog instead of this ‘lil’ shithead’ under his breath the whole time as you try to calm down your snickering.
he’s just about to stand back up to his full height again but then he pauses and blinks in surprise as the kitty bumps its little head against his palm, clearly portraying a sign of affection neither of you expected to be there so soon.
his fingers curl upwards before he scratches it behind one ear, maybe even reaching out for the other before he dips them under its chin and tickles it there. it’s the same motion he does with akamaru and with most puppies that his sister hana takes care of at the clinic, but the funniest thing is that he acts like he doesn’t like it at all; the purring to ensue to said petting even makes him scowl.
“i think he likes you.”
“yeah, whatever.”
his eyes roll as he says the words, but you don’t miss the way one corner of his mouth kicks upward with it. he’s always been a sucker when it comes to being liked by everyone and everything.
weeks pass after that and kiba keeps on insisting that he doesn’t like cats, yours included. however, the more he visits your home — sometimes spending the night, other times just hanging out throughout the day; especially the rainy ones — the more he befriends your little pet.
before you know it, your cat is suddenly sprawled on his lap during movie nights, clawing at his sweatpants with pure delight and yet he doesn’t say a word about it. it insists on sleeping on his chest or curling up beside him because of his body heat whenever he spends the night in your bed. it sits on his shoulder, half-wrapped around the back of his neck whenever he’s standing next to the stove in the kitchen, cooking a meal you’ll later complain about having too much spice in it.
the cat follows him wherever he goes, even going as far as to scratch at the door impatienly when he goes to the bathroom to shower or whatever and doesn’t allow it to accompany him inside. and it’s not only that; even the bedroom door needs to be shut closed when things get heated and intimate between you because it’ll otherwise jump on his back or the bed and start meowing while he’s balls deep inside you, folding you in a tight mating press.
he carries it around like a baby and sometimes wraps it inside his hoodie where it’s extra warm even though he swears up and down that it somehow got there all on its own when you muse and give him a look in response. he starts taking silly pictures of it and texts you ‘what da cat doin’, asking you for updates when he isn’t able to visit you for a couple of days.
they become buddies even if he doesn’t want to admit it. it’s always ‘stupid cat’ this and ‘goofy fuckin’ bastard’ that, but sometimes when he thinks you’re not paying attention, he boops its little nose or coos at it or pets it with a fanged smile that melts your heart. animals just love him, it comes naturally.
he still insists on calling it a shithead though.

He's upside down, legs thrown over Akamaru's back where the nindog lays in the grass beside them. He's spent the last ten minutes entirely focused on balancing a stick on the end of his nose, his brows furrowed in deep concentration. The comment from the other shifts that focus, with an immediate and inevitable consequence.
The stick topples and smacks him in the face.
Luckily, Kiba's been hit in the face with worse. As the stick bounces away into the grass, he merely scrunches up his nose and slides his gaze sidelong to where Shikamaru lies - the right way up - next to him.
"Mm, am I weird, though, or are you just boring?" He shoots back, lips curving into a teasing grin. "All you wanna do is lie here looking at clouds. I gotta make my own fun."
