many of my characters have a thing for body modifications and/or tattoos - but it's a slightly different story for all of them

for Rigmor, Fíann and the Corbeaus, they're a sign that they have claimed their bodies again, that these bodies are their own and they are free to decorate them however they please after they have been forbidden to do so and/or express themselves freely. Also, Rigmor treasures tattoos highly as she enjoys doing them

for Hella and Kieran, they're an artistic expression. Although both of them are aware that looks aren't everything, as musicians, they both also rely in part on their image. Also, in a way, Kieran and Rigmor's tattoos being the same before they met strengthens their faith in fate

for Zira, although her clothes seem impractical, they have been tailored specifically for her by her close friends who are dressmakers - as well as an expression of her devotion to them. Friends are her everything

someone hurts you or pisses you off, and you don't do anything. at first. but you hold that feeling of rage in your chest for weeks after the fact, acting nice but silently hating their guts, pretending like all is forgiven until you can ruin their life and hurt them the way they hurt you. it's calculated. but when you've executed your revenge, will you be satisfied?

step back

usually, you're able to bottle up your emotions and ignore the frustrations. but, after weeks of shoving everything down, your body needs a release, and i pity the poor person who managed to piss you off. it's screaming crying, shouting, kicking lockers, whatever you can do to get it out of your system. it's a whole jean grey moment, fire and fury blasting out of you.

none of my characters is the type to try to make anyone jealous. even someone they hate. they don't care enough/can't be arsed, and usually if there could be anyone they might want to rile up, that has already been done long before the idea to do it crops up in the mind of anyone they might be hanging around. and yes, this also applies to luceus and fíann, who would be more willing to go out of their way to fuck with people, as well as jareth and rita.

jareth and rita are old enough to not be willing to play games, and if they consider that, it means the relationship with the other person is headed towards destruction.

this has been on my mind for a while - my characters rarely drink, even when upset (with the exception of needing a drink to process a beloved’s death, if it happens). what they’d be down for pulling would be a low-alcohol radler (one of those beers with flavor), craft beer, and on special occasions when they just want to have a treat, a cocktail with a bit of gin, or just a glass of gin. and that’s that.

oh and they don’t smoke either. they’re just not interested, and they don’t like the taste. rigmor doesn’t even like the smell of cigarettes, let alone weed, girl is a beer enjoyer lol.

jareth and rita enjoy a glass of whiskey, or a bloody mary once in a while as they like tomatoes, hella is a fan of rosé and white wine, lovisa likes a pale ale on a veeeery rare occasion, and fíann likes liquor, especially in cocktails. also very rarely. they’re just always busy doing things.

they all love tea, though, especially kieran, fíann and ríane. and hot chocolate, and coffee. stefan hates sweets however so he might be seen having english breakfast tea pretty often.

also whatever i wrote earlier is now trash. rigmor does not get high at all when upset. instead she eats a lot, plenty of junk food, too. and if you see her with a beer she’s cracking a cold one in the heat with the girls. when she’s upset she’s far more likely to buy herself treats or even clothes and jewelry to feel better, and savash is this way with books and, oddly enough, colorful socks.

thinking of switching up my characters’ homelands.

It might be a cool idea to also make Fíann, Ríane and Savash fellow Rhampeians Wanoians (my bad, Rhampeia is the country, not the entire continent...), basing West Wanoia off Ireland and the eastern side off Spain.

Kieran, Fíann and Ríane and their families come from the central part of a country in West Wanoia, Eilerland.

Savash, as well as her mother, was born in the coastal part of a country in East Wanoia called Rimicatea, or, as it’s most widely know, the Rimicatean Empire. The irony? It is no longer an empire; in all those countries the power is held by representatives chosen by the people - but after countless victorious wars, Rimicatea was allowed to keep its name. Savash’s father is from Rhampeia, and because she would often get confused as a child Savash would claim she came from there, too, prior to realising she could call both countries her homes.

Rigmor, Arvid, Hella, Lovisa and their families come from the northernmost corner of a cold country called Montia.

And the Corbeaus are from Contia.

(This means I’ll have to overhaul their entire stories but since in my head these countries are based off Ireland, Spain, Sweden and Germany respectively, there may not be a need for complete change.)

(Also, approximate pronunciation: Mon-TEE-a {Montia}, Konteea {Contia} [no stressing here], RAM-pee-a {Rhampeia}, Wah-NO-ya {Wanoia}.)

with Rigmor being an artist, it can be easy to feel like she might not be sincere with her compliments - but the truth is, because she likes to believe that art can be both abstract and, well, figurative art, over time she has come to appreciate beauty in many, many forms and shapes and sizes, including that of people.

And then, for how much she talks and for how much better she is with images instead of words, she does not say things unless she truly means them. And she wouldn't tell a lie, even to a stranger, unless it is to save their life or the situation gives her no other choice. And even then, honesty remains her top priority.

come to think about it, I ought to have made Rigmor a half-elf. Her mother could be the human, and her father the elf, turning cold to each other because of the same disagreements that later tear Rigmor and Jareth apart - their lands being at war and hating each other. Also, Rigmor displayed elven-ness early on anyway, by quickly becoming very talented in creating art and showing a kind heart to animals. Montia/Sweden, where she and her family come from, is divided between humans and elves, with a little more than half of its population being human, and she had to move to a smaller city with more elves to stay out of more serious trouble.

I wonder if it would be too late to include that in her about file and whether more threads would happen (probably)

(Also, not all vampires are at war with all humans or elves but this wouldn't change her history with Jareth much as he has had plenty of unpleasant experiences with both humans and elves)

hc;; while all of my characters have trust issues - for example, the Corbeaus of authority figures because of their grandfather and uncle and of doctors because the people who experimented on them were dressed like doctors, Rigmor of women the age of her mother (a bit ridiculous perhaps, but true), Kieran of older people (with tons of exceptions of course) because of his grandfather, Fíann - of young men, especially sons of powerful families, because of Merric, Ríane - of older men, because of her father - they are, at the same time, desperate to find somebody to trust. It has been years since their trust in someone very important to them was destroyed. And although they have put up their guard, they secretly want to have someone that makes them want to let it down.

randomly thought about this but even though Kamael is way better than everyone else at cooking, his siblings, Hella and Rigmor, Arvid, Kieran, Flyn/Fíann and Savash would have very alright cooking abilities also.

Kieran got interested in cooking around the time he was a teenager; unlike Rigmor he liked trying out different things as he watched his mom cook and bake. They both ended up good at cooking however, even though it took Rigmor more time to get into it in uni when she first had to take life in her own hands. They like Italian, Chinese and Japanese food a lot.

Flyn would have to be as resourceful as her character Fíann; she would probably know how to cook also. Some of her favorite/most frequently cooked meals would be either Chinese or Indian.

Savash is a sorceress, and from preparing potions, she'd have picked up stray knowledge of how to cook soup and warm meals, and bam, from there she'd have likely learned a few meals.

Hella isn't extremely good at it; she often doesn't have time. But she's curious, so she definitely makes up for it with enthusiasm. Her favorite meals would also be Chinese and Indian, as well as German.

Same goes for Arvid, except I think he might like Thai better. But like everyone else he is very open to exploring all kinds of food.

I've been blabbing about characters so here's some more headcanons. Sorry. Or not.

The Corbeaus, especially Kamael, Brennan, Luceus and Marion, are on the chubby side - however it only shows more post-Celestial, after they get a sense of semi-normality. Although Luceus and Kamael like to wear formal clothes often, all of the siblings like loose-fitting clothes as well and unless you stare or get to spend more time with them it's harder to notice.

Flyn (like Hella) is athletic, and aside from muscle she also puts on fat/weight. See Corbeaus post-Celestial.

With Arvid the muscles are a bit harder to notice but he’s got them.

Stefan, Benjamin and Lyle do not gain weight as easily, Stefan and Lyle especially.

Rigmor is athletic. It's very difficult for her to gain weight, for which she has had plenty of unwanted comments. That made her avoid eating around other people in order to silence them in the past but she has since stopped caring.

it was not your fault– at first, at least. you can not help being the way you are. and even if you could, would you choose to change? they met you with torches raised and screaming mouths, the only choice you had was to flee. but you will not stay away forever. they whisper your name in fear, and you will make sure you hurt them just as much as they hurt you.

you're very tired, aren't you? thrashing and fighting and trying to survive– it has taken its toll, but that has not stopped you. you'll continue to gnaw and scream and bare teeth until you can free yourself from this mess, even if it means being the last one left. there is rest at the end of this hard battle, i promise you. there is a time when the fight will be over– but fighting is all you know, isn't it?
