It wasn’t like Rosalie was known for holding back. Even when they were teenagers, she spoke her mind. Honestly, maybe more bluntly and firmly than she even did these days. Working with celebrities meant she needed some decorum occasionally. Though, she resented giving anyone the opportunity to walk all over her. Being dressed by her was a privilege... though some people needed to learn that. These days, she tried to keep herself in check, she tried to be mature. She tried to let the past go. God, she’d really tried with Skyler to let it go. She’d thought she had, but the sight of blonde alone was like being smacked with the wave of nostalgia. Every closed wound ripped open slowly, the more they spoke. 

“We were kids.” Rosalie replied softly, trying to give her an out, make an excuse even though she’d never wanted to give her even an inch when she would think about it. How many times had she cried into her pillow staring at their messages, at the pictures on her phone? It was strange, to try and belittle a pain that had felt so endless. Still, she let Skyler have her space to explain, though only while she downed the rest of her wine. 

Her gaze remained lowered, sadness coursing through her as she listened to her, wondering if she was trying to find some way to explain it away. She wasn’t sure she could believe that it was the same for her, not until the words quite literally left the blonde’s lips and then she was shell shocked, blinking rapidly. “What?” She offered an awkward smile. Of course the feeling was mutual. Of course, but Rosalie wasn’t putting that out there, not in case somehow she was wrong. Not if Skyler still didn’t understand herself and... she didn’t... “First heartbreak. Destroys you.” She reached for the wine, insistently pouring another glass as she stared down at it. Did she understand, how mutual it had been, what Rosalie was saying? “This wine is a little pitiful. I could order us something better.”

Arthur pushed away the condensation on the bathroom mirror after wrapping a towel around his waist. A flash of gold caught his eye and for a moment he forgot about the piece of jewelry he now had to wear. The wedding band on his left hand was hard to ignore. He'd been wearing it for almost a week in the new house the agency moved them into as a means of protection. It was almost 5:30 in the morning and he knew based on the pattern he'd learned over the past week, that Rosalie wouldn't be awake for another hour or so. It allowed Arthur the time to go through the previous nights security footage, making sure nothing suspicious happened surrounding the house. He was sitting in the 'security corner' as they called it, when he heard footsteps. He closed the computer as the steps came closer to the kitchen. "Good morning." he greeted as he did every morning. She was still a client regardless of the facade they have in the outside world.
