kuroo can never go in for a quick peck on the cheek with you. he’s tried, he really has. but every time his lips touch your skin he can’t help but crave more.

so to satiate that urge, he kisses your other cheek. but that’s not enough either. so he opts for your forehead, your nose, hell, even your eyelids if you’ll let him. and then ultimately, he melts his lips against yours with a content, enamored sigh knowing that no matter how many times he pecks your cheek, it’ll always end up like this.

“what are you doing?” you mumble, already half asleep. you feel his finger glide along your bare back, tracing invisible words you’ll never get to read.

“nothing.” he sighs, continuing the motions. you can tell it’s the same phrase over and over again, sending you further into your sleepy state as it plays like a lullaby. “just tracing some words.”

“which ones?” your eyes begin to shut as your mind finally pulls the pieces together. each repetitive swoop starting to etch itself into your heart. the once invisible words start to play as a mantra in your head — confirmed once he repeats them out loud.

kuroo had a day. it started when you didn’t kiss him off to work like usual, then he spilled coffee on his trousers during a meeting, and then now, finally leaving the office well after his normal hours.

all he wanted to do was find you and hold you close to forget the horrors. but when he got home, he had never felt more betrayed in his life. his loving wife, his life partner, the love of his life, had left him for the comfort of his best friend.

pain struck his body as he walked into the room, ready to let you know how upset he was, how hurt you made him feel. but you barely looked bothered.

there you were, in your shared bedroom, curled up on the bed and cuddling a kodzuken cat plushie.

coming home to kuroo tetsuro after a bad day who doesn’t say anything as you walk through the door, save for a quiet hush of your name. instead, he wraps his arms around you, feeling his heart ache as you weakly wrap yours around him. each little sniffle you emit has him pulling you closer, eventually opting to sit the both of you down on the couch so he can cradle you in his arms a little better.

you’re his baby, and he hates seeing you so upset even though he knows it’s inevitable. if he could shield you from the horrors of the world, he would in a heartbeat. but he can only do so much to protect you. he tries to soothe you by rubbing his hand along your back, patiently waiting for you to be ready to talk about your day. it doesn’t matter how long it takes, he’ll sit with you until the end of time if it means he gets to see your smile once again.

kuroo loves kissing you but during your make out sessions he loves pulling away for a second. just so he can look at you softly, an easy smile stretching across his face. he’ll always brush his thumb against your swollen lips before trailing it across your cheek all the way down to your neck. his fingers lightly wrap around it, pulling you in for a searing kiss that almost gives you whiplash.

jean is the kind of guy who was never really interested in photography until he started dating you. invests in a nice camera so he can take candids of you all the time, trying to capture the essence of your beauty.

nothing makes his heart flutter more than when you hold your hand up in front of the camera with the biggest smile on your face, saying “no more photos, please!”. but he can’t help himself, especially when the sound of your laughter washes over him, warming him in a way that rivals the sun itself.

suna would be your go to guy when you want company while you make your usual late night snack. tonight’s special was mac and cheese, straight from the box. when you pulled him out of his room during the wee hours of the night, how could he refuse? honestly, suna was used to it. he’d been friends with samu for so long that this was second nature to him.

while you were stirring the noodles and dancing to the one song you guys always played, he thought that this felt a little different from his times with samu. it felt more intimate, more special. he never cared if kita, aran or even atsumu joined him and samu in the kitchen at 3am. but if any of those jokers tried to show up right now, he’d be livid. this is his special time with you and he’d be damned if he had to share it with anyone else.

kuroo can’t help but feel so sleepy after work sometimes, especially when he’s been working late. so he loves nothing more than coming home and resting his lil head on your lap while you read to him. oh and you better play with his hair or else he’ll pout. a lot. (takes it so personally … sheesh.) but he just loves to hear your voice because it soothes him so much.

meanwhile zoro is the type of guy that takes pride in watching your make up run down your cheeks as he continuously pounds into you, wiping away the mascara smudges with his thumb and praising you for being such a pretty crier.
