Some people are so weird like what do you expect to happen when you roll up on some ship art and tell the artist that you don't like their ship?? And especially talking down to them about it like? Okay dipshit fun police, enjoy the block you can fuck off now.
Incredibly rude, childish behavior.

Saw it mentioned, have to wonder >.>
Just? HOW Ecto-Contaminated ARE the Fentons? Maddie and Jack?
We as a Phandom rather rightfully give them flak for their neglectfulness and single minded pursuits... but SHOULD we be?
Or has that ship long since sailed?
Even before the portal, they were working with countless samples. Were EXPOSED to the prototype, alongside Vlad. Not directly. Not full, standing in front of it, exposed.
But?
Isn't radiation still radiation? They were IN the room. Less then about a yard or two away. And on top of that they NEVER stopped researching.
How much Ectoplasm particulates have the breathed in? Absorbed through skin contact? EATEN?
Those weenies? The ones that came alive? Have they eaten those INCREDIBLY TAINTED meats? What about subtly tainted things? Things that got Ectoplasm on them, but didn't meet the threshold for reanimation?
What about cups? It's a viscose substance. Does a dishwasher REALLY clean those cups of every trace?
How... how many YEARS of build up, have accumulated in their systems?
Jack Fenton kool-aid man's his way though WALLS. His wife moves faster and with greater agility then a woman her age should rightfully be ABLE too. They lift weapons, with ease, that normal humans would buckle under.
Their son survived the impossible.
Was that house a petri-dish of ecto-contaminations? Who checked in on them. Who would even NOTICE if the local "crack-pots" were slowly... slipping. Grins getting too wide. Eyes too bright. Minds too strange. Becoming... Obsessive.
Who would notice if they started to lose track of time. Of meals. Of their daughter. Then their son. Lost to the BEAUTY of RESEARCH. Of SCIENCE. Ghosts.
They would shake themselves out of it. Again and again. Where is their daughter? Their kids? Weren't they about to make lunch? Why is it dawn? Why are the kids sleeping on the floor? They would frown and promise themselves they'd do better. They're parents now!
They love their children.
More then ANYTHING. Their kiddos are the best thing to ever happen to them. They love them so, SO much. So why? Why are they having such a hard time remembering? Focusing? Why do they keep getting distracted?
Consider another father. Box Ghost.
Which is more important to him? Lunch Box or Boxes?
What a cruel, unspeakable thing to ask. You'd be kicked out of any haunt you dare voiced it in. The core of his soul and the greatest thing he's ever made, his bestest baby girl. He would tear himself apart, trying to chose.
The father in him would not hesitate, his daughter, every time. But the GHOST in him? Boxes, with out question. Like a glitching, error filled, feedback loop. One but the other, but the one, but the other! Until something gave or it killed him.
Or until the question no longer applies.
Do you think Jazz realized her parents... weren't well? She wouldn't realize WHAT was wrong for over a decade. But? Watching them fight themselves, fight each OTHER, confused and distressed...
Which is more important? Their Kids or Their Research?
Human enough to fight their Obsessions, but Limnal enough it causes severe distress. Their kids, they insist. Their KIDS! They argue! Research, Research, Research. Hisses something they can't control, wrapped around their brains and nerves and SOULS.
A compulsion they can't fight.
And Jazz watches it eat up their family and lives. She doesn't understand. She hates it. She goes to the library and on the computer and all she can find to compare it too, is "mental illnesses". It's tearing her family apart. Making her parents break promise after promise, even when they TRY. Making EVERYBODY cry.
She wants to fix it. When things get broken in their house, they FIX them. She can too. She tries for YEARS.
But are the Fentons broken? Or are they just... no longer quite human. Is the tragedy not that they got "sick" so much that they were left alone with innocent children who were NOT?
A ghost can not help, being what it is. And what is a Limnal? If not a very, VERY Ghostly Human? Box Ghost is an excellent father to Box Lunch. But would he be an equally good father to a human toddler? Would ANY Ghost?
They would TRY. Would love them and read parenting books. May even successful raise them. But it would not have been wise. Nor without great struggle. We can all admit that. There is far more to raising someone then just loving them.
And never mistake it, the Dr's. Fenton love their children. Would burn heaven and earth for them. March the gates of hell and kick open the doors to heaven. Even file their taxes. Make small talk.
But should they have been TRUSTED with children? Should ANY severally Limnal? I argue... not without a mitigating force. A nanny, a caretaker, Grandma. Uncle Peter, who's getting back on his feet, might have spider powers, who's to say. SOMEBODY.
Because let's be real. If Jazz had not been as likely Limnally inhanced as she was? Unusually mature and nimble? That situation was a powder keg. She kept them from dying from injury or starvation. Kept Danny from her parents dangerous research and devices.
If EITHER of them had died?
Well... ask yourself this: What would happen to Box Ghost, if a Box killed his daughter?

20 Q's for Fic Writers
Thanks for tagging me, @agentianlegend !
1. How many works do you have on Ao3?
62! I can't believe I have that many fics posted.
2. What's your total Ao3 word count?
918,405
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Almost exclusively Danny Phantom. I have one Gravity Falls Crossover and one DPxDC crossover as well.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Summoning: When Jack and Maddie Fenton tried to summon the King of All Ghosts, the last thing they expected was the sudden appearance of a very familiar, very human boy wearing spaceship pajamas and with a toothbrush halfway to his mouth.
Double Discovery: After accidentally shooting Phantom with an anti-possession gun, Maddie finds she has a lot to learn about both Danny Phantom and Danny Fenton. Eventual Revelation Story.
Borrower Danny: A teeny tiny Danny starts living in Wayne Manor
4. Fangs or No Fangs: For Phic Phight 2021. Jack and Maddie know that Danny is Phantom. They saw him transform and they knew they should talk about it with him. But…even after two weeks, that conversation feels impossible. And so Jack and Maddie have a plan: a trip to the planetarium to cheer Danny up, to finally see him smile again, and to pave the way for the truth.
5. Below the Greenhouse: For the Phic Phight. Prompt by Avearia: Maddie discovers the depths of Vlad's obsessions when she stumbles upon his secret lab. Despite the shock, part of her almost isn't surprised by the stolen Fenton Tech, the ripoff ghost portal, or the eerie Holo-Maddie—but the clone she finds floating in the pod at the back of the room? That's another matter entirely.
5. Do you respond to comments?
I generally try to! I love hearing what readers have to say and will happily answer questions, as long as I'm not giving out spoilers. XD
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Well, my second long fic, Hope Can Be a Heavy Thing to Hold, ends with the main character dying so....
Seriously though, I do have a sequel to this story planned as my next major project. Maybe we'll all find out things aren't what they seem. 😜
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I love angst with a happy ending so a lot of my fics end happily. I don't think I can pick which one is happiest. This one has a special place in my heart though.
Offspring of my ectoplasm. My child.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I have before but not very often. I normally just delete mean comments without replying.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Nope.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
I have written a two before. I think Borrower Danny is the craziest one.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Luckily I haven't as far as I know.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Kinda? One of my fics, The Danny Program, was based on an au which @thesoulspulse came up with. Later, Soul wrote a longer version of that au which followed a lot of the same stories beats as my fic and I beta'd.
14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
I'm not a huge shipper. Dark Gray (Dan Phantom and Valerie Gray) is something of a guilty pleasure though.
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
My series, Life and Death is all Perspective, has been a bit of a struggle. I get close to thinking it's done and it keeps growing. 😂
16. What are your writing strengths?
I'm very good at writing emotions and dialogue.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Fights scenes are definitely a struggle since I have trouble visualizing them in my head.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I only speak English fluently so I probably wouldn't write dialogue in another language.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
I feel like I've told this story before but the first fic I wrote was a Doctor Who fic for a school assignment in high school. It was for one of those warm-up exercises in English and my teacher loved it. XD
20. Favourite fic you've written?
Tagging @mymadmedleyw @five-rivers @assorted-candy @tathartiel @tachvintlogic and anyone else who wants to participate!

Proper Characterization in Ships
Does anyone else prefer to keep character's sexualities in-character even if it means that it goes against your preferences?
This is something that I do, personally. Like, I will watch the way a character acts & behaves, & take into account their canon preferences when writing about them.
For instance, I prefer het ships with maybe some yaoi ever once in a while. However, if I can't see a way for me to do that & remain true to the person's character, I won't do it.
I'm gonna use Danny Phantom characters to make my point. For instance, Tucker Foley is straight & you can't make me ship him gay or bi because he just doesn't give me that vibe.
However, Dash Baxter on the other hand, I could possibly see as either closet gay or bi just by what we've seen of his character. I personally prefer to portray him as bisexual heteroromantic, but that's just me.
I don't ship Sam with Paulina ever because they hate each other. They might be bi & I'm willing to stretch my imagination that way, but I can't see Sam as a lesbian because of her obvious attraction to male characters.
I could maybe see Paulina as repressed lesbian, but even if both her & Sam were all-out lesbians, I still would never be able to ship them together because that,to me, would just be such a toxic relationship.
Danny, to me, is straight &, I know that I might get a lot of flack from this, but I at least respect Hartman's part in bringing us Danny Phantom enough to take his word into consideration. Like, I don't see Danny as trans as he's shown shirtless twice, once in Eye For An Eye in a newspaper & once in Urban Jungle, & Hartman's declaration only cemented my own personal opinion. Like, sure, go ahead & hc it all you want. It's your right & I'm not about to take that from you, but the fact is that canon Danny is biomale & that is okay.
I also think that Vlad is technically bisexual but with a preference for women & is also heteroromantic. Also, sapiosexual & an Amazon Chaser.  Hell, maybe he's got some sort of buried psychosexual thing for Jack but rejects it!
I also think that all Fenton males are Amazon Chasers by nature.
Jack, I think is mainly straight, but might have a homoromantic crush on Vlad but doesn't realize it. Like, Vlad is the exception to the rule of Jack being straight.
Maddie is heterosexual, but also sapiosexual & morosexual, so Vlad never stood a chance.
Despite my personal preference for het ships, I will still choose to see a character as whatever they present as in canon even if I don't prefer it. So long as there is enough evidence to convince me of your point-of-view, I will consider it. You have to convince me that your ship works or I'm not gonna be invested in that part of the story.
If a character is straight, nothing anyone can do can convince me otherwise. I might be willing to wiggle around with bi, but not something that is the exact opposite of what they are because I feel like it's disrespectful to the source material. Hell, I'll even believe that the character in your ship is an exception to their personal preference rule provided that the characters in question have enough chemistry & you state that it's a case where it's an exception.
Like, Tucker is straight, but you ship Savant Par. Just acknowledge that Tucker is straight, but say that Danny is the exception to the rule & I'll believe you because they have chemistry. I don’t ship in myself, but I'll be willing to believe it.
Or Dash; maybe he's gay, but he makes an exception for Paulina because they mesh well?
You have to make it clear that the character wouldn't normally be with a person of a certain sex, but that the other half of the ship is the exception to that.
I'm not saying that you should stop shipping the characters you wanna ship. Just be cognizant of the fact that if I don't see the same chemistry that you do between them, then I'm not gonna believe that these 2 were 'always in love' & 'destined to be together.' It might even put me off your entire story if I find it cringe enough. Also, be careful with the 'destined to be together' thing, there are only so many ways that you can write that kinda thing correctly & Twilight didn't do it.
I also don't like it when writers ignore canon relationships & the characters feelings for other characters in favor of trying to make it seem like their preferred ship was always it. It's just lazy writing.
Like, I prefer it when writers go about their stories ship in such a way that it acknowledges the canon, but basically says "they were together or had crushes on each other then, but this is now." To me it makes the story more believable.
Like, say you want to pair Danny with Dash. I don't like the pairing, but if you're gonna do it, don't make it seem like Danny was always gay & always liked Dash when it's obvious that he hated Dash in the show & has had things for Paulina, Valerie, & Sam. It's unrealistic as far as Danny's character is concerned.
Instead, make it more complicated. Maybe, Danny's an ally & learns about Dash's struggle with a homophobic father. Maybe, he offers to go on a date with him to be supportive of his preferences & it snowballs from there.
Just make your ships plausible. It has to make sense from a character standpoint otherwise it'll nag at me all day & the story isn't as satisfying as it could be. There's only so far that my suspension of disbelief is willing to stretch.
