autism culture is being unable to figure out if i can tolerate something or if it’s making me have a meltdown because i’ve masked too much and now i’m constantly stressed because when I say I can’t do something everyone thinks i’m exaggerating because i’ve done it before and had a meltdown after it

#my parents would make me do stuff as a kid and I just accepted that a meltdown was just a part of doing literally anything #now i’m starting to realise ‘huh maybe that’s an incredibly unhealthy mindset’#unfortunately I do so many things that stress me the fuck out on a daily basis i’ve started masking my meltdowns #‘hey I think i’m getting better at doing things!’#‘oh nope nevermind i’m being ableist to myself well done me’#no idea how i’m gonna fix that cause guess what stresses me out the most #that’s right! school!#and i’m doing gsces so if I start unmasking and taking necessary time off I will 100% fail them all!#not to mention that i’ve made my parents think i’m capable of more stuff than I actually am cause I was internalising everything so they’ll #just think i’m lying cause I don’t wanna go to school #mmmmm don’t we love to see it /sar #vent tw #tw vent #cw vent #vent cw #autsim #actually autistic #neurodivergent
