Debuting in 2012 as Flowerbank's second idol group and first-ever boy group, they were met with instant success and quickly began to climb the ranks, winning the title of "Rookie of the Year" and "Best Global Group" in 2012. The group would continue to grow and top the charts, even gaining international success that put them in competition with One Direction.
Despite their ever-growing stardom, the group would be met with tragedy when the heart and soul of the group, Lee Chang, would go missing in 2015. Upon his disappearance, the ISSAYAH members refused to come back without him, joining every search party for their missing friend. With no leads and very little evidence, police would close Lee Chang's case after six months of searching. Just a month after Lee's case was closed, ISSAYAH would go on an indefinite hiatus, only promising to return when they found Lee.
Lee Chang is still missing nearly ten years later.

KIM BAEKHOON, 1993. LEADER, VOCALIST. He remains signed to Flowerbank Entertainment as an actor and soloist. Has hopes of ISSAYAH coming back one day and has never given up hope that Lee is still alive.
BAI WU, 1993. VOCALIST, RAPPER. He left Flowerbank Entertainment in 2018 when his contract expired and returned to China, where he is a well-respected artist and model. In a 2022 Instagram post celebrating what would've been the group's ten-year anniversary, Bai referred to Lee in the past tense, leading many to believe he no longer believes he is alive.
PARK HAON, 1995. RAPPER, VOCALIST, PRODUCER. He remains signed to Flowerbank Entertainment as a producer and soloist, still working and producing for the groups under the label. He has not made his opinions on Lee's whereabouts known, but he sends money to Lee's mother in America once a month to take care of her.
SUH JAEHYUN, 1995. VOCALIST, RAPPER. He remains signed to Flowerbank Entertainment as an actor, creative director, and producer, working with their most popular groups, such as DeepDive and VENUS. In 2018, Jaehyun made it publicly known that he does not believe Lee is alive and that the investigation into his disapperence was botched beyond belief. He harbors a lot of resentment towards the police and seemingly the Flowerbank CEOs for this, which he has made known several times during his controversial live streams.
LEE CHANG, 1995. VOCALIST, DANCER. His contract remains active with Flowerbank Entertainment as he has not been legally pronounced dead. Carmen Bae, Co-CEO, has explained that this is so his mother can continue receiving royalties for Lee's music. Lee was last seen officially on CCTV leaving a bar known as "Devil's Lock and Key" in Busan with three friends, one female and two males, at around 2:12 in the morning, June 8th 2015. He has not been seen or heard from since.
MOON IDEUN, 1997. VOCALIST, DANCER, MAKNAE. After ISSAYAH's hiatus was officiated in 2015, Ideun was put into a sibling duo, 2MOON, with his twin sister Rua. Though the duo would be extremely famous in Korea, once it was time for contract renewals, Ideun would not resign from Flowerbank Entertainment and leave the industry to focus on his education. Ideun believes Lee Chang is alive and has disappeared on his own accord, saying: "Lee always talked about how beautiful Hawaii was when he visited as a kid. I like to think he got over all this and lives there now. It's better than the alternative."

so i believe the generations are seperated like this :
1st Gen : 1996 - 2004
2nd Gen : 2005 - 2011
3rd Gen : 2012 - 2017
4th Gen : 2018 - 2023
5th Gen : 2023 - present
a lot of kpop stans ( from what i've seen ) actually say the boyz were the beginning of the 4th generation or one of the first groups and they debuted in december of 2017 so i think that list is mainly accurate. i had to check a few different sources but i hope this helps even in the slightest and my apologies if not!

ISSAYAH : LOVE EMERGENCY !
(LOVE EMERGENCY - The Fourth Full-Album)
A tween magazine-inspired poster of the once-inactive boy group ISSAYAH was posted to the long-inactive ISSAYAH Twitter account at 12 PM KST. The tweet garnered 2 million retweets and 3.7 million likes, making it the most retweeted K-pop-related tweet ever.
ISSAYAH will be making its first comeback in nearly ten years with five members: Baekwoo, Bai, Haon, Jaehyun, and Lee Chang. With the announcement of their long-awaited comeback, their social media presence made a resurgence as well, with Lee Chang finally joining social media and the official ISSAYAH Instagram coming back to life after seven years of inactivity.
The Instagram post gave fans a peek behind the scenes of their comeback preparations, which had everyone in a frenzy and foaming at the mouth for more content. Fans noticed the youngest member, Ideun, was absent from the promotional material and Instagram posts. Despite fans asking for answers about whether he'll be included in the comeback, Flowerbank has yet to respond or even mention Ideun in any capacity.
ISSAYAH is set to return with their fourth full album, "LOVE EMERGENCY," on April 10th. The album will be fully produced by the group and include 14 songs, many of which were pulled from the notorious Flowerbank Valut.

Lee reads the comment before immediately shaking his head.
"You can't marry all of us. Let me tell you why-"
"Oh, here he goes," Jaehyun teases, leaning back on the couch and putting a hand on his forehead. He watches Lee lift one finger and wag it slightly.
"Because if you marry all of us, that means I have to be married to them as well, and I'm not marrying Jaehyun. I'm not marrying Haon either-"
"Woah!" Haon interrupts, looking not only shocked but mildly offended. "You wouldn't marry me? I'd marry you." Haon pouts with a small head tilt. Lee shakes his head rapidly, waving his hand in Haon's direction before looking back at the camera.
"You guys haven't had to see this guy's house, okay? It's a biohazard-"
"Okay! Okay! Okay!" Haon yells over Lee between laughs as the other members laugh at the elder, wrapping his arms around Lee's shoulders to pull him closer to hopefully shut him up. Lee lets it happen with a smile, looking up at Haon then at the camera.
"I wouldn't mind being married to everyone," Bai muses after thinking on it for a minute, looking at the camera as he moves his hands around. "If we all get married to you, will we all live in one house? Or would we all live in an apartment together and you just bounce apartments throughout the week?"
"There's only 5 days a week, though," Baekwoo informs the group, causing them to 'ah' in unison like this is an actual plan. "Where will they go on the weekends?"
After a moment, Jaehyun raises his hand as if he's in a classroom, not a 27-year-old man. Baekwoo nods toward him, giving him the go-ahead to speak.
"On the weekends, we have group sleepovers-"
"Alright, alright, alright, this is getting into, like, Sister Wives territory. We gotta stop," Lee interjects, still in Haon's arms, causing Jaehyun to shut his eyes with a few chuckles that only make Lee burst out laughing. When the youngest starts laughing, the whole room starts laughing as well.

In the early morning hours, authorities received a report about an individual wandering aimlessly outside the Flowerbank building. Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement officials were taken aback to discover that the person in question was actually Lee Chang, a member of a popular boy group who had recently gone missing. This incident highlights the importance of maintaining awareness and diligence in all efforts to locate missing individuals and serves as a reminder of the critical role played by law enforcement in safeguarding our communities.
Lee Chang was a member of the beloved boy group ISSAYAH but went missing without a trace in 2015. Lee was last seen officially on CCTV leaving a bar known as "Devil's Lock and Key" in Busan with three friends, one female, and two males, at around 2:12 in the morning, June 8th, 2015. Upon his disappearance, the ISSAYAH members refused to come back without him, joining every search party for their missing friend. With no leads and very little evidence, police would close Lee Chang's case after six months of searching. Just a month after Lee's case was closed, ISSAYAH would go on an indefinite hiatus, only promising to return when they found Lee.
Despite facing multiple adversities, the promise made earlier appears to have come to fruition. Lee was admitted to the hospital once his identity was verified by the authorities. The doctors found him to be in a healthy condition, except for mild dehydration. When questioned about his whereabouts, Lee replied "I don't know. I just had to leave." He also appeared to be unaware of the duration of his absence, stating that he had a performance the next day that he could not miss.
Lee has recently been discharged from the hospital under the care of Carmen Bae and Lee Iseul, as they are currently working on reuniting him with his mother. Although fans are overjoyed by his recovery, they are maintaining a respectful distance during this challenging period.

I wanna ask Haon because he is a producer! Was he a producer when ISSAYAH was active? What made him start producing songs? And what the best song of ISSAYAH in his opinion?
"I produced at least 75% of our discography alongside Lee and Jaehyun. I originally trained at Angelico with Jaehyun and Lee and over there, part of the training program is producing. It's a major part of it. And I just loved it. Being able to make music is just so...soothing to me. There's nothing like it," Haon explains with a smile on his face, nodding along with his words, causing his long black hair to fall in his face.
"I think my favorite ISSAYAH song would be...Bye Bye Bye or, and don't tell him I said this, Talk to Me. I didn't do Talk to Me; that was all Lee, and I gave him so much hell for it back in the day," Hoan laughs, "then after performing it 20 times, it really grew on me. I never told him that, though...Wish I did." He shrugs, the same fond smile still on his face.

"If I remember correctly, it's just I-SAY-YAH into one word with an extra S. ISSAYAH. Carmen thought it looked dumb with just one S so she added another," Iseul reminisces, a small smile on her lips when she talks about Carmen. "She really loved that group. They were a lot of fun."

technically generations shift based on when the music trends shift so if issayah was still making music aligned with the trends of 2nd gen they would probably be considered a 2nd gen group, even if they "technically" debuted during the start of 3rd gen. that's why some people will classify nct dream as a 4th gen group even though they debuted in 2016, because their music follows the trends that make up 4th gen music more closely than they follow 3rd gen trends
yeah, no, this is why i always categorized venus as third gen because a lot of their earlier stuff is third gen music like they didn't start making fourth gen sounding stuff until....fourth gen jnskjdakda and even then idk they're in their own league music wise imo but, yeah, no, issayah 2nd gen boy group and venus 3rd gen girl group mhm!

So the meaning is kind of like "I say yeah"?? It is a very pretty name regardless, adding the extra s was a good decision I think!
"Yes! Exactly! It was different for the time and also fun to say. Say ISSAYAH three times fast, and you can't stop yourself from smiling. It's still one of our better group names. It's right up there with Sunlite, in my opinion." Iseul pauses before rasing a finger, remembering another detail about the group.
"Their fans were called 'SHOUTYAH' so when they were performing, either Lee or Bai would egg on the group by going: "I say 'ISSAYAH' You say 'SHOUTYAH' and they'd go back and forth with the crowd." Iseul chuckles at the memories, smiling fondly. "They were a once in a life time group. 'Very promising guys."
