body marking / tattoo

when ayaka received her vision she was also granted a marking of it upon her body . the placement was random and therefore placed in the center of her back . it's something that is almost never seen due to its location , but very much existent . i don't know for certain , but in my research i saw that inazuma is based off edo - period japan . in that context and for the timeframe of that era , tattoos would be considered taboo . however , we're shown other characters in inazuma like yoimiya for example who are well - respected despite having tattoos . ( * i know other character like ningguang and xiao have them but i'm keeping this specific to inazuma )

it's just something ayaka doesn't openly disclose . while she finds it to be beautiful she also doesn't wear much attire that can reveal it . it's a rather large piece that spans across her back and starts at her shoulder blades . it's a faded type of blue , almost a pastel , that nearly matches her eyes .

headcanon + strengths and weaknesses

ayaka , despite being regarded as a princess by the people of inazuma , only wants to be treated like a normal girl . there are misinterpretations of her as being something unattainable and admired from far away which essentially makes her feel singled out from everyone else and in turn makes it difficult for her to form relationships with others . for example , her relationship with the traveler is something that is profound to her because the traveler is not bound to the rules and traditions of inazuma . this misconception makes her seen as an image by many rather than as a friend . because of the pressure she feels from the clan she doesn't often speak her mind and internalizes a lot of her emotions . there are just so many expectations of her she feels herself stretched thin ; she is kindhearted to a fault and will always put the well - being of everyone else before her own . while it's not a bad thing to put the needs of the inazuman people first , she does tend to exhaust herself doing so . in her vision lore it states ,

Truth be told, Ayaka was not preternaturally gifted and would spend much time being troubled by her inability to memorize poetry, write elegantly, or brandish her sword.

she puts in every effort to master a skill . i wouldn't say she is a perfectionist , but she is close to one . to add more to it the lore also states ,

Yet she did not waver  — a poem she failed to memorize once would be memorized fifty times, a poorly-written word would be written fifty times over, and a sword technique that failed would be swung fifty times more. "None may deflect a swing that has been practiced a thousand times. " — This was something her mother told her.

she whips herself into shape and is very strict with the own expectations she sets for herself . she is the face of the clan and wants to represent them to the best of her ability through sheer determination . ayaka does have some playfulness to her demeanor she still keeps from her childhood , but it's very rarely shown . ultimately , the image she shows publicly is very proper and regal , but there's another part of her that wants to surface .

HEADCANON : EFFECTS OF FIRE / HEAT

fire is the one element that can greatly be ayaka's undoing . it's a beautiful element that she admires from afar , however , it's a different case when it's up close and personal . in a previous headcanon i wrote how ayaka runs naturally colder . she's not ice cold , but she is cool to the touch and her overall temperature is just generally lower . similarly to people who do ice baths for its holistic purposes , the cold temperature in ayaka's body allows her powers and senses to be a bit more amplified .

so ... the introduction of fire disrupts her equilibrium . if anyone runs hotter due to it and is around her , then it'll definitely make her hotter too . it's not something she necessarily dislikes but is something she has to grow used to . in some ways it tires her out a bit more due to the conscious effort to keep herself cooler and at her best .

ayaka does like fire though despite what it can do to her physically . because of its effects on her she has has to trust someone immensely to really be near it around long periods . by allowing herself to be vulnerable to its effects around someone she trusts / cares for , then she can enjoy the feeling of warmth and such because it's so foreign to her . for example , she has a deep bond with thoma who possesses a fire vision . because of her immense trust and comfort with him she finds it easy to get along with him despite being contrasting elements .

just making icons so i can write , but ugh , i love her dance so much . and one of my favorite things ever is how much ayaka pours her heart and soul into dance overall . one of my favorite headcanons is her style of dance - bugaku  ,  kabuki  ,  and  nihon  buyo . i love incorporating the soft brutality of her fighting style with her dance style . tbh , the most intimate thing ayaka can do for another person is dance for them . it's her in her element and being the most vulnerable ; what she cannot convey in words she shows through her movements and those are the ships i absolutely adore bc of how in depth i get to be . anyways ... enjoy these photos bc her psd works so well :')

ayaka kamisato is a grade 1 jujutsu sorcerer . she hails from tokyo and is the only daughter of the prominent kamisato clan , an age old family of jujutsu sorcerers of great renown . her weapon of choice is a tachi - style sword named mistsplitter . it's an old sword forged by some of the most powerful swordsmiths of japan and imbued with cursed energy dating back to the heian era . she is a very kind and astute student who had chosen to become a jujutsu sorcerer to help with the family due to her older brother's responsibilities both in the jujutsu world and the politics that tie them to the modern day world . in her spare time she enjoys poetry , dance , shougi , and playing the shamisen . despite her small build and pleasant attitude she is a ruthless fighter and an astute learner . like in my headcanon for her outlining her

skills : immense cursed energy , enhanced mental capacities , strength , agility , reflexes , speed , and stamina , hand - to - hand combat and physical combat with weaponry

cursed techniques : kamisato art : kabuki - five rapid strikes made with mistsplitter . the end of her sword is covered in ice and upon contact can freeze the blood of her opponent which incapacitates them and could kill them by stopping the blood flow to their heart

kamisato art : hyouka - blooming ice is summoned and launched at an enemy . it takes great skill to keep them aimed ; if not they can projectile anywhere and potentially hurt those in the vicinity , not just the enemy

kamisato art : soumetsu - this takes up a lot of ayaka's cursed energy and is used in the most dire of situations . it's resemblant of like a snowstorm and when she attacks there is a fine mist that surrounds her and hurts those caught in it .

domain expansion : none . she has not yet mastered it .

about : friendship

i was thinking about how it's difficult for ayaka to make friends . she's so busy trying to help the people of inazuma that she doesn't have much free time for herself . because of that i'd like to headcanon that she is quite awkward in social interactions . it's not that she can't talk to people ; to be honest she can be quite personable and charismatic , but it's more so how she approaches certain situations and people . she looks at things very objectively and approaches meetings and conversations from a direction as if she's giving assistance . often times she doesn't realize it until it's too late and by then she feels like it's something to move past .

due to ayaka's vision her body temperature is naturally cooler . she runs colder than most people . it's not ' ice cold ' but if you happen to hold her hand you can expect quite a shock because it'll send a chill straight through you . it's a benefit for when she's dancing / training / fighting . from a scientific standpoint there are benefits to colder weather ( in this instance , colder body temperature ) . she has improved cognitive function , focus , and more mental clarity . she doesn't do well in hot and humid areas , such as the jungles of sumeru . she starts to get a little agitated , but it's only because she's not conditioned for that type of temperature . she does enjoy warmth though , primarily in colder areas where it's easier for her to regulate her temperature . she also likes warmth with soft physical touch . it's often equated with people she's fond of , such as ayato or thoma .
