hi! ^__^ decided to get back into the swing of writing by participating in slowshiptober! gonna try to do everyday but we'll see! first prompt was scrapbook making, got a little self indulgent with this one, hope you all enjoy!
Cordy drapes himself dramatically over Shake’s lap, who is comfortably sitting in his recliner. Cordy gives him a small and exaggerated pout. “I just realized I have no pictures of you. Or of us.” He whines, kicking his legs against the side of the chair lightly. He nuzzles his head against Shake’s lap.
Shake places his hand in the other's hair and ruffles it around a bit. Shake can’t help but roll his eyes at Cordy’s dramatic act, playfully of course. “Why do ya need pictures anyway? You got the real deal right in front of ya, sweetheart!” There’s a hint- actually a lot of cockiness in his voice.
Cordy turns his head to look up at him, still pouting, just not as dramatic as before. “I wanna make a scrapbook full of nothing but us.” He maneuvers himself so he’s sitting in Shake’s laps.
“I wanna capture all our memories together! Especially all the dumb ones.” Cordy’s excited now to share his vision with Shake. His eyes are practically glowing and his movements become nearly animated.
“And I wanna fill it with pink!” He leans in extra close to Shake, their faces close to touching. “Oh, wouldn't that be so fun?” There’s a big smile on Cordy’s face, but Shake’s expression hasn’t changed. He seems unimpressed. Cordy raises his eyebrows, slightly. “Do you not like it?”
Shake’s eyes widen subtly, and he slowly shakes his head. “Nah, that ain’t it!” Shake considers his words for a moment. “I think I prefer to have my memories with ya right here,” Shake points to his head. Cordy lets out a giggle. “And they ain’t going anywhere, hot stuff.” Shake continues.
Cordy nods, he understands where Shake’s coming from. Shake has never been one to take into what others consider ‘typical’ couple activities.
And Cordy hasn’t been either to be honest, but with Shake he’s been more willing to give more things a try. So while he understands, he can’t help but be disappointed by Shake’s answer.
Shake can’t ignore Cordy’s slight change in demeanor. “But,” He starts with. “If it means that much to you, I’ve got an idea.” Shake sneaks his hand into Cordy’s pocket and snatches his phone. He pulls up the camera and scoots close to Cordy. “Here, here. C’mon!” Shake pesters.
Cordy, knowing he’s convinced Shake, can’t help but laugh as he leans in close to Shake and gives the camera the brightest smile he can. Shake quickly snaps a picture and hands the phone back to Cordy. “Here, how does it look?”
As Cordy looks at the photo, he swears he feels a few tears prick the corner of his eyes. A silly, simple thought crosses his mind. They must look so strange to outsiders, don’t they? But Cordy couldn’t be happier. “It’s perfect.” Is all he can muster up.

finished prompt two for slowshiptober!! which was flower or fruit picking! i went with flowers, it's a little cheesey but i enjoyed writng it nonetheless, and i hope you all enjoy reading it! ^___^
“Ah!” Cordy quickly stops what he's doing and shuffles towards Shake and places his hands over his. “You shouldn’t be pulling them out like that!” He cries out.
Shake just gives Cordy a confused look. “Why not? It gets 'em out right? Besides,” Shake’s confused look quickly turns sinister and he pulls his hands away from Cordy’s and holds them up in front of him. “I’m wearin’ gloves.” He snickers.
“Actually, I’m not sure.” He gives Shake a shrug. “I think it’s just impolite. And these are Fry.lock’s flowers! We gotta treat them with care!” Cordy gives him a little pout.
Cordy rolls his eyes, but he can’t stop the chuckle that escapes him. Shake’s a smartass, but he can’t help but love him for it.
He thinks about Shake’s question for a moment and realizes he has no real answer for it, he wasn’t entirely certain either.
Now it’s Shake’s turn to let out a small laugh. “Fine, fine,” He said. “I’ll be a little more gentle with 'em, hun.”
Cordy gives him a smile and the two of them get back to gently digging Fry.lock’s flowers from his little makeshift garden. He told the two of them that wants to plant them in pots and set them around the house, to add a little life around the place.
Cordy offered his help right away, always happy to help out his dear friend. He invited Shake along too, who of course agreed begrudgingly, but hasn’t complained at all since they've been outside. Cordy knew he was enjoying himself. It felt like a nice couple activity that they could do together.
Even if it wasn’t really romantic at all.
Cordy finished digging up a small bed of flowers and as he was about to start digging up the next bed, his eyes glowed at the sight before him. “Shake, look!” He called out. “They’re Primrose’s! I didn’t know Fry.lock was growing them.”
He carefully pulls a few of the flowers from where they’re planted and holds them up for Shake to see.
Shake’s eyes slowly widen and his mouth falls open. “Whoa…” Is all that manages to come out.
Cordy nods with excitement. “Right! They’re so beautiful,” He pulls one close to his chest. “They’re representations of young love and of feeling you can’t live without your lover.” He doesn’t even notice he’s rambling as he looks over the flower closely.
Shake cocks his head. “Huh, that second part kind of reminds me of us.” He says, as if it’s the most obvious thing in the world, and gets back to digging out more flowers.
Cordy is slightly taken aback by his words. “Yeah, it does, doesn't it…” He trails off.
Well, now it was a little romantic.
