"Dancing isn't a sport," Jeonghan once said, which has made you hate his guts since that day. Everyone knows there isn't a day where Freesia's track athlete and dance team member are planning each other's downfall. Somehow your English teacher manages to silence the both of you when she pairs you up for an assignment, and like Jeonghan, he asks you to text him to remind him to finish it by the end of the week. However, that doesn't go according to plan when you accidentally text him on your stalking account, used to keep tabs on Seokmin, his friend. When you deny words about the account, he's smart enough to connect the dots as he strikes up a deal: he'll keep your secret if he can help you get with his friend.

Raihan x reader - Battle Cafe (SFW)

You should've known when he told you he was taking you out to dinner that it wouldn't be anything normal. Stepping up to the restaurant with a big sign that read BATTLE CAFE, you fold your arms and shake you head.

"I thought we were going out for a relaxing dinner?" You ask, though seeing the intense look he had as he eyed the cafe made you hesitate and blush. You couldn't deny that you loved him for being himself. Quirks and all. "This will be relaxing! We always talk about battling together, don't we?" He beams down at you, flashing those fangs of his. You rub your face, unable to help yourself as you laugh. It was true, you did talk about doing double battles sometimes but never had the chance. Maybe this would be fun after all.

"Okay, okay. But next time I get to pick where we go!" You huff playfully and he immediately grins knowing he had won. He was so excited to get to battle alongside you that he couldn't stand it. Hooking his arm around you, he pulls you along inside. His hand absentmindedly rubbing your arm and making you feel more comfortable.

The rules were explained by the host. You had a battle between each course and the winner would receive a discount on the course. It was very straight forward. You couldn't help but begin to get excited yourself with the ball of energy holding onto you. He was determined to win every match with you.

"You ready?" He nudges his elbow into your side which makes you smile and swat at him. "As ready as I'll ever be, Raihan." You laugh and follow him to the decent-sized stage where the other patrons could watch while they ate. It would be a simple battle where you each use one pokemon per match in a double-battle. No Dynamaxing, nothing fancy. It was kind of refreshing, actually.

As you step up beside him and send out your pokemon alongside his flygon, you can't help but feel your heart pound with excitement getting to work alongside the man you had fallen for. Your pokemon working in sync with one another only served to solidify how meant-to-be you were.

The battle wasn't a tough one since most of the people there were pretty casual, but you were happy about the win regardless. Before you could even turn to him, Raihan had you scooped into a tight hug, praising you and going on about how well you had worked together. His eyes closed in happy arches, he leans in to kiss your temple, unable to help himself.

"We were perfectly in sync! Can you believe that? I knew we would be perfect together!" He was so excited that he didn't even think about how that came across, making you flush red, unable to get rid of the smile plastered on your face. You really were perfect together, weren't you? You lace your fingers in his and drag the man along with you to your table, both still buzzing over the battle. His energy was contagious and you couldn't see how you would be able to sit and eat while you waited for the next match.

Raihan made it easy though as he immediately started going over the battle with you and just how ideal it had been. You hadn't seen him this happy over anything in a while, but you knew that you both were going to be regulars at the cafe from now on. Admiring him going on, you manage to relax. It looks like he had been right about you being able to, though it was all thanks to him and how much joy it brought you seeing him so ecstatic. He makes happy noises as he eats between talking. It was kind of incredible that he didn't choke with how quickly he switched between the conversation and scarfing down food. It was an afterthought though to his admiring you. "Raihan." You say finally with a giggle, your face all red from all of his compliments. You wanted to tell him how amazing he was, but the way he stopped and looked at you with those bright blue eyes made you hesitate. You were sucked up into his cute, curious expression.

"We really are amazing together, aren't we?" You beam brightly and reach across the table to take his hand. You had made the right decision agreeing to come. Raihan smiles and laughs excitedly. "YES!" He pumps his fist.

You just finished your appetizers when your table was called to go back up for your second battle. Both of you stand equally as quickly, eager. You weren't sure what had gotten into you, but you were thrilled. "You ready?" You ask him.

"As ready as I'll ever be, Y/N." He flashes a cheeky smile.
