#<- since i do that. pretty often
I'll say that I have been in some fandom with extremely impressive and dedicated artists but consistently some of my favorite artists are ones who technically make 'unimpressive' art to outright loving posting 'low effort' doodles. I love skilled work thats beautiful, but I also deeply admire a freedom from perfectionism and ambition. Sometimes those are just non-complicated but still clearly skilled works, and sometimes thats loving the wobbly simplicity of crude lines vs. rendered beauty.
One of my favorite artists back when I was big into Hollow Knight was a korean artist who could absolutely make some extremely beautiful stuff, but many of the pieces I remember most and loved the most looked like this
Even here I know I mentally worked harder to make this imitation than they did for the OG. I can't draw fast and loose, and I like work that is clearly faster and looser than I can do. I envy people who can do things imperfect and carefree. Sometimes thats still very obviously skilled work, sometimes its very stupid doodles that were blatantly done in 30 seconds in mspaint. I don't think its say, disrespectful to love the doodles more than the rendered stuff said artist makes- but my love for it comes from a place that a lot of people wouldn't guess.
That is to say, its hard to tell who, why, or when something you make might click with people- and it doesn't take a masterwork for someone to see something in your art as inspiration.

Small but significant character moments that I actually really adore are from both the times we see the boys as tots. There is a reoccurrence that happens in both of them that I find so incredibly interesting.
For the turtle tot short, Splinter leaves the boys with weapons. In the short, Raph is the one who suggests they do “what Lou Jitsu would do” and Leo is the one who takes point when Splinter comes back to reprimand them. Leo, in taking point, is the one to defend them and get Splinter off their tails.
And then, in the flashback regarding the Kuroi Yōroi helmet, Raph is the one who grabs and throws “Skully” as a way to replace their missing ball which breaks it into pieces, but Leo is the one who speaks for the group and rushes into action to fix the teapot.
I love this for multiple reasons, but the biggest are how it shows that Raph has always been inclined toward the bold and fun and making the plans to include his brothers in what he loves and believes they’d love, whereas Leo has always been inclined to be the “Face” of the group and shoulder the attention even if it’s potentially negative all while coming up with on the spot attempts to fix the situation.

Reminder that I have a patreon and that I've just posted a REEEEALLY old Wheatley AU comic for the $15 tier and I post multiple pieces that often don't go public there every month!! 😂

How to make a CC-free game folder for testing purposes
When people report problems with my content I often ask if they have tried the thing in a CC-free game. And often, they haven't.
I assume they might find it troublesome. If you always take backups and move your Downloads folder away and avoid saving, I agree, that is pretty troublesome. Also prone to mistakes – I stopped doing it after the one time I got my multi-PT mod messed up.
So I wrote a quick tutorial for how to do it with a separate folder system instead. The benefit of this setup is that you'll only need to do it once, after that it's very quick to switch folders at any time.
Go to the Documents directory where your game folder is located.
Rename the folder. I use something sensible at the start so I can easily recognize the folder, but it can be anything.
Then in the same directory, make a new folder.
Rename the new folder as The Sims™ 2 Ultimate Collection or whatever it should be, depending on your installation.
Go the the original game folder and copy everything but the Downloads folder.
This way you'll get your startup cheats, neighborhoods, and CEP-Extras carried to the new game folder. I also include Projects and SavedSims myself as these separate folders are handy to have for Body Shop work, too.
Go to the new folder and paste.
Now you may want to create a new Downloads folder here, that you can put that one piece you want to test without other CC in :)
This is the main advantage here. Moving things around and taking backups takes a lot of time compared to just changing the names of two folders.
You can also generate a new game folder by launching the game after renaming the other folders in this directory. It's useful if you want a truly fresh folder.

...Something's kinda hitting me, guys. I think something just clicked.
So we all know that BB!DOTC is the arc I'm not staying faithful to, right? A lot of characters are getting total overhauls? I'd actually been dancing pretty heavily around the pro-colonialism themes in the original text, simply because I don't really feel comfortable handling them (same with certain sexual themes, it's not great for my mental health to force myself to engage with certain elements that are triggering)
So I'd made it so there was Park Cats (Wind Coalition and River Kingdom) who arrived relatively recently, and Tribe Cats (Sky's Clan, Shadow's Clan) who nestle into an unclaimed spot in the forest. All groups roughly equal in power until Thunder's Clan which was existing in defiance.
But Clanmew isn't JUST comprised of Parkmew and Tribemew-- there's a third contributor. Old Townmew, which mixes with Parkmew and forms Middle Townmew, mixing again with Clanmew to create Modern Townmew.
Since I'm now really thinking about the colonialism themes, especially in my re-read where it starts reaching its narrative conclusion in Books 5 and 6... I think I need to add that 3rd cultural group. I need to make them a player. I think I'm doing a serious disservice by only having the Park Cats, Tribe Cats, and then saying all others mostly lived in the town.
I'm gonna do a BB!Brokenstar with Slash. Previously I'd just cut him completely-- but I think I should, instead, walk him back from being "Pure Evil" like he is in-canon and make him into a real character.
One Eye's a god drawn to the festering stink and rot of the First Battle; Slash is a mortal, leading a group like any other in the Forest Territories.
I think I'm also going to significantly bump up the time the Park Cats have been in this territory. Slash and his cats have been fighting them for years, and until the Mountain Cat influx, were basically spread through most of the Forest.

felt the need to draw all of fantasy life’s characters cause i’m insane but luckily for me i couldn’t find ref for that many of them online, forcing me to stop at 31 (insane... colored them all in a day too)
stayed very close to their original design, just some outfits simplification when i felt like it or simply cause the ref was too low quality for me to tell what was even going on there. most changes are skin tones, so people who are related actually look that way and people who lives in the southern towns have a tan. made two charas chubbier for more body types and turned a real blond into a fake one... just cause!
anyway, best game, you should play it!
do not erase the caption, use or rePOST my art (reblog ok)

I am sitting down on the number block carpet I want to hear about him
Bob is an eldritch monster (I've just been calling their species Worldeaters, I don't have any plans to change the name) that eats planets and rocks in general (Stars too but that's a rare snack).
He was laid on Earth sometime during the end of Precambrian Era. And hatched a year BEFORE the Cambrian Era officially started. His parents kind of just left him there (due to their species they can't exactly stay with him, they do visit sometimes though!) with a babysitter so he wont be completely alone growing up.
Bob's just kind of vibing on Earth until he reaches maturity :)

Your post about South Park really does hit the nail right on the head for why the hell this show has a fandom that I've never seen anyone acknowledge, at least not on this fucking webbed site. Instead mosts stance is along the lines of "why are you shipping the racist children" which ignores. That they have INCREDIBLY strong characterization, to the point that even side characters personalities are able to be pinpointed with a lot of accuracy, enough for there to be subsets of fans for those guys even. The show is primarily about putting those fucking circle guys in situations and people who like to see them in situations are like. Man. I could totally come up with some situation for these guys to be in. And they don't even have to be weird and centrist about it like the creators. (Not to say plenty of fans don't still land there. If Cartman is included you really have to decide whether you declaw him and either answer gets dicey unless you get him. And some people really don't and it gets. Bad.) It feels a lot more generous seeing someone actually clock the appeal of the show for what it is rather than stopping at Matt and Treys wild ride of very very mixed messages and leaving it at that so thanks
no like literally i only started watching the show as a background noise type of deal after i finished family guy (in my "watching every adult cartoon" type of beat) and then just got. enthralled.
like i genuinely would not recommend the show to anyone who doesn't have the stomach for gross out humor, frustrating political takes, and even satire that often actually is progressive and even straight up anti-discrimination at times but can be packaged distastefully -- especially since i feel like the show can only be truly enjoyed if you watch the entire 26+ seasons and movies and play the games.
but like matt and trey are unfortunately VERY good writers so i totally understand why the show has a legit, functioning fandom with popular headcanons (shoutout to marjorine) and AUs. like oftentimes the fans are also just Putting The Circle Children Into Situations. or they're playing around with the Situations the Circle Children were already put into in the show, like expanding on tweek and craig's canonical relationship via fanart or exploring kenny's canonical trauma of being repeatedly killed and reincarnated as himself.
but yeah happy to provide my input on this when asked! glad you liked my take

Started watching a "problem with greek myth retellings" video and it began with a blurb montage like "Condemned by the misogynist guys of history, this is the true girlboss feminist story of [A WOMAN]" and like. brb writing one of those about crown prince rudolf. It's ok he's like a misunderstood girlboss to me<3

Skyrim lore & dark brotherhood fans, i have a question
Does Sithis have a summoning day or any kind of a festival held in his honour/name? Im browsing uesp (unofficial elser scrolls pages- a great site btw, much better than fuckin fandom wiki) and i couldn't find anything :(
He's a pretty important god so i thought he'd have at least...something?? I mean, I understand that worshipping sithis is frowned upon in tamriel (bc of what he represents) but surely the dark brotherhood would have their own traditions and festivals, no?
Alternatively, does anyone have any headcanons or ideas regarding this particular topic? Any kind of response is very much appreciated :))

I feel like Lae'zel would be the most understanding and pleasent to deal with if you're having a bpd episode.
She knows not to take things at face value, not to let things cloud her judgement. If you act irrationally she'd focus more on the source cause of it rather than the hurtful words, yelling or even emotional outbursts.
She is efficient, tactical, and surprisingly kind in her own way. She'd know there is a deeper reason on why you're feeling the way you are, on why something seemingly small snapped you off so much.
And even if there wasn't something deeper, even if it was just this one small thing. She'd take you seriously, listen even if she doesn't understand or see your views.
-
On the other hand Gale would be fucking insufferable to deal with during a bpd episode.
