First of all, I would like to point out that I DID NOT REALIZE WE HAD THAT DISCUSSION ON APRIL FOOL'S DAY.
All I remember is being delirious from lack of sleep and you indulging me by listening to my ravings about a Venom AU for dreamling aND THEN MAKING AN ACTUAL MEME FOR IT!!!
While I don't remember much of what we said that morning, and this meme being perfect for Canon AU also, I will focus my efforts on elaborating on this Venom AU no one had asked for but everybody will be getting!

Hob Gadling is by no means a man who lacks options. He had fucked, and he had fucked a lot. He dated, he had even married once. He did all there is to be done, from casual to serious and yet... nothing comes close to this, to this bond he shares, to this otherworldly creature living within him, sustaining him, enveloping him, devouring him.
"Beloved," Hob says, feeling the instantaneous warming of his chest. Dream, (That is his name.) (Oh, what a lovely name it is.) often responds in such a manner to terms of endearment. He enjoys them more than he would ever care to admit. All the more incentive for Hob to use them as frequently as humanly possible. Which is to say, a lot.
The low frequency rumbling inside of his chest cavity lets him know that Dream is very much aware and chooses to remain silent on the matter. He is so sweet, actually the sweetest creature in the entirety of existence. It's hard to remember a time when he had thought otherwise, a time in which he was actually terrified of the creature that had decided to use his body as a free-ride.
Yes? Dream finally speaks, tired of waiting for Hob to verbalize his thoughts. His voice is a deep thunder inside of Hob's mind, closer to a loud thought than an actual audible sound. An intrusive thought he would never wish to get rid of. Hob. Strict, impatient, amused. He feels like Dream cannot decide if he's more irritated or amused by Hob's wandering thoughts. Speak.
Hob huffs out a laughter, shaking his head and opening his fist in an invitation. The empty spaces between his fingers are soon filled with claw-like ink black fingers. Dream's hand, firm and strong.
"I was just thinking," Hob closes his hand, squeezing Dream's hand in his, feeling the tightening of Dream's hand in turn. "how it's our anniversary tonight" he closes his eyes, thinking of a year ago, miserable and lost and terrified, with nothing in this world left, running into an alien that by all means was supposed to devour him long ago.
Expect for the miraculous part of them being so perfectly matched that Dream decided to preserve him instead. Tend his body, strengthen it, keep it safe. The only price being that he also gets to live in it. See humanity, learn of it, understand it. It's what he told him, however Hob suspects, knows really, that it was something far more personal.
Dream had filled spaces Hob didn't even know he had. Voids so small you don't know them but you ache them. And if Hob does even a fraction of what Dream does to him— well then, there's the reason.
Yes. Dream rambles, pleased. Anniversary, like marriage. the last word is purred so quietly it's almost like it's Hob's own thought.
"Hold your horses," Hob laughs again, cheeks warming up, he's smiling wide enough to ache "I expect to get properly proposed to, who do you think I am? I ain't cheap, you know" he feels a hand brushing his hip bone, an intimate, possessive gesture that sets a shiver down his groin.
Yes, of course. Dream's finger trace's down the 'V' lines, claw gentle but ever present. Not cheap. Proposal. Indeed. Dream is amused again, the cheeky creature is making fun of him, and that, is damn hot.
Whatever response Hob was about to give is swallowed down with a yelp when Dream takes him into his hand. Hob breathes out, mind blanking as the decidedly inhuman hand starts working on him.
Conversations about propriety can wait. After all, this is so much more interesting. Whatever else you can say about dating a formless alien who resides inside of your body, there's undeniable benefits to them literally sharing your own pleasure. Makes for a very good partner indeed.

Brief explanation of Venom for those who didn't watch it! >> under the cut.
Generally speaking, I would imagine that Dream's initial reason was to study, understand, experience a different existence than his own. He had no regard for human life (still doesn't, not in the way a human would) he was perfectly fine with riding human bodies and living their lives until they expired.
Expect Dream had found Hob, a perfect match, a human body that accepted every single cell of him with open arms, way before Hob even realized he loved Dream, his body had already accepted him.
This can have over-complicated plot, and it could be a simply fun-little au. It can have a "fish-bowl" rescue of reported Hob breaking into the Lab where Dream was being experimented on, and it could be Hob's homeless era when on top of everything else going wrong with his life, he also gotten jumped by an alien symbiote in an alley.
It can be anything you wish to imagine, but bottom line is— imagine the intimacy, the bond, the tenderness of sharing a body with a creature that envelopes you whole, who loves you whole, who cares and wants you whole. Body and Soul and Mind, literally, figuratively, everything.
A bond so close you feel like a single being, bond so close you feel you would die if separated. Hob didn't even know he needed it. Hob thought his life was complete, even if shitty at times, he didn't feel any lackings, and yet..... when Dream came into his life, he realized it was an empty shell compared to what it is.
And Dream, who had never felt a connection, only felt rejection after rejection, and then in the case of the lab-trab, the experiments and cruelty. Being loved and accepted and wanted so fully he betrays his entire species to be with Hob.

Essentially, Venom is one specimen of a symbiotic life form that finds a host and bonds with it. It's not easy to find a proper host, if the host is not right, the symbiote would slowly devour the body and eventually kill the human. In the comics canon, a human named Eddie and Venom form a bond, eventually fall in love, and share a very intimate relationship. It's a VERY half-assed explanation, but basically, the symbiote literally lives inside of the human host, and it makes for some......fun dynamics. considering it's a literal alien.

It seems like recently it's just hot all the time but it will ocasionally tempt you with a cool day of reprieve BUT don't let your#guard down! because as soon as you start to think 'hey things are getting better! :0' the sun will be like NO actualy. scalding temperature#be upon ye..#Which of COURSE. I would rather have hot weather with little breaks in between than just constant hot weather. 100% definitely.#but it just always makes me sad because I get my hopes up lol.. As of last Friday, I turned 23 and I can’t help thinking about how that makes me older than approximately 75% of the dsmp members when they first joined the server. But most importantly, it makes me older than when Dream escaped prison and that is wild to think about.
Oh and weirdly, 23 is also the number of Quackity and Dream torture scenes I’ve posted. That’s like roughly 28% of Quackity’s visits. Wtf…

my ranking of The Bridge by Billy Joel, just how i'm feeling right now
1) Getting Closer - this one just has such good vibes, i really love it, but there's not much specifics i can point out besides like there's a bunch in the main part of the song i love and definitely like the last 30 seconds are so nice
2) A Matter of Trust - yeah with this one too it's not like a super strong knowing it's one of my favorites, i just have fun with it, and i really like how it starts
3) Code of Silence ft. Cyndi Lauper - this one hits pretty close for me and it always makes me think a lot, i really like that, and yeah i really like this song
4) Temptation - i think this song is funny lol and i also really like how it sounds
5) Modern Woman - i also think this one is funny lol, and i always have fun with it
6) Big Man on Mulberry Street - i really like parts of it but overall it doesn't stick out to me too much, like i feel like i have a vague sense of what it sounds like yknow? cus it doesn't stick too much when i listen to it
7) This is the Time - has a lot of really nice moments, just overall not an absolute favorite

IT. IS. DONE!
6 chapters. 12,552 words. My 5+1 fic of Kim and Harry being silly little guys, inspired by the concept of "mundane" dates.
This past month has been quite a tumultuous one, which seems to have been the case for many people that I know. There were layoffs at my former company which put several people I cared about out of work (I resigned by choice a literal day before they were announced), I got covid for the first time, and I have spent many days and nights planning and stressing over an upcoming international move.
Uploading this fic chapter by chapter over the course of the month provided a lovely reprieve from all of my real life worries. Writing has become an incredible way for me to stay mindfully and thoroughly engaged in an activity that allows me to exercise my creativity in a very different way than in my day job as a designer. It's been so delightful reading comments from readers who came back to give their thoughts after every chapter release, as well as from new readers discovering it for the first time. Knowing that I've brought a little joy into other people's lives has been very rewarding.
Immensely grateful for how welcoming the DE fandom has been toward this new fic writer. 🥺 This is my second fic in the fandom, my third ever in my life—and I hope it isn't my last!

*****Tales of Abyss Spoilers******
So, I started playing Tales of Abyss last week, and while I do NOT like Luke as a character (I find him annoying as a main character, and hope he gets a little more tolerable as the story progresses), I do not believe the group treated him fairly after what happened in Akzeriuth.
Yeah, he's a brat, and him refusing to take ANY responsibility is childish and annoying BUT, it wasn't 100% his fault. Van groomed him. Yes, it was Luke's powers that destroyed the Sephiroth. Yes, he should have told the group his plan with Van beforehand. But, he had no reason to ever doubt Van. The man essentially raised him for 7 years, trained with him, and treated him like a son. Of course Luke would never believe Tear, especially after he was accidentally thrown halfway around the world, due to her assassination attempt (on someone he explicitly trusted).
Luke isn't entirely free from blame, but I think that everyone is a little responsible for Akzeriuth in some way.
Tear should have stayed with everyone until the townspeople were safe. I know she was specifically sent there to look for the 7th Fonstonebut, if it was already in the knights custody, and secured, then she could have looked at it after Akzeriuth was evacuated.
Jade definitely played a part in alienating Luke from the group. I get that Luke was being suuuuper annoying about helping out (the scene with Natalia, where he told her to get away from the miner because he was dirty, had me physically angry), but if Jade is actually 30 like Anise (I think?) says then he needs to act like it. He's the grown-up in this situation, he shouldn't have made fun of Luke so much, he should know better.
I'm still trying to figure Anise out as a character. All she's done since day one is cozy up to Luke because she wants to marry into money. She is also 13, so like 🤷♀️ idk.
Natalia? She does not care about Luke. She cares about the memory of Luke, of how he used to be before he was kidnapped. This becomes incredibly apparent once the group starts traveling with Asch (the Luke She grew up with). The speed at which she drops Luke for Asch is appalling, as soon as they ditch Luke in the Qliphoth she's practically all over him. I get that Luke was being a whiney brat, and that you want to make up the 7 year loss for Asch, but damn girl! Did those 7 years with Luke mean nothing??
As for Guy, he trained with Luke and also kind of raised him; He should have kept a closer eye on Luke when he started to distance himself from the party. While everyone was right to be harsh on Luke for his behavior, Guy should have been there to support him as his best friend. Once Guy left Luke to his own devices, that's when Van won.
Honestly, the best thing about Guy right now is that he at least recognizes that the Luke of 7 years ago and Asch are no longer the same (unlike Natalia).
Don't even get me started on Asch because how in the world did he ever think Luke would listen to him after taking control of his body, and then invading his mind just to neg him on and make fun of him? I'm mean, seriously, he's worse than Jade and Anise. 🙄
And, Ion should have never opened the Sephiroth Gate; if opening it doesn't do anything, then leave it closed.
I just really feel that they all piled onto Luke because he was the easy target. Because it was his powers that ultimately wiped out the town. Even though Van was the one who planned everything.

Yesterday's poll decided that The Adventurer should relax by spending his afternoon shopping ..

He trots down the mossy cobblestone walkway, gazing around in awe as he approaches the central hub of the small city. Tiny shops and stalls and carts are woven through the few clusters of taller buildings, with a modest crowd bustling back and forth between them. Despite much of the land being cleared for structures and pathways, it's still lush with greenery wherever it can be, every blank stone wall or street corner dotted with trailing vines and flowering fruit trees.
After spending a good 25 minutes trying to orient himself at the city map directory, he finally finds his way onto one of the primary shopping streets, eager to spend the afternoon lazily strolling about, trying to ignore his physical aches and just take in all the sights as he hunts for interesting items....
...A few hours (and multiple snack breaks) later, the streets begin to glow with a hazy warmth as lanterns are lit, marking the nearing sunset. Possibly because of the fight yesterday, he's felt shakier, more easily startled than usual, and suddenly realizes an urgent need to be safely inside his room at the inn before nightfall. He wanted to stay out longer, see the lights and the crowds, fascinating scenes of city nightlife he's never been exposed to before.. but, his nerves are impossible to ignore.
Begrudgingly preparing to slink off towards the inn in a sweaty anxious panic, he stops in the doorway, resolving to at LEAST buy himself ONE nice item before he leaves. He doesn't have much money, sure, but it'd be a shame to simply look around all day and not get anything. All travelers need to collect their souvenirs, right? But.. What should he get?

I just can't draw the cat on the shoulders because of the more like ''chibi'' art style. his head is so giant there's#no room for anything on his tiny shoulders that are covered up by his hair anyway lol#If I drew him in my own actual more realistically proportioned style then. maybe#I should do a ''normal'' drawing of him.#maybe like a a character sketch to show his outfit fully or something. But..eh#I finally made the writing shorter again. The past few days have been too long. but I'm working back towards like#3 paragraphs or less. Today is 4 but still.. better than some of the other days. Which those days I did also have to describe#more but still. I do these super super quickly so it's better for it to be shorter if it can be lol#the writing SEEMS longer since I did also include his entire inventory but jhjknk#I just LOVE thinknig about inventories. Part of the pictures I want to post on my main blog at some point if I ever finally#edit all of them is I gathered a few items from around the house and made little fake adventurer inventories#like just groups of things someone might carry around. This was months and months ago it just takes me THAT long to actually#find the time/energy to edit and post photos lol. But for whatever reason some of my favorite Unnecessary Details to fixate on#(and I LOVE fixating on small pointless details) is like.. what someone is carrying aroun with them. What they have in their bag#and why and what it says about them and what it looks like and the story behind it and where they got it and etc.#Of course his is pretty plain because he barely brought anything with him. but still lol.. I'm leaving his backstory up to interpretation#since he's kind of a character where most of the decisions are made by other people. so I'm not sure if he doesn't have much because#he used to be a poor farm boy or something. Or maybe he just was so overexcited to leave he forgot to pack enough. maybe he's just#bad a planning. maybe he's rich actually but his parents didnt want him to waste his time on adventuring so they didnt support him#or buy things for him and he had to scrap it together himself. etc. etc. Whatever the case. He has ENOUGH to be prepared#and to survive generally. but it's all very like. flimsy basic stuff. materials that tear easily. bent metal pot with dents in it. etc. lol#ANYWAY.. new poll adventure.. this one did take a little longer than I wanted but not as long as the last one. Trying to get back on track#I will hopefully have less dr's appointments in april. so.. aaaa

i miss rping literally so much… it’s been so long since i found a group that genuinely sparked joy and even longer since one actually worked out bc it feels like they always fall through 😔 it’s so hard to feel motivated and let myself get invested when nothing ever pans out and it just ends up being wasted energy over and over. like what in the sisyphean bullshit. just want a chill group that has some semblance of a plot and is active but also has a member cap and don’t wanna have to make it myself :/

ok final verdict tiger and bunny 2 is really good and a huge improvement on the og HOWEVER. lunatic's ending was bizzare rushed depressing and went against everything his arc was pointing to. like it felt like some hayes code contrived bullshit
#he did not have to die and thematically should not have died#like his whole arc was changing his view on heroism so why was the ending just his og stance taken to its logical conclusion#also i keep refering to lunatic w fem pronouns in my head lol girlie looks eggy#but yea her ending should have been changing to heroism for the sake of saving ppl rather than punishing them#and not punishing herself#like who thought having her kill herself bc the ghost of her abusive dead dad told her to was a good idea#also she should have transitioned and started going by luna bc thats fucking cute ty kotetsu#tbh i think her arc was planned to be longer but the writers realized they didnt have time for it so. sorry mentally ill abused girlie#ur killing urself#OUTSIDE of that though i liked everything else#could have used an extra episode or two though#suicide mention#i got emotional at the taibani end but my brain was chewing too hard on the lunatic stuff for it to actually hit#they shoulda been a trio#ACTUALLY one more thing kotetsu barely ever used his power he could absolutely keep being a hero without it#and we should have like had an afterwards where he like advocates for useless NEXT rights#or something#once again it feels like this show was made to explore way different things than it does#like its not built for the racism allegory sorry it just doesnt work well#theres an argument for it being disability/ neurodivergence but it really just felt like a race thing#also rip fire emblem lmao she got hit w every kind of discrimination in that universe#sucks shes an oil baron#tiger and bunny spoilers

I just realized I totally forgot to make an intro post lol.
Hi! I’m Vol, 23, he/him. I’m actually quite new to the whump community. I learned what it was a few months ago when a friend was telling me they just learned what whump was. One thing led to another and so now I’m here!
Anyways, I do art and writing and will be posting mostly OC stuff. This is the first time in YEARS that I’m using tumblr for posting my stuff instead of just reblogging stuff so I’m still getting used to it.
If it seems like I’m just kinda dumping all my whump-y creative projects here and then running... that’d be correct LOL. Making personal posts are not my forte but I’m trying.

currently having a queer identity crisis on this accursed holiday
#but actually. i’ve realized that like. 95% or more of my attraction to men has been comphet#i thought it wasn’t because i’ve been more or less identifying as bi since i was 11#so like. i figured if i didn’t like men at all i would’ve figured it out sooner?#it wasn’t until a couple years ago that i resolved to stop dating straight & masculine guys because i feel like i’m performing for them#and my current partner of 2.5 years is amab and socially perceived as a man but he’s bi and sees himself as ‘void of gender’#which is also the way i see him but not the way most people see him#he does get mistaken for a woman a fair ammount though. which brings us both a lot of joy lol#but anyway. my crisis is that i’ve been feeling more and more detached from the bi label because i feel like it implies attraction to men#and i’ve known for a little while now that i’m almost exclusively attracted to femininity and androgyny#and primarily attracted to women in general#like if i weren’t with my partner i would 100% be out there dating women and maybe? identifying as a lesbian#but i feel like i have no claim to that label especially with my current partner who is not a woman and is much more androgynous than fem#idk. do i keep calling myself bi? it feels like i’ve slipped away from it#i’ve been using queer a lot more lately because umbrella terms are the only thing that seem to make sense to me anymore#i know labels can be super complicated and unhelpful in some cases but i also want to know where my place is in the community ya know?#i feel so confused without a solid label and it’s causing me a lot more stress than it should#(also my partner is such a blessing and said he’d be supportive if i ever felt i needed to leave him to be with women)#(like he said ‘i’d be sad for a while but i’d still be your best friend) and i was just 🥺#this may be even longer than my last tag novel lmao i just hate the idea of putting this stuff in the body of the post#anyway if any pals/mutuals read all that and have any insight or advice i’d be curious to hear#reena.txt
