Mom had already left for work by the time I woke up. After eating with the boys yesterday I didn’t have time to ask her how her first day was… I opened the fridge looking to see if she premade breakfast for me. Looks like yesterday was a onetime thing. I sighed before returning to my room, and collapsing on my bed. I grabbed my phone, and opened the new group chat. (Also don’t pay attention to the time at the top...Idk how to change that sorry)
I kicked my blankets in frustration. I guess their excitement from seeing me has already worn off. I guess I can’t blame them when their mom’s all probably made a table full of food. I wonder if I Jungkook would mind if I invited myself over? Seeing as he didn’t respond that’s probably not a good idea. I kicked my blankets one more time before dragging myself out to get dressed.
It seemed even colder outside than yesterday. I wrapped my arms around myself as I hurried to the café. Once I reached the door I pulled the handle. It didn’t budge. I jiggled the handle. On the door there was a sign that said closed. I felt my body fill with disappointment. I starred at the door in spite. Just my luck. I turned away not knowing what to do. It was too early for the bus to arrive. Should I go back home…?
“Y/n,”
I turned to see Changkyun leaning out the door.
“Oh, I thought it was closed,” I muttered. He smiled at me before waving me inside.
“It is,” he confirmed. “But it’s my families shop so come in.”
I followed him inside. Truthfully I haven’t had the time to come here before, so I had no idea he would be here.
“Your family owns this?” I questioned.
“Yep,” he nodded. “Now did you come for food or coffee?”
“Both,” I smiled sheepishly.
He nodded in understanding before leading me to a table. I took a seat as he dashed behind the counter. I watched as his began making drinks.
“Do really know what you’re doing?” I wondered.
“Of course,” he laughed.
It didn’t take him long to return to the table bring coffee and muffins.
“Sorry, these are left over from yesterday…but they’re still good I promise.”
“It’s okay,” I reassured.
We chatted a little as we ate. He talked about school, telling me all about the senior in our English class. I was laughing at a joke he was telling about our professor when there was a knock on the café door. I glanced over to see Jungkook standing outside the door.
“You know him right?” Changkyun asked. I nodded, slightly confused as to why he’s knocking on the door like a madman.
Changkyun got up to let him in. Jungkook hurried inside his eyes meeting mine. He smiled as he plopped down in the chair next to mine. He wasted no time before helping himself to my food.
“Ya,” I said swatting his hands away. “What are you doing here?”
“You invited me,” he said as he stole my coffee away.
“No I didn’t” I said trying to stop him, but he blocked me with his arms.
“Yeah you did,” he said holding up his phone. I rolled my eyes.
“It only counts as an invite if you respond,” I stated. He shrugged in response.
“We should probably head to school soon,” I looked up as Changkyun began clearing the table.
“Oh yeah,” I agreed before standing to help him.
“Don’t worry I got this,” He said before disappearing with our dirty plates.
“You two seem close,” Jungkook muttered. I turn to him in disbelief.
“I met him yesterday,” I shook my head before pulling out my wallet.
“I’ll pay since I was apparently uninvited,” Jungkook joked.
“Don’t worry,” Changkyun said reappearing. “I already paid.”
The two of them seemed to be sizing the other up. I glanced between them not understanding what was wrong with them. Before I could question a girl came running down the stairs.
“Ya Changkyun-ah our rides here,” She yelled to Changkyun heading to the door.
“Noona…” he began but she cut him off.
“Hurry, or we’re leaving you like yesterday” she said before rushing out the door.
“Looks like you better hurry,” Jungkook grinned. Changkyun sighed before grabbing his backpack from behind the counter.
“I’ll see you in class,” he said before running out the door.
Jungkook turned to me with a smile. He threw his arm around my shoulder.
“Let’s go,” he exclaimed.
Jungkook was extra clingy during morning classes. He kept bumping my side with his elbow. My notebook should have been filled with today’s lectures, but instead it was filled with notes that JK, and I kept passing back in forth. Once we were at the lunch table I decided to finally chew him out.
“What don’t you like me,” Jungkook whined.
“I do, but I don’t have time to waste,” I reasoned.
“Oh so you have time for him,” he mumbled.
“Who,” Yugyeom leaned over BamBam to hear my answer.
“No one,” I said pushing him back into his seat.
“Oh, sounds like you’re hiding something,” BamBam pointed his chopsticks at me.
“She’s hiding that she eats breakfast with someone else,” Jungkook exclaimed.
“Cause y’all ditched me,” I said rolling my eyes.
“I didn’t,” Jungkook huffed. I ignored him instead focusing on my lunch.
“But seriously,” Yugyeom continued. “Who is he?”
“That kid Changkyun,” Jungkook answered.
“Kid, you do know he’s older than us” I asked while Jungkook just waved me off.
“How do you know him,” Mingyu asked finally joining the conversation.
“I sit next to him in English,” I answered.
“You sit next to him,” Jungkook exclaimed.
“What do you know about him,” I asked Mingyu ignoring the piercing look Jungkook was sending me.
“Not much, only that he follows his sister and her friends a lot,” he answered.
“His sister,” I asked wanting him to continue.
“We saw her this morning,” Jungkook mentioned.
“Anyway her name is Hyeri. She’s a senior. One of the popular ones too. Everyone knows her.” Mingyu said.
“Yeah, she and her friends are hot,” I rolled my eyes at Yugyeom’s input.
“Ignore him,” Mingyu said. “They’re not popular just because of their looks.”
“They’re also rich,” BamBam said.
“Rich,” I asked. Changkyun seemed like he was from my neighborhood. There aren’t any rich people there…
“Yeah, but they’re manly known for their brains,” Mingyu hissed at the two boys at the end of the table. Yugyeom and BamBam stuck their tongues out at him, causing him to glare back.
“Anyway,” I said bringing their attention back to me. “What are their names?”
“Well Hyeri’s friends are Kyrstal and Suzy.” Mingyu said.
“So he just follows them around,” I asked.
“Yeah what a creep,” We all ignored Jungkook’s comment.
“Well it’s not like he’s the only guy. She has other friends too,” Mingyu said.
“Who,” I wondered.
“You know one of them. RM,” he answered. “There’s also JB, and Illhoon”
“All seniors,” I asked.
“All seniors. All heading to medical school next year.” Mingyu answered.
I didn’t have time to process this information before the bell rang to signal the end of lunch. I wanted to know more, but it would have to wait until later. I parted ways with the boys to head upstairs.
Changkyun was already in his seat by the time I arrived. As soon as I took my seat he began apologizing for leaving to fast this morning.
“It’s just my sister doesn’t like to wait…” he shrugged.
“Don’t worry about it,” I said. “Thanks for letting me in this morning. Here I can still pay you for it.”
“No. No,” he said holding up his hands. “How can I make you pay for leftovers.”
I began to respond, but the professor coughed signaling the start of class.
Today’s lesson was not as overwhelming as yesterday. Before I knew it the hour flew bye. We were starting to pack up our things for the end of class when our Professor stopped us.
“Don’t forget about the final project. It would be better to start now.” He told us.
“Do you want to be my partner for that,” Changkyun asked. I nodded back.
“Don’t pick your partners yet,” The professor interrupted. “I already assigned everyone their partners.”
He then put a projecting with our names on the board with our partners. I squinted for my name. Found it! Next to my name read…RM?
Y/N: I was going to have a more serious picture of RM, but when I saw the pic how could I not?? Imagine the reader thinks of RM as this intimidating guy but that what she looks up to see lol
