GRYLES!!!

Rebuilding the Gryles Timeline expertly crafted here because I’m always afraid of broken links and people going private and losing data.

Not only is there a ton of great evidence that these guys were dating such as Harry leaving Nick’s place in the morning wearing the same clothes as he’d worn the night before, I’ve also got a friend who works in the UK music industry and she did tell me these guys did date. Nick is 100% out as gay so it really does all add up.

Gryles very obviously takes place during Haylor, debunking Harry as the 1989 muse, and if it’s not Harry you do have to wonder... who with green eyes and an obsession with Alice and Wonderland was heavily featured in Taylor’s life and then disappeared before 1989 - a breakup album about someone with green eyes who seems to relate to Alice in Wonderland drops?

You get it.

Anyway here’s Gryles:

This is a little game I like to call "let's talk about Nick/Harry dates and how they line up with Harry leaving and entering the country".

06. February 5th 2012 - Harry and Nick go to a Super Bowl party together.

One Direction in Sweden February 12th - 14th. (Came home by train on the 14th.)

07. February 14, 2012 - VALENTINE'S DAY!

08. February 18, 2012 - Stella McCartney Fashion show with Nick's mom.

09. February 21, 2012 - Brit Awards!

10. February 22, 2012 - They attend a party together. (Nick might have been DJing?)

11. February 23, 2012 - Harry spotted leaving Nick Grimshaw's flat in the same outfit he was wearing the night before.

The morning of February 23rd One Direction flies to the US for their tour and doesn't return to the UK until April 24th, 2012.

This trip is supposedly where Haylor 1.0 happens. Harry supposedly meets Taylor at the KCA’s on March 31 and they fall for one another. Taylor supposedly goes to NYC to be with Harry (even though she spends the whole time with Dianna) during the first week of April. Then they supposedly enter into a long distance relationship that is broken up because Harry was seen out with another girl.

All the while the last thing Harry does before he leaves the UK is spend the night with Nick and then the first thing he does is goes back to him.

Yeah, I’m not buying Haylor 1.0 it seems pretty clear to me that Taylor wanted to pin I Knew You Were Trouble on Harry as a big pop anthem to support her transition to pop. I think it’s even possible they faked Harry being spotted out with that girl or perhaps he and Nick had some kind of agreement. I’m not saying Gryles was always exclusive (they may have been), but regardless I don’t see Red era Taylor being cool enough to share her boyfriend with a man.

12. April 25, 2012 - Nick and Harry out together the morning after he returned.

Harry also calls into Nick's radio show on the 25th and confirms that the first thing he did upon returning on the 24th was meet up with Nick and Matt Fincham for drinks so one can theorize he probably crashed w/ Nick that night.

Harry goes to LA by himself on May 1st and returns to the UK on the 5th.

May 5th, 2012 - Harry out with Annie Mac and Nick. (Thanks to my anon for clueing me into this little gem of information.)

13. May 7th, 2012 - Harry and Nick out with friends

One Direction goes to Sweden from May 10th to May 16th.

14. May 17, 2012 - The Sun reports Harry driving Nick to work.

Also out shopping together

15. May 19, 2012 - Nick posts a picture to his instragram from the Kanye West/Jay Z show at the O2.

Who cares right? So he went to see a show. But then.

Hey guess what happened the very next day? One Direction flew to Boston on May 20th, 2012 to start their summer tour in the U.S. They're gone from the 20th to July 3rd.

16. July 5, 2012 - Nick and Harry attend the launch of Tinie Tempah's shoes line.

There's some downtime and vacation time here where Harry disappears for a week while Louis is France w/ Eleanor, Niall goes to Spain, Liam and Danielle are on vacation, etc and then One Direction goes back to work July 11th recording and doing photo shoots.

17. July 19, 2012 - Harry goes out with Nick and Aimee and tweets this.

18. August 10, 2012 - Harry attends Nick's 28th birthday party at La Bodega Negra.

then Nick accompanies Harry to Liam's party at Funky Buddha

and then they leave together and go see Rita Ora at G.A.Y.

22. August 26, 2012 - The morning after, Nick tweets a shot of his hangover breakfast from Harry's Range Rover (Nick owns a Mercedes).

They spend this entire day together and this is the day the pics of them in the grocery store are taken where Nick buys Harry a banana, etc

and then Harry drops Nick off for his nighttime show and picks him up again to take him to/stay with him while Nick DJs at Wonderland nightclub.

(Although, lbr. Given what we learn from Nick's final nighttime show about how often Harry hung around the studio, he probably never left.)

The lo and behold One Direction flies to Florida the very next day to film their Pepsi commercial. They're gone until September 11th.

on September 6, 2012 Taylor has Sushi with Ed and Harry in LA supposedly signaling the start of Haylor 2.0 as if Harry is not fully boyfriends with Nick.

26. September 12, 2012 - Nick's final nighttime show. (this was a gif of them being cute and playing around but I was too lazy to bring it over, you get it they’re touchy, flirty, and playful):

Nick and Aimee go on vacation together from the 14th to the 18th.

27. September 18, 2012 - This dude says he spotted Harry Styles waiting in arrivals at the airport while waiting for his sister's flight to arrive insinuating perhaps Harry was traveling with Nick and Aimee:

Early November One Direction goes to the US for Ellen, X Factor USA, and The Today Show. After The Today Show Harry flies to LA while the rest of One Direction goes back to London. Harry writes a song with the lead singer of Snow Patrol and rumors start flying about him hooking up with Taylor Swift.

Harry arrives back in London on November 16, 2012.

35. November 16, 2012 - Children in Need benefit concert

November 30th One Direction goes back to the U.S. for one off shows and MSG show. Haylor happens.

Harry returns to London on December 8th via Taylor's private jet and plays the Jingle Ball with the rest of One Direction. Harry and Taylor tour the UK together until December 15th when Taylor leaves for France. Meanwhile Dianna heads out on a mystery 14 hour long flight on December 14th.

36. December 16, 2012 - Roast Dinner!

One Direction returns to the U.S. for the X Factor USA finale. Harry stays in the U.S. and goes on a ski vacation with Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, and Selena Gomez.

He returns to the UK on December 24th.

37. December 25, 2012 - Late night Christmas leftovers. (Yes they’re spending Christmas together, that’s boyfriend behavior!)

Harry and Nick both leave London on the 29th (Nick for Puerto Rico and Harry for NYC) Harry spends New Years with Taylor and Nick spends New Years with Pixie, Aimee, and the rest of the hipster crew. Harry and Taylor then fly to Gorda British Virgin Islands where they are supposed to vacation until the 7th. Taylor leaves on the 4th and Harry goes to Necker Island alone. Tabloids say Harry and Taylor have broken up.

And that’s it for Haylor!

Harry arrives back in the UK on January 8th

38. January 8, 2013 - Sushi lunch date! (tweet confirming nick was also there.)

The party was for people on the British GQ best dressed list (Nick was on it. Harry was not.)

Jessie J puts a picture of the table cards from her table on instagram. Harry doesn't have one which, you know. I'll just be here imagining him as Nick's + 1.

One Direction fly to Ghana on the 12th or 13th and return on the 15th. On the 16th Harry calls into Grimmy’s show to talk about how Fincham DOES NOT LOOK LIKE A MEMBER OF ONE DIRECTION. Finchy asks Harry when he’s back and Harry says “in a couple of days”. (Small side note here that I don’t think Finchy and Harry are at the level of friends where they keep track of one another’s schedules so the only way Finchy could have known that Harry was heading back out of town to Japan that very day is if Nick told him.)

One Direction in Japan from January 16th to the 20th.

I'm not going to count this as a time they were together because I have no hard evidence, but the night of January 20th Harry was spotted in a grocery store buying wine and Annie Mac mentions on her show that Nick ditched coming over for dinner that evening to have a friend round to his house instead. We assume it was Harry, but w/o actual proof I don't want to say it concretely.

40. January 21, 2013 - Baking for Radio 1! (Tweet confirming the friend was Harry.)

Nick tells this story the morning of the 22nd about how he forgot he had to bake, so he got up from bed, went to the store for supplies, and forgot eggs. So, he texted his friend who was coming over to bring eggs and then Nick baked while his friend yelled at him to add more butter.

41. January 22, 2013 - Watching Great British Bake Off

Do what you will with this one. Obviously there is not definite way to tell if this is Harry or not, but given the evidence of the amount of time they spend together that has been laid forth thus far, I feel comfortable saying those are indeed Harry's legs.

42. January 31, 2013 - Out for Harry's birthday at La Bodega Negra (the same place they celebrated Nick's birthday.)

Nick also went to Groucho Club afterward with Harry and mentioned on his show this morning that he hadn't slept at all. (He was still wearing the same outfit.)

43. February 1, 2013 - Aimee tweets about being in the car with Nick en route to play Laser Quest. (Can't imagine who they might be playing with.)

Late Stage Swiftgron Part 2 (things get loud with babe):

April 18, 2018 - Dianna posts to Instagram about “commitment issues”:

April 20, 2018 - Babe (a song that Taylor wrote in the Red era) about a lover with shall we say “commitment issues”.

Later when the Babe music video is released people (even non Gaylors) notice that it is nearly a shot for shot remake of the I’m Not The Only One music video that Dianna starred in back in 2014.

What’s more psychotic is that the song Babe itself is only three minutes and 35 seconds long:

But the music video has had a full minute and 4 seconds to it to make it the exact same length as the I’m Not The Only One music video. I do think that this is pretty hard evidence that Dianna did step out on Taylor at some point back in 2012. I do not think, however, that it was the chronic issue that the fandom seems to think it was. This is the only song that appears to be about Dianna that accuses her of cheating. The breakup songs on 1989 do not insinuate that the relationship ended due to cheating. In fact, in Style Taylor says “I’ve been there too a few times” when it comes to being with other people.

I actually theorize that the track was not released on Red because Taylor wrote it while upset and hurt, and then they reconciled and worked it out. I think Taylor didn’t release it at the time because she forgave Dianna for the indiscretion and they moved on from it as a couple. I think in her heart of hearts at the time Taylor did not want to put Dianna “on blast” that way.

I think down the road in 2018 they’re obviously long broken up, and have long moved on from the slights of old and Taylor let Dianna know she was going to release the song. Dianna’s “commitment issues” post makes it seem as if it’s a bit of an inside joke between them and Dianna is poking fun at herself and the old and forgiven incident. At least that’s how the situation reads to me.

Another theory I’ve been mulling over is the possibility that Dianna and Taylor hooked up some time in 2018 prompting Taylor to paint herself as the other woman (as Dianna would be cheating on Winston making Taylor the other woman) in the mv. There’s no hard evidence for it but it’s possible...

June 6, 2018 - Dianna posts a now deleted selfie and rant about how amazing KIlling Eve is (this post was deleted late summer/early fall 2020 for no apparent reason):

It’s probably a coincidence but her shirt reads, “SANS SOLEIL” which means, “without sun” in French. Karlie is known as “sunshine” in the Gaylor Swift Cinematic Universe.

The End (until it’s not)

And with that we have the end of the current Swiftgron Timeline!

The late stage stuff is a bit more for fun and just to enjoy the coincidences surrounding the girls. I don’t read into it too much though some of it seems to suggest that they’re still in touch.

My final conclusions are:

1. The breakup songs on Red are not about Dianna! She was with Lea until early 2012 and Taylor was writing about a muse that came before that- in my opinion it’s Jake Gyllenhaal but if you want it to be a woman it could have been Liz Huett. There’s no universe where Taylor is writing The Last Time and Come Back… Be Here at the same time about the same person.

2. Swiftgron was not as dramatic or toxic as the fandom originally thought! They seem to break up once in late summer of 2012 with a reconciliation in October 2012 due to Conor and possibly having to go long distance when Dianna goes to film the Family in France. And then once in April 2013 due to being outed. They appear to attempt a reconciliation in fall 2013 with pining remaining a few months after that.

3. Swiftgron appears to be in touch and friendly! Dianna showing up at SNL “in Swift’s inner circle” and teasing previews of Taylor’s music and occasional references to her on social media, along with having shared interests points to the idea that they’re at the very least cordial if not friendly!

This blog will remain open and be updated with new connections if they appear.

Late Stage Swiftgron Part 1

Update from November 2021 - I really don’t believe much of this is meaningful at all. I don’t think they’re sitting around referencing one another on social media or anything but some of Dianna’s interactions with Karlie are interesting Dianna shows up explicitly in Taylor’s life a couple more times so I’m leaving these sections here.;

From here on out everything but the 2014 AMAs and Dianna’s somewhat shocking appearance at Taylor’s 2019 SNL performance are just odd social media shenanigans (or subtweets) between the two, and Taylor appearing to release at least one more song about Dianna (Babe in 2018) (and let’s be honest you can make a strong argument for The 1 being about Dianna as well other post 1989 songs.)

Some of this might be complete crack or coincidence but as you all know I want this to be the most thorough Swiftgron document possible.

If anything it proves they both certainly still have similar interests and they really do seem to be in touch.

There are some interactions claimed by others to be Swiftgron related that I’m not going to include because they’re just a bit too reachy for me (though I completely support the theorizing!) but in general, if I personally can see the hint of a Swiftgron connection, I’m going to include it here. Draw your own conclusions and take everything, particularly the alleged subtweets/social media shenanigans, with a grain of salt.

And yes there’s tons of Kaylor and other Gaylor/Gaygron content that will be left out of this segment because this masterpost is focused on Swiftgron. Someday it would be cool to make a giant masterpost/timeline that documents all of it, but for now it’s just going to be Swiftgron stuff. August 26, 2014 - Dianna tweets, and then deletes “Withdrawals, clearly…we had fun.”

There’s no screen shot of this tweet but some retweets/responses of it remain:

If Dianna is indeed referencing the song Clean (in which their relationship is compared to an addiction hence, “withdrawals” from it) then Taylor would have had to give her advanced knowledge of the song since 1989 did not come out until October 2014.

Taylor did claim she ran 1989 by the muse that inspired it and they were both in LA in late August 2014. Maybe this is when.

November 1, 2014 - Taylor posts about Clean

November 19, 2014 - The 2014 AMAs Kaylorgron Explosion Extravaganza:

Taylor, Karlie, and Dianna are at the event. Taylor and Karlie are clearly on a date and Dianna is there to present Sam Smith’s performance of I’m not the only one. Dianna seems a bit out of her element/gloomy when interviewed on the red carpet and Taylor flexes Karlie hard, dancing with her throughout the night and even sitting on her lap during an interview.

December 28, 2014 - The writer for the tv show The Originals, Carina Mackenzie, tweeted that 1989 was about Dianna:

It’s of course notable that someone in the industry is “confirming” Swiftgron on main (particularly before gaylor went mainstream with Kaylor being so obvious in 2015/2016) however what’s even more interesting and notable about this tweet is that an actor named Michael Trevino was on the show The Originals and he dated Jenna Ushkowitz from 2011-2014.

Not only that but Michael was at Dianna’s 26th birthday when Taylor was in attendance as well.

It’s possible that Michael witnessed Swiftgron in real life and spilled a bit to the writer of the TV show he was on.

January 5, 2015 - Taylor likes a Swiftgron related post on Tumblr of Dianna saying she’d go on the road with Taylor and carry her bags at the Giffoni Film Festival in 2012:

February 9, 2015 - Style is released as a single

February 13, 2015 - The Kaylor “Best Friends” on a road trip Vogue Spread comes out. You’re probably familiar with it but if you aren’t google it. It’s incredibly romantic and pda filled.

The Style music video is released on this day as well.

We don’t have to go through the whole video but one egg I just have to note is the cave pictured in the MV is in Morocco the same country Dianna seemed to flee to after Swiftgron was outed:

February 14, 2015 - Dianna tweets 143 remember those days (for some reason it has not been deleted) seemingly in response to the Kaylor vogue shoot:

143 is a code that means “I love you” that originated from Mister Rogers. Both Taylor and Dianna have publicly shown that they are fans of his. Taylor has even made certain songs 3 minutes and 41 seconds long seemingly referring to this number and wore a Mister Rogers pin on a jacket for a photoshoot once.

Here’s a bit more in depth analysis on the significance of the 143 post.

This tweet is how we know that it is 100% in Dianna’s character to occasionally subtweet Taylor and why a lot of this social media analysis has been done.

February 16, 2015 - Just two days later Dianna attends a fashion show in which Karlie walks and is noted to “have kept a smirk on her face” during. Dianna doesn’t clap at the end of the show and looks miserable in photos of the event:

February 17, 2015 - Taylor releases Wonderland

I’m going to pause here and discuss the song Wonderland for a brief moment because it is some of the most incredibly airtight evidence for Swiftgron available.

Dianna’s favorite book of all time is Alice in Wonderland. She brought it up in interviews all the time, tweeted about it, auctioned off a signed copy of it for charity, her private Tumblr and instagram account are called whosirmesir which is a reference to it, her private Tumblr is filled with reblogs about Alice, and her public Tumblr was called fell down the rabbit hole.

So the fact that Taylor writes an entire song describing a relationship through the lens of and packing full of references to Alice in Wonderland is incredibly interesting.

Let’s take a look at some of these lyrics:

Flashing lights and we, took a wrong turn and we Fell down the rabbit hole (literally Dianna’s tumblr name and url)

Didn't you flash your green eyes at me (Dianna is famous for her beautiful almost hypnotic green eyes and yes they are green)

Haven't you heard what becomes of curious minds (queer coded)

Too in love to think straight (queer coded)

But there were strangers watching And whispers turned to talking And talking turned to screams (seems to reference when they were outed) You searched the world for something else (Dianna very publicly went travelling around the world right after April 2013 when they seem to break up)

Taylor literally put Dianna’s Tumblr URL in the song. Frankly I’m kind of shocked she released this song at all it is so obviously and clearly about Dianna. Truly a Swiftgron anthem!

Back to the timeline...

March 8, 2015 - Taylor posts Flamingos for her dad’s birthday:

The caption was “Happy Birthday, Dad. Thanks for all the unconditional love, sarcastic comments, and interesting Christmas presents.”

May 1, 2015 - Dianna posts a flamingo for her birthday (post is now deleted):

The caption was “This is 29. Spoiled rotten. Funny enough, at work they were painting the hallways white and the roses (hallway doors) red, then I actually went to Wonderland (@AliceUnderLdn) and came home to a surprise flamingo. Here we go. Another year around the sun…feeling lucky and loved and loved and lucky.”

Taylor also gave Emily, another rumored ex, a flamingo bandana for her birthday. i also think it’s odd that Dianna mentions Wonderland specifically in the post.

January 15, 2016 - Dianna’s engagement to Winston is announced and Kaylors notice Taylor is liking sad posts on Tumblr including several posts related to Clean:

November 7, 2016 - Lorde’s birthday party where Kaylor is together in public for the last time for 20 months.

January 5, 2017 - Claire (who is still very close with Taylor) comments on one of Dianna’s Instagram posts):

March 2, 2017 - Dianna posts her James Dean inStyle UK photo to Instagram:

This is actually the second time she has posted this as a throwback photo. She also posted it on February 4, 2016 with simply the caption “TBT” and did not include the “rebel without a clue” bit which is a reference to James Dean (Rebel Without a Cause). She’s never posted the same TBT photo twice before or after this (as of the writing of this post in October 2020).

It I may be permitted to go real far out on a limb here it’s almost as if she wanted people to connect that photo of her in the UK InStyle magazine to James Dean. James Dean is of course the way Taylor describes her lover in the song Style.

At any rate it’s very odd that it’s the only photo she’s posted twice whether it’s related to Taylor or not.

April 25, 2017 - Fans notice Dianna is having her script tattoo removed:

This is significant because a part of the tattoo was dedicated to Alice in Wonderland - it said “We’re all mad here”

Tattoo removal is a years long process:

So it’s possible she started getting it removed around the time that Wonderland came out.

It’s also possible part of the tattoo was dedicated to Lea (the part that said “here I am”) so this whole removal situation is very interesting.

In 2019 she was still getting it removed and commented this at a Cafe Carlyle session:

"i was like i don't know i wanna explain all my tattoos or the one that i'm getting removed on my side...you know you're like...WHATEVER we're stopping we're moving on"

February 13, 2018 - Dianna attends the Carolina Herrera fashion show, so does Karlie. Dianna is introduced to Karlie by Derek Blasberg and very audibly calls Karlie “gorgeoouusss” as they meet.

Winter 2014 - Clean?

Karlie and Taylor have met by now and are quickly getting close. Karlie appears to be spending quality time with Taylor through December 2013 and beyond. There are reports that Karlie may have been at Andrea’s birthday party (early January.)

However according to the Lover Diaries Taylor is still feeling frustrated about love:

January 6, 2014

She ends out this journal entry by saying “They say if you love something let it go and if it comes back blah blah blah....So I’m leaving the day after tomorrow. Dating is awful. Love is fiction/a myth. I’m over it all.”

That line about letting something go actually sounds a lot like This Love lyrics:

This love is good, this love is bad This love is alive back from the dead These hands had to let it go free And this love came back to me

This Love seems to be about her and Dianna’s fall 2012 reconciliation and is now referenced again a year and a half later. That’s what makes me think she’s referencing Dianna in this journal entry.

She also mentions deciding to move to New York. She had been seen searching for property in London in November 2013. Karlie claims in an interview later on that she’s the one who convinced Taylor to move to New York.

Some time early winter 2014 - Taylor stops by the Glee set

Kevin tells the story on a 2020 episode of Showmance about Taylor visiting the Glee set “just to see who was there.” We can’t be sure of the exact date but given the episode they’re reviewing we know it’s January or February of 2014.

The people Taylor were closest to on the Glee cast were of course Dianna obviously and Cory but Cory had passed away by this point.

This anecdote from Kevin and the Jan 6 Lover Diary entry make it clear there is a bit of residual Swiftgron pining and I think one last fling around this time in early 2014 becomes the inspiration for the song Style.

February 2014 - Dianna appears in UK InStyle done up like James Dean with her hair slicked back:

February 8, 2014 - Taylor writes Clean while in London - a song about finally being done with a relationship that’s officially been over for 10 months. She’s finally clean of Dianna right?

The “months and months of back and forth” referenced in Clean I believe points to the time around September when they appear to attempt to reconcile and then Dianna’s increasingly frustrated Instagram posts that appear exactly when Taylor meets Karlie.

(Later on in an interview Karlie claims Clean is her favorite track on 1989)

February 14, 2014 - Dianna posts to IG a clip of her dog being funny and ignoring her and she says “Freddie doesn’t care. Not at all. February 14, 2014.”

February 19, 2014 - Sike she’s not Clean yet - Taylor writes Style - a song about a relationship that never goes out of style and about hooking up with an ex where you’ve both tried to move on, been with other people even, but are still drawn back to one another

It’s thought that Taylor may have seen Dianna in the UK copy of InStyle dressed up like James Dean and been inspired to write the song.

In interviews about this song Taylor says a lot of interesting thing. First of all she says “there’s not always a case of who was right and who was wrong.” when she speaks about the relationship that inspired this song - it’s more complicated than that:

She also describes the person who inspired this song as “that one person who you feel like might interrupt your wedding and be like ‘don’t do it, cause we’re not over yet’ I think everybody as that one person who kind of floats in and out of their life and the narrative is never truly over.”

Taylor describing the relationship that inspired this song as intense but essentially something she’ll look back on without any malice and the phrase “that one person” is one of the key pieces of evidence that made me think that the break up songs on Red (which were described by Taylor as about a toxic relationship) could not be about Dianna. Also the lyric in Clean - “just because you’re clean don’t mean you don’t miss it” tells me that however tough it got with Dianna she still misses her and thinks fondly of her.

Back to the timeline...

Early March (March 6th?) - Taylor and Karlie go to Big Sur and I believe this is the official start to their relationship (due to the love locked down instagram post) - Swiftgron is essentially over.

Spring/Summer/Fall 2013 - The End(?)

I don’t know if it’s important or not but Dianna wishes several friends a late happy birthday on twitter, apologizing for missing the actual day through this spring and summer. It seems like maybe she’s going through something (like a bad break up?) because it’s not like her to miss friends’ birthdays.

April 7, 2013 - Dianna tweets a photo of James Dean in a day dream like setting:

Someone made a fake article that said Swiftgron was dating:

Dianna tweets seven times that day which is a bit much for her.

The hashtag here stands out to me:

The fake article goes viral and all week people are tweeting about the possibility that Dianna and Taylor are dating.

April 23, 2012

It seems to culminate on this day. Many people are buzzing about Swiftgron and this actress tweets:

That’s right at midnight.

About 12 hours later Dianna deletes her public Tumblr:

On that same day Dianna reblogs several things on her private Tumblr. These two stand out to me:

She reblogged both of these posts and the only hashtag they had in common was “#lost love” - she was searching that hashtag.

I think it’s very clear that today is the day Swiftgron 2.0 broke up. I believe they were forced to by their management teams due to being outed.

April 24, 2013 - Taylor seems regretful/stressed out she screenshots her text to Austin and posts:

I think Dianna’s obviously upset about this and as an act of defiance she tweets at Taylor a few days later (Taylor does not respond.)

Instead Taylor posts on Dianna’s Birthday (April 30) a silly google search (very DIanna in nature tbh) with a play on the lyrics from 22:

Taylor had the week of Dianna’s 27th birthday off of the Red tour (it was scheduled like that) but as far as we know they did not hang out.

May 4, 2013 - Ours

At her first show since their supposed break-up, Taylor performs Ours as a surprise song. She introduces it by saying: “This is a song about how, when you fall in love everybody starts to give you their opinion. I imagine it could be really hard to make a relationship last, I wouldn’t know. But, given that everyone is giving you their own opinion about it, I think that the only opinion you should really listen to is yours and if you love that person, that should be all that matters.”

Dianna dyes her hair brown and goes to Morocco a week later with Ashley (”You searched the world for something else, To make you feel like what we had”) from about May 11 - May 14 or 15. While there she attends the A Small World relaunch. ASW could be viewed as a bit “sketchy” if you will. I think this is where she befriends Olivia Wilde.

This is Dianna’s first (known) trip to Morocco (Derek Blasberg is there too) but she seems to be drawn there over and over again after this, even marrying Winston Marshall there (and possibly meeting another boyfriend, Gus Wenner there.)

May 19, 2013 - Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas

Taylor wins 8 awards and says this during her acceptance speech:

This and the performance of Ours makes me think Taylor is bitter about a break up right now, even though publicly she broke up with Harry back in January.

This is also the event where Taylor is famously grossed out by Justin and Selena’s hetero nonsense and does this:

It seems like as always, Taylor has a lot going on right now...some kind of drama with Justin is boiling but it’s possible she’s also referencing her breakup with Dianna in her acceptance speech.

May 20, 2013 - WLW icon Kristen Stewart apparently spends the night at Taylors?

May 28, 2013 - Taylor plays Haunted on the Red Tour and gives a speech:

"This is a song that I haven't played on this tour so far. It came up when one of my friends tweeted the lyrics to it today and it reminded me that I haven't played this song in about two years. It has to do with the fact that, you know people talk about ghosts all the time. You just kind of imagine it being this supernatural thing, but there's another kind of ghost and it's just a person who is out there walking in the world or just doesn't love you anymore and that's a whole different kind of being haunted." Seems like she’s really going through it.

July 2, 2013 - Anniversary of Hyannis Port trip and interesting private Tumblr post from Dianna:

Bad things happen this summer. Cory Monteith passes away and Taylor is assaulted at a meet and greet by a DJ.

July 2013 - Dianna buys a house in LA (I Wish You Would)

August 2013 - Dianna’s whosirmesir moniker gets outed and she stops blogging under that tumblr account.

August 14, 2013 - Taylor is in a weird place according to the Lover diaries:

1. she seems to have basically written The Lakes here

2. she’s really harping on themes she ends up addressing in I Know Places, Out of the Woods, and Wonderland

August 29, 2013 - Dianna steps out with restaurateur Nick Mathers.

Not sure what to make of this one. Dianna seems to date two types of men: 1. teeny bopper actors for bearding and pr purposes (it generally seems) and 2. rich businessmen. Nick is type 2, but their relationship is reported on as if it’s PR. “Sources” call up gossip sites to fill them in on the relationship and both their projects get plugged along with announcements on them as a couple:

I don’t know if they were more or less legit but she goes out with Taylor five days later...

September 4, 2013 - The Fun! Concert:

Swiftgron’s last pre-Kaylor public sighting - they go to a Fun! concert in LA

It’s just a split instant of video footage but Sarah Hyland uploads this to Vine and it does not look like Dianna is enjoying herself:

Note: It kind of looks like DIanna has her arm around Taylor’s waist and also the person to the right of Taylor is Selby Drummond who is still friends with DIanna as of writing of this masterpost (December 2020) and who still appears to be a fan of Taylor’s.

Dianna does look miserable but I do think it’s interesting they seem to be making an effort to hang out on the two year anniversary of their public (perhaps private as well) first meeting.

Dianna tweets about the concert the next day:

September 6, 2013 - Taylor plays Speak Now as the surprise song on the Red tour. Interesting given the timing of Dianna and her new boyfriend being public just one week before this.

September 8, 2013 - Taylor plays Sad, Beautiful Tragic for the first time ever live and gives this speech:

"I kind of feel like playing a song I've never ever played live before. This is um a song that I wrote about how you know just because something's over doesn't mean it wasn't incredibly beautiful. Cause another lesson I've learned is not all stories have a happy ending and you have to learn how to deal with that. So this is a song about a story that didn't end so happily but was still supposed to happen. This is called Sad, Beautiful, Tragic."

I don’t think this song was originally written about Dianna but I do think at this time while they stumble through the last phase of their relationship Taylor was inspired to sing it.

October 2013 - Taylor writes I Wish You Would, a song inspired by an ex who had recently bought a house near her driving past her house. It’s thought to be about Harry but Harry didn’t buy a house in LA until March 2014. But of course we know Dianna did buy a house near Taylor’s in LA earlier this fall.

November 11, 2013 - The music video for “She’s Just Another Girl” premiers starring Dianna looking stunning in high fashion drag, dressed up as the lead singer, and lip syncing the words to the song:

Some lyrics to the song include:

All of my friends say I should move on She's just another girl, don't let her stick it to your heart so hard And all of my friends say it wasn't meant to be And it's a great big world, she's just another girl

I could be reeling them in left and right Something's got a hold on me, tonight Well maybe all of my friends should confront The fact that I don't want another girl

I think it’s at least possible that Dianna was drawn to this project because the lyrics resonated to her given what she was going through with Taylor at the time.

November 12, 2013 - Day of Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show rehearsals and Dianna posts this (now deleted) picture:

November 13, 2013 - Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show where Taylor performs and Karlie Kloss walks the runway.

Dianna posts this picture (now deleted) of her at Emma Stone’s birthday party from 11 months previous:

It’s likely she’s looking at Taylor in this photo who was seated across from her.

It’s a very random picture to post. It wasn’t titled as a throwback and it wasn’t an exact year after the picture was taken (prompting some kind of happy birthday shout out to Emma Stone or anything) - just a random picture of Dianna smiling, likely at Taylor.

November 17, 2013 - Dianna posts a (now deleted) photo about missing someone:

December 13, 2013 - Dianna posts an attention grabbing photo on Taylor’s Birthday

Conclusions - Swiftgron very clearly goes through a rough breakup due to being outed.

Then they attempt some sort of reconciliation - even hanging out (date night?) on the second anniversary of their Fairfax Flea Market meetcute, but it goes wrong.

Taylor is on tour for much of this time and Dianna is posting angst ridden and peculiar Instagram posts exactly at the time Taylor meets Karlie.

Haylor is done, Harry is back in the UK, but Taylor shows up with a hickey anyway. (Dianna is in LA at this time.)

Some time this month Taylor writes How You Get The Girl which is about obviously someone who comes back to get the girl. She references “standing in the rain” and “a long six months.” It’s hard to know if these details are more “fanfic” or actual autobiographical details.

This six months may actually refer to the end of bearding for a while (because it seems like Swiftgron did reunite in Paris in early October.) Exactly six months after Taylor started dating Conor Kennedy would be January 25th, 2013.

As for the rain...

It rained twice in LA this month according to weather reports on the 21st and on the 23rd:

Dianna is in LA at this point and has started a private Tumblr blog under the name whosirmesir (we verified it was hers over on @swiftgron-get-married - and you can click here for more on that if you’re curious and actually I did an entire podcast episode walking people through it if you’re like like to listen to an in depth breakdown of it click here for apple OR click here for spotify OR click here for google.

I also recommend searching the whosirmesir tag on @swiftgron-get-married because we’ve logged a lot of interesting moments and connections to Taylor (quotes, art, and other items that tie DIanna and Taylor together.)

On the private tumblr on January 25th Dianna reblogs this:

It reads “i think we’re just gonna have to be secretly in love with each other and leave it at that...”

This is also the time period it is rumored that Dianna proposed to Taylor. I’m not sure what to make of these rumors. I have not been able to get anywhere near confirming them. It’s entirely unsubstantiated - but I explored the rumor further in this blog post (click for link.) And also on the podcast (will link just a bit down in this post because it relates to something else we’re about to discuss.)

February 4, 2013 - Dianna recommends “Far Nearer” by Jaime on twitter:

The lyrics are essentially:

February 9, 2013 - Neruda quote on Tumblr from Dianna

Dianna posts a quote to Tumblr. The translation is, “I love you as certain dark things are loved, secretly, between the shadow and the soul.”

It’s worth noting that Taylor namechecked Neruda in the Red album booklet.

February 10, 2013 - The Grammys

Dianna wants to make sure everyone is watching:

She won for Safe and Sound:

And she performs her circus themed rendition of WANEGBT (where she mocks Harry Styles on stage making fun of his accent when she sings the “so he calls me up on the phone” part of the song even though this song was written before she was even with him.)

The only other time Dianna tweeted about the Grammys was when Glee was involved the year before.

February 14, 2013 - Achele breakfast and The Inside Source at Glee Tweet

According to a Facebook user Cory, Dianna, and Lea have breakfast this morning (or around this time):

Later that day Taylor posts the infamous tweet:

The Glee Episode “I Do” airs and there is no Taylor song included. However Dianna and Naya’s characters hook up:

After the episode airs Taylor deletes her tweet.

As always I’m not entirely sure what to make of this but to me it boils down to three possibilities:

1. The fandom seems to think this proves that Dianna purposefully tricked Taylor into watching her “hook up” with Naya on screen. It’s completely possible that that’s the case but I think the next two options make a bit more sense.

2. It was a simple misunderstanding or a joke gone wrong. Taylor had a song earlier on that season of glee (Mine sung as a breakup song by Naya) and I have been told another song of Taylor’s was marketed for another glee episode later that spring. Perhaps someone got their wires crossed and misinformed Taylor.

3. Other nefarious parties:

a. It’s possible that Lea was behind this - she publicly had beef with Taylor at one point and she had been with Dianna that morning. Maybe she met up with DIanna, heard about Swiftgron being happy and back together and got a little jealous and decided to prank Taylor.

b. Ryan Murphy also seemed to despise both Dianna and Taylor around this time. He was also famous for stirring up drama with Gleeks on twitter and generally sewing discontent (particularly surrounding wlw ships and fans). Ryan seems to have a problem with women/lesbians in general. He treated Brittana as a couple horribly on Glee as well as their shippers.

He very publicly shaded Taylor in season one of Scream Queens and said in an interview that Dianna ruined Quinn for him because he said she made her sympathetic.

Not only that but in season 3 he destroyed her character - he made her have a mental breakdown - he had her try and steal a baby - he had her get hit by a car - and a huge plotline in season 3 was Quinn begging Rachel (Lea’s character so Dianna’s irl ex) not to marry Finn (played by Cory - literally the guy Lea chose Dianna over - this is like...emotionally abusive if you ask me.) After season 3 Dianna only appeared in 8 episodes of the remaining 55 after being in every episode and the top third billed of the cast in the first three seasons.

Furthermore in a show called The New Normal there was a bitchy actress character named Brynn who he wrote as high maintenance and unpleasant and then killed off.

So yeah...seems fair to at least consider that Ryan or Lea who publicly had problems with both Taylor and Dianna may have been trying to create problems for Swiftgron. One last note about Lea - there was not a single Achele interaction for the entire year of 2013. The most we got was Dianna liking a tweet about Lea’s album in December 2013 and when asked about one another in interviews they would vaguely say they were still friends. No tweets to one another, no birthday messages, no candids, no hang outs. Lea’s book was also written around this time and does not make a single mention of Dianna - her former roommate and “best friend” even though she spends plenty of time talking about others on the Glee cast.

While I’m not entirely sure Dianna had anything to do with this tweet Taylor references this date (2-14-13) by putting it on a dollar bill as a serial number in The Man music video:

At any rate Taylor deletes the tweet and replaces it with one about her dancers:

Dianna tweets 9 hearts that day (I don’t know if that’s significant but if they were together from March 2012 to July 2012 and then October 2012 to this point it would mean 9 months together...)

Taylor listed this as a quote to live by in an interview with Marie Claire a few months later.

I’m not sure if it’s important but Dianna is very quiet this winter and spring in terms of showing up at events, parties, even being papped out on the street compared to other years around this time. She seems to disappear a bit.

February 27, 2013 - Taylor gives a bday shoutout to her Fiddle player Caitlin:

March 12, 2013 - Weird tweets from Dianna “One of those days.”

March 13, 2013 - It’s the first day of the Red tour (is that why Dianna had questions?)

About the Red Tour - the last act of the tour seems to be circus themed which may have been inspired by Dianna’s 26th birthday the previous year and really interestingly Taylor has a white rabbit, which is a reference to Alice in Wonderland (Dianna’s favorite piece of media ever) follows Taylor around stage during the WANEGBT performance as she’s dressed up like a circus ringleader:

March 18, 2013 - Dianna goes on a Girls HBO rant (we know who also loved Girls the show and its creator Lena Dunham (Taylor))

End of March - Lena and Ashley show up at the Red Tour backstage

Conclusion - Swiftgron is on but completely underground. Dianna is blogging and tweeting romantic things about missing girls, Taylor’s interests, and secret love, all while watching Taylor perform at the Grammys and encouraging others to tune in. Something weird happened with the inside source at Glee tweet but who knows what. Dianna seems a bit restless and emo while Taylor leaves to go on tour.

Fall 2012 - Rivergron in Paris Part 2, This Love, and Haylor

For most of late summer and fall 2012 Dianna is in Paris and Normandy filming The Family. She also supposedly starts dating Christian Cooke, another teeny bopper actor around this time. She is spotted with him a handful of times - in NYC once or twice in November 2012 and in LA a couple time in March 2013. Reads as PR/Bearding to me very clearly.

August 10, 2012 - Dianna hits on Naya because her girlfriend is dating a high schooler:

August 13, 2012 - WANEGBT comes out and Dianna tweets:

I do think they’re broken up at this time. I think it’s possible that Dianna was shading/teasing Taylor a bit because they were trying to work it out at this point or she was just genuinely trying to be supportive by tweeting about it. I do think this song is probably about Liz but I think Dianna may have found it funny that her current ex/but possibly soon to be girlfriend again is releasing songs lamenting on/off relationships.

I mean she’s saying “like...never, ever?” it really does feel like she’s teasing her because they are going to get back together and Dianna knows it.

It’s also possible that by this point they had already worked it out and agreed to reunite when Taylor could make it out to France after her likely planned 3 month PR relationship with Conor ended.

September - Taylor breaks up with Conor at some point and also shows up at a Sushi restaurant with Ed and Harry.

One final note regarding Conor x Taylor - There is a rumor that the purchasing of a house in Rhode Island by Taylor which was then flipped (for a healthy profit) at this time was actually a favor she did for the Kennedys. The theory is that the person that Taylor bought the house from had some issue with the Kennedys so Taylor bought it on their behalf. I have been able to confirm that Taylor did sell the house to a sort of “suspicious” shell company but other than that I haven’t been able to confirm the rest of this rumor. The idea is that the trade off was a real estate deal for the Kennedys and a beard for Taylor.

I also think it’s possible that since Joe Kennedy III was running for office that fall they wanted to get. Kennedy name recognition with a younger voter base and Taylor’s fanbase was a good place to strt.

September 29, 2012 - Rivergron in Paris

Naya goes to visit Dianna for a girl’s trip:

If there’s any time period for a Rivergron hookup this seems to be the most reasonable time to me. It’s possible it happened before when they were in London together (while Dianna was actually with Taylor, hence Babe) and of course it’s completely possible that Rivergron only ever was friends but Naya being in Paris with Dianna seems to spark something with Taylor because immediately after that...

October 1, 2012 - Taylor goes to France:

Taylor is in Paris from the 1st-4th October, where she films the music video to Begin Again. She and Dianna have dinner together on the evening of the 3rd. All signs point to Swiftgron being back on at this point.

October 15, 2012 - Dianna is in LA (she has been since the 10th I think)

October 17, 2012 - Taylor writes This Love in LA

So we have Taylor in LA writing a song about getting back together with someone and Dianna in LA but Harry is in the UK performing with 1D. Of course the song could be reflecting on the time Taylor just spent in Europe with Harry (of course...Dianna was there too...) but I just think everyone’s locations at the time of this song’s writing is interesting.

November 2012 - Taylor starts publicly dating Harry Styles

I want to take a minute and point out that while Dianna may have had a problem with Taylor dating Conor there’s a few reasons that I think she probably had less of a problem with Haylor because:

1. Harry is vaguely out as queer himself (he was not at the time but is now in October 2020 while this is being written.) I don’t know if he’s attracted to women or not but I do think Haylor was to cover up a mlm relationship he was in at the time so Dianna was probably less bothered by him and...

2. Dianna was spotted hanging out with Taylor and Harry. I think it’s possible she asked to be around them a bit more so she knew for sure nothing was going on between them and...

3. Harry was already incredibly famous at the time, unlike Conor, and would have been fully aware that a PRomance is not an organic relationship based on emotions or feelings.

FURTHERMORE

Harry was dating absolutely Nick Gryles at the time of Haylor. Yep... we have debunked Taylor’s most prolific muse...

December 3, 2012 - Ripple of Hope Gala

Dianna accompanies Taylor to the Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights 2012 Ripple of Hope gala. They have matching bangs, Dianna tweets, and gives an interesting first person pronoun riddled interview:

December 6, 2012 - Dinner at the Crosby hotel and Emma Stone’s Birthday Party:

Dianna, Taylor, Harry and others have dinner at the Crosby hotel. There are videos and photos from the paps:

It looks as though Dianna had no choice but to go back to LA - she had to film for Glee:

but the next day she is taking a 14 hour long flight:

I’ve heard that yes she may have been in the UK but by that point Taylor was already in Germany - I’m not sure - but it’s interesting and worth noting.

Conclusion - Swiftgron broke up but is back together (or certainly back on good terms.) The timing of the writing of HYGTG makes me wonder if they didn’t become entirely official again until January but we’ll get into that in the next segment.

My big takeaway here is she is daydreaming about a trip she’s going to take with Dianna that is nearly a month away.

My favorite moment is when Taylor sings ours (which Dianna mentioned wanted to sing on Glee) Taylor points out to the crowd when she says my choice is you:

People speculate who it is when it’s posted. We have no way of knowing but I think it’s Taylor on the left, Dianna in the middle, and Claire or Roxy on the right (Ashley is shorter than Dianna so I don’t think it’s her.)

It’s worth noting that the tabloids are all abuzz with the idea that Taylor is going to be dating or is already dating Patrick Schwarzenegger. Who was feeding people this idea? Because we know she doesn’t end up dating him.

Crazy Days and Nights posts about the trip and someone leaves my favorite comment on the internet on the article:

If you can’t see that screenshot it says “Lola S said...I know a girl who hooked up with Dianna Agron four months ago and still won’t shut up about her. I wonder if Taylor has the same tendencies”

Obviously there’s absolutely no way to verify it but ~four months before that would be about the end of Feb/beginning of March right when Achele ended and right before Swiftgron started.

Dianna heads back to LA and it appears Taylor goes to Nashville for a while after this.

Directly after the trip Dianna tweets this (she had been suspiciously absent from twitter for a while):

July 22, 2012 - Giffoni Film Festival

Dianna gives an interview and is asked what she plans on doing in the future, particularly if acting doesn’t work out. She says earnestly she guesses she could “Just go on the road with Taylor and carry her bags” adding in a little chuckle at the end.

Taking a moment to note here that Dianna does end up going on tour with a musician...her husband Winston Marshall who she later marries in 2016. Interesting that she said she’d do with Taylor what she ended up doing with her husband.

Three days later on July 25, 2012 - Taylor starts publicly dating Conor Kennedy who had just turned 18 on July 24, 2012.

Conclusion - I believe this marks the first Swiftgron break up for a few reasons:

1. Around 3 months later, Taylor writes This Love which is a song about getting back together with someone (”This love is good, this love is bad, this love is alive back from the dead”) when she visits Dianna in France.

2. Remember how I said that Achele ended partially because Lea chose to try and make her PRomance with Cory Monteith into a real romance? I believe Dianna feared it was possible Taylor might do the same thing with Conor. I highly doubt Taylor had any legitimate feelings towards this high schooler she was foisted into a romance with. However, by all accounts Conor is straight and you have to imagine that if you’re 18 and you’ve been pushed into a dating situation, no matter how fake, with a gorgeous, sweet, and wealthy ultra famous pop star, you probably wouldn’t be able to help but develop feelings for her anyway and Conor was young and likely immature. He may have expected something real to develop from the relationship.

3. Swiftgron does not spend time together again until after Taylor and Conor publicly split (immediately after Taylor and Conor break up Taylor goes to paris and is with Dianna.)

As for a Conor debunk - His cousin Joe Kennedy III was running for office that fall and I think it’s possible they wanted to use Taylor’s name to up the Kennedy recognition amongst young voters while Taylor needed a green eyed muse for EHC (even though she wrote it before she met Conor as far as we know, but she did try to give it to him with the misspelled Hyiannis Port liner note - I think that was her way of giving the song to Dianna who also has an iann in her name)

The Swiftgron Summer Part 1

May 4, 2012 - Taylor goes jewelry shopping:

May 6-9 - Dianna is in NYC - Spotted in SOHO and then Met Gala (Lea is at the Met Gala as well, they don’t interact.)

The alert anon is back on TLC on May 12 and suggests something is going to happen that week. Now they’re posting as Ashley/Claire because people keep suggesting it’s one of them:

May 15, 2012 - Everything Has Changed and Dominick's Dinner Date

Taylor tweets about writing songs with Ed Sheeran on this day. The song is likely Everything Has Changed the song she dueted with him on the Red album The song is about a new love with green eyes:

Appropriately the girls have dinner that night (is this what the alert anon was referring to?) Taylor and Dianna are matchy matchy and joined by Ashley and Claire. The paps catch them and there is even video.

Dianna appears to brush Taylor’s wrist or arm, almost protectively as if to hold her back a bit or warn her since the paps are out in full force, as they exit the restaurant:

Dianna is in London on May 23rd (in London with Naya at least from May 22-24)

I think this is the inspiration for the “I guess you’re in London today” part of Come Back... Be Here.

Meanwhile Taylor is with Ashley and Claire acting gay on May 24th

“Evidently, it was ‘face paint Wednesday’ last night. @ashavignone drew a unicorn on @clairewinter’s face. Impressed.“

May 28, 2012 - Taylor and Ed are spotted at the studio - likely recording Everything Has Changed:

May 31, 2012 - Dianna apparently goes on a date with director Henry Joost

She looks thrilled...I don’t think it’s any accident that they lined up outside with the rest of the audience. They wanted to be spotted “on a date” because a couple days later Dianna is hosting the GLAAD awards.

Henry Joost actually ended up directing the Best Best Friends video for Kaylor...is it possible he’s a trusted contact of Taylor’s so they set this date up to avoid public speculation about Swiftgron after Dianna hosted the GLAAD awards?

Here’s an article reporting on the GLAAD Awards - You’ll see why Dianna went on two dates with Henry one two days before the GLAAD awards and one a couple days after and then never saw him again as far as we know:

Dianna’s association with the LGBT community at the GLAAD awards was not going to help the gay rumors surrounding her. By having her out on a very public date with a man it would help quell the rumors surrounding her sexuality.

There’s a funny picture from that night I’m going to include. Someone recognized her and asked for an autograph on a rather scandalous Achele photo and Dianna makes a funny face while signing it:

June 3, 2012 - Danna hosts the 23rd Annual GLAAD Media Awards at San Francisco Marriott Marquis As part of her hosting duties Dianna auctions off a kiss for charity and brags about having kissed girls before - sort of unprompted.

Sometime during this period Taylor writes Come Back... Be Here

The only conclusion I draw from this is there’s no way Everything Has Changed, Come Back... Be Here and The Last Time are about the same person - they’re all written during this time and one is about the painful end to a relationship and the others are about a soft and happy start to a new one. (The final version of Everything Has Changed seems to obviously be about Dianna to me though it’s possible the original draft was for LIz.)

Also it seems really obvious that Dianna’s incredibly brief “fling” with Henry Joost is just to distract from her hosting the GLAAD Awards.
