You were stringing every curse word you could think of in your head as your right leg shook up and down uncontrollably. Tonight was supposed to be a good night. A night of celebration and friends, but that turned south very quickly when you got to your table.
The outdoor venue that was chosen to host the drew house celebration was big. There were plenty of areas to sit or stand and seating wasn’t assigned. So it infuriated you to no end when Auston decided to sit right across from you with the beautiful blonde he brought as his date.
There was always tension between you that was predictable but the tension that was happening now was palpable and uncomfortable.
Shawn rested his hand on your leg under the table in an attempt to help you relax. You looked over at your ex and gave him a gentle smile and his hand a light squeeze of appreciation.
“So, any big plans before you guys leave LA?” Your best friend asked trying to diffuse the tension.
“Yes!” Steph picked up immediately also trying to lighten the mood, “We planned a hike to the Hollywood sign tomorrow morning.”
“That’s awesome, we’ve done that a few times and honestly the view never gets old.” Your best friends boyfriend, Ryan commented.
“Are you all going?” You asked wanting to know what Auston would be doing, especially if his plans involved his “friend”.
“Nah.” Auston shook his head, “Alexa and I are just gonna chill by the pool.” He smirked, his eyes never leaving yours, “You know what they say, nothing like the California sun.”
You hummed a response your jaw tightening. The thought of Alexa near naked next to Auston made you sick.
“Well I think we all deserve a break especially you two,” you best friend pointed between you and Auston, “(y/n), told me about all the time you put into this event.”
“Yeah, we really had to work together to make the party a success.” Auston kept his eyes on you as your chair made a screeching sound against the ground as you stood abruptly.
“You okay?” Shawn asked as all eyes at the table turned to you.
“Yeah.” You reassured, “I’m just gonna go get another drink, do you want anything?”
“No, I think I’ve had enough. Thank you though.” He smiled brightly up at you.
“Okay.” You gave his shoulder a squeeze before making your way to the bar. After you ordered you put your head down on the cool surface to try and regather yourself. You were annoyed by the emotional strain you were already feeling and the night had barely even begun.
“Almost didn’t recognize you earlier with your clothes on.” You didn’t need to turn around to know the voice whispering in your ear was Auston’s.
“Funny.” You deadpanned sitting back up, but refusing to look at him.
“Were you planning on ignoring me the whole night?”
“For as long as I could.” You admitted with a shrug.
“Don’t you think you’ve done that enough already?” Auston picked up his own drink that he ordered. “You won’t answer any of my calls, you’re ignoring all my texts.”
“Mhm” you agreed. “If you don’t see this going anywhere I don’t want to be involved.”
You both stood side by side back to the bar watching the crowd. You felt a pang of sadness in your chest watching the table you came from. As everyone interacted and laughed your eyes specifically fell on Shawn.
You could be with him if you wanted to, not him specifically but a guy like him. A sweet guy, someone who is kind and polite and treated you well. All of your ex boyfriends fit that description, they were everything you needed. Auston was the opposite. He was loud and assertive and honest, even if it hurt your feelings. He wasn’t everything you needed, but he was everything you wanted.
“That’s not what I said.”
“You told me you didn’t want me.”
“I didn’t say that.”
“Oh right you just left me there crying.”
“I didn’t ask you to catch feelings for me, in fact I made it abundantly clear that you shouldn’t.”
You weren’t sure if you regretted that night with Auston or not. The back and forth game between you two was finally over, but the last few weeks also left you lonely and missing him.
With it being the off season, Auston had the time to come to your concert in New York. After the show he joined you at your hotel before you left the next day for the next state.
The night went as it usually did, sex…cuddling…sex again…cuddling again…shower (sometimes sex in the shower). But you didn’t let the routine get past the first round. As you laid there in his arms you took the risk and asked where he saw things going. You tried to deny your feelings for as long as you could but after a while there was no point in ignoring how you felt.
“I’m over it, Auston.” You gulped down the rest of your drink.
“Are you over me?” You sucked in a breath as his fingers timidly touched yours, not fully holding your hand but close enough.
To say the night ended badly would be an understatement. You slammed the bathroom door shut after he rejected you and soon after your hotel room door was slammed shut following Auston’s exit. You’ve ignored him since that night, wanting to forget everything that happened and move on.
“Yes.” Placing your glass down on the bar you rejoined the crowd. You spent the next hour mingling with others and avoiding Auston.
“You okay?” You stood off to the side with Steph.
“Yeah, why wouldn’t I be?” You twirled the small straw that came with your drink around your glass a few times.
“You just haven’t seemed like yourself.” She shrugged, “and I don’t want to assume but..” she trailed off avoiding eye contact.
“But, what? Steph.”
“But even your fighting with Auston isn’t like your usual fighting.” She shifted from one foot to the other. “Usually it’s annoyed fighting, but tonight it feels almost…personal.”
You swallowed thickly, “What are you trying to say?”
“Did something happen between the two of you?” She finally huffed out.
“No.” You shook your head, “he’s just more irritating than usual tonight.”
You watched as she processed the information but the frown she wore didn’t leave, “If there was anything wrong, you would tell me right?”
“Of course.” It felt like a knife right through the heart as you lied to her, “you’ve become one of my best friends.”
She let out a deep breath and finally smiled, “Okay, good. I’ve just been worried about both of you.”
You wanted to ask her why she’s been worried about Auston. Has he been acting different also? Had your conversation actually had an effect on him? But before any of your questions could be answered the devil himself interrupted.
“Hey Steph, could you keep Alexa company? I forgot a gift in my car and need to go grab it.”
The blond looked over her shoulder before side stepping to allow a spot for the new company to join, “of course we were just gossiping.” She giggled.
You smiled at Alexa but your eyes really never left Auston as you watched him walk away, “excuse me, I’m going to talk to one of the sound guys.”
You backed out of the group and sped walked through the crowd careful to not trip on your own heels. You caught up to Auston right as he was getting his keys from the valet guy.
“We need to talk.” You demanded latching onto his arm.
“Okay, walk with me to my car.” You walked in silence to the parking garage and once you arrived Auston unlocked the doors getting into the drivers side. “Get in.”
You slid into the passenger side crossing your arms over your chest, “what do you think your doing?”
Auston reached into his backseat grabbing a small box, “Getting Justin’s gift.”
“Not that,” you slapped the small box out of his hand back into the backseat, “you brought one of your old hookups as your date.”
“What about you?”
“Me?” You raised your eyebrows.
“Yes, you.” Auston mocked your voice, “you brought your ex boyfriend, which is way worse.”
“He’s Justin’s friend too.” You defended.
“Yeah, that’s not making it better.”
You crossed your arms over your chest,“Watching you with another girl isn’t any better for me.”
“Don’t be jealous.” Auston placed his hand on your thigh letting it slowly creep under your dress.
“I told you, we aren’t doing that anymore.” You grabbed his wrist stopping his hand from moving any further.
“You say that every time and then next thing you know we’re hooking up again and the cycle repeats itself.”
“No. I was for real last time, if you don’t want anything serious I’m done. And don’t look at me like that.” You grumbled keeping you arms crossed and eyes straight ahead.
“Like what?” Auston teased a smile playing at his lips.
“Like you actually care.”
“I do.” He responded. “I care about making you feel good.” His right hand made itself comfortable on the back of your neck and began applying pressure, “And you look really tense right now.”
“Wonder who’s responsible for that.” You sarcastically responded.
“The same person who can also help you relax.” He suggested his hand back on your thigh again, but this time you let him go under your dress.
It was pathetic how easily your body responded to him. How your head fell back against the head rest and your hips shifted toward him. Your legs spread further apart and your hand came up to play with the hair at the nape of his neck as he pushed your panties to the side.
“You’re really wet for someone who’s done with me.” He commented as he massaged your clit, spreading your wetness around.
You ignored his comment
“If you want me to stop I will, but you have to tell me.” You could only manage to shake your head, taking deep breaths while Auston’s middle finger ran up and down your slit.
“Use your words.” Auston whispered into your ear as his fingers continued to dance around where you needed him the most.
“Don’t stop.” You chocked out almost like a plea. Auston followed your command as two of his fingers started to slowly move in and out of you. He used his right hand to unzip the back of your dress. Allowing the top of your dress to fall down, he began sucking and kissing all over your chest.
You reached over the center console to stroke the growing bulge through his dress pants. However, you suddenly felt empty as Auston’s fingers thar were once inside you were now wrapped tightly around your wrist stopping you, “no, this is about you.”
He put your hand back in your lap before bringing his fingers to your lips. He watched intently as you wrapped your lips around his fingers sucking gently. Auston gave you for a hum of approval before going back to pumping his fingers in and out of you at a pace that only someone with significant wrist strength could manage.
You should’ve been embarrassed about how easily he had you falling apart around his fingers, but the feeling was nonexistent as you moaned hiking your leg up on the seat to give him more access.
You bit down on his lip hard keeping your lips connected as you came down from your first orgasm. Auston continued to move his fingers building you up for a second and then he did it again for a third. His fingers continued to move despite your pleas for him to stop.
“You have one more in you.” He encouraged kissing on your neck.
“Auston-I can’t, please.” You whined overstimulated. Auston loved to hear you beg, it didn’t matter if it was for more or for him to stop. He loved the way your voice strained and your body pulsed and his absolute favorite part was hearing the way you said his name.
Hearing you now only motivated him to move his fingers quicker and at more of angle, “Yes you can. You’ve done it before you can do it now.”
Your hips bucked up involuntarily over and over again to meet his fingers. Your body felt like it was on fire as you reached your climax and that’s all it took before you were slumping forward gripping on to the dashboard to keep yourself steady. Your body was absolutely wrecked and you weren’t sure how you were going to stand, let alone walk back to the party.
“Good girl.” Auston kissed the side of your head, finally removing his fingers. He brought them to his own lips this time sucking them clean.
“Enjoy sitting next to your hookup with me still on your fingers.” You commented through ragged breaths.
“Enjoy singing with your ex boyfriend after I just did that to your pussy.” Austons smug remark had you moving with a sudden burst of energy. You reached for your phone looking at the time as it read 7:45. “Fuck,” you mumbled as you frantically pulled your dress back up. You pulled down the passenger side mirror fixing your makeup and hair before pushing the door open.
“Where are you going?” Auston asked as he followed your lead, also getting out of the car.
“Back to the party, I’m supposed to sing with Shawn at 8:00.” You ran your hands over your dress looking at your reflection in the car window.
“I hope Shawn doesn’t remember what you look like after you get fucked.” Auston dismissed your panicked behavior locking the car before walking around to your side.
“I hope Alexa doesn’t mind sitting in the seat where you fucked me.” You threw back as he picked up your hand leading you back to the venue.
You ran straight into Scooter’s chest as you and Auston sped walk back through the side gate that led to patio.
“Woah, slow down turbo.” He joked placing his hands on your shoulders to steady you.
“Sorry, we uh went to Auston’s car to get his gift for Justin that he forgot and we didn’t realize how far away it was and so we basically ran to make it back in time and they should really give his mom a price reduction because of how far away parking is.” You rambled out of breath as you fidgeted with your fingers.
“Where’s the gift?”
“Huh?” You questioned trying to play it cool.
“The gift, that you guys went to go get. Where is it?” Scooter questioned again looking back and forth between the two of you.
You opened your mouth, but no words came out. You began panicking and searching for any plausible explanation as to why you didn’t have the gift.
“She told me it was stupid.” Auston spoke up clearing his own throat, “the gift, she didn’t like it, told me to return it. Ya know…how she usually acts.” Auston’s voice shook and you mentally rolled your eyes. You may have been a bad actor, but he was worse.
“Right.” Scooter nodded glancing between the two of you again for any real answers. “Well, Shawn’s getting mic’d up now.”
“Yeah I’ll go find him.” You nodded.
“I’ll go back to the table.” Auston said at the same time as you.
You both turned to leave but you turned to your right and he turned to his left causing you to bump into each other. You awkwardly fumbled around each other until you were out of the way.
“Oh and (y/n),” Scooters voice interrupted your awkward interaction “you have a hickey on your neck, might want to put your hair down to cover that up.”
Your cheeks instantly became warm as you kept your head down avoiding eye contact with both of them. “Thanks for letting me know.” You kept your head down as you released your hair from the claw clip it was in and sped walk to the side stage.
“I was starting to think you ditched me.” Shawn joked as he noticed your appearance.
“Sorry I was gone I got caught up in something.” You explained as you were handed a mic. You tucked it under your arm as you placed your inner ear ignoring the way your hands shook.
“You okay? you seem flustered.” He held onto your arm to keep you in place.
“Yeah, Im just nervous.” That wasn’t a total lie.
“I got you, it’s just you and me up there.” His sweet smile made you feel sick. Shawn tucked a piece of hair behind your ear which you quickly began to play with to ensure it didn’t move from your neck.
“You guys ready?” The sound guy asked.
“Yep.” Shawn answered for the both of you as the best you could manage to do was nod your head.
“Alright, you’re on.” He nodded placing headphones over his own ears.
The crowd applauded loudly as you and Shawn took the stage. You were very grateful to whoever’s idea it was to have you sit and perform as you perched yourself on one of the stools center stage. The crowd settled as you sat down and the anticipation built as the opening chords were played by the band.
The crowd erupted into cheers as you and Shawn harmonized on the final note. You held tightly onto his hand slowly opening your eyes.
“I’ve missed singing with you.” He placed a gentle kiss on the back of your hand and then kissed your temple.
“I’ve missed it too.” You agreed, pulling him into a deep hug. Your happiness, however was short lived as you looked out into the crowd and watched a body you knew all too well leaving through the side gate.
You shoved your mic into Shawn’s chest, “I’m sorry give me five minutes and I’ll be back.” You promised leaving without a response.
You sped walk through the crowd your eyes locked on the side gate. You brushed off all the praises you received from people as you passed them, your sole focus on catching up with Auston.
“Auston.” You shouted after him as you exited the gate. He didn’t turn around but kept walking.
“Auston!” You shouted again trying to catch up with him on the sidewalk. “Please stop!” You begged tugging on his arm when you finally caught up.
“What do you want?” He turned around to face you ripping his arm out of your grip.
“I want you to talk to me.”
“Oh like you’ve been talking to me these past couple of weeks?” His voice boomed above all the cars on the street.
“You hurt me.” Your voice was soft, barely above a whisper.
“I just listened to you sing love songs with your ex, so you hurt me too.”
“That’s not fair.” You crossed your arms, tears starting to form in the corner of your eyes. “You left me at that hotel, I shouldn’t be chasing after you.”
“I left because you slammed the bathroom door in my face.”
“Because I told you I had feelings for you and you said that our relationship wasn’t that serious to you.”
“Because I was scared!” Auston finally burst, “I’ve known I wanted something with you ksince that night at our home game when you got into a fight. But I could tell you didn’t want anything so I kept up the little game we had, but then you stayed the night and wrote the song and my feelings just got all confused.” He ran his hands through his hair letting out a deep sigh, “That night I came to your apartment to apologize, that’s all I should’ve done was apologize and then leave. But once we started, I couldn’t stop, you became addicting. And then you became comforting and-fuck-It’s you, you are all I want.”
“Auston-“ you tried to cut him off, but he didn’t let you.
“And that night you told me you wanted more, I panicked because it would mean we would finally be on the same page. And I started to imagine all the scenarios where it wouldn’t work out. I’ve never wanted to hurt you, but that night I did and I haven’t been able to forgive myself since.”
“I forgive you.” You tentively reached for his hand, “I was confused after that night at your apartment too, but I knew there was something there. And I was hurt after my New York show so I tried pushing you away. But, fuck, I can’t turn off how I feel and you’re all I think about. You are everything I want.”
You chewed on your bottom lip as you waited for him to say something, anything. The all consuming silence reminded you of your last night together. And that silence ended in both of you slamming doors and neither of you getting what you wanted.
Up until now all of your relationships for the most part had been easy, especially at the beginning. This was the most you’ve ever had to work. Was being this vulnerable scary as hell? Absolutely. Was Auston worth it? Absolutely.
Auston smiled as a sigh of relief left his lips. He pulled you in by your waist resting his head on your own, “For real?”
You giggled nodding, “yes for real. I don’t want anyone else.” The relief you felt was incomparable. It was like a weight was lifted off your shoulders and you could finally breath.
“I don’t want anyone else either.” He admitted rubbing his hands up and down your back. “I want you to be my girlfriend.” The last sentence was whispered lowly into your ear.
Your grin was enough of an answer, but still you nodded and whispered “I want you to be my boyfriend.”
“I’ll be whatever you want, baby.” Auston reassured placing a kiss on your neck, followed by your cheek, and then your lips.
“Would it be totally wrong if we ditched our dates?
“Yes.” Auston confirmed, “but when have we ever been morally sound people.” He bent to pick you up causing you to squeal and giggle at the sudden change as he carried you down the street.
“That song you performed with him wasn’t even that good anyway.” You laughed at Auston’s bitter tone.
“I’ll perform some new ones for you that I’ve been working on.” You offered running your fingers through his hair.
“As long as they aren’t about another guy.”
“Nah, they’ve all been about the same guy lately” you admitted, hoping the darkness would hide your blush.
“I can’t wait to hear it then.”

Famous Baby blurb
(The Leafs Game)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/n: I’m actually really struggling writing the next part so a throwback! Italics indicate a flashback
“Try going up one note” You suggest standing across from Justin at the piano.
Your friend asked you to come over to help out with some new music he was working on. You also were trying to write an album of your own and figured the afternoon spent working would help you as well. Justin sang the previous verse over again but higher like you suggested.
“Yeah I like that.” He commented going straight into the next verse. You hummed along joining in on certain verses creating a harmony.
“How would you feel about this song being the first I release off the new album?” Your jaw dropped at Justin’s question.
“For real?” You gasped. Justin’s return to music had been long anticipated by both fans and the media alike. And for him to want the song you collaborated on to be his intro back into the music industry was appreciated.
“Of course!” Justin exclaimed scooting back from the piano. “(y/n), you are one of the biggest names in the industry right now if not the biggest” he said putting an emphasis on the word the.
You were like a little sister to Justin, originally signing onto the same label when you were 16 and starting your career. Justin knew what it was like to be so young and in the spotlight so he looked out for you. Despite you switching labels and Justin taking a step back from music, you remained close. There was no one else he trusted more to debut his new album with.
“Youre still Justin Bieber.” You reminded him. “You don’t need my name attached for this to be successful.”
You continued practicing until the afternoon slowly turned into the evening and Hailey came downstairs with a leafs jersey on and an extra in her hands.
“Cult meeting tonight?” You asked as she handed the jersey to Justin.
“Yeah, do you want to come?” She offered.
You laughed at the thought, “Hell no.”
“C’mon, (y/n) please.”
“Come support our friend with us.” They both wore the same pouty expression.
“Auston is not my friend.”
“But we are,” Justin cut in before you could go on a rant. “And would you rather hang out with your friends or stay in by yourself tonight?”
“I’m fine with staying in.”
“C’mon everyone’s going, and it’ll be a fun night and we can go out after-“
“Fine.” You give in. “But I’m not wearing a jersey.”
It wasn’t enough for you to just not wear a maple leafs jersey. You knew one thing would piss off Auston even more. So once you all settled into your seats you grabbed your best friends hand and dragged her down to the gift shop.
“You don’t even like hockey.” She reminded you as you searched through the jerseys. “Why waste money on something you’re never gonna wear again?”
“Because, Auston will hate it.”
“And why do you care what he thinks?”
“I don’t.” You immediately snapped. “But I definitely don’t want him to think I came willingly. Plus we’re from here so why not support the hometown team.” You shrugged continuing your search.
Once you finally settled on a jersey you liked you didn’t wait for a bag and instead immediately pulled it on over your shirt. The jersey may have been petty, but you knew it would get the job done and that’s what mattered.
Justin groaned and rolled his eyes once he saw you return to your seat, “I’m not even gonna say anything.”
“Good choice.” You said sitting down next to Shawn with a satisfied smirk, actually looking forward to the start of the game.
“The arena is packed tonight. And we are not short of celebrity guests. Up in the stands we have Justin and Hailey Bieber, Shawn Mendes, and (y/f/n) (y/l/n)” The crowd cheered loudly following the announcement and the excitement only grew as your section was featured on the Jumbotron. You waved and smiled for the camera.
“It looks like there’s a rivalry going on up there.” The other announcer commented on the oppsoing jerseys you were wearing. You adjusted in your seat making it very known that you had a Kings jersey on.
“I would love to hear the trash talking that’s going on up there between Justin and (y/n)”
Once again the crowd went wild as Auston scored a goal. The group around you excitedly jumped up cheering along with others. You remained stoic looking down at your phone to check the time.
“At least pretend to be happy.” Justin leaned down to whisper his back facing the ice. “The cameras are on us.”
“Excitement for Auston is just something I can’t fake.” You finalized with a shrug of your shoulders, but the pleading look on Justin’s face was too hard to ignore. So you forced a smile throwing in a few claps.
“I’ll take it.” Justin said satisfied.
Once everyone calmed down you went back to your phone showing Shawn pictures from the vacation your family took recently. You were so absorbed in telling various stories from the trip you didn’t notice the time out that was called.
Shawn’s song, Fallin’ All in You began playing. You absentmindedly hummed along and looked up to see the Jumbotron started back up and this time with the kiss cam.
The camera suddenly panned on your section and was featuring Justin and Hailey. All of your friends instantly began cheering the couple on. And when they gave in and the crowd erupted.
Your excitement was fleeting though as the camera moved off of them and onto you and Shawn.
“Oh God.” You mumbled with a smile on your face trying to cover up any discomfort you were feeling.
You thought your immediate hesitation would be enough of an indication that you didn’t want to kiss your ex, but they persisted refusing to move the camera.
“They aren’t going to move on till we kiss.” Shawn whispered.
“Fine.” You conceded leaning back and looking over at him. “You make the first move.”
“Like our first kiss all over again.” He laughed before leaning over and kissing you. It was gentle and sweet, but had the whole arena booming with excitement.
You immediately covered your face laughing along with him as the camera stayed on you two to get the aftermath. Shawn kept his arm wrapped around your shoulders and kissed the side of your head. “Give it a second they’ll move on…And we’re good.”
You were relieved when you looked up and it wasn’t your face you were seeing on the screen. The breakup took place seven years ago and you stayed true to your word remaining friends after the split.
While there were no longer romantic feelings, Shawn was a comforting piece of your foundation. He not only maintained a good relationship with you, but your family as well. You knew he would be a part of your life for the rest of your life.
“Good job guys, no matter what happens with this game, that’s all anyone’s going to be talking about.” Justin reached over to fist bump Shawn.
“So we need to know are you guys back together.” Your best friend held out her water bottle as a fake microphone to you.
“Yeah, that kiss seemed pretty intimate.” Your other friend, Mason joined in also holding out a water bottle.
“Shut up.” You giggled pushing the water bottle away. “If any of you say we’re together I will end you.”
“Not the threats.” Mason joked, “I’m for sure telling TMZ that when they call me.”
Following the kiss cam the intensity seemed to go up for both teams, especially for one player in particular.
Auston wasn’t sure why seeing you on the kiss cam annoyed him so much, but it did. Everyone was supposed to be here to watch a hockey game and you turned it into a joke.
“Fuck.” He angrily slammed his stick against the boards breaking it before taking a seat on the bench.
“Dude, take a breather.” Mitch encouraged sitting down next to him.
“I’m fine.” Auston insisted taking a long swig from his water bottle.
“You sure because you’ve seemed tense?”
“Yeah I just want to win.” Mitch knew that wasn’t the reason, but he also knew not to push so he let it go.
Following your kiss he began playing harder. His hits were more forceful, his trash talking more heated, and his need to score at an all time. The intensity in the arena extended beyond the ice. As the game drew closer to ending fans of both teams started getting more aggressive.
“Matthews sucks. Anytime anyone gets near him he’s crying and acting like a little bitch.” A man sitting in front of you screamed at the glass. You had watched him down four beers already and become progressively drunk as the game went on.
“He’s talented, but selfish with the puck and a show off. The talent won’t last forever.” His friend next to him chimed in. They were both wearing Kings jerseys similar to the one you had on.
The way they were talking about Auston didn’t sit right with you. Any other day you would agree and probably even say those things yourself, but today was not that day.
You may have not known much about hockey, but you knew Auston was good (you would never admit that to him). And two middle aged men saying otherwise annoyed you.
“(Y/n), don’t.” Your best friend wrapped her hand around your wrist. You looked down now noticing that your hands were clenched and tapping against your leg.
“I’m not going to do anything.” You reassured her, trying to take deep breaths, in through your nose and out through your mouth.
“Are you sure? Because you have this crazy look in your eye and your extremely stiff right now.”
“I’m fine.” You seethed through clenched teeth.
“He’s overrated and overpaid.”
You took it upon yourself to tap on one of the men’s shoulder. As they turned around you cleared your throat and plastered on a tight smile. “Don’t you think this is the type of conversation you can have in your car on the ride home or maybe not even at all?”
“I can talk about whatever and whoever I want, when I want to.” The man on the right replied his beer sloshing around in his glass.
“You are two grown men talking about another grown man, be realistic.” You bit back, your attempt at being nice slowly fading away.
“You’re right we are grown men and allowed to have whatever opinion we want.” The second man replied raising his voice.
“Yeah maybe just don’t have it so loudly.” You suggested shrugging your shoulders and leaning back in your seat.
“You don’t know anything about hockey.”
“I know that right now the leafs are beating the kings.”
“Games not over yet.”
“And Matthews has scored two of their four goals.”
Despite your best attempts to keep the conversation cordial. The raised voices started gaining the attention of others around you. You knew a disagreement was one thing, but a full blown fight wouldn’t be a good look for you. As far as the public were concerned you weren’t the type of girl to be aggressive. And you would have maintained that look had one of the men not stood up so he was towering over you.
“He sucks the same way you probably get on your knees every night and suck his dick.” Any thought of being passive for your public image was out the window as you also stood not backing down.
“Excuse me.”
“You heard me.”
“No say it again I want you to hear yourself and how stupid you sound.” Image be damned. You didn’t want someone talking about Auston like that and you definitely weren’t going to allow them to talk about you like that.
“You’re nothing more than one of his sluts.” He threw his arms in the air, but before anything further could happen security was closing in on you quickly. You realized you hadn’t only caught the attention of the people around you but the whole arena as you looked up and could see yourself on the Jumbotron.
“And you’re a pathetic excuse of a human being. People pay to watch him, you’re running your mouth for free.” You had the final say as security pulled him away kicking both man out of the game. The crowd cheered watching them get escorted out, still fighting with anyone they could.
Watching them leave, however didn’t make you feel any better. You quickly picked up your bag and began climbing up the stairs before anyone could stop you. You were embarrassed that someone spoke to you like that especially in front of a crowd. You ran into the nearest bathroom locking yourself in a stall. You cursed yourself for letting your anger get the best of you. You knew this was going to be everywhere in a matter of hours. The string of texts coming into your phone from your publicist let you know that word already got to her.
“Fuck.” You groaned letting your head fall against the stall wall.
“(Y/n)?” You knew your best friend would find you. She stopped in front of the stall you were in, “I know you’re in there. I can see your feet.”
You groaned stomping your foot on the ground,“Go away.” There was no way you were opening the door.
“A security guard came over to us, Auston’s asking to see you.”
“No.” You flat out refused.
“Please.” You didn’t need to open the door to know she was biting down on her lip, a nervous habit she picked up from you. “He’s refusing to go back on the ice until he talks to you and they kinda need him.”
“Oh my god, he’s so dramatic.” You exclaimed opening the door. You usually were against giving into tantrums, but this needed to be resolved.
You begrudgingly followed security as they took you down to the tunnel where Auston was waiting.
“Are you crazy?” Auston screamed as soon as he saw you walking towards him.
Auston was confused as both teams were forced back to their benches in the middle of the game. Nothing happened on the ice to justify this, but as the crowd started to get loud and the Jumbotron featured the stands he realized it wasn’t because of what was happening on the ice, but rather off of it.
He watched as two people stood toe to toe yelling back and forth, neither backing down. But once he looked closer he realized he recognized the people around the two and then realized one of the people standing was you.
“So fucking stupid.” He mumbled, anger starting to flare up in his eyes. He continued to watch until the man raised his arm and that’s when Auston started moving before he could think. He didn’t get very far though, before multiple people were holding him back.
“Get off me.” He growled fighting against Mo, John, and Willy.
“You’re not going over there, this isn’t our arena and those aren’t our fans.” John kept his arms on Auston’s shoulders.
He continued watching as security closed in on the altercation separating you two, “fuck this.” He snapped breaking free from the hold on himself and moving towards the tunnel. “Someone get her down here.”
“Are you?” You shot back, “your holding up a whole game for this!” You motioned your hand between the two of you.
“I wouldn’t have to if you would’ve just sat down and stayed quiet!” He was pissed and didn’t care about who could possibly hear him.
“Oh yeah because I wanted a grown man yelling in my face.” You sarcastically let out, your voice going up an octave as you also got louder.
You watched as Auston shook his head and ran his hands through his hair. He had a concentrated look on his face, a look you’d seen before. This was the look Auston wore when he was trying to figure something out. But unlike before, the look didn’t go away, he was still frustrated.
“What the hell were you thinking?” He huffed pacing back and forth.
“I wasn’t, I was defending you!” You flung your arms in the air voice strained. “And based on how you’re treating me right now, I shouldn’t have.”
“I don’t need you to defend me.” Auston didn’t hold back, “people say shit all the time. You included.”
“But they weren’t me and no one besides me should say those things about you.” Your pulse was racing and it took a generous amount of self control to bring your voice back down to a reasonable level.
It felt like an eternity of silence before Auston finally replied, his voice much softer and more worn out, “You could’ve gotten hurt.”
“But I didn’t.” You watched as he leaned against the the wall hunched over. You realized that this was effecting him more than you. You were worried about your image, but Auston was worried about you. If anything would’ve happened to you, he would’ve never forgave himself. That’s not because he had any feelings for you, but because his parents raised him right (or at least that’s what he told himself when he flew off the ice and down the tunnel demanding to see you.)
“Hey, Auston.” You timidly touched his cheek forcing him to look at you. “I’m fine. Okay?” You searched his eyes for any confirmation that your words were getting through. “Plus I didn’t totally disagree with them, they did call you a little bitch.” The smile that tugged at the corners of his mouth and the deep chuckle confirmed that he was fine.
“A little bitch, huh? Not very original.”
“They also called me a dumb bitch so we have that in common.” You shrugged taking a step back.
Auston was amused, “Who would’ve thought that would be what we have in common.”
You smiled crossing your arms over your chest. You both took a second to really look at each other. You may have disliked each other, but you shared common ground when it came to dealing with hate. Auston didn’t deserve it any more than you did.
“This color looks terrible on you by the way.” Auston broke the silence lightly tugging at the jersey you wore.
“Really? You looked down at your outfit, “I think it’s sleek and flattering.”
“You’d look better in blue.” Auston stood to his full height.
“Win this game and I might consider it.” You offered side stepping to allow him to get closer to the entrance.
“Really?”
“No.” You shook your head, “but I do actually need you to win now. That fight can’t be for nothing.”
“This next goals for you, then.” He smirked.
“Don’t miss it like the last one.” You teased.
“Don’t get into anymore fights.” He retorted walking away and you watched as he returned from where he came.

Who’s (Y/f/n) (Y/l/n) Dating Now?
(Y/f/n) (y/l/n) has been in the spotlight since she was 15 so it’s no surprise her relationships have been as well. From first love to whirlwind romance , we’ve seen it all from the singing sensation. She’s mainly been in serious relationships, but the lineup is impressive.
Shawn Mendes
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Y/l/n) and Mendes came into the spotlight around the same time. The pair met, instantly hit it off, and became the new young Hollywood “it” couple. They dated for three years from 2014-2017 and wrote a few of their hit songs about each other. (Y/f/n)’s song ‘Dandelions’ on her debut album is about Mendes. The love wasn’t one sided though, as Mendes reveled many of his love songs were about (y/l/n). After winning an American Music Award, Mendes said, “All of my songs are about her, so this award is as much hers as it is mine, she’s my inspiration.
We loved watching their young love romance evolve, but the two split in early 2017. (Y/f/n) discussed the breakup on the Jimmy Fallon show. “We just realized we were growing apart and going in different directions, but he will always hold a special place in my heart as my first love and no can ever replace that.”
Harry Styles
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The British singer is (y/l/n)’s longest and most high profile relationship. The two began dating at the end of 2017 and remained together for four years before breaking things off. Their love caught the attention of the world and had many talking. It’s believed Styles hit song, Adore you is about (y/l/n) before they were official.
The couple raised the bar for relationships. Harry took (y/f/n) on a vacation to Greece for her 21st birthday. Which she followed up by throwing him a massive surprise party with all of his close friends and family. When asked about their relationship in an interview (y/l/n) said, “Harry is the type of boyfriend girls dream of. He loves me so well and he wears his heart on his sleeves which is beautiful.”
The breakup came as a surprise to many as it seemed the couple was going strong. It didn’t last for long though as they got back together at the end of 2022 before finally calling it quits mid 2023. Neither have revealed why they split, but both have remained consistent and committed to supporting each other.
Michael B. Jordan
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
During her brief break with Harry, (y/f/n) dated Creed actor, Michael B. Jordan. Despite the 11 year age gap the couple had a lot in common and spent plenty of special occasions together. Jordan helped her celebrate her 24th birthday where we got their most infamous pictures together as a couple.
The relationship lasted 10 months before they broke up and (y/l/n) was back with Styles. Despite the sudden end Jordan had only good things to say, “She’s an amazing, hardworking woman who deserves all the success she’s had.”
Auston Matthews
Tumblr media
The newest boyfriend on the list may be NHL superstar, Auston Matthews. An insider reveals they saw Matthews and (y/l/n) at a bar together in Toronto. They were with a group of friends including Justin and Hailey Bieber, but the two seemed particularly close. The pair was also spotted leaving together at the end of the night. While nothing is confirmed, we could definitely get behind this match.

Famous Baby (blurb)
The Final Straw
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Warnings: verbal argument, angst, smut (oral receiving and giving, P in V) buckle up bc this is an emotional rollercoaster.”
“You’re so rude!”
“And you’re selfish!”
You scoffed, “Im selfish because I don’t think you need to make a speech?”
“It’s a congratulatory speech.” Auston clarified, “on behalf of the team-“
“The only people that need to make a speech are Justin and Ryan.” You cut him off placing your hands on your hips, “The owners of the company.”
Drew House was turning 5 and Justin’s mom had the idea to put together a party to celebrate the accomplishment. She wanted it to be big and filled with Justin’s friends, family, and the things he loved the most.
So she planned a few different meetings for everyone to get together which unfortunately for you included Auston you flew to LA specifically for this.
“So I can’t make a speech, but you get to sing a song?”
“Do you want us all to sit in silence the whole night?”
“Dj’s have a job for a reason.” Auston crossed his arms over his chest. “And they can play actual good songs.”
On any other day Auston’s jab about your music wouldn’t bother you. You deemed him useless and untalented musically speaking. But today, the comment put you over the edge.
You took a deep breath before calmly responding “Hire whoever you want Auston, I don’t care.”
Your cold tone, took Auston back. He didn’t expect you to switch it up so quickly. And only two outcomes were plausible now. The argument ends here or you were about to go off.
Auston knew this was a fragile moment and how he responded would determine the outcome. He should’ve just silently agreed or even gave into your idea, but he was stubborn and good at self sabotaging.
“You do care.” He pointed out, “If you didn’t you would’ve shut up at the beginning of this discussion and let me be in charge.”
And that was enough for your deep breaths and the counting method your therapist taught you to avoid outbursts to be forgotten.
“You know what Auston, no asked you to be in charge because they know you suck at it.” You’re voice rose with every word, “If you were good at being in charge you would have a winning team, but you don’t.” The venom in your words were no competition for the fury that filled your eyes, “The only reason you are relevant enough to even be sitting here is because Justin loves hockey. It’s not because you encouraged him to build the brand, or supported him every step of the way, or put in money for it to be successful.” You listed off what the others in the room, Justin’s friends and family, had done do ensure his success. “You’ve done nothing, but show up and ruin things, so you can sit down and shut up, because no one here cares about what you think.”
“Is that why you wrote a song about me.” Auston challenged, “because you don’t care about what I think?”
Your mouth went dry and your throat felt like it was beginning to close up. You swallowed thickly, refusing to let the tears that so badly wanted to come out make an appearance. This couldn’t be happening. Despite the release of your new single you told no one who it was about, now Auston just did that for you.
“That’s it. I’m done.” Your chair squeaked as you abruptly stood from it. “Auston, go fuck your self, Scooter, I quite.”
You stormed out of the room the door slamming behind you. The table fell silent following your exit, no one knowing what to say or do.”
“Go get her.” Scooter, Justin’s manager sighed rubbing his face.
“No, we don’t need her, especially if she doesn’t want to be here.” Auston sat back in his chair crossing his arms.
“She was one of the most important people sitting at this table. Scooter paused, “Go. Get. Her.”
“She’s a big girl, she made her choice. And now you want me to chase after her?”
“I don’t care if you have to get down on your knees and beg for her forgiveness, she better be sitting at this table tomorrow.” He finalized standing up himself, the discussion was over.
Auston didn’t follow you immediately, his pride too strong. He waited until the evening when he had no choice but to fix things. There was less than 12 hours until everyone would meet again.
He reluctantly drove to your apartment after getting the address and penthouse number from Hailey.
Auston tapped his hands on his legs waiting for the elevator to arrive at the top floor. He could think of a million things he would rather do than apologize to you, but his friendship meant more than his dislike toward you.
Following your show in Arizona, Auston made it his mission to push down any type of feelings he had for you. The two of you together would be complicated and that was something he couldn’t deal with, not at the start of the season.
Between the time he knocked on the door and you answering, he debated just leaving, but he didn’t have the time to do that once you answered. Auston couldn’t keep his eyes from wondering down your body at the short cotton shorts that hugged your hips and the cropped tank top that dipped down to show cleavage. His thoughts were only interrupted by your voice.
“Can I help you.”
“Ummm yeah,” he stammered forgetting what he had planned to say eyes still focused on the way you leaned against the doorway, one arm holding open the door as the other rested on your hip. “I wanted to apologize.”
“Apologize for what?” You showed no emotion, but didn’t miss the way he had yet to look you in the eyes.
“This afternoon.” Auston finally looked up meeting your eyes with his own. “Saying those things.”
“Yeah, that’s sounds really sincere.”
“Can you please just let me in so we can actually talk?” Auston huffed annoyed that you were holding your ground.
You rolled your eyes but stepped to the side to allow him in. You closed the door and walked past him to the couch in the center of the room. “Okay, start apologizing.”
Auston sighed sitting on the wooden coffee table across from the couch. “Listen, (y/n), I’m sorry for what I said. I was angry and,” he sighed again frustrated at the lack of words coming to mind, “and I’m just really sorry.”
“Wow, that was more pathetic than the first attempt.” You crossed your arms, “but I’m not surprised considering you never apologize for anything. This is probably a lot for you, trying to use words with more than one syllable.”
“You done?”
“No.” You shook your head sitting up straight. “It’s one thing for you to not like me, but embarrassing me like that when you know that song was vulnerable for me, was just mean.”
There was lots of gossip surrounding the song you revealed at your show. Later that night you released the recorded version and the next morning it was everywhere. The discussion about who it could be about was a hot topic, everyone wanted to know, but no one did. Even when your best friends asked who it was about you brushed it off saying it wasn’t about anyone specific it was just a concept you thought of.
“I wasn’t thinking.”
“You never think!” You shouted, “you just say things and do things without thinking about the consequences.”
“I apologized what else do you want from me?” Auston shouted back throwing his arms in the air.
“Nothing.” You stood up and stormed toward the door and holding it open. “Get the fuck out.”
“What the hell is your problem?”
“You. You’re my problem. Now leave.”
“Im not leaving until we figure this out.” Auston responded not looking at you and refusing to stand.
“You don’t get to decide when this conversation is over. You are apologizing to me.”
“Then fucking accept my apology if you want me to leave.”
“No. Your “apology” was terrible.” You put air quotes around the word apology allowing the door to close in the process.
“Then I’m not leaving.”
“Fine, then I’m calling security.” You announced attempting to make your way to the phone on the side table by the couch, but Auston blocked your path.
“Move.” You threatened trying to push past him, but Auston wouldn’t budge.
“Will you just…stop being so fucking difficult?” Auston held onto your arms to try and keep you in place.
“No.” You pulled your arms back with a surprising amount of strength, but Auston got to the phone before you could and threw it across the room.
“What the hell is your problem?” You reiterated his question from earlier.
“You. You’re my problem.” His voice came out strained.
Both of you stood chest to chest breathing heavily. Auston looked down at you, he wanted to walk away but he couldn’t. Watching you so worked up, breathless from arguing and cheeks red. You looked so pretty, and you were standing so close, and he was so turned on. So he didn’t think, he just acted as he leaned down, one hand placed on your neck and kissed you.
You wish you say your initial reaction was to pull away, but it wasn’t. You sank into the kiss like you had been waiting for years for it. Your fingers clasped together around his neck as his free hand found a home on your hip.
You kissed for a long time taking turns opening your mouths wider giving the other person more access, neither of you coming up for air. Auston sat down on the couch, pulling you down with him. You kissed down his neck as you straddled his waist. Auston’s hands rubbed up and down your back under your tank top as you continued working down his neck and back up nipping at his earlobe. He tugged lifting your tank top over your head and tossing it in the corner.
“Fuck.” He groaned noticing that you decided to not wear a bra with it leaving your bare chest in front of him. Auston dipped down to kiss the valley between your breast before taking one of your nipples in his mouth. You moaned at the attention he gave them.
“You drive me crazy.” You whined raking your fingers through his hair.
“The feelings mutual.” He mumbled coming up from your chest and planting a kiss on your lips. You only broke the kiss to remove his shirt and then your hands were back on his body as his lips were back on yours.
“Stand up.” Auston demanded nudging you his knee. You did as told and watched as Auston got down on his knees in front of you without breaking eye contact. He couldn’t help but chuckling thinking back to what Scooter said about getting on his knees to beg for forgiveness. Watching the way your legs clenched looking at him, Auston knew he would get on his knees for you whenever you wanted.
You knew this was all wrong. You hated him and he hated you, but watching him hook his fingers in your panties and sliding them down your legs, that was right.
Auston placed kisses along your inner thighs before he tapped your leg “separate them.”
You couldn’t help the loud moan that escaped your lips as Auston’s tongue met your clit. You latched your fingers back into his hair and attempted to steady yourself. Auston held you firm as he continued to lick and suck like he had been walking in the desert for days and you were his first sip of water.
Your legs only became weaker as you felt him slip two fingers inside of you. They pumped at a rapid pace and you began falling apart around them.
“Aus, I-“ you started but couldn’t finish as you moaned loudly. The combination of his tongue and his fingers had you closing your eyes and seeing stars as you came calling out his name.
“I know, baby, I got you.” He reassured picking you up in his arms. You wrapped your legs around his waist as he carried you to the bedroom. Auston placed you down as he stood at the foot of the bed.
“You out on quite the performance earlier.” You watched as he reached for his belt. “Calling me a bad leader, screaming about how I’ve ruined things.” He slowly removed his belt and unzipped his pants. “And my favorite,” he smirked climbing onto the bed. “Telling me to sit down and shut up.”
Auston leaned back into the pillows and placed clasped his hands together behind his head.
“I’m going to do that now and I want you to suck my dick until I’m whimpering like you just were.” You couldn’t help the way your body reacted to that statement.
“C’mon baby, I know how much you love performing.” He smirked down at you as you crawled between his legs, “put on a show for me.”
You swirled your tongue around his tip before slowly taking more of him into your mouth. You hollowed your cheeks and went down on him until he was touching the back of your throat.
“Keep doing that.” He encouraged as you used your right hand to twist and stroke the part you couldn’t fit. You let your mouth and hand move in a rhythmic motion.
“Just like that.” Auston panted eyes shut tightly.
“Open your eyes.” You moved him out of your mouth to make the request. Auston continued to breathe deeply eyes still shut. “I won’t continue until you open them.” You threatened waiting for him to look down at you.
“Good.” You said satisfied as he looked down. You hummed around him taking him further down your throat. It wasn’t long until Auston was grinding his teeth together to keep himself from finishing.
“I want to be inside of you.” He said pushing gently on your shoulder to stop you. Auston flipped you over so he was back on top. After stroking himself a few times he aligned himself with you.
“Absolutely not.” You grabbed his wrist. “Put a condom on, I don’t know who you’ve stuck that in.”
Auston chuckled reaching into the bedside table, while kissing your neck “it feels better without it.” His breath was hot against your ear and you’d be lying if you said it didn’t make you rethink.
“I don’t care. I’m not catching something from you, that would make this whole situation even more embarrassing.”
“Oh, baby, there’s nothing embarrassing about how good I’m going to make you feel.” Auston slid the condom on like you asked before thrusting into you. You immediately wrapped your legs around his waist wanting him as deep as possible. Auston dipped down kissing you roughly as he worked his hips into yours.
You two moved in synch, like you’ve done this before. As his hips went down, yours went up to meet in the middle, hitting the perfect angle.
“Tell me you want me.” His request was so soft you almost didn’t hear it.
“I do.” You reassured him, knowing your mind was made up in the living room that this was what you wanted.
“No. I want to hear you say it.” His voice was strained as he rested his face in your neck.
“I want you, Auston.” Your words seemed to encourage him as he picked up the pace.
“You’ve had a funny way of showing you wanted me.”
“Says the guy who called me overrated.”
“Says the girl who called me selfish and arrogant.”
“Says the guy who made me cry and exposed to everyone that I wrote a song about him.
Auston stopped moving his hips for a moment and met your eyes seriously, “you cried?”
“Im sensitive.” You shrugged “Plus I got an awesome song out of it, which is doing really well on the charts. So, ya know….it worked out.”
“Look at me.” Auston grabbed your chin to bring your eyes back to him, “I’m sorry.”
“It’s whatever.” You brushed off the apology with a wave of your hand.
“No, (y/n),” There was something earnest in Auston’s eyes, a mixture of pleading but also reassurance “I’m, so sorry for hurting you like that.”
“I know.” You reassured him placing a hand on his cheek and brushing his hair out of his face gently. He may have been the one apologizing but you wanted to comfort him, reassure him that you truly forgave him, for all of it.
The moment felt intimate, romantic even and that was too much for Auston. It was one thing for him to fuck you, but a whole different thing if you thought it was anything more than that.
If there was one thing you agreed on it was that you both had very busy schedules and that you both were too selfish with your time to commit to something serious. The last thing either of you needed was love.
“Flip over.” He instructed
“Huh?” You looked up at him, and unlike the moment before Auston looked away.
“I want to take you from behind.” Auston watched as a look of hurt crossed your face, but it was only for a moment before you were doing as you were told.
Auston slipped himself into you again and began moving like before. He found the perfect pace again and had you screaming his name within minutes. He gave you a minute before he started back up. He wanted you to cum again. Partly because he wanted to make up for being such an asshole but a bigger part of him wanted to do it out of pride. He wanted you to think about this night when you were alone and touching yourself. And he definitely wanted you to think about it, if you tried being with another guy.
Watching you come undone a second time had Auston quickly following. You didn’t let him pull you back into his chest or hold you close before you were up and going to the bathroom.
“Don’t get too comfortable you definitely aren’t staying the night.” You tossed over your shoulder.
Right before closing the door is when you heard his response, “I didn’t plan on it.”
He made it clear that this was casual. You couldn’t lie to yourself and say that him making you turn around didn’t hurt, but you understood it. Returning from the bathroom, you watched as Auston redressed himself as you did the same.
You walked him back through the living room and to your door.
“We don’t tell anyone about this.”
“About what?” His look of fake confusion only lasted a moment before he was smiling and placing a quick kiss on your lips. “Don’t worry, no one will find out.”
“Goodnight Auston .”
“Goodnight, (y/n).”

Alright y’all I’ve started so many drafts because my brain can’t focus on one idea. I loved having you guys pick the next part before so let’s do it again!! With a little sneak peak at each part! Or if you have any other ideas I would love to hear it!💛
The game:
“The arena is packed tonight. And we are not short of celebrity guests. Up in a box we have Justin and Hailey Bieber along with (y/f/n) (y/l/n)” The crowd cheered loudly following the announcement and the excitement only grew as the box was featured on the Jumbotron. You waved and smiled for the camera.
“It looks like there’s a rivalry going on up there.” The other announcer commented on the oppsoing jerseys you were wearing. You adjusted in your seat making if very known that you had a Kings jersey on.
“I would love to hear the trash talking that’s going on up there between Justin and (y/n)”
The surprise:
“You have flour on your nose.” Auston pointed out with a laugh. You were so focused on getting all the measurements correct you forgot you touched your face.
“Can you get it.” You asked, your hands already full with a measuring cup and the bag of sugar.
“Yeah.” He didn’t hesitate to wipe your nose, but instead of removing the flour that was there he just added more with a laugh.
“Auston!”
“Sorry, it was an accident.” The devious smirk on his lips proved that his actions were anything but an accident. “I didn’t realize my hands were dirty.”
The final straw:
“Is that why you wrote a song about me.” Auston challenged, “because you don’t care about what I think?”
Your mouth went dry and your throat felt like it was beginning to close up. You swallowed thickly, refusing to let the tears that so badly wanted to come out make an appearance. This couldn’t be happening. Despite the release of your new single you told no one who it was about, now Auston just did that for you.
“That’s it. I’m done.” Your chair squeaked as you abruptly stood from it. “Auston, go fuck your self, Scooter, I quite.”

Famous Baby (blurb)
The Concert
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Song: “Silent” by Ashley Kutcher
The amount of times Auston called you overrated was roughly the same amount of times you called him self centered. So you never expected him to use one of the tickets you gave him for your show on himself, but there he was, surrounded by the five other ticket holders.
“Hey.” You greeted as politely as possible knowing this was his family surrounding him.
“Hey, these are my sisters Alex and Bre.” Auston first introduced you to the two girls you’ve seen in pictures.
They both sent you a wave and a smile which you thought was as far as it was going to go, but the younger one pipped up.
“When Auston gave us the tickets and told us he was friends with you, we didn’t actually believe him at first.”
“Bre.” Auston’s tone came off as a warning.
“Oh did he?” You laughed looking over at Auston for an explanation.
“I never used the word friends.” Auston clarified.
“Yes you did!” Bre exclaimed, “He surprised us with the tickets at a family dinner and when our nana asked who you were he said you were friends and a really talented singer.”
Your smile only grew as you gently nudged Auston’s arm, “talented huh?”
“That’s an exaggeration.”
“Sure it is.” You agreed sarcastically, but put an end to it by turning your attention to the younger girls who were the main reason for the invite.
“Hi!” You smiled brightly greeting the younger girls in front of you. They couldn’t be older than 10.
“This is Gracie and this is Paige.” Auston introduced the two girls.
“It’s so nice to meet you both, my name’s (y/n). I’m so exited that you could make it tonight.” Despite your best efforts the girls remained quiet and needed lots of prompting from there mom to talk. Nevertheless, you continued to talk about the show and asked them questions as well.
Auston would rather do skating drills before he ever admitted that he liked watching you interact with his family, but he did. The way you told his cousins the first song you were going to play but they had to promise to keep it a secret and how you included his sisters in choosing your outfit, those little things stuck with him.
Shortly after your introductions it was time for them to head to their seats and you to finish getting ready.
“Alright, popstar, let’s see what kind of overrated concert you put on.”
“It’ll be the best one you’ve ever been to, Matthews.” You reassured him.
“Don’t make promises you can’t keep.” Auston warned you.
“Sit back, relax,” you smiled “and most importantly, enjoy.”
“I’ll try.”
“Oh you will.” You sent him a playful wink as you watched him walk away.
As your opener finished up on stage you took the time to compose yourself as best as you could. Despite years of performing you still got nervous before every show.
With one last final look in the mirror and a self encouraging mantra you were swept up by a stage manager. He held your waist as he practically carried you while speed walking down the hall.
“(Y/n) on the move, we’ll be at the starting marker in T minus 20 seconds.” He talked into his walkie talkie as he guided you down the hall.
“Lights have went down and band is in place.” You heard come back through the walkie talkie.
“Dancers are moving onto the stage now.” Another voice informed.
“10 seconds, countdown has started on the screen.” You could hear the screaming from the crowd intensify as your arrival on stage was now imminent.
“(Y/n)’s standing by ready to go.” You looked toward your team one final time to ensure that everything was in place.
“Good luck kiddio, leave it all out there.”
You placed your inner ear in which allowed you to hear yourself while singing as well as cues from the stage managers. “5….4….3….2….1, let’s have a good show everyone.”
As you entered through the side stage the screaming reached a level you didn’t even think possible. You took a second to feel the energy and the crowd before standing in position. You smiled singing your intro song, before taking a pause to greet the crowd.
“Hi Glendale! How are you feeling?” You were met with an explosion of screams and cheering, “It’s so nice to be here with all of you tonight!”
The night continued with you performing all of your tops hits. Song after song left you feeling more excited and satisfied as you fed off the crowds energy. Maybe it was the warm weather or the outdoor stadium, or the summer evening, but this show felt better than the last few. The band was playing at their best, all of the dancers were sharp and purposeful and you could feel that the show was a success even before it ended.
Your favorite part of every show had to be interacting with the audience.
“Okay this next song is about cursing an entire generational line.” You laughed as everyone started screaming knowing what it was from previous shows you’ve done with the same intro.
“It is a tribute to all the boys,” you emphasized the word boys “Not men, boys, because a man wouldn’t act like this.”
“And I want…” you scanned the front row on the left side of the stage, “you,” you pointed at a girl who just about passed out once she realized you were looking at her, “to introduce this next song.” She immediately handed her phone to her friend. “You can talk about a boy who ruined your life or just say you hate men, whatever works.”
You extended the mic to the security guard in front of the stage to hold for her.
“This next song is for all the lame ass boys who fumbled (y/n), it’s your loss, this is ‘Tummy Hurts!’
You laughed as the mic was handed back to you and your band began playing the intro to the song.
Auston couldn’t help but move his head to the beat of your catchy songs and at times he even hummed along to the ones that were on repeat on the radio.
It wasn’t just your voice that was amazing, but the lighting, the backgrounds, the choreography it was all mesmerizing. Auston thought it was overall a really good show. Even during the songs he didn’t know your stage presence was enough to keep him locked in.
“I have a new song to play for y’all if that’s alright?” Your question received a wave of people screaming yes which made you laugh. “Okay, it’s one that I’ve been writing and working on since tour has started. And we won’t end on this song I promise because it’s kind of a slower one, but I’m excited to share it. This is called, Silent.
You felt a mix between anxiety and excitement. You knew they would like the song but this is the first time anyone outside of your band would be hearing it. The thought of being this vulnerable made you not want to perform it at all. But you knew if you didn’t do this now, you would never release the song and it would end up never seeing the light of day.
You sat down on the chair placed in the middle of the stage and began strumming the opening chords on your guitar. Taking a deep breath and closing your eyes you began singing.
‘It’s 6 a.m. and we’re in your bed
And you're just looking at me with everything unsaid
I should go to sleep or just up and leave
I should call a car before I say what I might mean’
Auston’s heart began thumping in his chest. It was just the beginning of the song, but these lyrics were hitting a little too close to home.
Early in the morning with only a few hours of sleep in your system, you smacked Auston in the arm complaining about his snoring and how it was keeping you awake. He quickly shot back with the fact that you stole all the covers. And despite the darkness and your fighting you both laid there facing each other, anger giving way to another feeling. No words were spoken, but there was also an understanding that things were somehow different between you two.
Or is it just a combination of this late intoxication?
And these thoughts won't quit, oh, is it worth the
Conversation of a hopeless situation?
And these thoughts, we're probably better off keeping it silent
The song was actually very easy for you to write, once you got the chorus done the rest flowed. You had a rough version recorded on your phone within two hours.
Nothing can go wrong when you keep it quiet
No one needs to know just where my mind's at
That's for you to guess, I'll keep it private (keep it)
Keep it (keep), keep it (keep)
You continued to sing refusing to open your eyes. You knew it was impossible, but you were scared if you opened them, you would make eye contact with him and that would make it all real.
You want to know, but I keep it close
Rather be the mystery than just the punchline of your joke
You can say the words, or I never will be yours
Rather be the one that got away than have to say it first
You were certain you didn’t have actual feelings for Auston. Whatever you were feeling from that night needed to come out or it would never stop bothering you, so you put it into a song.
My friends think you're no good but damn, I'm biased
But you don't need to know when I've been crying (crying)
I don't know how you keep it cool, I'm dying
Keeping this, you know me
No one knows what happened that night, you never told anyone and you assumed he didn’t either because when you saw each other again for the first time it was like it never happened. He made a comment about how he wished better music was playing when it was your song. To which you replied you wished he would stop talking.
But as time passed and the memories from that night replayed in your head over and over again it became unbearable to not talk about it.
So you confided in your mom. You kept the person and situation very vague, but even that was enough to make you burst into tears. Up until that point, your relationship with Auston was very clear, you didn’t like him and he didn’t like you, but that night made your very distinct relationship blurred.
You slowly faded into the end of the song finally allowing yourself to open your eyes and breathe. From the beginning of the song till now you forgot where you were, but the loud cheers and applause served as a reminder. You quickly wiped away the tears that began to flow and took a long drink from your water bottle. You needed the 3 seconds to compose yourself before speaking in the mic again.
Auston also felt like he was holding his breath during the whole song. At the end, while everyone around him began cheering he felt like he was going to throw up.
The morning after your night spent together, Auston woke up alone. He had the day off, but spent the rest of the day thinking about the night before. There was no denying the moment you two had, but he worked overtime convincing himself that whatever he felt for a split second wasn't real. However, in this moment, hearing you sing about it, it was more real than ever.
Auston's feet were moving before he knew what was going on. He recalled mumbling something to his sisters about waiting in the car, but he didn't wait for a response. The ringing in his ears and the pounding of his heart only intensified as he pushed through the crowd. He didn't look back as he walked away from the stage, the away from the stadium, away from you.

Famous Baby Blurb (The Night Out)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You threw your head back allowing the shot of vodka to burn as it went down your throat. You giggled leaning forward, placing the glass back down on the table.
“What number is that?” Willy yelled from across the table.
“8?” You questioned turning your head to look at Auston for confirmation.
“No!” He objected. “I think it’s 9.”
“No.” You protested back. “We had four at Mitch and Steph’s, two when we first got here, and then these two.” You gestured down to the four shot glasses on the table.
“Nuh uh” Auston shook his head. “We had one in the car over here too.”
You tried to remember the car ride to the bar but it felt like it was hours ago now and impossible to recall. “It doesn’t matter, we’re still tied.”
“You can’t admit you’re wrong.” Auston crossed his arms, smirking over at you.
“Yes I can.”
“Then say it.”
“Say what?”
“Say you’re wrong and I’m right.”
“Auston,” you sighed “please just be grateful that I’m even talking to you.”
“You should be the one that’s grateful. Do you know how many girls would kill to be in your spot right now.”
“Enough for your inflated ego to talk about it.”
Auston shrugged pushing your now empty shot glasses to the edge of the table for one of the workers to pick up. “I’m just saying you should feel special.”
You let out a sarcastic laugh, “I’m (y/f/n) (y/l/n), I don’t need anyone to make me feel special.”
It was now Auston’s turn to roll his eyes, “And I’m the one with the big ego?”
“Talk to me when you’re the number one artist in the world”
“Don’t need to worry about it, I’m the number one hockey player in the world.”
“Were options limited this past year?” Your sarcastic tone and tilt of the head didn’t phase Auston.
“They actually chose me based on my skill, not me performing with autotune and short skirts.”
“Sorry what was that” you cupped your left ear “I couldn’t hear you over my auto tuned song.”
Your song that has sat at the #1 spot on the charts for the past few weeks played through the speakers. It was perfect timing. You never got used to hearing your own voice or watching other people sing along to your words, but it was also the best feeling.
You smirked as Auston got up from the table without another word knowing that you won that conversation. You hummed along as ‘Thank u, next’ slowly faded into another song.
“Here.” Auston returned to the table sitting down another shot in front of you. “To inflated egos.”
You laughed, but raised your glass with his and threw the liquid back down your throat.
The night carried on much like the beginning, but somewhere along the way you lost count of your shots, but it got to a point where you no longer cared. You were beyond drunk, but this was the first time in a while you were actually able to enjoy yourself.
Your world tour was about to start up and you knew this was the only break you’d be having for a while. You planned to leave Toronto the next day, go back home to spend time with your family for a few days and then tour starts.
“She’s hammered.” Justin watched as you swayed to the music, holding onto Steph.
“At least they’re having fun.” Morgan commented, also watching all the girls giggle and dance together.
“How many shots did you guys end up taking?”
“Twelve, but she thinks it’s higher.” Auston explained, “she’s been cut off since midnight, I payed the bartender to replace all of her drinks and shots with water.”
Both Morgan and Justin shared a look and then put their attention onto Auston.
“What?” Auston asked noticing the way they were looking at him.
“That’s just a nice thing to do for someone you hate.” Morgan shrugged not wanting to make it a big deal.
“I figured her getting alcohol poisoning would put a hold on the whole tour thing. Consider it community service.”
“Well, thank you for your service.” Morgan chuckled standing up, “but I’m getting Tessa and we’re going to go home before she damages something.”
As morgan approached the group of girls to grab his wife you all immediately began booing and begging him to let Tessa stay a little longer. When it became clear your pleas weren’t going to work you all made your way back to the group.
You attempted to place your glass down on the table but it slipped out of your hand and landed with a thud on the ground.
“Okay.” Justin picked up the glass. “That’s it your done for the night.”
“No.” You pouted crossing your arms. “I out drank Auston, so now I’m celebrating.” You refused to take no for an answer leaning across the table to grab another glass.
“Nope.” Auston picked up the glass before you could reach it.
“Auston.” You glared at him from across the table.
“You won, there’s nothing else to prove, time to go home.” Auston leaned back, knowing there would be no argument and that his word would be final.
“Don’t talk to me like im a child.”
“Then stop acting like one.”
“Justin.” You huffed and turned too quickly toward your best friend causing you to stumble, but the mishap didn’t stop you, “Tell Auston to shut up.”
But before he could respond Morgan and Tessa were back, “We have a problem. Papparazi are outside and they aren’t leaving until you two come out. Morgan pointed toward you and Justin.
“She can’t even walk straight right now.” Justin pointed at you leaning against the table for support.
“Okay then what do we do because we have about 30 minutes until this place closes.” Willy reminded all of you looking down at his watch.
“I can call and get one of my guys to pick us up out front.” Justin gestured between himself and Hailey. “But I’m not letting her go out there like this.” He gestured toward you.
“Tell Mike to come around to the back.” Auston learned your drivers name from earlier when he dropped you all off at the bar. You insisted he take you, not trusting anyone else. “I’ve got an idea.”
Once the plan was set into place, Morgan, Tessa, Mitch, Steph, Willy, and a few of the younger guys all left first. Justin and Hailey prepared to leave next, preparing you as well without you knowing.
“Trust me. You guys go out the front and at the same time I’ll take her out the back, they’ll never know.” Auston reassured Justin.
“She’s gonna fight you, once she realizes what’s going on.”
“I can handle her.”
As Justin and Hailey walked toward the front door you frowned realizing that they were actually leaving not going to get another round like you thought.
Auston picked you up and placed you over his shoulder before you could react. You immediately began hitting his back and yelling at him to put you down. He got you to the back where Mike was waiting and placed you in the car getting in after.
“Don’t ever do that again!” You yelled stressing the first two words.
“Don’t worry, I don’t plan on it.” Auston put his hands up in defense.
“First off, I dont need you man handling me to get me out of a bar!” You yelled throwing your arms in the air, “Secondly, why did you wake him up?” Your finger flew toward the front seat.
Mike had been working as your driver since the beginning and more often than not where you went he followed. However, you never liked to make him stay up late just for you.
“You couldn’t stand up straight, let alone walk.” Auston fired back his voice also rising to match yours. “And it was either wake him up or your picture would be on the front page of every magazine tomorrow morning, drunk and stumbling.” Auston didn’t expect you to be overjoyed with how things went down, but he didn’t intend for you to be so ungrateful.
You knew you were wrong, but being stubborn was something you were good at. And you weren’t ready to apologize yet, so you crossed your arms and shifted your body so you were facing the window.
You weren’t sure if it was the alcohol or all the bumps in the Toronto streets but you soon began to feel sick.
“Mike, can I please have a bag?” You asked waiting for the plastic bag to be handed back. As soon as it was you were throwing up into it.
You felt hands that could only belong to Auston bundle your hair into a ponytail as he held it out of your face. You wished you only got sick once, but unfortunately it was three more times before you sat back up. You tied up the bag and placed it on the ground and wiped your mouth.
“Thank you.” You mumbled as Auston let go of your hair and sat back in his seat.
“Don’t mention it.” He replied. The car fell back into silence and that’s how it remained for the rest of the drive.
The next morning you left Toronto very early, but not before you dropped off a gift at Scotiabank arena. Auston arrived to afternoon practice expecting it to be a tough one, but what he didn’t expect was the envelope waiting in his locker for him. It was blank except for one sentence ‘thank you and I’m sorry’
He opened up the envelope and smiled at the contents. Inside were six vip tickets to your show in Arizona along with backstage passes.
It was over three months ago when Auston explained that his little cousins loved you and wanted to attend your concert but it sold out before they could buy tickets, of course this admission was also followed by a jab about him not understanding why anyone would want to see you. But you remembered the conversation and figured it was the start to an apology.
He tucked the envelope into his bag and sent you a quick text. ‘Thanks, I’ll see you in Arizona’

Famous Baby (Accidental Sleepover)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Note: this actually ended up being a lot longer than I intended lol, but enjoy :)
You held back your best friends hair as she threw up in the bar toilet once again. You rubbed her back and used the extra hair tie on your wrist to pull up her hair.
“I’m sorry.” She groaned wiping her mouth with the back of her hand.
“It’s fine,” you reassured her leading her out of the stall and to the sink.
The night started out great you and a some friends flew to Toronto from LA to support Shawn at a concert. You all decided after the show would be a perfect time to go out and have a few drinks. A few turned into shots which turned into bar hopping which lead you to your current state.
“You ready to go?” You asked (y/bff/n), who nodded. You picked up her hand and guided her back to your group of friends who were sitting in a corner.
“We’re about to leave!” Shawn shouted to the two of you.
“Okay,” you turned to your friend “give me your purse, I’ll go close your tab.” You switched purses with her and worked your way through the crowd to the bar.
Once there, you flagged down a bartender and closed the tab. While signing the receipt you heard a loud commotion behind you. You turned around right as a fight broke out between two guys and slowly spread beyond them until it was total chaos.
You attempted to work your way back through the crowd but it felt useless, people were moving in all directions, some trying to get closer to the fight and others trying to avoid it all together.
You leaned against one of the bar stools to look over the crowd to where your group of friends were, but the table was cleared.
“No, no, no.” You groaned looking all over the bar, but seeing none of the people you came with.
You convinced one of the bartenders to let you borrow their phone in exchange for a picture. You attempted to call all of your friends, none of them picking up. You silently prayed that Justin would pick up as you hit send on his number.
“(Y/n), what’s up? Are you okay?” You let out a sigh of relief upon hearing his voice.
“Yeah I got separated from everyone I was with and (y/bff/n) left with my purse so I have nothing and I was just wondering if you could come get me or send an Uber or anything? I’m at Champs.” You let out all in one breath.
“Of course.” You heard shuffling and extra voices in the background as Justin explained the situation to who you assumed to be Hailey.
“So Auston was here chilling and he’s actually about to head out, Champs is on his way home, so he said he would pick you up and bring you back here.”
“Really?” You questioned surprised that Auston would offer.
“I may have bribed him, but yeah he’s leaving now.”
You went outside to wait after retuning the phone you borrowed, hugging yourself against the cold night air. It was a Friday night so downtown was busy to say the least, but despite the crowds you actually wished you were alone.
You waited until Auston’s car pulled along the sidewalk and came to a stop. You sighed opening the door and climbing into the passenger seat.
“Hey.”
“Hey.” Auston replied. You watched as he attempted to call Justin, but no answer. He tried a second time and then a third.
“Damn, they probably fell asleep.”
“Perfect.” You closed your eyes fighting back the tears that threatened to spill over.
“You can come over or mine, until they all get back to Shawn’s.”
“Okay.” You nodded waiting a beat. “Thank you.”
“I’m not doing it for you. Justin offered me his court side seats to the Raptors game for this.”
“Thank you, anyway.” You forced out.
“Did you just thank me?” Austons voice went up an octave, “more than once?”
“Don’t get used to it.” You crossed your arms and stared out the window as Auston drove through the city.
No words were exchanged the rest of the way to his apartment. Even as you got out of the car and followed him through the building the two of you remained quiet. It wasn’t until you got inside of his apartment did the gravity of the situation really hit you.
“Um can I use your phone to try and call (y/bff/n) or Shawn?”
“Yeah.” Auston handed over his phone and you attempted to call yourself first, followed by (y/bff/n), and finally Shawn, but all three numbers went straight to voicemail.
“Hey Shawn, it’s (y/n),” you let out a loud sigh (y/bff/n) left with my purse and my phone so just call me at this number when everyone is back at your place. Thanks”. You hung up and handed Auston back his phone.
“No answer?”
“No,” you shook your head. “But he’ll call back when they’re home.”
You suddenly felt very awkward standing in the middle of Auston’s kitchen. You have been alone together plenty of times, but this was different. You’re vulnerable and he was actually helping you. It’s hard to lead with a snarky comment when someone rescued you.
“So,” Auston led also picking up on the thick awkwardness that now filled the room.
“So,” you copied looking everywhere but at him.
“Do you want a drink?” He suggested, opening the fridge to see what he could offer.
“No.” You shook your head.
You turned to walk in the living room looking at the pictures displayed all over the room. One with him and who you assumed to be his parents. Auston was in his jersey standing in the middle, all three smiling brightly at the camera. Another was with him and his dog that was now resting quietly in the corner. A third with him and two girls who had to be his sisters. They all stood on the beach, Auston in the middle again.
You smiled, for the first time Auston actually seemed human to you. He looked genuinely happy in all the photos. Auston joined you looking at the pictures.
“These are my sisters” Auston pointed at the picture you were looking at. “Alex is older and Bre is younger.”
“And this one is of me and my parents at a home game. It was the first time they came to visit me since I moved away from home. I uh actually cried hugging my mom for the first time.”
“That’s not embarrassing.”
“How about for you?” Auston asked. “When did you move away from home?”
“I was 15 and for a while I went back and forth between LA and (y/homestate)” You explained. “But eventually I needed to be in LA full time so Justin and his mom let me stay with them until I turned 18.”
That’s why we’re so close.” You laughed “He literally became like my brother for that year and a half that I lived with them.”
Your parents had given up so much for you to be successful so when you saw them for the first time after you got your own place, you also cried.
Auston turned on the automatic fireplace and requested Alexa to play music. You couldn’t help the sarcastic laugh you let out as he handed you a glass of wine.
“So this is your game?”
“What?” He questioned sitting beside you on the couch. You placed your glass on the table in front of you and shifted your body so you could face him.
“You bring some girl home, turn on your fireplace, play some soft music in the background.” Auston let out a loud laugh at your assumption and sunk back into the couch watching as you walked over to where he had a guitar sitting beside the tv.
“And this is vulnerable for you because you’ve never played in front of anyone but she’s different.” You continued your analysis picking up the guitar. “So you play a few chords and boom shes in your bed.” You finalized sitting down again, but this time with the guitar.
“You thought that through.” Auston smiled.
“Here.” You extended the guitar towards him, “sweep me off my feet.”
But before Auston could reply his phone started ringing, “I don’t know the number so I’m guessing it’s for you.”
You recognized Shawn’s number, “Hey” you stood from the couch walking towards the kitchen again.
“Hey, (y/n) I’m so sorry we just finally made it back.” You could hear all of your friends voices in the background talking over one another.
“It’s all good.” You reassured him. “Auston picked me up.”
“You’re at Auston’s?”
“Yeah, I called Justin and he was there so he came and got me and when I tried calling Justin again he didn’t answer so we came back here.” You explained.
“Oh, okay, so I can stay up and wait for you to get here. Can Auston bring you or I can order you an Uber?”
“Yeah that works, I don’t think he’ll mind.” You looked over your shoulder at Auston attempting to strum chords.
“Okay yeah just text when you’re on your way.”
“I will.” You said your goodbyes and hung up. You turned back around to walk in the living room.
“So are they home?” Auston asked looking up from the guitar.
“Um no.” You aren’t sure why you lied, but it came out before you could really think about it. “No.” You said more confidently “They decided to go to a club.” You handed Auston back his phone.
“That’s too bad.” Auston remarked setting down the guitar and smiling softly.
“Mhmm” You also smiled sitting back down on the couch.
After you both finished your drinks Auston first offered up the couch for you to sleep on which you immediately turned down.
“I don’t know what you do on that couch.” You insisted.
“You don’t know what I do in the bed either.”
“But at least it’s more comfortable.” You reasoned. “You can sleep on the couch.”
“Im not sleeping on the couch.”
“Fine.” You huffed, “Do you have a guest room?”
“Yeah but I’m redoing it so there’s not a bed in there anymore and it’s filled with boxes.” In all honesty, Auston’s mom was the one who wanted to redo the room, but Auston didn’t make any progress since she left and probably wouldn’t until she returned to visit again.
After arguing for 15 more minutes, you both begrudgingly decided to share the bed.
“Are you sure you’re comfortable with this?” Auston asked moving the pillows around.
“Since when do you care what I’m comfortable with?” You asked from other side of the bed.
“I don’t, but I would like to sleep in peace so I don’t need you keeping me up with your complaining.”
“It’s fine, as long as you stay on your side.” You pulled back the covers sitting down.
“It’s my bed, both sides are mine.” Auston reminded you.
“This is the neutral zone.” You ignored his previous comment and placed a pillow in the middle of the bed.
“Got it.” Auston rolled his eyes and turned to open his closet beginning to undress.
You watched as he took his shirt off first followed by his pants, not wanting hm to catch you staring you turned off the lamp beside you making the room dark.
“Y/n.” Auston groaned turning on the lamp on his side. You flipped over to lay on your left side so your back was towards him.
You felt him lean across you to reach something in the night stand on your side.
“Hey! you’re crossing over the neutral zone!”
“Your laying on the side I usually sleep on.” Auston ignored your attempt to push him away. “My contacts case is in there.”
You attempted to ignore him by closing your eyes, but when you felt your pillow move from under you and your head hit the bed that’s when you flipped back around.
“Auston!”
“This is my favorite pillow.” He smirked placing the pillow behind his head. You reached over to try and take it back.
“(Y/n), stay on your side of the bed.” Auston reprimanded you for breaking the neutral zone. “You can have this pillow.”
You snatched the new pillow and rolled back on your side trying to fight the smile that threatened to take over. “I hope you don’t treat all your guests like this.”
“Usually we don’t spend the night sleeping so I don’t have to worry about it.”
You rolled your eyes and giggled despite yourself, “you’re such a cliche.”
Auston laughed too going through his phone once more before calling it a night. He noticed a new text and read over to himself first before clearing his throat and reading it aloud, “Shawn said ‘I’ve tried waiting up for you, but I’m too tired. I’m going to bed, the front door is unlocked when you get back.’”
You bit down on your lip knowing you had been caught and had no lie to try and defend it.
“I’m going to say, (y/n) is so into me that she lied just so she could get into bed with me” Auston teased smirking down at his phone.
“I’m not.”
“Sure.” He laughed, smiling over at you even though your back still faced him.
“Just like the message.” You finalized smiling yourself, refusing to look over at him.
“Goodnight (y/n).” You heard the click of Auston locking his phone and another click as he turned out the light.
“Goodnight Auston.”

Famous Baby
(Lil note: I’m actually having way too much fun coming up with ideas for this little blurb series. So here’s some possible ideas that could be expanded upon??)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The times you didn’t get along
There was the first time you met.
It was at a party. It all started with a bet that leads to tears, apologies, and you going off on Auston.
There was the housewarming party.
Auston spilled a drink all over you. In return you “dropped” ice cream on him, leading to a full on “food fight” between the two of you.
Of course there’s no way you’re walking through the new house covered in food so you’re forced to wash off in the lake…together
There was the leafs game.
You’re dragged along to a game and the only way to feel in control is by wearing the opposing team’s jersey.
You’re featured on the Jumbotron way too many times for Auston’s liking.
There was the birthday party.
You and Auston had one job, but when things go terribly wrong you’re forced to run all over the city together trying to fix it.
There was the night out.
What was supposed to be a fun night out takes a turn as you and Auston decide to go shot for shot.
And the times you did?
The tour
Your world tour comes to Toronto. And like a supportive enemy, Auston finds himself in the crowd and actually enjoying it.
Game night
It’s a game where you need a partner. All of your friends are married (giving them a built in partner), leaving you and Auston to be partners, the most competitive people in the room.
Table for 20
The whole team gets together to celebrate the season. You and Auston sit next to each other. It’s a night filled with legs touching and hands brushing.
Accidental sleepover
Without a phone or purse after a night out you end up in Auston’s car and then his living room and then his bed.

Famous Baby (blurb)
the cover
“So what do you think?” You held your breath waiting for Justin’s reply.
You were back in Toronto for a few days to record and write with Justin. You took advantage of the break you took to choose an album cover.
“I like them all a lot.” He replied without hesitation, “But this one’s my favorite.” He pointed toward the cover option in the middle.
“That’s my favorite too. I think it captures the album perfectly, but it’s subtle.” You gush excited about your latest project. This new album had been in the making for a while, but you wanted it to be perfect before releasing it.
“It’s just a cover, it can’t be that deep.” Auston pipped up from his spot on the couch. He didn’t take the time to look away from the TV, not wanting to miss a second of the game that was playing.
“Does he not have his own home?” You questioned to no one in particular, refusing to even look in his direction.
“What about you?” He fired back, “You’re always here.”
“Yeah, I actually own two homes.”
“So which one is your boyfriend in?” When Auston lacked a comeback his easiest option was to point out your lack of a partner.
“The same one your girlfriends in.” It was a weak comeback, you’d admit, but one thing you hated more than Austons presence was him getting the last word.
Auston was unfazed and instead sat up and moved closer to look at the options displayed on the table in front of the couch.
“I think this one’s the best.” He pointed toward the option on the left, a close second in your mind, not that you’d ever admit at one point it was also your favorite.
“Your opinion doesn’t matter, next please.” You look towards Hailey who was laughing watching the two of you.
“Whenever this one flops just remember me saying I liked the other one better” Auston moved back to his spot.
“You never cross my mind.”
You spent the next hour writing with the help of Justin. With him and Hailey bouncing back and forth between Toronto and LA often you both weren’t in the same place at the same time. So you wanted to take advantage of his gift while you had the chance.
It was nearing 7:00 o’clock when Auston let out a loud sigh before standing up from the couch.
“The boys and their girls are gonna go out tonight, if you guys want to join?” Auston lifted his arms above his head, stretching. You watched as his shirt lifted slightly showing off his abdomen. You quickly looked away, annoyed with yourself for even noticing.
“Sure!” Hailey excitedly responded for the both of them.
“(Y/N), you can join too if you aren’t too cool for us.”
“I’ll always be too cool for you.”
“I forgot your status might make it too difficult.” Auston mocked. The last time he visited Justin and Hailey in LA you turned down an evening out with them not wanting to deal with paparazzi.
Auston refused to believe you were too famous that you couldn’t even go out with your friends without paparazzi or fans showing up.
“I’ll come.” You stood up from the couch, an attempt to even out the playing field, but Auston’s height didn’t allow for that. “But wear a good outfit, everyone loves taking pictures.”
“I always look good for the camera.” Auston smirked down at you.

Famous Baby (Blurb)
"I do believe a congratulations is in order" Auston smirked at you, a drink in one hand as he leaned onto the counter. It was going on midnight and Auston was on his fifth beer. Sober, he would have never even thought to willingly have a conversation with you.
"For what?" you scrunched your eyebrows at the smug look on his face. "For winning a game" You rolled your eyes, "That's what you're supposed to do, its literally your job." You may have also indulged on a few drinks, but that didn't diffuse your dislike for the hockey player.
"I know, but you didn't think we would do it"
"I knew Justin was capable" you stated mentioning your best friend who invited you to both the game and the after party he decided to throw after his team won the NHL all star weekends tournament. "It was you, that I thought would fumble it"
"I'm an all star for a reason."
"Listen, Aaron" you started sighing and rubbing your forehead.
"Auston" you ignored his correction, continuing your statement. "Please go bother someone else with your gloating."
It was no secret you and Auston hated each other. From the minute Justin introduced you it was clear that was a mistake. You were both successful in your own rights, he as an NHL superstar and yourself as music superstar, but both of you refused to recognize the others success. He thought you were overrated and you thought he was arrogant.
"Fine" he put his hands up in surrender. "I was just trying to make you look a little more approachable for other guys." Auston took a step backwards.
"I dont need your help with that"
Auston knew you were right. You could get any guy here easily and they would be lucky to be with you. But he also knew you were extremely picky and wouldn't approach anyone first. So he decided to use that against you.
"Your right because that permanent frown on your face makes you so approachable" You rolled your eyes again. A habit that intensified since meeting Auston.
"Go torture another girl with your self indulged gloating" This conversation was going on a little too long for your liking.
"At least I'll be talking to someone else" He threw back at you.
"Maybe you'll actually learn to have a conversation that doesn't revolve around you"
"I already know how to do that"
"doubtful" Your one worded response solidified the end of the conversation.
You took a sip of your drink watching him walk away from you and across the large living room. He found a spot next to one of Hailey's friends, who immediately gave into the attention of the 6'3 brunette. You rolled your eyes watching as she held onto every word he said like it was the most interesting conversation she's ever had.
"I didn't think it was actually true." You could hear Justin's voice, but you were so deep in your own thoughts, your only reply was "hmm".
Justin chuckled "If looks could kill, Aus would be dead right now."
You let out a sarcastic laugh "I'm not that lucky."
"Right." Justin nodded chuckling again. "You both are so similar, it's actually scary."
"don't insult me like that"
"It's true!" Justin defended his voice going up an octave. "I mean once you get past the intense hatred you have for each other, it's there."
You weren't like Auston, you reassured yourself. You didn't use your fame to act like a dumbass or put yourself on some pedestal. You never assumed people knew who you were and you never felt the need to brag about your success. No, you and Auston Matthews were nothing alike and you never wanted to be.
