life changing
so last night i watched part of Fed Up (if you haven’t seen it, i HIGHLY recommend it). I haven’t finished it yet but there was a part that struck me so hard i had to stop and everything just clicked. 
I am addicted to sugar. 
i say addicted in the most serious sense of the word. 
last year i saw a nutritionist and she told me in order for me to lose weight I had to have a ketogenic diet (low carb, high fat) because my insulin levels were out of whack which was effecting my metabolism (which is crazy slow, i eat very little) but i kind of shrugged it off. ive done no carb diets before and it works but now its just a part of my everyday diet. i avoid carbs pretty well so i didn’t think adding high fats would make that much of difference. then this part comes up about how sugar effects the brain and body. and it was like all these little things in my head connected. how the movie breaks it down, how my nutritionist explained it, how i crave sugar, why i can’t seem to get to my UGW. im pretty good at cutting sugar out (for a short period of time) but the second i have one bite, i binge. and binge bad. and i would tell myself i have a pretty gnarly sweet tooth like my mom but no, that’s just an excuse. looking at it, i dont have a sweet tooth. i eat an absurd amount of sweets. i could eat tons and always have a seriously hard time stopping. i crave it almost after every meal and tell myself “well i worked out today and ate super clean so this wont hurt much”. I know ive always had an issue with moderation but this is something entirely different. The sugar has been effecting my body on such a larger scale. my insulin levels are off, my metabolism is horrific, and i have NEVER been under 160 no matter what drastic measures i’ve gone through. 
its a heartbreaking enlightenment because, yeah, i love sweets, but its effecting my life and body in so many ways that i definitely need to take it seriously. being addicted to something is never a good thing. i can’t allow it to control me anymore.
so now i finally understand. in order for me to really succeed i need to make some serious life changes. i know what to do. ive been doing it for years. eat clean, work out, keep positive, drink water. i know the drill up and down. but i can not allow myself to believe that sugar wont effect things. IT IS THE BIGGEST THING THAT HAS BEEN EFFECTING ME.
and now my new journey begins.

The Crooked House of Windsor in England is a building constructed in 1592. It is now a restaurant. The building now stands at a marked angle, having been rebuilt  in 1718. There is a secret passage in the basement, supposedly used for private romantic affairs between Nell Gwynn and Charles II.
