Oh they were absolutely lovely~ And the children were so well-mannered and bright!
Wednesday is ahead of her age curve. Youâd be hard pressed to find another child who knows what chlorine trifluoride is, much less how to prepare some. And Pugsley, oh Pugsley. Such a rascal! He made his own guillotine and asked if I wanted to try it. I agreed if he answered my question correctly, âWhen was the last guillotine used in an official French execution?â The right answer was September 10, 1977 but he was soooo close! Ah well, thereâs always next time.
Gomez and Morticia, you must invite me over again one of these days! Iâd love to chat about your decors. Just how do you get the shadows so stark and shaded and spooky?
You are in desperate need money and take a babysitting job from a wealthy yet eccentric family. Describe your time with the Adams.

My footsteps echoed in the empty street. Not just any street. Sesame Street.
Beloved by children and adults alike, but a dark secret hid within the shadows that only few knew. Now, under the cloak of night when watching eyes slept, I returned to the familiar scene.
How long since Iâve been here last? At least 30 years. 30 long, long years. Everything looks a bit older now. A bit worn.
No longer the naive child afraid of the monsters in the dark. No. I am the one they fear. Those who would harm humanity, I hunted unrelentingly. Demons, werewolves, even-
âOne! One old friend! Ah! Ah! Ah!â a cheerful voice called out.
âCount,â I turned to face the old vampire. âSomething wrong with your laugh?â
He held up a finger, âWe thought the children would be afraid. What with the lightning and organ.â
âI see,â I managed a genuine smile. Pity, I always did like that organ. âSeems like youâre doing well, along with everyone else?â
âYes! Everyone is working together and having fun!â
Everything did look a bit worn, a bit used. A bit... lived in.
âGood,â I sighed. I had fought many and save so very few. What of those who didnât want to harm others? What of those who wanted to coexist with others?
A grand scheme: to befriend humanity at its most innocent age.
A stage was set and monst muppets mingled with moppets.
My greatest pursuit, a pursuit of a peaceful world.
Youâre the worldâs most deadly monster hunter; youâve slain hundreds of demons, werewolves, and the like. Youâve just arrived at the spot for your greatest hunts: Sesame Street.

Shaking my head, I ask my sister, âYouâre just letting this happen?â
âOh, itâll be fine~â she answered carelessly.
But I knew better. I could not in good conscience allow this travesty to continue!
âOi!â I called out to the child as sternly as I could. A dead-eyed gaze returned mine as if I was staring into a midnight pool.
âThe Latin âVâ would have been pronounced as a âWâ or a soft in-between,â I corrected her.
Your church-going, God-worshipping sister adopted a small child and youâre excited to see them. But when you do, the child is a menace. Theyâre throwing things everywhere, setting furniture on fire with seemingly nothing, chanting in Latin to summon demons, but the weirdest thing is that your sister doesnât seem to mind.

Not following the prompt specifically, but I believe this society would be vastly different than our own.
If the hair is impossible to cut or be pulled out, then in a sense it is âunbreakableâ? If so, then upon a personâs death, a funerary rite is performed where they are scalped, the hair washed and treated, and put to good use.
Being nigh indestructible, the hair is used as reinforcements for buildings, woven into clothing and armors, and various miscellaneous items like rope. In a way, the legacy left behind by the persons are in how their hair is used so special care is taken to cultivate the hair as best they can during their lifetime.
Eventually, with advancement in science and a cost of several hundred thousand lives (all naturally expired of course), they were able to build a space elevator with little more than intricately woven hairs.
Thus kicking off the space age exploration of ships made of hair. Combing over jungles of distant stars, parting alien seas - but thatâs a story for another time.
In another universe, hair is a means of knowing how long you have to live. Some peoples hair drags some peoples hair is at their shoulders. To cut the hair is impossible and to pull it out is also impossible. Tell the story of someone waking up and their hair which is double their height just started to fall out.

Cancer - Water
How would this affect my day to day? Nothing in any big way and yet in all the little ways that matter.
Walking on water? I can climb raindrops and reach the stratosphere. I can dive deeper than any submarine and step on the Marianas Trench. But what for? To die from hypothermia, radiation or getting sucked into a plane turbine? To die from the noxious toxins of the seabed?
Nothing so grand. I would fix my eyesight so I would no longer need glasses. I can improve my eyesight to be better than any human by adjusting my eyesâ lenses directly. I can heal from most wounds and pathogens would be flushed out quickly enough if I recognize the symptoms. Any poison, any alcohol - as long as I can filter them, I am in a sense immune. Superhuman feats become my daily norm.
To those who I dislike, I can cause immense headaches if not outright⊠well, letâs not think too hard about that. Humans are water-balloons to me. Persuasion or coercion. I can be both doctor and executioner.
To those I like, I can heal and show infinite visions of fantasy. Manipulate the vapors in the air and I can weave any mirage I like.
If I can manipulate water⊠I will be worshipped as a god.
⊠And yet I still canât make a good pot of tea or coffee.
The 12 zodiacs each have a corresponding element, Cancer is Water, Aries is fire, etc. Each person can control the element of the sign they are born under. How would you go about your day with this ability?

It was a dusty old thing from my great-great-great-who-knows-how-many-greats-grandmother. She loved hearing the clicks and clacks as her fingers flew deftly over each letter. She loved the little margin bell and quirky zip whenever she needed to return the carriage. Noisy as it was, she found it charming and kept it in the attic were she wouldnât bother anyone.
Teaching me how to properly maintain the complex pieces, I was the only one allowed to take it apart, clean, and reassemble everything. All the while she would entertain me with colorful anecdotes.
She had written so many poems and pamphlets in her youth, books and stories in her career, and finally her memoir when her fingers could barely press the keys.
When she passed, an odd silence echoed in the house. One I never thought Iâd get used to. Keeping the keys clean and ribbon inked left a strange calm - the white paper would never be stained again, but felt like it was still waiting for her.
Yet over the years, Iâve neglected it. My attention was divided. My life, my work, my family.
By the time I remembered and took a look, dust and cobwebs covered every inch. The ribbon was dry and the paper a venerable yellow that withstood the passing of years.
A thought flitted by to throw out or sell the typewriter. Iâve never used one and most likely never will. The modern conveniences of digital typing had spoiled me far too much.Â
A silly thought. But as I peered closer, I saw a single line. A memory of before the ink running dry.

Because I give people second chances. I try to look past their mistakes and encourage them to do what is right.
Without knowing who they are or what they are capable of, I trust them. I want to believe in humanity. I want to walk with them towards a more radiant future.
Of course she would get upset - when all I can do is just smile weakly after having my hopes dashed. Again and again, throughout the countless aeons. Yet unchanging, I reach out a hand to help those little humans so very much like us - knowing the inevitability.
After all...
Nothing destroys Peace faster than baseless Optimism.
âWhaddya mean sheâs angry? Howâd ya piss off the literal embodiment of PEACE?!â

Almost overnight, superheroes appeared in every city. Scientists and mathematicians gained enormous clout - not only were they physically stronger, but gained secondary powers based on their respective fields. Geologists can stop earthquakes, meteorologists can quell storms and bring rain to desperate lands, statisticians can not only instantly deduce but affect probability.
âA new era!â Politicians exclaimed. A revolution. A change in society starting from reformation of the educational system to a near complete overhaul of economy and strategies.
Yet an old man just shook his head. He is old and frail, so much that whatever power he had gained was used entirely to keep him from collapsing and dying on the spot.
To him, the world will remain the same. Everyone may have gained new powers, but nothing that changed the status quo, not really. There is still disparity in the world. The gap of knowledge between different countries, even between communities or races in the same school meant that there will be an imbalance.
The politicians are already trying to exploit the powers. The scientists will have to revise everything they knew about reality and how it works - maybe that is why the physicists have been so quiet lately. And where there are heroes, there will always be villains.
He can see it, and he wasnât the only one. Caution and deliberation rippled throughout the world as he and others felt the burdening pressure and responsibility. Reform the educational system? To what? To cram more facts into kids and turn them into weapons?
Humanity have always had these powers. Humanity can predict natural disasters and have already come up with countermeasures - they may not always be perfect but they are improving. Changing probability happens every day from the simplest actions such as wearing a seat-belt or looking both ways before crossing a street.Â
No, these new powers werenât going to change anything. To change the world is to change the fundamental core of humanity. Teaching tolerance, compassion, and understanding needs to be the first step before any fancy super heroics.
Knowledge is power, but is useless without wisdom.
It turns out, knowledge truly is power. Now, the more knowledge a person knows/possesses, the stronger, faster, and more powerful they become.
