HI I GOT TO SEE THE HAIKYUU MOVIE LAST WEEK AND I DIDNT HAVE MY COMPUTER WHILE I WAS IN JAPAN SO I COULDNT REALLY POST ABOUT IT

and now it's like 11 days later and i should have taken notes bc ive like forgotten most of my initial thoughts/feelings :(

main takeaways were that it was super fun, some VERY COOL action shots/sequences, i loved watching it on the big screen but i also kept wishing i could pause and go back to look at every detail, and also i will just forever wish it wasn't a movie and was a true season

and it was announced that it comes out here in the US may 31 soOo i'll be watching it again as soon as i can, and tbh that feels really soon so thats cool

Hi! Sorry for the late response I've been away from my computer for like two weeks lol

But yeah it's from the manga! It's the first line of chapter 293 that gets repeated at the end of the chapter too. A young Ukai Sr. says it about young Nekomata and I liked how when it's repeated at the end of the chapter it sort of parallels the rivalry between the two of them with the rivalry between Hinata and Kenma and I think it sets a great tone for the beginning of the Karaneko match.

I considered picking a different line to go with my Garbage Dump/Karaneko theme bc it wasn't animated yet, but it turns out that the whole Ukai Sr and Nekomata flashback stuff got cut from the movie 😔😔😔 sooooo idk if it really counts as a spoiler anymore anyway. Besides it's literally the first line after the end of season 4 too, so I'm hoping no one feels too upset about that l o l

Also, I'm stoked to hear you found my blog while looking for tsukkiyama fics haha, I'm always in my head that people come here for the regular hq!! content and just tolerate the tsukkiyama (fanon or canon, romantic or platonic) posts, so very cool to hear people are interested in that too lol

i love haikyuu so much. bc it’s just. so cute. i love how many characters there are and all of the useless, trivial information we have abt all of the characters. like how iwaizumi used to collect cicadas, only to let them go bc he said he’d feel bad if he kept them. how yamaguchi likes “long fries that have gone soft and floppy”. how kunimi likes salted caramel. how akaashi wrings his hands. how kuroo just happens to get top grades and slips all these scientific words into casual conversation. kenma’s username on everything is “applepi”. it’s just so cute. i love the character interactions, like when bokuto is looking out of the window in his pyjamas and he says “i’m glad it’s fukurodani who i could play my last match with” and akaashi is like “are u dying bokuto?” and bokuto says “what? i’m going to live until i’m 130″. and when shimizu holds suga’s hands when he’s visibly stressed and suga instantly goes red and swirly and he’s like “pls wait!!!!!! we can’t get married yet!!!!!”. and when kuroo and bokuto knowingly smile at each other and hug after nekoma are eliminated from nationals. when kenma smiles and thanks kuroo for getting him into volleyball and kuroo is like “… … … … … huh… …? … … W-WAIT…” and he covers his face and starts laughing and it’s rly cute. nobody is bad. kyoutani is really scary and only listens to iwaizumi, but only bc iwaizumi beat him at arm wrestling. a cunning, deceitful character like daishou has a rly pretty gf he tries to impress, and when they watch volleyball matches together he gets bashful bc he feels like he’s being a huge volleyball nerd but she calls him cool. i just don’t understand how a series is this cute. they’re all so cute. moniwa is so cute. goshiki is so cute. oikawa teaches volleyball to children on mondays. don’t even get me started on yachi
