hi tumblr!! i think this is my third “hi it’s been a while”, but i actually plan to stick around this time lmao. i probably won’t be as active as i used to be, but hey, i’m here!
i’ve done a lot of self reflection in my time away, and while still trying to figure myself out mostly, i think i’ve come to the conclusion i am indeed crowkin (as well as caninekin still, but crow is definitely more prominent).
like i said, it’s been a long time since i’ve been on this blog at least, and i learned how tumblr works on a different one in my time away from strayhounds,, so i never really made any close mutuals or anything i can return to here. i’d love to make more friends that are also corvids !! but also just other alterhumans/nonhumans in general, so that’s mostly why i tagged it a lot. i haven’t had much interaction at all with other alterhumans/nonhumans in a long time, so this is sort of just a call to do so !! anyway i hope u all have a good day/night <33

— hello! it’s been a while, i apologize. the main point of this post is this; werewolf books.
i absolutely hate the modern take on werewolves, wolf pack dynamics, and the like. this, along with wishing to write a horror-ish (disturbing/eerie/unsettling) book that goes against the norm, made me think.
so, werewolves, lycans and the like; what are some things you dislike about werewolf cliches, and what would you love to see more of? what can i do to make sure i have a unique, well-representing and accurate concept?

idk what i am anymore. i’m literally just a dog/wolf. i don’t have the specifics i am literally just canine. limiting myself to just being a black gsd wolfdog feels wrong. but i don’t feel like a husky, for example. mostly varying degrees of GSD, wolf, coyote.. i’m not trying to search anymore. i’m just gonna exist and see if it comes to me. and if it doesn’t, that’s okay. i can just be canine, and that’s okay, too.
this is a message to all of the new (or those who’ve been here longer, but are still questioning) alterhumans out there. one day you might figure it out. or maybe not. but overall; it’s okay not to know right now. it’s okay to take time. it’s OKAY to NEVER know. it’s OKAY to just be canine (for example) without truly identifying as a cladotherian. it’s OKAY to say I’M A DOG and leave it at that. YOU DON’T OWE DECISIVENESS, and YOU DON’T OWE SPECIFICS.
it is OKAY to SIMPLY EXIST.

same with my therianthrope identity; i do not ‘identify as’ a wolfdog, i just am one. i may tag my posts with werewolfkin because i don’t want to be put onto just the normal ‘werewolf’ tag (because that’s further from the alterhuman community, and normal people scare me when it comes to alterhumanity😭).

✦ as stated, i am a canine. i believe i am a cryptid-like black wolfdog, coastal wolf, and possibly a coyote.
✦ this identity is more recent to me than being a canine, but i am also considering that i may be a crow.
✦ — as i stated, i am also a werewolf. i am a werewolf in this lifetime/body. i do not believe i can physically shift, it is purely psychological, but using that label instead of just being a human right now is comforting for me!*
i can’t transform physically, but that doesn’t mean i can’t be a werewolf. i do not kin werewolves, i just am. canines are my kind. i am caninekind. i do not believe i can physically transform, i do not have physical delusions of being a werewolf, i do not believe i am biologically werewolf, only mentally; i am not a p-shifter or a clinical lycanthrope. regardless, i totally respect clinical lycanthrope and they are totally welcome here! i am just not one myself
✦ — i chose to identify with the label of werewolf, but it was involuntary or at least subconscious. it might be my brain trying to cope with being human by making me a ‘werewolf’ in this body, since in my ideal - true - form i wouldn’t be human at all (which is why i’m not werewolfkin), but right now i am, so at least it lets me feel somewhat like myself. please do not try to reality-check me. i know i am in a purely human body. but my mind is partly canine for some fucked up reason, so let me live like it.

i have been extremely anxious recently, and i think part of it has to do w the fact i haven’t established a territory and it’s literally half-way through spring. i should have pups already! but we haven’t even finished my room renovation, and the whole house is too.. whole house-y. i need a room, a den, something that is my own to feel sane, safe, normal. i also probably need a therapist but that’s unrelated
