Okay okay, Emma and Jacob being the best book relationship ever? Yeah. I refuse to call anything I say from this point on corny because it’s just the truth

Emma and Jacob have the most beautiful, joyous, (honestly realistic) relationship I’ve ever read. I will say I’m only a good halfway through hollow city right now but I doubt that matters much. It’s so willingly mutual between them that it makes me cry. Everytime i read a scene between them, even if it’s not romantic, it makes me feel like I’m right there watching it unfold. Of course, Ransom plays a part in that beauty but still. It’s so rare to see two characters working so magnificently together. Every romance in that story is amazing but I’m always gonna be bias to Emma and Jacob. It’s literally in his blood to love her. And hell, why not, Hugh and Fiona too. Not the blood part obviously. We don’t get all that much of them but my god, there’s something about them. He met her in a flower field while feeding his bees? Are you kidding? Are you kidding me? You’re kidding me. That’s. Augh. Absolutely serendipitous

Does anyone else think about Jacobs parents? Not just as a passing thought, but like a completely and utterly consuming one? I have no clue why it is that that specific part of the story sticks so far out to me but it does, especially in relation to the sonf Florence and the machine made for the movie (I know the movie is bad but the song is genuinely perfect). You can honestly listen to it from any characters perspective, literally any of them. Emma and Abe, Jacob and his parents, Abe and Jacob, Hugh and Fiona, even Bekhir and his boy. I could go on but this is about Jacobs parents. Do you guys ever think about how they’re really doing? In the second book it’s addressed some but that’s through Jacobs imagination. We (as far as I’m aware) won’t ever actually know how long his dad stayed on the island, if he kept it to himself until he returned to his mother, If he asked around, if he assumed it was suicide or murder, anything

Tbh I’m kinda glad they changed Enoch in the movie. Like don’t get me wrong, I hate the movie with a usually burning passion but if it was gonna be bad anyway at least he was cute

All that being said i want to be a director to remake that movie because holy hell could it be beautiful 😭
