OC-TOBER DAY 5: Relationships!
For day 5 I'm bringing my silly litte guy again to talk a little bit about his relationships. He's currently dating (soon to propose to her?), but since she's currently living in a different city, they start living together after graduation.
He's currently living with two roommates, and they've been a really important part of his character development.
As for relatives, he has a cousin (also living in a different city) with whom he keeps contact. He's started to get closer to stepfather once he started university, but his relationship to his biological father (who he hasn't seen in a few years) remains distant.

OC-TOBER DAY 15: MEME
I was planning on doing more of these but this week has been busy. But let me tell you this one illustrates how a lot of the other characters feel about my silly little guy.

When Chrissy Cunningham dies, Max’s world falls into a spiral. It leaves her with more questions than answers and a new found need to know more about her past. Corroded Coffin has been broken up for over 20 years. Max knows the place she can get the answers she wants. Between the documentary about the band and her upcoming wedding, it might be easier than she thought. Until she meets Eddie Munson, the reclusive guitarist for the band who’s hidden himself away for years and isn’t as forthcoming as she hoped. Along with her father, Steve, he holds the answers she’s been looking for. What could go wrong? (For the Steddie Big Bang. Project #216)

When Chrissy Cunningham dies, Max's world falls into a spiral. It leaves her with more questions than answers and a new found need to know more about her past. Corroded Coffin has been broken up for over 20 years. Max knows the place she can get the answers she wants. Between the documentary about the band and her upcoming wedding, it might be easier than she thought. Until she meets Eddie Munson, the reclusive guitarist for the band who's hidden himself away for years and isn't as forthcoming as she hoped. Along with her father, Steve, he holds the answers she's been looking for. What could go wrong?
Keep reading for a sneak preview!
There was no gate that led to Eddie Munson’s house; just the too long driveway that wound up off the main road and led to a big old looking house. Eddie was already outside waiting for them when they pulled up. Lucas couldn’t help but think that Eddie looked exactly how he’d expected Steve to look when they’d first met.
Eddie had been handsome when he was younger. The old footage that Max had shown him of performances had been proof enough; with his long curly hair that swung around as he thrashed around on stage and the bright smiles he would flash to the crowd or in interviews, even a blind person could see it. Eddie was a heartthrob in the wrong business.
Now, he just looked tired. Like life had dragged him along down his own driveway for too long. “You guys are actually on time,” Eddie called out as Lucas opened the driver’s side door. “Half the time, people can’t find the place. Or they don’t show up at all.” He stepped off the porch and reached out to shake Lucas’ hand.
“Well, being on time is apparently important to professionalism. Or something,” Lucas made a mental note that Eddie was stronger than he looked as he released his hand and moved around to the trunk. His eyes lingered on the cane that Eddie had gripped in his left hand before he started to unload his gear.
“So…are you Max then?”
Lucas quirked an eyebrow as Max let out a snort of laughter. The red-head pushed the passenger side door open and eased herself to her feet. “He wishes,” Max joked. Lucas rolled his eyes fondly as he slung the backpack onto his shoulder. “I’m Max. He’s just Lucas. You guys talked on the phone.”
“Oh,” Eddie surveyed her with a curious look. “See that makes sense.” He grinned as he reached out to shake Max’s hand. She took it and tried to look collected even as her heart felt like it was beating out of her chest.
Appearances proved to be deceiving as they got the tour of Eddie’s house. It was definitely smaller than almost everyone else’s, except for maybe Robin’s house. The only other person who lived there was his uncle and he was out of town on a fishing trip or something. “One of life’s simple pleasures or whatever the fuck he likes to call it. It changes,” Eddie explained as they walked past a closed bedroom door.
The thin hallway that led from the living room to the kitchen drew Max’s interest. Eddie may not play as many concerts as he did before, but it was obvious that he missed it. The walls were plastered with different items: from concert tickets to flyers to candid pictures. Corroded Coffin was everywhere. “Max,” Lucas whispered. Her gaze shifted over and she stepped closer to get a better look at the picture that Lucas was focused on. It was Eddie and Steve with Chrissy sandwiched between them. They all had big smiles on their faces in the picture. They looked so young and innocent in their own way even though Max knew better by now. It felt like a punch in the stomach when she noticed it in the picture. Chrissy was looking right at the camera. But the other two? Steve had his head turned slightly, almost like he was telling Eddie something when the picture was being taken and the smile on Eddie’s face was…different.
“I miss her sometimes,” Max cleared her throat as she tried to play it off.
“I miss her all the time,” Eddie answered. Lucas looked over his shoulder to see Eddie. The man looked tired as he bore some of his weight on the black cane that he had gripped in his left hand. He sighed as he leaned back against the doorway leading into the kitchen. “I’m sure we’ll talk loads about it. I remember that day…really well actually. But let’s eat first.”
They settled for doing the interview in the sunroom. Eddie’s backyard was bright, filled with different flowers and blossoming trees. It was nothing compared to the garden that Steve meticulously cared for but it still showed something that Max suspected. They both enjoyed caring for things. They did a shit job of caring for themselves but the way that the plants and Max herself had flourished proved that they both cared deeply. Maybe too much.
“So can you tell us what it was like?” Lucas started them off like he had mercifully done when they had interviewed Steve and Robin.
“What what was like,” Eddie tilted his head.
“What being in one of the biggest bands in the world was like,” Lucas elaborated.
Eddie let out a snort of laughter. “Hard to believe that people still think that after everything that happened.”
“Well they do,” Max interjected. I do, was left unspoken because there was too much baggage that came with that right now. Eddie’s gaze turned to her. It was like she could feel him staring right through her. Right into her soul with his big stupid puppy dog eyes. “I have some friends back home that almost shit themselves when we told them we were going to talk to THE Eddie Munson.”
Lucas nodded his head enthusiastically. It wasn’t exactly a lie either. Max had called their friends when they’d landed to make sure that Mike hadn’t stowed away in their luggage.
“You guys must know that flattery works on me,” Eddie smiled, a real smile. The dimples in his cheeks would definitely make a sucker out of someone like Steve Harrington back in the day. “I wouldn’t know where to start.” It was probably the first honest answer he’d given them all day.
“From the beginning.” Max leaned back in her chair, eyes locked on the older man sitting across from them.
