i had no idea such an illustrious council existed but i would be honored to be granted a seat
how many oc's do you have, and what are each of their stories? <=
that's kind of a hard question to answer haha
i would say that personally i focus more on story ideas rather than specifically characters, so i have a lot of different concepts bonking around in my head with a lot of different characters that aren't fully developed. (also some that aren't g/t related)
however, i would say that my most fleshed out and oldest g/t oc's are Myth and Ezra, who I originally envisioned being both borrowers having this whole convoluted angsty adventure until i thought it might be interesting to have Ezra as a human who shrinks and has to be taken in by Myth, but i don't have a story really planned out or anything. Myth is definetly one of my favorite ocs just in terms of putting him in Situations lmao.
i have a shifter oc named Oliver, whose story i've actually been chipping away at recently. basically, he's a shifter who's hiding his identity from his peers by being one of the 'popular kids' but who's carefully crafted persona starts to be threatened once a kid from his past who knows he's a shifter strolls back into his life. pretty angsty, but that usually how i treat my g/t characters lol.
so for the question of number of oc's, the answer can be from like 3 to like 20, and there are many, many story ideas, some much more solid than others. i really do want to post some writing to tumblr, but none of it is done or at a point where i want to post it yet.
thank you so much for asking about my ocs!!! i have many funky guys clacking up there, they are all i am thinking about constantly.

half cursed g/t thought of the day:
size shifter that cheats at hide & seek by shrinking
me, who shrunk and climbed into the kitchen cabinet, now hiding under a mug: …
my non-shifting friend who has been looking for me for 76 minutes and is almost seething: you BETTER be taller than a few inches right now

are you really into g/t if you aren't constantly looking at things and thinking how big they would be to you if you shrunk.
or, alternatively, looking up at tall things to see how small you would be next to someone of that height.

random blurb :p
i've had a story idea knocking around in my brain, and decided to write a short part of it. so... here's a teaser i guess?
── •✧• ──
“What did you do?” Myth’s accusatory tone was cut with panic as he grasped tightly at Ezra’s shoulders. His knit brows revealed that he had as many answers as Ezra did. So much for asking an expert.
“Me? You think I did this?” Ezra bit back in retort, pushing forcefully away from the other man. The fogginess was beginning to lift, leaving behind it confused anger at the accusation and more than a little panic. He decided to listen to the anger.
“Right now, I don’t know what to think except that we're at eye level. And that is more than enough cause for a little alarm. I don’t- I really don’t know what I am supposed to do in this situation.”
“I’m not exactly-” Ezra was about to spit out some clever retort, but a sudden deafening creak interrupted his words. The sound was so loud, and made Ezra’s heart rate instantly spike. Hard raps against the door that echoed out. Knocking, before the distinct click of the handle turning.
“What-” Ezra was about to ask what was happening when in an instant, a hand clamped against his mouth with iron determination and he was being pulled forcefully into the space beneath his dresser. His back was pressed flush against Myth’s torso, he could probably feel how hard his heart was pounding.
“Quiet,” Myth hissed against his ear, shrinking further into the shadow beneath the dresser. He said nothing more, his grip firm in holding Ezra in place.
A slight creak betrayed the door opening.
Another sound. Footfalls. Ezra choked back a gasp, heading the other man’s instruction.
“Ez?” A voice, like raptious thunder, called out. The floorboards with footsteps that lead the man closer to their hiding space. From his vantage point, a beat up converse stepped into view, followed by another. Ezra felt like he could faint against Myth having to confront how much just his roommates shoes now outsized him. At this size, he could see extremely fine details, like the scuffs on the rubber or the stitches that have loosened.
He felt sick. One moment passed, another. The silence was overwhelming. The rational part of Ezra’s mind knew that Pierce had no reason whatsoever to look under the dresser, but that part of his brain had been quickly overtaken by panicked animal instinct telling him to break Myth’s grip and run in any direction as far as he could.
Relief flooded him when finally, his roommate turned on his heel and walked out of his room, although he didn’t hear the door close behind him.
After another moment, Myth finally released him. He looked extremely unaffected, but Ezra felt like his nerves were on fire. It took a solid few minutes to get his breathing under control and his heart to stop pounding, all while Myth gazed at him with his arms crossed and an unreadable expression.
“You done?” Myth asked, raising a brow in a way Ezra was interpreting as scrutiny.
“Just about, yeah.” Ezra felt off kilter, still buzzing from the adrenaline but also slightly embarrassed at the implication of the question.
“Good, because we have to get going.” Myth said, adjusting the strap of his scraped-together satchel.
“Going… where?” Ezra hated how timid he sounded and anxious he still felt. The glower that Myth wasn’t trying all too hard to hide wasn’t helping either.
“The walls,” Myth said as if it were the most obvious thing in the world, “Also I’m getting you out of the open so that you don’t go exposing us by standing around. Come on.”
With that, Myth turned and nodded his head to the side beckoning Ezra to follow him. With a frustrated huff, Ezra had no choice but follow the man deeper into the shadows of his apartment.

thinking about borrowers
while borrower human interactions are very fun, i think its just as nice to imagine how borrowers live on their own. how their unique living situations influence their lives and what they do when no humans are around.
thinking about borrowers making connections with the animals that roam the house/apartment they hide within. a borrower taking a dog treat they need to handle with both hands in order to befriend the canine. a borrower creating a makeshift cat toy out of random scraps of fabric and feathers pulled from pillows. getting so close with the animal they are able to ride them around.
thinking about borrowers making art out of the bits and bobbles they collect, turning all the possessions they know won't be missed into their own creative expression. a borrower snapping of the graphite end of a pencil and tearing off a corner of a notebook page so they can sketch like they've seen a human do. a borrower learning they like to paint and draw and make and write.
thinking about borrowers having unique notation to communicate important information silently. borrowers scratching symbols into the wood of their crawl spaces to show what times are safe to venture into human territory, what kind of room it is, if there are any animals to look out for, directions to take. since light is a dangerous giveaway, borrowers will have to learn how to navigate these dark passageways relying on their sense of touch.
thinking about borrowers constantly wondering what the world is like when it is built for your size. a borrower gazing up and up at the elevated kitchen cabinets, almost being unable to think about being able to reach up to them without effort. a borrower seeing all the things that the humans have made for them, when everything they possess has needed to be made or taken. a borrower wishing that just once they could tower and stretch and fit into places.
thinking about borrowers making meals together, cramped in the small unnoticed spaces of the foundation, using recipies passed down for generations using bits and pieces of different foods whose absense wouldn't be noticed. borrowers laughing together over small mistakes and teaching each other the techniqes of how to properly heat something over candlewick. borrowers eating together with their hands, using bottlecaps as plates.

I heard that your ask box was open…
a size shifter whose default is tiny but constantly shifts up to be in regular human society, who also hangs out with a bunch of collage frat bros so he doesn’t know if they’ll accept him if they knew he was tiny. Just the everyday strain of sizing up, trying to make sure his height is consistent but failing a lot, excusing himself just so he can have a small break, and don’t get me started on the hi-jinx that happens when he’s tiny at a frat club and tries to hide or he’s tiny in his apartment and his friends get in somehow and they don’t notice him on the floor. And don’t get me started on when they find out!
This scenario has bounced in my head so much like
this is a really interesting scenario, thanks for submitting it!! (and also, holy shit, the potential?)
i imagine the physical and emotional strain of trying to shift constantly would be pretty taxing, especially if you have to focus on getting your height exactly the same every time. the spike in heartrate every time the topic of height gets brought up, and concentrating hard on not shrinking from the nerves.
the shifter really likes his friends and loves hanging out with them, he just can't predict their reaction. every time he ducks away to shift into a more comfortable height in some tucked away in some secluded corner he can feel the pressure weighing down on him.
the shifter would probably be in a perpetual state of anxiety that any of his friends would call him out on his weird behavior at any time, because he doesn't even know how he would respond.
but i'm imagining when the shoe finally does drop, it's completely unexpected. maybe the shifter is hiding out in an unoccupied room, half his height just to give his mind some rest. and of course this is the one time, the one time, he neglects to check that the door is locked behind him.
one of his closest friends barges in excitedly, clearly looking for him, eyes immedietly locking in on his friend who not three minutes ago was eye level with him. the shifter immedietly snaps up to his reduced height. He's completely panic stricken, mind buzzing with anxiety and at a loss for what to do next.
his friend closes the door quickly behind him, locks it with a soft click, and slides his back against the door till he's sitting, equally unable to think of what to say. now, they both realize, they're at eye level again.
i imagine that the shifter confides in his friend about his size-shiftiness, and feels the weight that has been slowly crescendoing within him finally disperse. they have a really honest conversation, and his friend promises him he won't tell a soul, but he will be there if he needs him.
now, when the shifter is hanging out with his friends, he feels much calmer knowing that when the conversation moves to height, he has someone who will immedietly change the topic. if the friend notices him go a little quiet, clearly focusing on maintaining his height, he'll pull him aside so he can have a little break- while having someone to talk to.
there are a million different directions this can go, what a tasty idea.

lil messy comic based on my happy shifter idea. talking to your crush is hard enough without size shifting thrown in. A for effort.

G/t Movie Night
giant lying down on the couch, tiny resting on their chest watching the movie displayed on the laptop like a theater screen in front of them. the giant, however, has a hard time focusing on anything but the way that their friend/partner rises and falls ever slightly with every breath they take
alternatively, giant sitting up on the couch facing a widescreen TV. to the giant, it isn't anything special, but to the tiny craddled in the crook of their shoulder, the screen takes up so much of their vision, the characters larger than life.
the giant scoops a handful of buttery popcorn, and without any thought at all plucks one out and raises it to the tiny on their shoulder, who accepts it with both hands.
maybe they're watching a cheesy romcom, and with each heartfelt confession from the screen, the tiny on their friend/partner's shoulder can feel a warm blush start to creep up under them. (perhaps mercilessly teasing them about it). maybe the giant hears a near imperceptable wistful sigh or squeeful giggle next to their ear, and has to focus very hard not to crack into a huge smile. (or maybe they also tease them about it)
maybe they're watching a tense horror movie, and with each dread built jumpscare, the giant can feel the tiny curl up closer to their neck. the giant has to be very, very careful of not startling too hard or they might send the tiny toppling towards the couch. in the end, the giant gently picks the tiny off their shoulder and craddles them in their grasp against their chest. when the tiny rests their head aganist their friend/partner's chest, they can hear their spiking heartrate (and you better believe they're teasing them for it)
after the movie is over, all the popcorn long gone, they both spend a long time talking about the bad script or outdated effects, until the giant leans back on the couch and their breathing begins to slow and steady, the tiny tucked against their chest falling into an equally comfortable sleep listening to their deep heartbeat
