On Friday, I received a DM from a friend saying there was a Black Live Matter March in Cobham on Saturday. I thought, Cobham, Surrey? The march started at 1pm with a crowd that included the most number of black people I have seen in the area but also, white people of different ages. Walking round the town centre, shop owners stood out, handed out bottles of water, sweets and cheered! This was only possible because 2 brave teenage girls with the support of their parents decided they would stand for change, handle the backlash and soldier on regardless of the hate they have received.
