feeling real normal and fine over the fact that scar said “you can have a monopoly” while handing grian cacti. as they stood together in the sand. that is the Closest acknowledgement either of them have ever gotten to the cactus ring.
do you think that was scar’s way of trying to tell grian he misses him? that he truly does forgive him? that he never held anything against him for how things ended up on that mountain oh so long ago?
do you think that’s scar’s way of truly reaching out to him, saying it while talking in slightly more direct circles. that they can be okay again?
do you think, as scar holds the thorns of the cacti in his hands, feels them prick his skin (if he imagines, they feel like the thorns of a beautiful rose), he’s really just taking grian’s rough hands in his own and saying it’s okay.
scar gave grian that monopoly as forgiveness, I think.

I was so very ignorant to think desertduo was going to make me any less insane this season. They started by completely avoiding eachother (very understandable, last season was rough) but I thought they would stay like that throughout this entire season. I WAS WRONG.
"Scar isn't like how he was in the other series. He's dangerous."
That line from Grian drives me absolutely bonkers. He was always dangerous, Grian. He just never wanted to hurt you.
The fact that Scar is stepping away from Grian and not trying to hold on anymore but cant quite let him go either. (He blows him up in that triple kill, but he cant even shoot him when given the perfect opportunity)... The way Grian starts to panic because he's realizing what being Scar's enemy means..
But they can't ever just let go, can they? They're two orbiting stars, setting themselves on a path of destruction once again.
So when Scar offers an alliance
(Are you sorry?)
And Grian accepts
(I am)
He offers out his hand once more
(Would you do it again, if you could?)
And Grian takes it. He always will, won't he?
(I would. And I'd make it right)
He won't. But won't it be fun to watch them burn everything up again? I sure think so.

so I had a thought, about dsmp!quackity witnessing the grand opening of QSMP through q!quackity's eyes in a dream/vision, just the day before Las Nevada's grand opening.
all these people are gathered, they just got off a train with him, some spanish speakers, some english speakers, all arrive at this grand resort, Quesadilla Island. it's a hit! a huge party! so many happy faces, excited and cheering, they're so ready to go! everyone's excited to be here!
he doesn't quite know why or how he knows, but he knows - this was his doing. that he brought these people together, and that this is his big project. he did it. he's spreading excitement, thrill and joy. he's building a legacy with this island, a memory that cannot be forgotten.
it feels great. he feels like he belongs here. he feels like he was meant for this. he feels right. it's a beautiful dream, he thinks.
'wait, a dream?'
dsmp!Q wakes up.
'oh.'
the feeling lingers. he hungers for it. he bubbles with nervousness. he prays in his heart with longing for it to return. he fills up with hope and desire and ambition.
he rubs his eyes. it had been a month of promoting todays event now. so today's the day. today he will announce the grand opening of Las Nevadas.
he hopes it's even grander than his dream.
