What types of bugs do you have?

Currently, zebra isopods, clown isopods, and green banana cockroaches. And springtails, of course.

The longer-lived of my chinese mantises died in early January, so it's just detritivores now.

Have you had success breeding zebra isopods? I feed mine so much food and they have moisture, their own water dish, lots of plants, leaf litter, cork bark to hide in, but they just won't multiply. Any tips?

I've had some success, but I'm no expert! I've had the zebras for a few years now and I do very little for them beyond occasionally adding food (mostly dried shrimp and carrot) or watering the wet side of the box, but that seems to be enough to get them to breed.

I haven't heard of isopods needing a water dish though. They usually get enough water from their food and environment, and zebras' preferences are said to be on the drier side. Are you giving them calcium? My guys can never seem to get enough of it; they love cuttlebone and they've DEVOURED a calcium treat that was sold for hermit crabs.

When I introduced the roaches to the terrarium on Wednesday, they all immediately ran for cover and stayed hidden. So it was very nice to finally see one of the nymphs out and about today (Friday) c:

Setting up a new terrarium! That moss isn't going to stay green, so let's enjoy it while it is c:

The leaves are golden pothos bits that I picked up yesterday. They were sold in a pot, so I expected an established plant, but they turned out to be a bunch of barely-rooted cuttings. At least that's convenient for this project.

I'd like to add some moss and another climbing plant with smaller leaves, but I'm not sure what would tolerate high humidity + low light conditions (and ideally isn't a popular meal for insects). This one's in an awkward location for grow lights and gets no direct light, so I'm a bit limited on options. Hopefully, there's something that'll work because it's pretty bare as-is.

Realized today that my Philodendron 'Birkin' wasn't just unusually bushy. It had 5 pups growing from it, so I removed one of the larger ones and a small one that had been getting squashed under it. I split the larger stem into 3, so hopefully, I'll soon have 5 Birkins of the Philodendron sort. More hopefully, I'll be able to trade some for a cool pothos or Oxalis or something.

My cheap aquascaping scissors have been sufficient for most plant maintenance I've done so far, but the thick stems on this guy were a challenge. With my mini lemon tree needing a trim soon, I might try getting a knife. It's almost embarrassing to admit that I don't already have one for general use. They made it sound foolish to be without a pocket knife back in fish school.

Now that it's lost its support on one side, the OG plant is falling over, but I trust that it'll pull itself back together.

I believe in you, plant.

I got myself a Pocket Werner (as one does). But Pocket Werner happens to be a Star Wars: the Mandalorian licensed action figure, and I've seen very little of Star Wars and no part of The Mandalorian.

(Sorry, Pocket Werner...)

The packaging says "The Client" and Google isn't too broken yet to find me information about this character, but he came with some unlabeled accessories that vex me.

So I'm wondering, can someone tell me what these are?

The lighting got a big funky here, but the boxes on the bottom right are a gunmetal gray. Also, none of these fit in Pocket Werner's hands despite his hands looking like they're supposed to hold things, so I don't know what the intent was.

It's a real shame Universal pulled its music from TikTok when it did because imagine the Alastor edits that could've been made with the official electroswing remix of this song that got age-restricted on YouTube, so I can't properly embed it:

Especially given how underutilized it was when it was available on TikTok. The original became popular there, so they pretty much made the remix so that folks could use it without having to work around the references to Petter Northug's drunken car crash scandal.
