EVERYTHING to know about Royal Pirates

First off here’s the master list of all some things that i think are important that they did over the years.(I suggest you look at the members first and then read this. Here’s a reliable source)

(Just a note if you’re confused on how they all speak English so well Moon and Sooyoon lived in LA for a while with Richard and promoted as Fading From Dawn at concerts there, James is originally from LA also sorry if this is a little bit of a mess I literally worked on this for 3 hours and I don’t think I can function with how much i cried finding and typing all of this stuff) 

     Royal Pirates (로열 파이럿츠) Is a 2 member South Korean rock-band formally known as Fading From Dawn (2004-2008.) The reason being they changed their name was because Moon’s brother Richard Kim (Bassist) passed away in a car accident in April of 2008. Before Royal Pirates ‘Fading From Dawn’ did rock covers. Between that there wasn’t really anything going on except for Sooyoon and Moon doing those covers. In 2010 they officially became Royal Pirates when James joined the band as the new Bassist. Their first official mv was called Shout Out, they did teasers for the debut too, heres their very first mv. During the ‘Drawing The Line’ era they got really credited for their music. James got modeling jobs and officially became a model as well he went on America’s Next Top Model as a cameo for the show. They did a show called RP TV (Jan. 23rd-March 5th 2014) after that they did a showcase in Japan. During this era too they would mainly go busking and hold mini fan meetings and went on picnics with the fans too.  Fast forwarding to Aug 31st, they came out with a new mv titled Love Toxic, They held their very first concert called ‘T.Y. Party’ meaning Thank You to the fans. Sadly when that era was over on James’s Birthday in June he got a serious injury. He went out to lunch with a friend and a metal door frame fell on him he described the incident as it almost amputated his hand (a more detailed version here). He went to rehab for it and was told that he couldn’t play guitar anymore. He ended up switching to the keyboard when his hand got better and Enik joined the group. Enik is from another band called FYKE, they’re currently about to get ready to release their new mv soon titles ‘Nightmares.’ Enik officially debuted on Jan 28th, 2016 in their ‘Dangerous’ mv. Before that on Nov. 25th, 2015 Royal Pirates released an mv with James as their keyboardist called ‘Run Away.’ During this era Sooyoon changed his name to Exsy (he got teased and got called sexy exsy a lot.) On March 15th James opened up about the accident at one of their concerts. and on Dec. 16th, 2016 they had their last official concert with James. After that they went to Singapore to do a radio show and then were in Malaysia to be guests on ‘Astro Star Quest Grand Final 2016.’ They performed Drawing The Line and Dangerous and that was James’s last show. He officially announced he was leaving on January 30th, 2017 with a hand written letter. Sooyoon and Moon wrote letters to James as well about him leaving. Sadly they both deleted them for some reason, Sooyoon mentioned in his letter that when James gets better there’s always a spot open for him. (I sobbed) After the news of James leaving Moon did a solo song and then soon after Sooyoon did one as well. (I recommend listening also to the duet they did at their last public event. 

Right now it’s unclear if they’re going to go their separate ways or not but I really don’t think they would be. Sooyoon and Moon have known each other since middle school and they always hyped up the album that they said that they’re going to release, I truly believe these boys wouldn’t just leave us hanging for a long time and then suddenly break up. It’s possible in my opinion that James left at the time time too because he knew that Royal pirates wouldn’t be doing stuff for awhile due to Enik being in FYKE and promoting with his group. (We also all know that Moon really wants us to hear the studio version of Super Natural too.)
